Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2013 Aubert "Larry Hyde and Sons Vineyard" Carneros Chardonnay ((92-96RP), 95AG). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2013 Chardonnay Larry Hyde & Sons reveals a greenish hue to its gold color as well as crisp acidity, hints of orange blossom, white peach, white currants and mangoes. This fresh, beautifully fruited, medium to full-bodied, rich wine should drink well for 10-12 years. Production from this four-acre vineyard is generally around 1,000 cases. (RP)" (12/2014)

2004 Ridge Vineyards "Jimsomare" Santa Cruz Mountains Zinfandel
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2004 Ridge Vineyards "Jimsomare" Santa Cruz Mountains Zinfandel. The five-hundred-acre Jimsomare Ranch, located between 1300' and 2000' on Monte Bello Ridge, is one of Ridge's earliest grape sources. First cultivated in the late eighteen-hundreds by the Alsatian Pierre Klein, this prime viticultural land has been in San Francisco's Schwabacher family for seventy years; Ridge took over farming in 1996 under the terms of a thirty-year lease. The Cabernet from this property is largely included in the Monte Bello bottling now, and the Zin enjoys a similar pedigree from the small block of nineteenth-century vines which have produced many intense and distinctive wines.

Its evolved light gold color is accompanied by a provocative nose of crushed rocks interwoven with orange liqueur, hazelnuts, and earth. Given its steely core of fruit, it is the most Chablisean of the 2004 Chardonnays. (RP)" (12/2005)

2011 Next of Kyn (Sine Qua Non) "Cumulus Vineyard No. 5" Central Coast Syrah
Bid on this bottle of 2011 Next of Kyn (Sine Qua Non) "Cumulus Vineyard No. 5" Central Coast Syrah (97AG, 97RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "One of the top 2011s, the 2011 Cumulus Vineyard #5 is a similar blend to the 2010, with 42% Syrah, 32% Grenache, 16% Mourvedre, 7% Petite Sirah and 3% Touriga Nacional. There’s slightly less whole cluster inclusion here (8%), and it spent 30 months in 45% new French oak. Roughly 257 cases were made. More savory and chewy, it boasts knockouts aromas and flavors of cassis, liquid smoke, ground pepper and hints of tar to go with a full-bodied, rich, structured, yet thrillingly textured profile on the palate. It too needs short-term cellaring, and will have upward of two decade of longevity." (08/2014)

It possesses a more saturated ruby/purple color, as well as a more flamboyant and exotic bouquet. Moreoever, it seems less evolved. Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2010 Alban "Reva" Edna Valley Syrah ((95-97AG), (94-96RP), (92-93ST), 93WS). Antonio Galloni: "The 2010 Syrah Reva is magnificent. Blue and blackish tone fruits, smoke, tar, licorice, cloves and menthol all flesh out in a supple, exotic wine endowed with superb depth and polish. An explosive finish rounds things out beautifully in this impeccable, opulent Syrah. The 2010 spent 44 months in oak, 70% new, all of which it has handled with grace. Of the three 2010 Syrahs, this is the wine I would personally reach for more often, as it is truly stellar. John and Lorraine Alban's winery is stripped down to the barest essentials. There is no fancy tasting room, just a makeshift table and a couple of chairs in the middle of fermentation tanks and barrels. Offers still go out to the mailing list via snail mail. It's great to know all of the emphasis is where it matters - the vineyards and wines. The 2010 Pandora and Reva are the highlights in this range of show stop

2009 Cayuse "Armada Vineyard" Walla Walla Valley Syrah
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2009 Cayuse "Armada Vineyard" Walla Walla Valley Syrah (98RP, 97WE, 93WS, 92ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "From his high-density 2001 planting, Baron’s 2009 Syrah Armada Vineyard leads with a high-toned, penetrating nose that one can scarcely avoid calling Cote Rotie-like: bacon fat, fresh cherry, kirsch, framboise, and violet. But there are also black tea, caramel, and a penetrating note of sealing wax that’s reminiscent of mature Bordeaux. Around one quarter of the 600-liter barrels in which this was raised were new. Dense, fine-grained but more evident tannins than in most of the present collection appear on a palate whose savory salinity and saliva-inducement, however, are utterly Cayuesque. " (12/2012)

The tannins and acidity are still lively, and may be a factor for years to come. But as the fruit matures, it's best to consider drinking now or soon. (Web Only- 2005)"

