2000 Peter Michael "Les Pavots" Knights Valley Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2000 Peter Michael "Les Pavots" Knights Valley Bordeaux Blend (93WE, 92ST, 92WS). Wine Enthusiast: "A well-ripened, opulent wine; it’s huge in blackcurrant and cassis flavors and elaborate oak. You can taste the barrels in the smoke, vanilla and spicy flavors. Acidity hasn’t been integrated yet, nor have the dusty tannins. It’s really good now, but is best left to soften and integrate through 2008." (05/2004)

2010 Schrader "Old Sparky" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L)
Bid on this magnum of 2010 Schrader "Old Sparky" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L) (98AG, 98RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard Old Sparky, made from clone 4, 6 and 337, displays a dense opaque purple color as well as an incredible nose of graphite, cedarwood, incense, licorice, Christmas fruitcake, vanillin and abundant blackberry and black currant liqueur. Gorgeously rich and textured with a nearly endless finish, this super intense, full throttle wine needs 5-7 years of bottle age and should drink well over the following 25-30 years. It was aged 20 months in 100% new oak barrels. (RP)" (10/2013)

2000 Lynch-Bages, Pauillac
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2000 Lynch-Bages, Pauillac (97RP, 96WS, 95JS, 95WE, 94ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Beginning to open magnificently, the still dense purple-colored 2000 reveals a blossoming bouquet of blackberries, cassis, graphite and pen ink. Full-bodied with velvety tannins that have resolved themselves beautifully over the last eleven years, this wine is still an adolescent, but it exhibits admirable purity, texture, mouthfeel and power combined with elegance. One of the all-time great examples of Lynch Bages, the 2000 is just beginning to drink well yet promises to last for another 20-25+ years. (RP)" (08/2011)

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2006 Saxum "32" James Berry Vineyard Paso Robles Rhône Blend (97RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The other experimental cuvee is the 2006 "32" James Berry Vineyard. A blend of 43% Syrah, 38% Grenache, and 19% Mourvedre aged 32 months in small barrels and demi-muids, it boasts loads of kirsch liqueur, lavender, pepper, spice box, and earth characteristics along with a voluptuous texture and stunning richness. 2004 Sine Qua Non "Poker Face" Central Coast Syrah
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2004 Sine Qua Non "Poker Face" Central Coast Syrah (97AG, 97RP, 97ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Starting off the Syrah-based wines, the 2004 Poker Face (Syrah) is aging beautifully. A blend of 96% Syrah, 2.5% Mourvedre and 1.5% Viognier (from the Eleven Confessions, White Hawk, Alban, Bien Nacido, and Alta Mesa vineyards) that was aged in 80% new French oak, it offers up a perfumed, fresh bouquet of sweet blackberry liqueur, creme de cassis, spring flowers and licorice that gives way to a full-bodied, seamless, gorgeously textured feel on the palate. Rich and decadent, it has notable, yet beautifully integrated acidity and stays remarkably fresh, detailed and even elegant. It still needs a lengthy decant to shine, and will continue to thrill over the coming decade or so. (JD)" (07/2014)

1982 Mouton-Rothschild, Pauillac
Bid on this bottle of 1982 Mouton-Rothschild, Pauillac (100JS, 100RP, 98ST, 98WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This wine remains one of the legends of Bordeaux. It has thrown off the backward, youthful style that existed during its first 25 years of life, and over the last 4-5 years has developed such secondary nuances as cedar and spice box. The creme de cassis, underlying floral note, full-bodied power, extraordinary purity, multilayered texture, and finish of over a minute are a showcase for what this Chateau accomplished in 1982. The wine is still amazingly youthful, vibrant, and pure. It appears capable of remaining fruity and vibrant in 2082! Thank God it is beginning to budge, as I would like to drink most of my supply before I kick the bucket. This is a great, still youthful wine, and, on occasion, one does understand the hierarchy of Bordeaux chateaux when you see the complexity and brilliance of this first-growth." (06/2009)

