2010 Biondi-Santi (Tenuta Greppo) Rosso di Montalcino
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2010 Biondi-Santi (Tenuta Greppo) Rosso di Montalcino (91RP, 89AG). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2010 Rosso di Montalcino opens to a brilliant ruby color and tightly focused aromas of forest berry, white almond, cola, bramble and anisette. It exhibits a stunning sense of lightness and buoyancy. Of course, that characteristic note of acidic freshness and menthol makes for a resounding finish and is testament of the enormous quality of fruit in 2010. Drink: 2014-2022. " (02/2014)

2007 Domenico Clerico "Ciabot Mentin" Barolo
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2007 Domenico Clerico "Ciabot Mentin" Barolo (98RP, 95JS, 95ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2007 Barolo Ciabot Mentin is one of the greatest wines I have ever tasted at this address. Deep, sensual layers of fruit flow from the glass as this full-throttle, intense Barolo reveals its profound, breathtaking personality. The 2007 shows tons of Ginestra nuance, but with extra dimensions to the fruit that literally covers every nook and cranny of the palate. Tasting this next to the 2006 is quite a comparison, as both wines are fabulous. Readers who can should be sure to own bottles of both. A side-by-side comparison is sure to be fascinating as the wines develop over the coming years. Astute readers will note the slight name change here, which is the result of new regulations that require the use of the historic vineyard name, in this case Ginestra, or a proprietary name. Call me nostalgic, but it is sad to see one of the iconic labels in Barolo disappea

Bid on this bottle of 1997 Vietti Barolo Riserva "Villero" (95RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1997 Barolo Riserva Villero is at the early part of its drinking window. It shows drop-dead gorgeous intensity and marvelous inner perfume, all supported by plenty of tannic heft. This is pure Villero and pure 1997, both at their very best. The fruit builds with considerable momentum to the glorious finish. The 1997 is another wine in which only one of the two Villero parcels was vinified. Anticipated maturity: 2011-2021." (09/2011)

1995 Biondi-Santi "Il Greppo" Brunello di Montalcino
Bid on this bottle of 1995 Biondi-Santi "Il Greppo" Brunello di Montalcino. From Robert Parker's The Wine Advocate: "Biondi Santi is a renowned name across the world, yet it remains an anachronistic wine, at odds with the vogue for rich, fruit-laden Brunello's that are lavished in new oak. Since the 19th century, the estate's raison d'être has been to fashion long-lasting wines, built to age over a century." (Producer Profile) and "A visit to Il Greppo is always fascinating, as the estate is literally packed with history at every corner. The old casks, some of which date to the late 1800s, the collection of rare bottles and the impeccably clean, traditionally outfitted cellar are all worth a look." (05/2011)

2006 Vietti "Lazzarito" Barolo
Bid on this bottle of 2006 Vietti "Lazzarito" Barolo (97RP, 93ST, 93WS, 91JS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2006 Barolo Lazzarito has begun to show the pedigree of this great Serralunga site now that Vietti has backed off the French oak, and the 2006 is nothing short of superb. A melange of dark, mineral-infused fruit flows from the glass as the large-scaled Lazzarito gradually shows off its class. Licorice, tar, smoke and earthiness add layers of complexity and nuance. The Lazzarito is still the Barolo that spends the longest number of months in French oak following the malolactic fermentation, but that period is down to several months from a full year the wine spent in small barrels up until 2001 or so. One day the Lazzarito may challenge the Rocche as Vietti’s signature Barolo, and that day may be closer than most people realize. This huge, imposing Barolo will require patience, but it is nothing short of superb. (AG)" (02/2010)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1996 Ceretto "Bricco Rocche" Barolo ((92-96RP), 95WS, 93ST, 93W&S). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This wine exhibits a saturated ruby color with purple nuances. Additionally, it is rich, with lots of extract, tannin, and body. Ceretto's opaque ruby/purple-colored 1996 Barolo Bricco Rocche is sensational stuff. It combines explosive levels of fruit, glycerin, and extract with an uncanny sense of elegance and finesse. There are copious quantities of black cherry fruit, intermixed with raspberries, cedar, spicy oak, licorice, and tar. (RP)" (08/1999)

2004 Aldo Conterno "Romirasco" Barolo
Bid on this bottle of 2004 Aldo Conterno "Romirasco" Barolo (95RP, 94ST, 94WE, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "There is no need to taste the 2004 Barolo Romirasco, the nose alone is enough to understand that this is magnificent wine. Aromas of tar, roses, menthol, scorched earth and smoke lead to a core of dark red fruit than unfolds onto the palate with uncommon grace and elegance. As it sits in the glass the wine gradually puts on weight, filling out its considerably structured frame with notable class. The last Romirasco was made in 1993. This bottling has typically only been made in vintages where quality is not sufficient for the family to make their top of the line Riserva Granbussia, as was the case in 2004....Anticipated maturity: 2009-2024. At the same time, it is one of the bigger 2004s from Tuscany readers will come across. Dark red berries, flowers, spices and menthol are layered into the finish. 2001 Villa Fidelia Rosso Sportoletti
Bid on this bottle of 2001 Villa Fidelia Rosso Sportoletti (95RP, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The estate’s top wine, the 2001 Villa Fidelia Rosso, a Bordeaux blend in which, unlike the first versions, the Cabernet now tends to predominate, is simply superlative, with only the 1999 among the past vintages arriving close to its level. A deep, glowing ruby red, its superbly ripe nose of black currants and raspberries, graphite, tar, and licorice is supported by a dense, sensual, caressing palate, deep and velvety, outstanding in its definition, focus, and balance. A cunning wine, deceptively ready but with an important aging potential in its packed structure, it will provide immense pleasure between 2005 and 2020." (04/2004)
