Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2010 Rosso di Montalcino opens to a brilliant ruby color and tightly focused aromas of forest berry, white almond, cola, bramble and anisette. It exhibits a stunning sense of lightness and buoyancy. Of course, that characteristic note of acidic freshness and menthol makes for a resounding finish and is testament of the enormous quality of fruit in 2010. Drink: 2014-2022. " (02/2014)

2006 Quilceda Creek Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2006 Quilceda Creek Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (98WE, 96RP, 95ST, 94WS). Wine Enthusiast: "The 2006 flagship Cabernet from Quilceda Creek is a massive wine that has just begun to emerge from its slumber. When first released the wine seemed to have entered a dumb phase, but six months later it responds to decanting and shows its muscle. Fruit flavors of black, brandied cherries, cassis and bourbon-soaked plums are wrapped in generous, layered oak. The wine is dusty, smoky, laced with streaks of licorice and brightened with sharp acids. It continues to expand further in the glass, adding flesh and spice to its frame, with a cedar/cigar box finish." (03/2010)

Of the 2011 Rhys "Home Vineyard" San Mateo County Pinot Noir,Antonio Galloni writes: "The 2011 Pinot Noir Home Vineyard bursts from glass with racy red berries, flowers, smoke, licorice, incense and orange peel. Exotic, beguiling and beautifully layered, the 2011 boasts stunning depth, yet weightless elegance and tons of pure personality. The racy, explosive finish is a marvel to behold. An utterly dazzling Pinot, the 2011 should drink well for years. It is one of the few California Pinots I would bet on to age gracefully for more than a decade. This dazzling Pinot Noir has pedigree and structure to burn. In a word: superb! Home was the first parc

2011 Saxum "James Berry Vineyard" Paso Robles Rhône Blend
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2011 Saxum "James Berry Vineyard" Paso Robles Rhône Blend (96AG, 96RP, 94ST, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Reminding me of a top 2010 Chateauneuf du Pape (the 2010 Raymond Usseglio Cuvee Imperiale to be exact), the 2011 James Berry Vineyard is a blend of 69% Grenache, 13% Mourvedre, 13% Syrah, 2% Counoise, and a splash of Roussanne, that was aged in a combination of concrete (Grenache) and larger oak puncheons. A fresh, detailed and more elegant example of the cuvee, it offers gorgeous notes of ripe berry fruit, loads of exotic spice, violets, pepper and lavender to go with a full-bodied, beautifully pure and layered profile on the palate. It’s no blockbuster, but has loads of energy and tension, as well as class and refinement. Give it 2-3 years in the cellar and enjoy it over the following decade or longer. (JD)" (08/2014)

Bid on this bottle of 2013 Aubert "Ritchie Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Chardonnay ((96-98RP), 97AG). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "From Aubert’s oldest vines, the 2013 Chardonnay Ritchie (1,000 cases produced) is made from the 40-year-old Chardonnay clone called Old Wente. Candied citrus, wet rocks, Granny Smith apples, white peach and honeysuckle notes are found in this full-bodied, prodigious Chardonnay with crisp acidity buttressing the viscous, full-throttle style. Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2005 Erna Schein "Behrens Famiily Reserve" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend ((92-94RP), 92ST, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2005 Behrens Family Reserve is a 400-case blend of 31% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Cabernet Franc, 23% Merlot, and the rest Petit Verdot. A saturated ruby/purple color and blackberry as well as charcoal notes emerge from this full-bodied 2005. 2007 Domenico Clerico "Ciabot Mentin" Barolo
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2007 Domenico Clerico "Ciabot Mentin" Barolo (98RP, 95JS, 95ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2007 Barolo Ciabot Mentin is one of the greatest wines I have ever tasted at this address. Deep, sensual layers of fruit flow from the glass as this full-throttle, intense Barolo reveals its profound, breathtaking personality. The 2007 shows tons of Ginestra nuance, but with extra dimensions to the fruit that literally covers every nook and cranny of the palate. Tasting this next to the 2006 is quite a comparison, as both wines are fabulous. Readers who can should be sure to own bottles of both. A side-by-side comparison is sure to be fascinating as the wines develop over the coming years. Astute readers will note the slight name change here, which is the result of new regulations that require the use of the historic vineyard name, in this case Ginestra, or a proprietary name. Call me nostalgic, but it is sad to see one of the iconic labels in Barolo disappea

2006 Alban "Seymour's Vineyard" Edna Valley Syrah
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2006 Alban "Seymour's Vineyard" Edna Valley Syrah (98RP, 96ST, 96WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The succession of prodigious Syrahs continues with the 2006 Syrah Seymour’s Vineyard (named after John Alban’s father). An infant in terms of development, it exhibits a smoky meatiness along with a forest floor character as well as its siblings’ colossal level of concentration, enormous, multilayered texture, and skyscraper-like mouthfeel. Remarkably, there is no sense of heaviness. Another tour de force in Central Coast Syrah, it should drink well for 30-40 years. (98+)" (08/2009)

