2005 Domaine Gros Frère et Soeur Richebourg Grand Cru
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2005 Domaine Gros Frère et Soeur Richebourg Grand Cru (95ST, 94BH). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "8 barrels made, vs. a normal 11 or 12) Full red-ruby, not quite as dark as the other grand crus at this address. Reticent but wild nose hints at black raspberry, minerals and game. At once powerful and suave, with terrific inner-palate tension and sneaky intensity of dark fruit and violet flavor. Finishes impressively long, with thoroughly buffered, fine-grained tannins. Gros prefers wines that combine power and roundness, and he ventured the opinion that only grand crus can give the sweetness with strength that he prizes." (03/2007)

2005 Grace Family Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1L)
Bid on this 1L-bottle of 2005 Grace Family Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1L) (93ST). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Bright, saturated ruby-red. Deep aromas of black fruits, violet, tobacco, licorice, minerals, nuts and earth. Lush, rich and sweet, with an intriguing smoky character and lovely lightness for a wine with so much breadth and volume. Unusually powerful and deep for this bottling; complex and distinctive. In a rather Old World style, with complex soil tones currently dominating primary fruitiness. Finishes broad and dry, with very lush, fine tannins. A superb vintage for this estate. Winemaker Brookman noted that this was a large crop but the team made three separate passes through the vines to reduce the crop level and then harvested later than ever here. The Grace wine was once aged in all new barrels but as of 2005 that percentage has been cut to 80% to 85%." (05/2008)

Of the 2007 Linne Calodo "Nemesis" Paso Robles Rhône Blend,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "Another of the last of the 2007s hitting the market includes the 2007 Nemesis (82% Syrah and the rest Mourvedre). It’s a powerhouse at 15.8% alcohol, aged almost completely in 350-liter hogsheads. The unusually high percentage of Syrah has given it an almost opaque purple color, with an extraordinary nose

Of the 2005 Marquis Philips "9" Shiraz McLaren Vale South Australia,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "The 2005 Shiraz 9 (a 4,000-case cuvee that spends 18 months in new and one-year-old American oak) reveals a big, toasty, smoky nose, but the oak is beautifully absorbed by extravagant quantities of blackberry and cassis fruit intermixed with licorice, incense, and spice. Bid on this 9-bottle lot of 2005 Martinelli "Bondi Home Ranch—Water Trough Vineyard" Green Valley Pinot Noir (93ST, 92WS, 90RP). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Light red. Highly complex nose features dark cherry, lavender, musky earth and mineral aromas; this was raised in 100% new oak but I find the influence minimal. Bright cherry and dark berry flavors are concentrated and show excellent energy, with dusty tannins lending grip. Finishes with a light, crisp texture and a lingering floral pastille note. 2005 Larcis-Ducasse, St-Emilion
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2005 Larcis-Ducasse, St-Emilion (98RP, 95WS, 94ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This great terroir on the Cote Pavie has long been recognized as one of the most privileged spots in St.-Emilion, but it was not until the wunderkind duo of Nicolas Thienpont and Stephane Derenoncourt took over in 2002 that the wine finally began to live up to its potential. Old timers who remember the 1945 Larcis Ducasse will attest to how great this cuvee can be. Sadly, fewer than 3,000 cases were produced of the 2005, a blend of 78% Merlot and the rest primarily Cabernet Franc with a small dollop of Cabernet Sauvignon. Yields were a modest 27 hectoliters per hectare. This stunning effort reveals one of the most extraordinary aromatic displays of the vintage, offering up notes of sweet roasted herbs, jus du viande, black olives, espresso roast, creme de cassis, and kirsch liqueur. Extremely full-bodied, opulent, and lavishly textured with plush tannin as well as an ethereal

2005 Pavie Macquin, St-Emilion
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2005 Pavie Macquin, St-Emilion (98RP, 96WS, 95ST, 94WE). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "It appears consumers can’t go wrong with any 2005 with the word "Pavie" in its name. This outstanding terroir, elevated to Premier Grand Cru Classe status in St.-Emilion’s reclassification, is run with impeccable attention to detail by Nicolas Thienpont, who is assisted by winemaking guru, Stephane Derenoncourt. The 2005 Pavie Macquin may turn out to be this duo’s finest wine to date. This is a moderately large vineyard (37 acres) for the area, and the blend tends to be 70% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Franc, and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon. A black/purple color is accompanied by aromas of charcoal, burning embers, crushed rocks, sweet, pure, blueberries and blackberries, chocolaty creme de cassis, and licorice. It possesses massive concentration, phenomenal levels of tannin, and good acidity, but it is even more backward than either Pavie or Pavie Decesse. A modern day elixir that sh

