Bid on this 2-magnum lot of 2005 Louis Jadot Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru (1.5L) (94BH, 94WS, 93ST). Wine Spectator: "Ripe, broad and powerful, this creamy-textured white packs lime blossom, pear, sweet corn and butterscotch into an ample frame. A mineral note emerges as this glides to the long finish. Very vibrant and alive, but needs a few more years to really hit its stride. " (08/2007)

2006 Perrot-Minot Chapelle-Chambertin Grand Cru Vieilles Vignes
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2006 Perrot-Minot Chapelle-Chambertin Grand Cru Vieilles Vignes (94RP, 93WS, 92BH, (90-92ST)). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The fruit for Perrot-Minot's 2006 Chapelle-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes, he reports, took two days of sorting, berry-by-berry, to avoid any taint of hail. Intensely-concentrated blackberry, cassis, peat, and savory, salted beef stock inform a seamlessly-rich, plush palate whose fine tannins have been almost completely sublimated. But for all of its density, when compared with the premier cru bottlings here this year, this Chapelle displays tension and vivacity that set up an enervating interplay of finishing flavors without depriving the taster of one bit of the succulence and juiciness promised on the mid-palate. This kinetic, tiny-berried, multi-boned grand cru reduction should be worth following for 12-15 years. (DS)" (12/2009)

Bid on this 11-bottle lot of 2010 Domaine Paul Pernot Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru "Folatières" (93ST, 92BH). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Bright straw-yellow. Musky aromas of lime, menthol, hazelnut and smoke. Dense and chewy but light on its feet; suave, intense and saline wine with a dusty finish that really perks up the taste buds. Offering less floral perfume today than the 2011 but this is deeper, chewier and more serious, not to mention more concentrated. A wine of outstanding finesse." (09/2012)

Bid on this 12-bottle lot of 2006 Domaine Leflaive Bienvenues Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru (OWC - (91-94BH), 93ST) in original wood. Allen Meadows - Burghound: " *Don't Miss!* Here the nose is quite similar to that of the Pucelles, particularly with its honeysuckle and citrus aromas that are perhaps ever so slightly less ripe while leading to rich, concentrated and slightly more focused and delineated medium full flavors that explode on the palate staining finish. I like the energy here as well as the underlying sense of harmony of expression." (07/2008)

Allen Meadows - Burghound: "This is discreetly floral with an elegant, refined and dense nose of red berry fruit, earth and wisps of anise and clove that precede textured, fresh and mouth coating medium plus weight flavors that possess good richness and solid power, punch, depth and length. Though it would not be my recommendation, this is sufficiently forward that it could actually be drunk now with sufficient aeration." (01/2010)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1996 Domaine Armand Rousseau Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru "Clos Saint Jacques" (96RP, 92ST, 91BH). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "How good is this? Well, it embarrassed the glass of La Tache 1990 before it! The nose reminds me of the Chambertin 1996 from Rousseau, dark black cherry fruit, blackberry leaf, a touch of tar and sous-bois coming through. The palate has a firm structure, less fleshy than the 1995, more masculine with great length and grip. Superb fruit concentration with more blackberry, cassis flavours towards the finish. This has so much vibrancy and charm, with the depth to suggest a long future. Drink now-2020+. Tasted May 2008. (NM-Wine Journal)" (07/2008)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Ripe red fruits jump from the glass of the 1998 Vosne-Romanee aux Reignots. This medium-bodied, complex, palate-coating wine is concentrated, deep, and luscious. Sweet candied cherries are found throughout its supple character and long finish. (PR)" (06/2000)

Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Strong reduction makes the nose impossible to evaluate but the full-bodied flavors are impressively powerful yet they are unusually accessible for a young Bonnes Mares with fine intensity, persistence and a balanced finish. This is not an especially big wine by the typical standards of the appellation but the focus and detail are excellent." (01/2010)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2004 Bouchard Père et Fils Chambertin-Clos de Bèze Grand Cru ((93-95BH), 95ST, 95WE). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Good bright dark red. Initially reticent aromas of cherry, cola, flowers, pepper and sweet oak. Dense and fine-grained but youthfully imploded, with a strong stony minerality keeping the red cherry, bitter chocolate and floral flavors under wraps. Finishes very juicy and very long, with intriguing pepper and floral nuances. The recorked bottle 24 hours later showed brilliantly complex aromas and flavors of black raspberry, bitter chocolate, rose petal and minerals and superb sappy persistence. A great expression of soil and a highlight of the vintage. I promise you that I drained the bottle to the last drop." (04/2001)

2005 Domaine Gros Frère et Soeur Richebourg Grand Cru
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2005 Domaine Gros Frère et Soeur Richebourg Grand Cru (95ST, 94BH). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "8 barrels made, vs. a normal 11 or 12) Full red-ruby, not quite as dark as the other grand crus at this address. Reticent but wild nose hints at black raspberry, minerals and game. At once powerful and suave, with terrific inner-palate tension and sneaky intensity of dark fruit and violet flavor. Finishes impressively long, with thoroughly buffered, fine-grained tannins. Gros prefers wines that combine power and roundness, and he ventured the opinion that only grand crus can give the sweetness with strength that he prizes." (03/2007)

Sexy aromas of blackberry, blueberry, licorice, minerals and violet. Wonderfully precise and vibrant, with terrific cut to its intense flavors of dark berries and violet. Captivating aromas of dark raspberry, licorice, underbrush and truffle. Supple, silky and sweet, with uncanny depth for a wine from this vintage. Highly concentrated flavors of cherry, spice and black licorice; really fat with sweet fruit, and distinctly fruitier today than the Griottes. Broad and full but with zero heaviness. Very long finishing flavors of spice and licorice. An incredible performance in the context of the year. And structured to last. " (03/2007)

Bid on this bottle of 2011 Domaine Joseph Drouhin Griotte-Chambertin Grand Cru ((92-94BH), 92RP, (90-92ST)). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "This is very reduced though there is good freshness and verve to the notably rich and generous medium-bodied flavors that display enough minerality to add lift to the taut and muscular finish that packs plenty of punch but not rusticity. This is markedly austere and exceptionally serious and I would also describe this as very old school. I would advise buying this only with the intention of cellaring it for the long-term." Allen Meadows - Burghound: "More aromatically expressive and slightly riper with textured, precise and detailed flavors that are on the light side for a Clos de Vougeot and while there is nothing wrong with trading elegance for power, especially when there is good intensity like there is here, I worry when the phenolic maturity is limited. As with the Echézeaux, my score offers the benefit of the doubt that this will round out and deepen with moderate bottle age." (01/2006)

2009 Domaine Olivier Guyot Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru "Champeaux"
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2009 Domaine Olivier Guyot Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru "Champeaux". This wine is from Olivier Guyot. He is considered somewhat eccentric by some of his neighbors, as he has sold his tractor and gone back to horse farming his vineyards. He feels it is better for the land, and that he gets better fruit from doing so. The grapes are hand-harvested, of course, and the wine is bottled without filtration. The domaine has passed from father to son since the 16th century, and the vines are 35 to 40 years old. Olivier punches the wine down 2 to 4 times per day for 14 days during fermentation to encourage maximum extraction and color. This is a big, focused Gevrey, which will not be mistaken for one of the light-colored modern wines! If you like lots of flavor and color, do not miss this exquisitely hand-crafted Burgundy at a great price for a Premier Cru.