1996 Lagrange, St-Julien
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1996 Lagrange, St-Julien (93ST, 91WS, 90RP). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Bright medium ruby. Highly complex aromas of blackberry, violet pastille, eucalyptus, leather and game. Wonderfully sweet but with terrific grip, even a touch of youthful austerity. Very classy, subtle wine with terrific inner-mouth energy. Builds very slowly on the back half, finishing with noble, fine-grained tannins and terrific grip. This makes the 1995 seem almost cooked by comparison. Still needs at least five or six years of cellaring. 'We always had unusual tastes in this wine, like eucalyptus and menthol, due to the cool September nights,' noted Ducasse. 93(+?) points." (09/2004)

1995 Flora Springs "Hillside Reserve" Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1995 Flora Springs "Hillside Reserve" Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon (92RP, 90WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Readers looking for blockbuster Cabernet Sauvignon offerings should check out the 1995 and 1996 Hillside Reserve Cabernets from Flora Springs. The winery tends to give this wine 12 months aging in old oak barrels. At the conclusion of that period, the wines are moved into 100% new oak for 10 months. At that point they are racked into tank and bottled unfiltered. This is not dissimilar to how Caymus handles its Special Selection Cabernet Sauvignon. Sadly, only about 800 cases of these exquisite Cabernets are produced. The 1995 Cabernet Sauvignon Hillside Reserve is a backward, tannic wine with an opaque purple color, and copious quantities of sweet black currant fruit, cedar, and spice. Muscular, rich, and full-bodied, with sweet tannin, this is a layered, concentrated, unevolved and youthful Cabernet Sauvignon that requires 4-5 years of cellaring

2003 Larkmead "LMV Salon" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2003 Larkmead "LMV Salon" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (96RP, 92ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2003 LMV Salon is a blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Cabernet Franc, 6% Malbec, 5% Petit Verdot and 4% Merlot. It takes its name from the iconic San Francisco socialite, Lillie Hitchcock Coit, who established a “salon” at Larkmead. This wine cuts an even broader, more expansive flavor profile across the palate, offering gorgeous notes of creme de cassis, background oak and licorice, and hints of lead pencil shavings and spring flowers. Strikingly complex, this stunning wine reveals a freshness and vivacity that go against the general reputation of this vintage. It is a crunchy, juicy effort with 14.7% alcohol, although the latter component is not the least bit noticeable. Slightly more evolved than the basic Cabernet Sauvignon, this beauty is accessible now, so there is no reason to delay your pleasure. It should be strutting its stuff for 15-20 years.

Wine Enthusiast: " ** Editors' Choice ** A wonderfully firm, concentrated wine that walks a fine, balanced line between richness and poised structure. It is classic in the best sense, showing all the shape of a fine Bordeaux, while adding the extra dimension of the freshest of black fruits, complexity from a few hints of wood, and a dark, brooding, long-lasting aftertaste." Builds on the palate. Reminds me of the 1996 Las Cases. May be better." (03/2005)

Dense, medium to full-bodied, with high levels of tannin in a big, full-bodied style (much in the spirit of such classic Bordeaux vintages as 1966, 1986, and 1996), this wine possesses superb purity and serious length, but should be purchased only by those with considerable patience and a good, cold cellar, since it will need plenty of time. Freshly cut flowers, mint, spices, licorice and graphite all burst from the glass as the 2010 shows off its personality. While some of Beaulieu's 2010s are ripe and flashy, the Georges de Latour is wonderfully fresh and alive in the glass, not to mention absolutely classic in feel. 2008 Abreu "Thorevilos" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this bottle of 2008 Abreu "Thorevilos" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (98RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "As outstanding as all the Abreu wines are, if I had to choose one that stands apart from the others it would be Thorevilos. The 2008 Thorevilos is the most complete and deeply satisfying of Abreu’s 2008s because the balance of fruit and structure is so impeccable. The 2008 literally explodes onto the palate with masses of dark fruit, tar, licorice and smoke. There is a fleshiness and depth of the fruit here that separates the Thorevilos from the other 2008s. Layers of fruit build towards the massive, masculine finish. In 2008 Thorevilos is 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Cabernet Franc and 15% Petit Verdot. Anticipated maturity: 2018-2038. (AG)" (12/2011)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2005 Chardonnay Kistler Vineyard Cuvee Cathleen is a selection of the finest lots from all the vineyards, but most of it comes from the Kistler Vineyard. Full-bodied, firm, and backward, it is behaving more like a red wine than a Chardonnay. It boasts fabulous concentration, superb ripeness, plenty of honeysuckle, orange rind, and tropical fruit characteristics, copious minerality, and enormous length as well as richness. This beauty is as good as any Chardonnay made in either the New or Old World. Kistler Vineyards, undeniably one of the world’s finest winemaking estates, is run with passionate dedication to detail and quality by Steve Kistler and Mark Bixler. This is open and accessible yet there is a balancing, and focusing, firmness on the finish that will allow this to improve for a few years but not the long haul." (07/2007)

