Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2004 Noon "Eclipse" Grenache-Shiraz Langhorn Creek South Australia (97RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A Grenache and Shiraz blend, the medium garnet colored 2004 Eclipse presents a lovely Grenache perfume of raspberry preserves, dried cherries, licorice, pepper and some chocolate. Full-bodied, rich and seductive, it still has tons of concentrated fruit married to a medium level of grainy tannins and a long finish. Drink it now to 2024+. (LPB)" (12/2014)

2004 Domaine Mongeard-Mugneret Clos Vougeot Grand Cru
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2004 Domaine Mongeard-Mugneret Clos Vougeot Grand Cru ((87-90BH)). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "More aromatically expressive and slightly riper with textured, precise and detailed flavors that are on the light side for a Clos de Vougeot and while there is nothing wrong with trading elegance for power, especially when there is good intensity like there is here, I worry when the phenolic maturity is limited. As with the Echézeaux, my score offers the benefit of the doubt that this will round out and deepen with moderate bottle age." (01/2006)

2004 Sine Qua Non "Poker Face" Central Coast Syrah
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2004 Sine Qua Non "Poker Face" Central Coast Syrah (97AG, 97RP, 97ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Starting off the Syrah-based wines, the 2004 Poker Face (Syrah) is aging beautifully. A blend of 96% Syrah, 2.5% Mourvedre and 1.5% Viognier (from the Eleven Confessions, White Hawk, Alban, Bien Nacido, and Alta Mesa vineyards) that was aged in 80% new French oak, it offers up a perfumed, fresh bouquet of sweet blackberry liqueur, creme de cassis, spring flowers and licorice that gives way to a full-bodied, seamless, gorgeously textured feel on the palate. Rich and decadent, it has notable, yet beautifully integrated acidity and stays remarkably fresh, detailed and even elegant. It still needs a lengthy decant to shine, and will continue to thrill over the coming decade or so. (JD)" (07/2014)

Its evolved light gold color is accompanied by a provocative nose of crushed rocks interwoven with orange liqueur, hazelnuts, and earth. Given its steely core of fruit, it is the most Chablisean of the 2004 Chardonnays. (RP)" (12/2005)

2004 Ridge Vineyards "Jimsomare" Santa Cruz Mountains Zinfandel
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2004 Ridge Vineyards "Jimsomare" Santa Cruz Mountains Zinfandel. The five-hundred-acre Jimsomare Ranch, located between 1300' and 2000' on Monte Bello Ridge, is one of Ridge's earliest grape sources. First cultivated in the late eighteen-hundreds by the Alsatian Pierre Klein, this prime viticultural land has been in San Francisco's Schwabacher family for seventy years; Ridge took over farming in 1996 under the terms of a thirty-year lease. The Cabernet from this property is largely included in the Monte Bello bottling now, and the Zin enjoys a similar pedigree from the small block of nineteenth-century vines which have produced many intense and distinctive wines.

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2004 Mongeard Mugneret Vosne-Romanee 1er Cru "Les Petits Monts". According to the winery: "With a discreet acidity and fine tannins, this wine is characterised by perfumes suggestive of ripe fruits and essence of flowers. Scents of woodland undergrowth and humus mingle with those of cherries in brandy and peony, later tending towards perfumes of leather and animals. Sometimes smoky in the mouth it is ample, pure and velvety. Its finesse and elegance make it a very harmonious wine."

2004 Giuseppe E Figlio Mascarello "Monprivato" Barolo
Bid on this bottle of 2004 Giuseppe E Figlio Mascarello "Monprivato" Barolo (96AG, 96RP, 92ST, 90WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Mascarello’s 2004 Barolo Monprivato is an explosive wine with an almost Pinot-like expression of purity in its fruit. This round, sweet Barolo is extremely primary at this stage, with tons of dense fruit that almost cover the wine’s tannins completely. Subtle overtones of roses and tar develop in the glass, rounding out this majestic wine. Monprivato is one of the world’s very finest values in collectible, age-worthy wine, and the 2004 is another classic in the making. I was blown away by this wine’s sheer balance and harmony, both of which are remarkable considering the wine’s age. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2034." (10/2008)