2010 Domaine Digioia-Royer Chambolle-Musigny
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2010 Domaine Digioia-Royer Chambolle-Musigny. All of the wines from this small family domaine come from the village of Chambolle-Musigny, and that dedication means outstanding wines with a real sense of place. Winemaker Michel Digioia is the third generation of his family to run the estate, having taken over from his mother-in-law in 1999. He began bottling all of the wine himself in 2003. His wines have consistently been in the finest league in Chambolle, and this wine particularly impressed me for its power and opulence at the Grands Jours tasting of most of the wines of Chambolle Musigny. Bid on this bottle of 1999 Bernard Dugat Py Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru (94BH, (92-94RP), 94ST, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1999 Charmes-Chambertin is medium to dark ruby-colored and offers a knock-out nose of sweet cherries, smoked bacon, and mint. This is a huge, medium to full-bodied wine that is highly concentrated and expansive. Untold quantities of blackberries, cherries, spices, and hints of new toasty oak can be discerned in its layered character. This powerful yet feminine wine is loaded with ripe tannin. Bid on this bottle of 2008 Tablas Creek "Esprit de Beaucastel Panoplie" Paso Robles Rhône Blend (96RP, 94JS, 94ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2008 Esprit de Beaucastel ‘Panoplie’ flows with the essence of dark plums, black cherries, licorice and leather. It is bigger, richer and darker than the straight Esprit, with more inner palate sweetness and sheer power. Tar, spices, iron, crushed rocks and a host of other dark aromas and flavors give the Panoplie much of its distinctive brooding, inward personality ... This is a fabulous effort from Tablas Creek. According to the winery: "With a discreet acidity and fine tannins, this wine is characterised by perfumes suggestive of ripe fruits and essence of flowers. Scents of woodland undergrowth and humus mingle with those of cherries in brandy and peony, later tending towards perfumes of leather and animals. Sometimes smoky in the mouth it is ample, pure and velvety. Its finesse and elegance make it a very harmonious wine."

2003 Philip Togni Spring Mountain District Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L)
Bid on this 3-magnum lot of 2003 Philip Togni Spring Mountain District Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L) (95RP, 94AG, 91ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: " The 2003 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate is a blend of 82% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Merlot 2% Cabernet Franc and 1% Petit Verdot. For those who don’t know, Togni has always made an uncompromising Cabernet meant for 20, 30, maybe even 40 or more years of cellaring. Gorgeously rich notes of black olives, black currants, graphite and wood smoke jump from the glass of this dense ruby/purple-colored, Medoc-styled 2003. At age ten, it displays a youthfulness similar to a 4- to 5-year-old wine. The finish is long, convincing and rich. It is reminiscent of a Spring Mountain version of a hybrid blend of St.-Julien and Pauillac. Unique to Napa and as distinctive as Philip Togni himself, it will benefit from another 4-5 years of cellaring and should last longer than your author. By the way, my cellar includes many vintages of Togni, and I rarely touch them

Of the 1997 Noon Shiraz Reserve,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "The 1997 Shiraz Reserve comes close to resembling a dry vintage port. One of the most concentrated wines I have ever tasted (reminiscent of the Clarendon Hills Astralis), yields were not low at 3.5 tons per acre, but the 35-year old vine age and sur-maturite of this wine have resulted in something special. It boasts an opaque black/purple color, followed by a sumptuous nose of licorice, Asian spices, tar, and concentrated blackberry fruit. Thick in the mouth, with remarkably full body and surprising balance, the alcohol (15.8%), tannin, and acidity are lost in the cascades of fruit. Anticipated maturity: 2003-2025. A name to watch for is Drew Noon, who has taken over his father's winery, and apparently hit the bull's eye with everything I

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2009 Léoville-Poyferré, St-Julien (100RP, 96JS, 96WE, 95ST, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "One of the more flamboyant and sumptuous wines of the vintage, this inky/purple-colored St.-Julien reveals thrilling levels of opulence, richness and aromatic pleasures. A soaring bouquet of creme de cassis, charcoal, graphite and spring flowers is followed by a super-concentrated wine with silky tannins, stunning amounts of glycerin, a voluptuous, multilayered mouthfeel and nearly 14% natural alcohol. Displaying fabulous definition for such a big, plump, massive, concentrated effort, I suspect the tannin levels are high even though they are largely concealed by lavish amounts of fruit, glycerin and extract. Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1999 Pride Mountain "Mountaintop Vineyard" Sonoma County Merlot (94RP, (91-94ST), 94WE). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1999 Merlot Vintner's Select Mountaintop Vineyard, a new offering, is a selection of Jim Pride and Robert Foley's favorite Merlot lots. Approximately 20% Cabernet Sauvignon has been added to the blend. This is a "balls to the walls" sort of wine ... opaque purple-colored, with notes of melted fudge intermixed with dense black cherry, tightly wound, but oh, so concentrated flavors. The depth, sweetness of fruit, and richness of the tannin are incredible given the fact that this wine emerged from such a cool year. This is one of the finest California Merlots I have tasted. 2010 Stéphane Othéguy St-Joseph
Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2010 Stéphane Othéguy St-Joseph. According to importer Wine Traditions: "Since 1994, Stéphane Otheguy has leased 1.5 hectares of vineyards from Vincent Gasse that are divided between the three northern Rhône appellations of Côte Rôtie, Condrieu and Saint Joseph ... Otheguy is a member of Nature et Progres, an organization that oversees and certifies organic farming. The vineyards that Stéphane cultivates are among the most difficult in France to farm organically. They are extremely steep and rocky, making the use of machinery impossible and requiring a great deal of intensive manual labor ... The Saint Joseph vineyard is also near the medieval town of Malleval. This is the very northern part of the appellation and the vineyard is particularly granitic. The firmness and structure of this wine show its potential for aging."