The rich, powerful and opulent big-bodied flavors possess a taut muscularity and seemingly endless reserves of dry extract that relegate the otherwise very firm tannic spine to the background. In particular, I admire the flawless balance on the imposingly persistent finish." (06/2010)

Slightly inky aromas of black cherry, currant, roast coffee and pungent oak. Extremely primary, almost grapey, but already boasts great clarity and intensity of flavor. Powerful minerality contributes to the wine definition and grip. Offers the medium weight and compelling laciness of texture of this grand cru. Less expressive today than the Clos de la Roche but perhaps ultimately more noble. Finishes firmly tannic, with great subtle persistence. A superb early showing for this wine. (ST)" (04/2001)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Also still in barrel when I last tasted it, the Le Moine 2006 Vosne-Romanee Les Malconsorts plays Cazetiers to the Les Suchot's Lavaux St.-Jacques, this being a Pinot of surprisingly white wine-like refreshment, brightness, lift, and even fruit character - the last thing I would in fact have expected from the site. Pear and musk melon as well as cherry and rhubarb are garnished with mint, narcissus, peat, and black tea. This is pure silk in the mouth - 'where are the tannins?' I find myself asking, agog. Imagine a Platonic - almost spiritual - Pinot, mingled with Riesling and Highland Malt Whisky. It would represent more an expression of wonder and a further attempt to capture this wine's nature than it would be a mean-spirited jibe to say that - for now, at least - it leaves its outstanding 2005 couterpart in the dust. All of the wines from this small family domaine come from the village of Chambolle-Musigny, and that dedication means outstanding wines with a real sense of place. Winemaker Michel Digioia is the third generation of his family to run the estate, having taken over from his mother-in-law in 1999. He began bottling all of the wine himself in 2003. His wines have consistently been in the finest league in Chambolle, and this wine particularly impressed me for its power and opulence at the Grands Jours tasting of most of the wines of Chambolle Musigny. Lemon, lime, minerals and vanillin oak on the nose and palate, along with an appley trace of malic acidity. Begins chewy and brisk but turns creamier with air. Plenty of extract here. " (09/2011)

2001 Domaine Comte Georges de Vogüé Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru
Bid on this bottle of 2001 Domaine Comte Georges de Vogüé Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru (91BH, 90RP). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "This is slowing transforming itself into a really lovely wine of weight, depth and intensity with a richly detailed, expressive nose and impressively pure and harmonious flavors that offer superb clarity of expression. This is a classical Burgundy lover's dream with linearity, purity, harmony and simply knock out delineation plus a subtle complexity that is finesse personified. Consistent notes and this is one of those wine that has such balance that it can easily be enjoyed now or held for further development. Personally, I would advise holding it for a few more years but as I note, it can certainly be drunk now with pleasure." (07/2013)

2008 Etienne Sauzet Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru
Bid on this bottle of 2008 Etienne Sauzet Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru (96BH, 94ST). Allen Meadows - Burghound: " *Don't Miss!* A notably more elegant, cooler and more reserved nose of white flower, green apple and ample minerality complements to perfection the silky-textured, pure and stylish medium weight plus flavors that possess excellent volume but also wonderful detail and punch while culminating in an intensely mineral finish of superb intensity while remaining a study in purity and refinement. This is one of those 'wow' wines that amazes through transparency and delicacy rather than brute force. Still, don't be fooled by the finesse as the intensity is such that a deep breath is required after sampling this." (06/2010)

2007 Domaine Heresztyn Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Horizontal
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2007 Domaine Heresztyn Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Horizontal, including 1-bottle of 2007 Domaine Heresztyn Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru "La Perrière" (90BH) and 1-bottle of 2007 Domaine Heresztyn Gevery-Chambertin 1er Cru "Les Corbeaux" ((89-91BH)). Of the 2007 Domaine Heresztyn Gevery-Chambertin 1er Cru "Les Corbeaux",Allen Meadows - Burghound writes: " *Outstanding* Here the aromatic profile is completely different as this is much more in the mode of a classic Gevrey with its intensely animale and ripe dark berry fruit nose cut with warm earth, jerky and underbrush aromas that merge into very fresh, rich, round and admirably pure medium full flavors that are seductively textured, powerful and lingering. This is less elegant but there's more Gevrey character as well as more depth." (01/2009)

