69% Vermentino, 27% French Colombard, 4% Chardonnay Vermentino was harvested between July 31st and August 6th, 2014 at 18-19.3º brix. The Chardonnay was August 8th at 19.3º brix and the French Colombard on September 6th at 22º brix.

Maybe they should rename this wine 'Simply Yum,' since it's hardly a conundrum anymore. Once again a blend of popular and esoteric white grapes (including in no special order: Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon, Viognier and Muscat), this a quintessential sipper offering copious amounts of ripe, silky fruit, tropical in nature, along with vanilla notes, honeysuckle and melon.
This very small production wine comes from an equally small, 100-plus year old vineyard planting of Chasselas Doré at Pagani Ranch in Sonoma Valley. Made by winemaker Mike Berthoud (pronounced bear-two), formerly winemaker at Arrowood and currently the winemaker at Mayo Family Wines. An homage to Berthoud's Swiss roots, this unique white is made from the same varietal as the famed Swiss wine Fendent du Valais, and can also be found in small amounts in Pouilly-Fumé (named Pouilly-sur-Loire) and the Savoie's Crépy. From the Winery; Another first release for Lumen, this lush white wine from Camp 4 Vineyard in Los Olivos is a real beauty. Made from 100% Grenache Blanc, red Grenache's light-skinned cousin. Barrel fermented in two-thirds stainless steel and one-third neutral oak barrels. Aromas reminiscent of fresh-spun cotton candy and sweet jasmine, with flavors of lemon curd and honey on the palate. Wet stone mineral notes linger through the finish. 260 cases produced.

A low alcohol Moscato crafted from Muscat Canelli grapes grown at Mondavi's Wappo Hill Vineyard in Napa Valley's Stags Leap District. From the winery: "Catching your attention immediately are the seductively rich peach and lychee fruit, orange blossom, and jasmine aromas of this sweet wine. The Moscato's wonderfully balanced acidity meets this intense flavor with a perfectly refreshing lift as the concentrated flavors ride across the palate in an ultra-rich wave."
After three decades, Edmunds St. John has a devoted following that seek out Steve Edmunds wines where "the earth speaks." This limited production white is based in Vermentino from the Fenaughty Vineyard in California's El Dorado Hills.
Antonio Galloni: "The 2012 Muscat Alexandria Jackass Hill is a bit of an oddity, as it emerges from Muscat vines that are planted throughout Jackass Hill, suggesting the white grapes might have once been part of a field blend. Abrente is a joint project between Michael Havens and Bedrock Wine Company's Morgan Twain-Peterson. Inspired by the wines of the Iberian Peninsula, it's fresh and crisp and unbelievably delicious. The grapes come from the Stewart Ranch in Carneros. The 2013 vintage has not yet been professionally reviewed, but the 2012 bottling garnered 90 points from Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar.

90 points Wine & Spirits: "**Best Buy** Once ubiquitous in California, Colombard is native to Gascony, where Yannick Rousseau grew up. He makes this from 40-year-old vines in the Russian River Valley. It’s relatively neutral but also brisk and mouthwatering, with the refreshing chlorophyll tones of cucumber skin. The Roussanne fruit was harvested very mature, however at lower sugar levels than expected. The wine was cold fermented in stainless steel tanks to fully express its true varietal characteristics of honey dew melon, stone fruit and crushed white flowers. Apricot and mineral notes highlight the palate leading to a rich, creamy body reminiscent of a nutmeg spiced lemon meringue. A well balanced finish features approachable acidity highlighted by flavors of Pommello fruit and wild clover honey.
Bright and vibrant and orange in color with perfect clarity. Almost Neon in appearance. The nose is has aromas of citrus peel, jasmine, rose, fresh cut grass, black tea and honey. Tannin backed by racy acidity with minerals, peach flesh, orange, coconut, and marzipan. It is clean, precise and balanced. The finish has yeast (lees), tannin, vanilla and honeysuckle. Aromatic in the finish leaving the earthy and woody flavors on the palate long after each sip with lingering citrus peel.