Very complex and full-bodied, with lively acidity and beautiful clove honey, red apple and lemon flavors. Long, balanced and very lively. A massive white. Layered and beautiful. Superripe, highly complex aromas of dark cherry, coffee, mocha and minerals, all lifted by a floral topnote that I did not find in any of Dugat's other '05s. Dense, sweet and superripe but with lovely perfume and freshness to the dark fruit flavors. A whiff of menthol and a sappy quality give lift to this 300-pound ballerina. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon, which I loved last year, has gotten even better, something I saw across the board with the bottled 2005s (a superb year for Bordeaux varietals). This blend of 98% Cabernet Sauvignon and 2% Cabernet Franc was aged in 67% new French oak for 21 months. It possesses a gorgeous, Pauillac-like bouquet of cedar, creme de cassis, licorice, smoke, and earth as well as sweet tannins, full body, fabulous layers of fruit, a noble sweetness, and outstanding length. Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2005 Quilceda Creek "Galitzine Vineyard" Red Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon (97RP, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon Galitzine Vineyard comes from the fifth leaf of this estate vineyard and in this vintage contains 4.5% Merlot. The wine was aged for 22 months in 100% new French oak. Opaque purple-colored, its distinctive aromatics leap from the glass. Toasty oak, scorched earth, a hint of truffle, black cherry, black raspberry, and blackberry liqueur aromas are quite mesmerizing. On the palate, this sizable effort is firm, full-bodied, and structured, demanding 6-8 years of cellaring... It should be hitting its stride by 2015 and remain at that level through 2035. (JM)"

It boasts a deep ruby/purple color along with a striking bouquet of blue and black fruits intermingled with acacia flowers, lead pencil shavings, and licorice, excellent fruit, medium to full body, substantial but sweet tannins, and compelling harmony among its acidity, alcohol, tannin, and extract. 2005 Grace Family Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 2005 Grace Family Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (93ST). The Grace wine was once aged in all new barrels but as of 2005 that percentage has been cut to 80% to 85%. (ST)" (06/2008)

Bid on this magnum of 2005 Branaire-Ducru, St-Julien (1.5L) (95RP, 95WE, 94ST, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "As usual, the 2005 Branaire-Ducru is one of the more distinctive wines of St.-Julien. Proprietor Patrick Maroteaux has turned out another classic. While not as opulent or fleshy as the 2003, and it remains to be seen if it will eclipse the 2000, the 2005 is a big, structured, intensely rich effort with raspberry, blueberry, and spring flower garden characteristics, stunning purity, full-bodied power, and good underlying acidity as well as harmony. The hard tannins suggest 8-9 years of cellaring will be beneficial; it should last for three decades. Anticipated maturity: 2015-2030+." (04/2008)

2005 Haut-Bergey, Pessac-Léognan
Bid on this bottle of 2005 Haut-Bergey, Pessac-Léognan (92RP, 91WS, 90CG, 90ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "One of the finest under-the-radar estates in Pessac-Leognan, Haut-Bergey’s 2005 (a blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon and 35% Merlot) offers up aromas of scorched earth, wet stones, burning embers, charcoal, and copious black currant and cherry fruit. The sumptuous bouquet is accompanied by a full-bodied wine displaying dazzling purity, sweet tannin, and a long, opulent finish. This beauty will be drinkable at a relatively early age for a 2005. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2025." (04/2008)

2005 Williams Selyem "Rochioli Riverblock" Russian River Valley Pinot Noir
Bid on this bottle of 2005 Williams Selyem "Rochioli Riverblock" Russian River Valley Pinot Noir (96CG, 95WE, 93ST, 92WS, 90RP). Connoisseurs Guide: " *Three Stars* Not only the best of a very fine lot from Williams Selyem, but our pick as one of the best Pinot Noirs of recent memory, this wonderfully deep, broadly fruited wine sets the bar of achievement at a dizzying height. Winning very high marks for both its fruity precision and carefully crafting, it is on the one hand enveloping and easy to access and, on the other, a layered and very sophisticated opus. We can only guess that it will become even better over time because it is a show-stopping glassful right now, and its very keen balance absolutely insures that it has much life ahead of it." Bid on this bottle of 2005 Poujeaux, Moulis (93WE, 91W&S). Wine Enthusiast: " An intensely ripe, fruity wine, which is already well integrated. The intense dark fruits are supported by some new wood and grainy tannins. This is powerful, and, with its acidity, should age well. " (06/2006)