2010 Domaine Chandon de Briailles Corton Grand Cru "Clos du Roi"
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2010 Domaine Chandon de Briailles Corton Grand Cru "Clos du Roi" ((93-96ST), 94BH). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Good medium red. Floral, rather delicate nose. Then sappy and expressive on the palate, with a distinctly high-toned impression to the flavors of flowers, exotic spices and minerals. The soil is like that of Corton-Charlemagne just above it, notes Claude de Nicolay, which is what gives the wine its firm acidity and limestone character. Boasts terrific tension without any impression of weight. Finishes with splendid mineral density and outstanding subtle, mounting length. The crop level here was just 15 hectoliters per hectare and the wine was aged in two 350-liter, six-year-old barrels from Domaine Dujac. Leaves the salivary glands quivering. This wine and the Bressandes should go on for decades." (01/2012)

2010 Paul Pernot Puligny Montrachet Clos de la Garenne
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2010 Paul Pernot Puligny Montrachet Clos de la Garenne (91BH, (87-90ST)). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "This is considerably tighter than the Meursault-Blagny as here too there is a touch of unintegrated sulfur that diminishes the expressiveness of the acacia blossom and lemon rind-infused nose. There is an intense minerality to the beautifully detailed middle weight flavors that exhibit fine complexity and excellent persistence on the balanced finish. Lovely." (06/2012)

2005 Claude Dugat Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2005 Claude Dugat Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru (95ST, 94BH, 93RP). Stephen Tanzer: "Full red-ruby. Superripe, highly complex aromas of dark cherry, coffee, mocha and minerals, all lifted by a floral topnote that I did not find in any of Dugat's other '05s. Dense, sweet and superripe but with lovely perfume and freshness to the dark fruit flavors. A whiff of menthol and a sappy quality give lift to this 300-pound ballerina. Rather open today in the mid-palate, but surely this will shut down in the bottle soon. Finishes broad, fruity and very long, with no sign of heat."

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2004 Domaine Louis Jadot Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru "Demoiselles" (95ST). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Ineffable aromas of powdered stone, violet, lemon, lime and sea salt. Precise and penetrating wine, with outstanding clarity, energy and cut. Subtle but endlessly complex flavors of crushed stone, citrus peel, hazelnut, flowers and spices. Conveys an impression of chewy extract and yet seems utterly weightless. Wonderfully gripping wine but not austere or hard. This must be one of the longest wines of the vintage. Boasts great inner-mouth energy and lift." (09/2006)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2008 Domaine Armand Rousseau Ruchottes Chambertin Grand Cru "Clos des Ruchottes" ((92-93RP), 92BH, 91ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Dramatically site-typical in its pungent scents of peat, Latakia tobacco, smoked meats, and licorice, the Rousseau 2008 Ruchottes-Chambertin Clos des Ruchottes offers a rich yet vibrant amalgam of dark cherry, licorice, and tobacco on smoothly polished yet palpably extract-rich palate. Peat, chalk and bittersweet herbal and cherry pit notes help extend an energetically gripping finish. I would feel confident in planning to age this for 12-15 years. " (06/2010)

The supple, sweet and notably broad shouldered flavors offer excellent concentration and focus culminating in a finish that offers superb depth. This is a classy effort that will age well over the next 15 years or so, perhaps longer." (01/2006)

2007 Domaine Comte de Vogüé Bonnes Mares Grand Cru
Bid on this bottle of 2007 Domaine Comte de Vogüé Bonnes Mares Grand Cru (94RP, 93BH, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "De Vogue’s 2007 Bonnes Mares calls to mind sweet-tart black raspberry candies and herbal lozenges, along with notes of brown spices and smoky black tea. Rich, sedate, and provocatively sweet and perfumed, this manages simultaneously to preserve a saline savor and suggestion of lobster shell reduction that precludes anyone calling it a 'fruit bomb.' The smoky and--for lack of a better covering term-- 'mineral' elements accompany this Bonnes Mares' soothing finish all the way to its distant end. No doubt there is at least a decade’s worth of seduction and intrigue on hand, but here too, I would not hesitate to relish them significantly sooner. (DS)" (06/2010)