2000 Pavie, St-Emilion
Bid on this bottle of 2000 Pavie, St-Emilion (100RP, 96WS, 95ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This wine remains, for me, one of the compelling success stories for proprietor Gerard Perse. An extraordinary effort made from a blend of 60% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Franc, and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon from the limestone soils that dominate this very distinctive terroir, the 2000 Pavie has moved out of the closed, dormant, broodingly backward stage into an adolescent period where one can see its extraordinary vibrancy, and great complexity as well as potential. It boasts an unctuous display of rich, cedar box-infused cassis fruit and liquid minerality. The tannins have sweetened, yet the wine has thirty years of longevity and potential evolution. A beautiful wine of great mass as well as elegance, it is good to see the extraordinary efforts that Gerard Perse and his team have made confirmed in this prodigious wine. A legend now ... a legend for the future." (06/2010)

2004 Giuseppe E Figlio Mascarello "Monprivato" Barolo
Bid on this bottle of 2004 Giuseppe E Figlio Mascarello "Monprivato" Barolo (96AG, 96RP, 92ST, 90WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Mascarello’s 2004 Barolo Monprivato is an explosive wine with an almost Pinot-like expression of purity in its fruit. This round, sweet Barolo is extremely primary at this stage, with tons of dense fruit that almost cover the wine’s tannins completely. Subtle overtones of roses and tar develop in the glass, rounding out this majestic wine. Monprivato is one of the world’s very finest values in collectible, age-worthy wine, and the 2004 is another classic in the making. I was blown away by this wine’s sheer balance and harmony, both of which are remarkable considering the wine’s age. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2034." (10/2008)

The long, grippy finish is iron-driven, with a tangy mesquite note adding complexity." (06/2012)

1998 Gaja "Sperss" Nebbiolo Langhe
Bid on this bottle of 1998 Gaja "Sperss" Nebbiolo Langhe (95RP, 95ST, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "One of the things I have learned over the years is that you can count on Angelo Gaja to make a strong showing in just about any tasting. Yes, I know, Sperss is not Barolo (a small percentage of Barbera is added), but at its core the wine captures the essence of Serralunga and is as representative of these hillside vineyards as any Barolo. Dark tar, smoke, leather, spices, menthol and black cherries all make an appearance in this muscular, full-throttle wine. While the vast majority of 1998 Barolos can be enjoyed today, the 1998 Sperss could use another few years in the cellar. It isn't a crime to open a bottle today, but this is one of the few 1998s that still has upside potential. Simply put, the 1998 Sperss is a jewel. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2023. (AG)" (03/2009)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2005 Audelssa Estate "Reserve Mountain Estate" Sonoma Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (93RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve is made from their mountain terrace vineyards in Sonoma. Composed of 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, it reveals classic notes of toasty oak interwoven with generous amounts of creme de cassis, charcoal, smoke, and scorched earth. Full-bodied with superb ripeness and density as well as a long finish, it should age easily for 15-20 years. (RP)" (12/2008)

Jammy raspberry fruit coats the palate, yet without seeming simple or heavy because there’s also a remarkable sense of minerality and balance. Long on the finish, buffered by soft tannins. As this ages, expect to see some of the jamminess recede and more of the minerality emerge. Drink 2010\-2025, possibly longer." (09/2007)