1998 Pahlmeyer Napa Valley Merlot
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1998 Pahlmeyer Napa Valley Merlot (90RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1998 Merlot is light, but it is undoubtedly one of the finest Merlots produced in this irregular vintage. A blend of 95% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Franc (1,750 cases), Jayson Pahlmeyer and winemaker Erin Green decided to eliminate 38% of the wine. Full-bodied, thick, and juicy, with low acidity as well as melted chocolate, cherry, smoke, and toast aromas and flavors ... (RP)" (12/2000)

2000 Chateau de Pibarnon Bandol
Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2000 Chateau de Pibarnon Bandol. Chateau Pibarnon is home to the highest slopes in the Bandol, with some of the most unique soil: its Triassic limestone, a great asset in regulating the flow of water to the vineyard, is 150 years older than the soil in the rest of the appellation. The 2000 vintage was excellent, with a rainy winter and a dry summer. From the website: "Very youthful aromas of cassis, black raspberry, married with light spices, black peppercorns and tobacco, the mixture of which is refreshed by notes of mint. Fat mouth with lots of amplitude, refined and velvet tannins, long finish. Very well balanced."

1999 Bernard Burgaud Côte-Rôtie
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1999 Bernard Burgaud Côte-Rôtie (91RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1999 Cote Rotie will rival the finest Burgaud has produced. An opaque ruby/purple color is followed by a tight but blossoming bouquet of blackberries, hickory smoke, damp earth, underbrush, and licorice. The wine is full-bodied, chewy, thick, but civilized. This inky, powerful, full-throttle 1999 possesses plenty of tannin, and enough acidity to provide definition. However, patience will be required. Anticipated maturity: 2004-2016. (RP)" (04/2002)

1994 Château de Beaucastel Châteauneuf-du-Pape
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1994 Château de Beaucastel Châteauneuf-du-Pape (90RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The high percentage of Mourvedre (40% versus the normal 30%) has given it an earthy, leathery character with hints of mushrooms and tree bark. Although dense and chewy, it remains tannic and firm. It will keep for two decades, but it is not a hedonistic example and how much pleasure it will provide remains to be seen. " (01/2003)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1998 Chateauneuf du Pape Les Hautes Brusquieres Cuvee Speciale is pure kirsch liqueur, a riveting example of old-vine Chateauneuf du Pape, with loads of personality, its spectacular nose of kirsch and framboise followed by similar flavors in an opulent, pedal-to-the-metal style. Of the 1998 Domaine de Marcoux Châteauneuf-du-Pape,Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar writes: "Very good deep red. Jammy aromas of surmaturite: raspberry liqueur, cherry cough syrup, roasted game, roast coffee and mocha. Large-scaled and impressive on the attack, then rich, very concentrated and mouthfilling in the middle. Big, thick and layered; a bit unrefined next to the '99 normale, but at the same time more traditional and less exaggerated-more crunchy-than the extravagant '98 Vieilles Vignes. Big, spreading tannins coat the front teeth. (ST)" (01/2001)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1998 Château de Saint Cosme "Valbelle" Gigondas (94RP, 93WS, 92ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1998 Gigondas Cuvee Valbelle, which is made from 90% Grenache and 10% Syrah and aged in 20% new French oak, steps everything up a notch. Starting out reticent on the nose, with ripe blackberry fruit, ground pepper, dried flowers and beef blood-like subtleties, it knocks it out of the park on the palate and has full-bodied richness, beautiful density and a savory finish. Fully mature, yet still youthful and with plenty of life, drink it over the coming 4-5 years. (JD)" (08/2014)

Complicating notes of tar and chocolate. Finishes with dusty, broad tannins and great persistence. This can be enjoyed now with the right dishes but should age gracefully." (01/2003)

An outstanding effort, it boasts a dark ruby/purple color, and sweet cassis flavors nicely dosed with subtle oak. Licorice, truffle, mineral, and spice notions are also apparent in this impressively endowed wine's full-bodied flavors. It possesses moderate but sweet tannin. This stunner is elegant beyond words, powerful, crystalline, and has a mind-boggling finish. Its light to medium-bodied, satin-textured personality is boldly flavored yet airy. There is more tannin, but it is not intrusive. Of the 1986 Kenwood "Jack London" Sonoma Valley Cabernet Sauvignon,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "This wine from Kenwood is a monster Cabernet Sauvignon, exhibiting youthful colors, and huge quantities of fruit, extract, glycerin, and tannin...Although it possesses a youthful black/ruby/purple color, full body, and gobs of sweet, smoky, herb and licorice-tinged, blackcurrant fruit, its finish is ferociously tannic.