2005 Bodegas El Nido "Clio" Jumilla
Bid on this bottle of 2005 Bodegas El Nido "Clio" Jumilla. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2005 Clio, composed of 70% old-vine Monastrell and 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, is opaque purple-colored with an enthralling bouquet of pain grille, spice box, violets, espresso, blueberry, and blackberry. Layered, opulent, and full-flavored, this thick wine has superb concentration and balance. It will evolve for 6-8 years and drink well through 2025. The winemaking at the El Nido project is overseen by renowned Australian vigneron Chris Ringland. After a meticulous selection process, the grapes are basket pressed and fermented in oak. Malolactic fermentation occurs in new French and American oak where the wine remains for 26 months. (JM)"

2005 Brane-Cantenac, Margaux
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2005 Brane-Cantenac, Margaux (94RP, 94WE, 92WS, 91ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This is the finest Brane-Cantenac I have tasted in over thirty years. Unusually perfumed and already approachable (atypical for most 2005 Medocs), it reveals a deep plum/purple color as well as a stunningly flamboyant bouquet of smoked herbs, licorice, camphor, black cherries, currants, and notions of plums and blackberries. Elegant with silky tannin and medium body, it is clearly a classic statement on the Margaux appellation. While not a powerhouse, it is beautifully concentrated, stunningly balanced, and surprisingly forward. It could be drunk now after several hours of decanting, but it should age easily for 20+ years." 2005 Clos de Sarpe, St-Emilion
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2005 Clos de Sarpe, St-Emilion (95RP, (89-92ST)). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Clearly a wine made for future generations, Clos de Sarpe, with its tendency for tiny yields of under 25 hectoliters per hectare, has fashioned a 1,000 case blend of 85% Merlot and the rest old vine Cabernet Franc. Over recent vintages, this wine has been among the most concentrated and formidably tannic and backward made in Bordeaux. A claret for those with 19th century tastes, it offers good purity, ripe tannin, and an extraordinary display of concentration, extract, power, and tannic clout. The 2005 is a mammoth yet incredibly well-balanced St.-Emilion that represents an anomaly in modern day winemaking. It is a pleasure to see a proprietor push the envelope and create a wine that will be appreciated for 40-50 years. Classic sweet black cherry, licorice, roasted herb, and underbrush characteristics are present in this formidable, full-bodied, powerful wine. 95+ points. (RP)"

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2005 Frédéric Esmonin Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru "Lavaux St-Jacques" ((89-92BH), 91WS, 90ST). Allen Meadows - Burghound: " *Outstanding* A background touch of wood frames the very ripe though still elegant upper register red Pinot fruit aromas that give way to full, sweet and somewhat bigger and more robust medium plus weight flavors that offer good depth if less overall finesse. There is more muscle and punch here and this is very Gevrey in character and style. Very solid quality and also recommended." (01/2007)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2005 Pride Mountain "Vintners Select Cuvée" Sonoma County Merlot (94RP, 93ST, 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2005 Merlot Vintner’s Select is a dense, full-bodied red wine that stains the teeth and fills the mouth with notes of chocolate, mocha, roasted espresso, blackberries, and sweet cherries. This whopper of a Merlot is dense, chewy, and oozing with fruit and glycerin. Consume this stunning 2005 over the next decade. (RP)" (12/2007)

2005 Massolino "Parafada" Barolo
Bid on this bottle of 2005 Massolino "Parafada" Barolo (93RP, 92W&S, 91WE, 91WS, 90ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2005 Barolo Parafada is gorgeous in this vintage. The Parafada is the only Barolo here that sees French oak, and although the estate has lowered the percentage of new oak, the smaller barrels give this wine an explosive quality that is all its own. In 2005 the Parafada is all about textural richness rather than delineation, but it reveals an enveloping, sensual personality with attractive warmth that carries through all the way to the long, smooth finish. This beautifully balanced, sublime Barolo is another wonderful effort from the Massolino brothers. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2025. " (04/2009)

2005 La Dauphine, Fronsac
Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2005 La Dauphine, Fronsac (90RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "It’s amazing how good this wine has become since the property was sold by the Jean-Pierre Moueix firm to Jean Halley. The outstanding, sexy, full-bodied 2005 is a 5,000-case blend of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc. With beautiful purity, symmetry, and power as well as elegance, it is a fresh, full, soft Fronsac with sensational concentration and depth. It can be drunk now or cellared for 10-15 years." 2005 Domaine Gros Frère et Soeur Richebourg Grand Cru

Intense, full-bodied, and deep, with fabulous purity, texture, and freshness as well as a 40+ second finish, this may be the finest Moulin-St.-Georges Vauthier has yet produced.
