2006 Terralsole Brunello di Montalcino (Elsewhere $55)

93 points James Suckling: "Very pretty, rich and subtle flavors of dried fruits such as sultanas, with a delicate coffee note. Full and silky with a long, long finish. Lots going on here. Drink now, but it will improve for many years to come." (7/2011)92 points Wine Enthusiast: "Brunello is the perfect winter wine to enjoy by a roaring fire with friends or a romantic partner. This expression from Terralsole is particularly well suited to this happy fate thanks to its silky, soft nature, firm tannins, spice aromas and bursting fruit tones. (ML)" (4/2011)91 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2006 Brunello di Montalcino is an attractive, fleshy w ...Read More »

2006 Ferrero Brunello di Montalcino

92 points James Suckling: "A rich and fruity wine with lots of tannins underneath. Full and rich, with dried cherries and blueberries. Round and chewy. Pretty pure fruit." (1/2011)92 points Wine Spectator: "A polished Brunello, offering black cherry and blackberry flavors that mesh with the generous texture, ending with a spicy finish. Not a big red, and the serious tannins need time to integrate, so the wine should only become more elegant as it develops. Best from 2014 through 2026." (10/2011)91 points Wine Enthusiast: "This dark Brunello by Ferrero offers a nice ensemble of mineral and graphite notes followed by mature berry fruit an ...Read More »

2006 Lisini Brunello di Montalcino

93 points James Suckling: "What a dreamy nose of crushed berries and dried flowers. Perfumes too. Then changes to Indian spices and dark fruits. Full bodied, with super well integrated tannins and a classy, long finish. So well integrated. Just a joy to taste. Better in 2013." (1/2011)92 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Good deep red. Aromas of crushed cherry, minerals and pungent smoke. Intense red berry and spice flavors are framed by strong but integrated acidity. Not at all overly sweet but broad, rich and concentrated. Classy, floral sangiovese with superb energy and lift, and the structure to support a slow and ...Read More »

2006 Friggiali Brunello di Montalcino (Elsewhere $50+) Back In Stock!
2006 Friggiali Brunello di Montalcino (Elsewhere $50+)

93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2006 Brunello di Montalcino is by far the best wine I have tasted from Friggiali. There is a vibrancy to the fruit and finesse to the tannins that elevate this Brunello well above the customary level at this address. This translucent, medium-bodied Brunello impresses for its articulated bouquet, well-delineated fruit and overall sense of harmony. I loved it. Subtle hints of licorice, menthol, earthiness and French oak linger on the round, impeccable finish. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2026. (AG)" (5/2011)91 points Wine Enthusiast: "This Brunello is characterized by dark, dense ex ...Read More »

2006 Argiano Brunello di Montalcino Back In Stock!
2006 Argiano Brunello di Montalcino

93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate "The 2006 Brunello di Montalcino is a gorgeous wine laced with red cherries, tobacco, cedar and underbrush, all supported by a firm tannic spine. Argiano's 2006 Brunello shows beautiful inner perfume and the structure to develop positively for a number of years. Floral notes appear on the vibrant, polished finish. The estate's Brunello spent 12 months in French oak (which is mostly felt in the wine's textural richness) and completed its aging in cask. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2024." (05/11) 92 points James Suckl... Read More »

2006 Uccelliera Brunello di Montalcino
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2006 Uccelliera Brunello di Montalcino (96JS, 96RP, 94WE, 93WS, 91ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: " In the first flight of five, #3 had by far the darkest color. Deep, rich, sweet, fruit-filled, and oaky nose is very sexy and dramatic. Lots of black cherry, pepper, minerals, leather, and chocolate. Equally dramatic in the mouth; clearly a youthful Brunello in the modern camp. We are particularly impressed with this wine’s mouth feel, which envelops the palate. Big and brawny with tannin to shed and very good acidity. Long, powerful, consistent finish. Already impressive, yet a great candidate for the cellar! Not to everyone’s taste, still, half the room fell in love with #3. (Executive Wine Seminar)" (03/2012)

2006 Villa Poggio Salvi Brunello di Montalcino Riserva (Pre-Arrival)

92 points Wine Enthusiast: "This is a broad, masculine Brunello with layers of spice, leather, Spanish cedar, cola and cured meat. The mouthfeel is streamlined and elegant, with crisp acidity and a solidly tannic base." (5/2012)92 points Wine Spectator: "Ripe and powerful, boasting black cherry, plum, tea and woodsy flavors. A huge wall of tannins backs it all up, and the finish is mouthcoating, if on the dry side. Give it some time." (9/2012)91 points James Suckling: "A solid 2006 with ripe-fruit and cedar character. Full body with chewy tannins and a flavorful finish. Needs another two to three years to soften." (10/2014)