1990 Margaux, Margaux
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1990 Margaux, Margaux (100RP, 98ST, 98WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "I had this wine both in Seoul, Korea in February, and from my cellar in December, 2008, and it was remarkable how identical the wines smelled and tasted. It offers an extraordinary aromatic display of spring flowers, camphor, sweet red and black fruits, a hint of licorice, and no evidence of its 100% new oak cask aging. Round and generous with low acidity, but an opulent, full-bodied richness that is fresh with laser-like precision, this stunning wine is just beginning to reach its plateau of full maturity, where it should remain for another three decades. A sensational effort, it is one of the legendary wines made at Chateau Margaux." (06/2009)

1975 Petrus, Pomerol
Bid on this bottle of 1975 Petrus, Pomerol (98RP, 95ST, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "One of the most rustic and powerful Petrus of the last 25 years, this wine still has a murky garnet/plum/purple color, a gorgeous nose of overripe black cherries, mocha, caramel, chocolate, and a hint of iron and blood. Full-bodied, super-concentrated, with massive tannin and extract, this behemoth Petrus can be enjoyed but still seems another 5-10 years away from maturity. It is certainly a 50-70 year wine, with exquisite concentration and intensity, but seemingly the rough edges will no doubt be less appealing to those looking for pure seamlessness. Perhaps that will emerge with bottle age. Anticipated maturity: 2005-2040. (Bordeaux Book 4th Edition)" (01/2003)

1990 Lafite-Rothschild, Pauillac
Bid on this bottle of 1990 Lafite-Rothschild, Pauillac (96RP, 95WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Interestingly, a bottle of 1990 Lafite Rothschild I pulled from my cellar for a video blog on my web site was still buttoned down, tight, and even with extended decanting was not showing as much as I would have hoped. However, a bottle tasted, of all places, in Seoul, Korea in February, was only a few points short of perfection. That amazing performance motivated me to pull another bottle out of my cellar and follow it over the course of two days. Sure enough, by the second day the wine was roaring from the glass. The 1990 Lafite has turned out far better than my early assessment. While it still possesses some firmness, and performs like a late adolescent in terms of its evolution, it boasts gorgeous aromas of cedar, tobacco leaf, cassis, and lead pencil shavings. The explosive aromas are followed by a fleshy, full-bodied wine that should hit its peak in 5-8 years, and last for 25-30 mo

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2008 Etienne Sauzet Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru "Combettes" (94BH, 93ST, 91WS). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "*Outstanding* A pure, notably ripe and highly complex nose offers notes of lemon zest, acacia blossom, fennel and spice hints that complement to perfection the round, rich and opulent yet focused full-bodied flavors that possess a seductive mouth feel because of the abundant dry extract. In particular, I admire the flawless balance on the imposingly persistent finish." (06/2010)

1999 Domaine Leroy Latricieres-Chambertin Grand Cru
Bid on this bottle of 1999 Domaine Leroy Latricieres-Chambertin Grand Cru ((93-96ST), (91-94BH), 94RP). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Deep, bright ruby. Slightly inky aromas of black cherry, currant, roast coffee and pungent oak. Extremely primary, almost grapey, but already boasts great clarity and intensity of flavor. Powerful minerality contributes to the wine definition and grip. Offers the medium weight and compelling laciness of texture of this grand cru. Less expressive today than the Clos de la Roche but perhaps ultimately more noble. Finishes firmly tannic, with great subtle persistence. A superb early showing for this wine. (ST)" (04/2001)

Sexy nose combines lime, crushed stone, menthol and wild rose. Very dry and backward, with citrus and crushed stone flavors that saturate the palate. There's a compelling silkiness here, but it's the wine's cut and energy that impress today. The superb rising finish features notes of white flowers and almost metallic minerality. A beauty. 2000 Pichon-Baron, Pauillac
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2000 Pichon-Baron, Pauillac (97RP, 94ST, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This is one of the great wines of the vintage, and certainly a candidate for one of the finest wines made at this estate under the management of Christian Seeley and proprietor AXA. Showing incredibly well at two tastings of 2000s, the wine has a dense bluish/purple color and a beautiful nose of incense, melted asphalt, and creme de cassis as well as hints of new saddle leather and licorice. It is superbly concentrated and very pure, with excellent texture and opulence. The acidity seems low, the tannin high but well-integrated. This is a compelling 2000 that is just closing in on its window of maturity and should stay there for at least 20 or more years. Bravo! (RP)" (06/2010)

