2012 La Monacesca Verdicchio di Matelica (1.5L)

93 points James Suckling: "Beautiful aromas of peaches and apples that follow through to a full body with layers of dried pineapple and peaches. A velvety texture from the phenolics in this. Long and flavorful. Layered, rich white that shows wonderful fruit." (12/2014) K&L Notes: Truly one of Italy's best white wines, Verdicchio is one of Italy's great white grapes and in this isolated Apennine Valley at 1200 feet magic happens. Not harvested until the first week of October this wine achieves complete physiological ripeness, that allows the flavors to deepen, allows the wine to show this uniqu... Read More »

Amazing balance and depth to this red. It's so beautiful to taste now but it will be much better in five to ten years. A triumph." 98 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2010 Brunello di Montalcino will blow you away. This is a delightful expression that boasts its extreme quality from the minute the wine is poured from the bottle. As you should expect, it just gets better and better with each additional minute in the glass. It opens to a vibrant dark ruby color and blackish-garnet hues. The bouquet is ever changing and shows a long succession of aromatic characteristics that rage from dark fruit, plum, spice, leather, licorice, red rose, balsam and grilled herb. It's textbook Brunello from a great vintage and this s ...Read More »

2010 Talenti Brunello di Montalcino (1.5L)

An almost iodine undertone. Better in 2016." (1/2015)95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Talenti's 2010 Brunello di Montalcino sees fruit sourced from the Sant'Angelo in Colle subzone of the appellation. This is a very satisfactory expression with pretty mineral tones of ash and crushed stone that form sharp contours against ripe fruit, prune and blackberry. The wine is linear and extremely well defined. The high quality of fruit ...Read More »

2010 La Fornacina Brunello di Montalcino 1.5L (Pre-Arrival)

Full body, super integrated and chewy tannins, and a long, flavorful finish. Impressive. Best ever from here. Better after 2018." (1/2015)93 points Antonio Galloni: "The 2010 Brunello di Montalcino is striking. 2004 Rocche Dei Manzoni Barolo "Big'd Big" (1.5L)

94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The estate's 2004 Barolo Big 'd Big is an expansive wine loaded with primary fruit. Although it doesn't show the complexity of the Santo Stefano it does offer tons of fruit in a big, powerful style. Here too the oak is very well integrated. The wine shows remarkable balance and poise with awesome textural richness and power. Notes of smoke, tobacco, earthiness and licorice emerge with air, but this remains a distinctly fruit-driven style of Barolo typical of the Mosconi vineyard. (AG)" (10/2008)92 points Wine Spectator: "Very floral, with hints of strawberry. Delicate and aromatic ...Read More »

This is dense, tight, powerful, compressed and incredibly structured. Needs four to five years of bottle age to come out of its dormancy." (12/2014)91 points Antonio Galloni: "Castiglion del Bosco 2010 Brunello di Montalcino is expressive and beautifully layered in the glass. Layers of gorgeous fruit. Drink or hold." (1/2015)93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Altesino's 2010 Brunello di Montalcino stands proud among its peers. No other wine I tasted among the new releases in Montalcino achieves this unique level of aromatic finesse and distinction. A wine that shows such layered, in-depth character. Tight and exciting. Give it three to four years more before drinking." (12/2014)95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The special vineyard selection 2010 Brunello di Montalcino Poggio Alle Mura opens to brooding dark concentration and an impressive sense of depth. 2012 Cantina Terlan "Gries" Lagrein 1.5L

This comes from a small suburb of Bolzano called Gries, where the alluvial soils are perfectly suited to Lagrein--a native grape that has been grown in the region since at least 1379. The fruit is manually harvested, slowly fermented in stainless and finished in mostly large wooden barrels (70%) and barriques (one-third new). Always a favorite, this cool climate red is ink-dark and packed with lifted dark berry fruit, fine tannins and exotic spice. It's particularly delicious with game, offal and aged cheeses.

2010 Fuligni Brunello di Montalcino 1.5L (Pre-Arrival)

Savory, succulent and salty. Hints of chocolate and salted nuts. So juicy and gorgeous. A fabulous red. Drink now but also hold for years ahead." (1/2015)94 points Antonio Galloni: "The 2010 Brunello di Montalcino is all about balance. 2004 Ciacci Piccolomini d'Aragona "Vigna di Pianrosso" Brunello di Montalcino (1.5l)

94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The estate’s 2004 Brunello di Montalcino Pianrosso possesses striking depth as endless layers of sweet, perfumed fruit emerge with tons of grace. This, too, is an intense, full-bodied wine. The balance here is utterly exceptional, and the wine’s sheer plumpness makes for a highly rewarding glass of Brunello. Succulent dark cherries, spices, underbrush, minerals and new leather come to life as the wine sits in the glass, yet this remains a backward, structured Brunello in need of serious bottle age. (1/2015)92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Castello Banfi's 2010 Brunello di Montalcino is one of the ripest wines I have tasted from this vintage. This full-bodied, superbly concentrated, layered, multidimensional Brunello is the kind of wine one expects from such a renowned region, but so rarely receives. 1985 Antinori Secentenario (1.5L)

Sweet start but still lots of acidity and melded tannins. Long, elegant. Light bodied. Great food wine." (3/2005) K&L Notes: This is an INCREDIBLY rare bottling--created at Antinori to commemorate its 600th anniversary in winemaking. 2010 Le Ragnaie "Fornace" Brunello di Montalcino 1.5L (Pre-Arrival)

96 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2010 Brunello di Montalcino Fornace is a beautiful expression with an impressive level of confidence and individuality. The wine's color is a bit darker compared to its peers and its concentration is similarly thicker. But that extra padding does not take away from the inner elegance and finesse displayed here. Aromas embrace red rose petal, licorice, grilled herb and forest floor. The oak rendering is evident but not obvious: Dark smoke, crushed granite and ash give the wine a savory side. In 1997 the grapes were very small because the intense heat of the year dehydrated the fruit. Dark red berries, pomegranate, spices, smoke, licorice, anise and rose petals burst from the glass with notable energy, power and grace. Even with all of its intensity, the 1997 is beautifully balanced from start to finish. This racy, full-bodied Flaccianello can be enjoyed today or cellared for up to a decade." It will age for decades, but it is so in harmony and beautiful now. Gorgeous." (5/2011)95 points Wine Spectator: "Scented with black cherry and plum, this international-style red shows plenty of smoky, toasty oak on the palate. It's rich, with sweet fruit, ample power and complexity, but will take some time to integrate the tannins.