2004 Tenuta San Guido "Sassicaia" Bolgheri
Bid on this bottle of 2004 Tenuta San Guido "Sassicaia" Bolgheri (97ST, 97WE, 94JS, 94WS, 93RP). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Deep ruby-red. Captivatingly intense yet refined aromas of ripe red cherry, mint, smoke and black truffle, complicated by lovely mineral and floral elements. Ripe, rich and velvety on entry, then concentrated in the middle, with flavors of red cherry, cassis, spices, bay leaf, dark chocolate and espresso. Amazingly well balanced and fresh wine, with sound, bright acids supplying wonderful lift and precision and smooth, noble tannins adding considerable power and grace. The finish goes on for minutes, highlighted by an enchanting floral-mineral quality; in my experience, the appearance of this strong floral component (in the absence of herbal or peppery aromas and flavors more typical of lesser vintages) at this early stage of development is typical of the greatest versions of Sassicaia. One of the top dozen Sassicaia bottlings ever." (01/2011

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This 7,500-case blend of 62% Merlot and 38% Cabernet Franc is one of the strongest wines of the vintage. A deep blue/purple hue is accompanied by classic aromas of smoky blueberries and blackberries as well as incense and floral notes in the background. A beautiful texture, opulence, flamboyance, and purity characterize this stunningly deep, full-bodied effort, another great success from proprietor Hubert de Bouard. Anticipated maturity: 2009-2022." Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Ineffable aromas of powdered stone, violet, lemon, lime and sea salt. Precise and penetrating wine, with outstanding clarity, energy and cut. Subtle but endlessly complex flavors of crushed stone, citrus peel, hazelnut, flowers and spices. Conveys an impression of chewy extract and yet seems utterly weightless. Bid on this 10-bottle lot of 2004 Domaine William Fevre Chablis Grand Cru "Les Clos" (96RP, 95BH, 94ST, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The star of this extraordinary line-up is Domaine William Fevre’s show-stopping 2004 Chablis Les Clos (domaine). Its creamed stone aromatics are followed by a bold, muscular, powerful character. Medium to full-bodied and ample, it explodes on the palate, unleashing waves of iodine-laced minerals, white fruits, and liquefied rocks. This masculine counterpart to the Les Preuses is suave, seamless, and immensely concentrated. Projected maturity: 2008-2017. Though it is difficult to fathom, Fevre’s 2005 Chablis Les Clos, tasted at an unbelievably young age, was even bigger, denser, and more powerful! Bravo! (PR)" (06/2006)

2004 Chateau Montelena "Estate" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 2004 Chateau Montelena "Estate" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (94RP, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, all from their old vineyards in Calistoga. This is a dense, ruby/purple-tinged wine with full body, and despite the softness of the general vintage, Montelena has plenty of structure. Like nearly every vintage of their top Cabernet Sauvignon, it will last for 25 or more years. The wine has sweet tannin in a broad, flavorful, concentrated style with plenty of black currant, licorice, and spice. The wine is beautifully textured, slightly more forward than most Montelena Cabernets tend to be. It is another beauty from probably the most consistent winery for Cabernet Sauvignon over the last three decades. (94+)" (12/2007)

2004 Louis Jadot Le Musigny Grand Cru
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2004 Louis Jadot Le Musigny Grand Cru ((92-95BH), (91-94ST)). Allen Meadows - Burghound: " As good as the Bonnes Mares is, it's immediately clear that there's another dimension present as this is at once more elegant, more complex and classier as well. An explosive nose of black pinot fruit and penetrating spice notes lead to notably rich and ripe flavors that exude ample mid-palate extract and while the tannins are quite firm, they are also quite fine. This should prove to be one of the vintage's longer lived examples and it could surprise to the upside as the underlying material is outstanding. The texture is also noticeably different than most of the other wines of the range as Lardière indicated that there was some whole cluster vinification here." (04/2006)

It also reveals notions of roasted nuts, orange blossoms, and lemon oil as well as stunning concentration and definition. (RP)" (12/2005)

It spends 21 months in two-thirds new oak. The wine’s dense ruby/purple color is followed by a wine with glorious opulence, abundant fruit, supple, sweet tannins, a round, generous, mouthfilling texture and stunning purity as well as complexity. On the palate the wine is supple-textured, complex, with vibrant flavors of spicy blue and black fruits and a big-time WOW factor. This is a totally hedonistic effort with exceptional length and balance. It is remarkably light on its feet for such a powerful wine. (JM)" (02/2007)