Very complex and full-bodied, with lively acidity and beautiful clove honey, red apple and lemon flavors. Long, balanced and very lively. A massive white. Layered and beautiful. Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2006 Maison Henri Boillot Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru (95BH, (94-95RP), (91-94ST)). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Henri Boillot's ambitious and burgeoning negociant arm is made up in large part of many small bottling lots, representing remarkably many of the Cote d-Or's most prestigious crus. -Precision and minerality- are words he offers to explain his intentions even in a vintage as ripe as 2006, and for the most part he walks the accompanying walk, with wines (largely assembled in tank) that showed more generously and expressively than did Boillot's estate wines on the same day. Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2006 Lucien le Moine Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru "Aux Malconsorts" ((94-95RP), (91-93BH), (91-93ST)). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Also still in barrel when I last tasted it, the Le Moine 2006 Vosne-Romanee Les Malconsorts plays Cazetiers to the Les Suchot's Lavaux St.-Jacques, this being a Pinot of surprisingly white wine-like refreshment, brightness, lift, and even fruit character - the last thing I would in fact have expected from the site. Pear and musk melon as well as cherry and rhubarb are garnished with mint, narcissus, peat, and black tea. This is pure silk in the mouth - 'where are the tannins?' I find myself asking, agog. Imagine a Platonic - almost spiritual - Pinot, mingled with Riesling and Highland Malt Whisky. It would represent more an expression of wonder and a further attempt to capture this wine's nature than it would be a mean-spirited jibe to say that - for now, at least - it leaves its outstanding 2005 couterpart in the dust. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "One of the finest Champagnes I have ever brought to my lips, the 1999 Cristal bursts from the glass with fresh hazelnut and apple scents. Elegant, deep, and silky-textured, this medium to full-bodied beauty is immensely concentrated, pure, packed with apple flavors, and astoundingly long in the finish. Louis Roederer does not display a disgorgement date or consumer friendly lot number on its non-vintage Brut. 1996 Léoville-Las Cases, St-Julien
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1996 Léoville-Las Cases, St-Julien (98RP, 96ST, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A profound Leoville Las Cases, it is one of the great modern day wines of Bordeaux. This wine's hallmark remains a sur-maturite (over-ripeness) of the Cabernet Sauvignon grape. Yet the wine has retained its intrinsic classicism, symmetry, and profound potential for complexity and elegance. The black/purple color is followed by a spectacular nose of cassis, cherry liqueur, pain grille, and minerals. It is powerful and rich on the attack, with beautifully integrated tannin, massive concentration, yet no hint of heaviness or disjointedness. As this wine sits in the glass it grows in stature and richness. It is a remarkable, seamless, palate-staining, and extraordinarily elegant wine - the quintessential St.-Julien. Despite the sweetness of the tannin, I would recommend cellaring this wine for 7-8 years. Anticipated maturity: 2007-2035." (04/1999)