2004 Tenuta San Guido "Sassicaia" Bolgheri
Bid on this bottle of 2004 Tenuta San Guido "Sassicaia" Bolgheri (97ST, 97WE, 94JS, 94WS, 93RP). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Deep ruby-red. Captivatingly intense yet refined aromas of ripe red cherry, mint, smoke and black truffle, complicated by lovely mineral and floral elements. Ripe, rich and velvety on entry, then concentrated in the middle, with flavors of red cherry, cassis, spices, bay leaf, dark chocolate and espresso. Amazingly well balanced and fresh wine, with sound, bright acids supplying wonderful lift and precision and smooth, noble tannins adding considerable power and grace. The finish goes on for minutes, highlighted by an enchanting floral-mineral quality; in my experience, the appearance of this strong floral component (in the absence of herbal or peppery aromas and flavors more typical of lesser vintages) at this early stage of development is typical of the greatest versions of Sassicaia. One of the top dozen Sassicaia bottlings ever." (01/2011

2001 Domaine Comte Georges de Vogüé Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru
Bid on this bottle of 2001 Domaine Comte Georges de Vogüé Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru (91BH, 90RP). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "This is slowing transforming itself into a really lovely wine of weight, depth and intensity with a richly detailed, expressive nose and impressively pure and harmonious flavors that offer superb clarity of expression. This is a classical Burgundy lover's dream with linearity, purity, harmony and simply knock out delineation plus a subtle complexity that is finesse personified. Consistent notes and this is one of those wine that has such balance that it can easily be enjoyed now or held for further development. Personally, I would advise holding it for a few more years but as I note, it can certainly be drunk now with pleasure." (07/2013)

2008 Etienne Sauzet Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru
Bid on this bottle of 2008 Etienne Sauzet Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru (96BH, 94ST). Allen Meadows - Burghound: " *Don't Miss!* A notably more elegant, cooler and more reserved nose of white flower, green apple and ample minerality complements to perfection the silky-textured, pure and stylish medium weight plus flavors that possess excellent volume but also wonderful detail and punch while culminating in an intensely mineral finish of superb intensity while remaining a study in purity and refinement. This is one of those 'wow' wines that amazes through transparency and delicacy rather than brute force. Still, don't be fooled by the finesse as the intensity is such that a deep breath is required after sampling this." (06/2010)

This leads to a powerful, intense, harmonious wine with layers of savory fruit and the structure to evolve for another 6-8 years. It offers a drinking window extending from 2016 to 2030. Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2010 Domaine Chandon de Briailles Corton Grand Cru "Clos du Roi" ((93-96ST), 94BH). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Good medium red. Floral, rather delicate nose. Then sappy and expressive on the palate, with a distinctly high-toned impression to the flavors of flowers, exotic spices and minerals. The soil is like that of Corton-Charlemagne just above it, notes Claude de Nicolay, which is what gives the wine its firm acidity and limestone character. Boasts terrific tension without any impression of weight. Finishes with splendid mineral density and outstanding subtle, mounting length. The crop level here was just 15 hectoliters per hectare and the wine was aged in two 350-liter, six-year-old barrels from Domaine Dujac. Leaves the salivary glands quivering. This wine and the Bressandes should go on for decades." (01/2012)

The long, fine-grained finish lets the fruit play out, almost leaving a heady impression, but the minerality sits in reserve and keeps this honest." (10/2007)

Of the 2007 Domaine Heresztyn Gevery-Chambertin 1er Cru "Les Corbeaux",Allen Meadows - Burghound writes: " *Outstanding* Here the aromatic profile is completely different as this is much more in the mode of a classic Gevrey with its intensely animale and ripe dark berry fruit nose cut with warm earth, jerky and underbrush aromas that merge into very fresh, rich, round and admirably pure medium full flavors that are seductively textured, powerful and lingering. 2000 Spottswoode "Estate" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 2000 Spottswoode "Estate" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (91RP, 90ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "One of the most successful wines for the vintage, Spottswoode's 2000 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate is more forward and lighter than either of its two younger siblings. However, it is impeccably balanced and seamless, revealing the estate's classic blueberry, black currant, mineral, and floral characteristics in its moderately intense aromatics. Pure, rich, and well-proportioned, this is a top-flight success in an irregular vintage. Enjoy it over the next 10-12 years." (12/2003)

2006 Uccelliera Brunello di Montalcino
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2006 Uccelliera Brunello di Montalcino (96JS, 96RP, 94WE, 93WS, 91ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: " In the first flight of five, #3 had by far the darkest color. Deep, rich, sweet, fruit-filled, and oaky nose is very sexy and dramatic. Lots of black cherry, pepper, minerals, leather, and chocolate. Equally dramatic in the mouth; clearly a youthful Brunello in the modern camp. We are particularly impressed with this wine’s mouth feel, which envelops the palate. Big and brawny with tannin to shed and very good acidity. Long, powerful, consistent finish. Already impressive, yet a great candidate for the cellar! Not to everyone’s taste, still, half the room fell in love with #3. (Executive Wine Seminar)" (03/2012)