Very full-bodied, opulent, and rich, it is one of the 1989s that justifies the lofty reputation of this vintage. Of the 2009 Sine Qua Non "This Is Not An Exit" Sta. Rita Hills Syrah,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "An extended barrel-aged release, the 2009 Syrah This Is Not An Exit is 100% from the Santa Rita Hills Eleven Confessions Vineyard and checks in as a blend of 80% Syrah, 12% Grenache, 7% Roussanne and 1% Viognier that saw 41.5 months in 65% new French oak. Slightly exotic, with notions of kirsch, flower oil, smoked meats, licorice and graphite, it hits the palate with full-bodied richness and depth, loads of fruit and a blockbuster finish. This fresh, vibrant offering is packed with dense ripe fruit. This is an especially rich, heavy style of Solaia that lacks the subtlety and grace of the finest vintages. Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2007 Domaine Raveneau Chablis 1er Cru "Montée Tonnerre" ((93-94RP), (92-94ST), 93BH). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Toasted nuts and lemon oil in the nose of the Raveneau 2007 Chablis Montee de Tonnerre (whose quantities were drastically reduced by hail) put one in mind of the Cote d’Or. But from that point on, it turns in a direction not possible anywhere other than Chablis. Honey, citrus oil, and fresh ginger reinforce an impression of bitter-sweetness on the palate, along with suggestions of musk, crustacean reduction, and brine. This finishes with electric vivacity and implacable grip, the sharp concentration of ginger, iodine, lemon zest, and white pepper creating a memorable sense of vibrancy. One should be able to marvel at this for 10-12 years. (DS)" (12/2009)

2000 Haut-Brion, Pessac-Léognan
Bid on this bottle of 2000 Haut-Brion, Pessac-Léognan (99RP, 96ST, 96WE, 95JS, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2000 Haut-Brion (a blend of 51% Merlot, 43% Cabernet Sauvignon, and the rest Cabernet Franc) showed incredibly at the tasting, and for me is one of the three or four most prodigious wines of the vintage. A compelling nose of roasted herbs, scorched earth, sweet blueberries, plums, black currants, and a hint of graphite is followed by a deep, layered, sumptuously textured, full-bodied Haut-Brion, but one with extraordinary complexity. This wine seems more evolved and approachable than I had expected it to be at age 10. My window of maturity seven years ago was 2012-2040, but I would change that to 2010-2050. (RP)" (06/2010)

Its evolved light gold color is accompanied by a provocative nose of crushed rocks interwoven with orange liqueur, hazelnuts, and earth. Given its steely core of fruit, it is the most Chablisean of the 2004 Chardonnays. (RP)" (12/2005)

2004 Ridge Vineyards "Jimsomare" Santa Cruz Mountains Zinfandel
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2004 Ridge Vineyards "Jimsomare" Santa Cruz Mountains Zinfandel. The five-hundred-acre Jimsomare Ranch, located between 1300' and 2000' on Monte Bello Ridge, is one of Ridge's earliest grape sources. First cultivated in the late eighteen-hundreds by the Alsatian Pierre Klein, this prime viticultural land has been in San Francisco's Schwabacher family for seventy years; Ridge took over farming in 1996 under the terms of a thirty-year lease. The Cabernet from this property is largely included in the Monte Bello bottling now, and the Zin enjoys a similar pedigree from the small block of nineteenth-century vines which have produced many intense and distinctive wines.

2011 Next of Kyn (Sine Qua Non) "Cumulus Vineyard No. 5" Central Coast Syrah
Bid on this bottle of 2011 Next of Kyn (Sine Qua Non) "Cumulus Vineyard No. 5" Central Coast Syrah (97AG, 97RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "One of the top 2011s, the 2011 Cumulus Vineyard #5 is a similar blend to the 2010, with 42% Syrah, 32% Grenache, 16% Mourvedre, 7% Petite Sirah and 3% Touriga Nacional. There’s slightly less whole cluster inclusion here (8%), and it spent 30 months in 45% new French oak. Roughly 257 cases were made. More savory and chewy, it boasts knockouts aromas and flavors of cassis, liquid smoke, ground pepper and hints of tar to go with a full-bodied, rich, structured, yet thrillingly textured profile on the palate. It too needs short-term cellaring, and will have upward of two decade of longevity." (08/2014)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The dense ruby/purple-tinged 2007 Syrah Horseshoe Ranch Vineyard (150 cases) exhibits beautiful aromas of acacia flowers, forest floor, red and black fruits, and hints of charcoal as well as camphor. Fresh acids, a full-bodied mouthfeel, and a seductive, lush finish suggest it should provide plenty of pleasure over the next decade. (RP)" (02/2010)

It possesses a more saturated ruby/purple color, as well as a more flamboyant and exotic bouquet. Moreoever, it seems less evolved. 2010 Domaine Digioia-Royer Chambolle-Musigny
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2010 Domaine Digioia-Royer Chambolle-Musigny. All of the wines from this small family domaine come from the village of Chambolle-Musigny, and that dedication means outstanding wines with a real sense of place. Winemaker Michel Digioia is the third generation of his family to run the estate, having taken over from his mother-in-law in 1999. He began bottling all of the wine himself in 2003. His wines have consistently been in the finest league in Chambolle, and this wine particularly impressed me for its power and opulence at the Grands Jours tasting of most of the wines of Chambolle Musigny. Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2010 Alban "Reva" Edna Valley Syrah ((95-97AG), (94-96RP), (92-93ST), 93WS). Antonio Galloni: "The 2010 Syrah Reva is magnificent. Blue and blackish tone fruits, smoke, tar, licorice, cloves and menthol all flesh out in a supple, exotic wine endowed with superb depth and polish. An explosive finish rounds things out beautifully in this impeccable, opulent Syrah. The 2010 spent 44 months in oak, 70% new, all of which it has handled with grace. Of the three 2010 Syrahs, this is the wine I would personally reach for more often, as it is truly stellar. John and Lorraine Alban's winery is stripped down to the barest essentials. There is no fancy tasting room, just a makeshift table and a couple of chairs in the middle of fermentation tanks and barrels. Offers still go out to the mailing list via snail mail. It's great to know all of the emphasis is where it matters - the vineyards and wines. The 2010 Pandora and Reva are the highlights in this range of show stop

2009 Cayuse "Armada Vineyard" Walla Walla Valley Syrah
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2009 Cayuse "Armada Vineyard" Walla Walla Valley Syrah (98RP, 97WE, 93WS, 92ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "From his high-density 2001 planting, Baron’s 2009 Syrah Armada Vineyard leads with a high-toned, penetrating nose that one can scarcely avoid calling Cote Rotie-like: bacon fat, fresh cherry, kirsch, framboise, and violet. But there are also black tea, caramel, and a penetrating note of sealing wax that’s reminiscent of mature Bordeaux. Around one quarter of the 600-liter barrels in which this was raised were new. Dense, fine-grained but more evident tannins than in most of the present collection appear on a palate whose savory salinity and saliva-inducement, however, are utterly Cayuesque. " (12/2012)

Bid on this bottle of 2008 Tablas Creek "Esprit de Beaucastel Panoplie" Paso Robles Rhône Blend (96RP, 94JS, 94ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2008 Esprit de Beaucastel ‘Panoplie’ flows with the essence of dark plums, black cherries, licorice and leather. It is bigger, richer and darker than the straight Esprit, with more inner palate sweetness and sheer power. Tar, spices, iron, crushed rocks and a host of other dark aromas and flavors give the Panoplie much of its distinctive brooding, inward personality ... This is a fabulous effort from Tablas Creek. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1999 Charmes-Chambertin is medium to dark ruby-colored and offers a knock-out nose of sweet cherries, smoked bacon, and mint. This is a huge, medium to full-bodied wine that is highly concentrated and expansive. Untold quantities of blackberries, cherries, spices, and hints of new toasty oak can be discerned in its layered character. This powerful yet feminine wine is loaded with ripe tannin. Of the 1997 Noon Shiraz Reserve,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "The 1997 Shiraz Reserve comes close to resembling a dry vintage port. One of the most concentrated wines I have ever tasted (reminiscent of the Clarendon Hills Astralis), yields were not low at 3.5 tons per acre, but the 35-year old vine age and sur-maturite of this wine have resulted in something special. It boasts an opaque black/purple color, followed by a sumptuous nose of licorice, Asian spices, tar, and concentrated blackberry fruit. Thick in the mouth, with remarkably full body and surprising balance, the alcohol (15.8%), tannin, and acidity are lost in the cascades of fruit. Anticipated maturity: 2003-2025. A name to watch for is Drew Noon, who has taken over his father's winery, and apparently hit the bull's eye with everything I
