Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2010 Gaja Barbaresco (OWC - 95WE, 94RP, 93AG, 93JS, 92ST, 92WS) in original wood. Wine Enthusiast: "**Cellar Selection** Gaja’s classic Barbaresco is gorgeous in 2010, showing an intense perfume of violet, earth and ripe red fruits punctuated by balsamic notes. The palate delivers rich wild cherry notes layered with mint, cinnamon and eucalyptus. This is structured and elegant and will develop more complexity over time. Drink this after 2018." (09/2013)

2007 Domenico Clerico "Ciabot Mentin" Barolo
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2007 Domenico Clerico "Ciabot Mentin" Barolo (98RP, 95JS, 95ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2007 Barolo Ciabot Mentin is one of the greatest wines I have ever tasted at this address. Deep, sensual layers of fruit flow from the glass as this full-throttle, intense Barolo reveals its profound, breathtaking personality. The 2007 shows tons of Ginestra nuance, but with extra dimensions to the fruit that literally covers every nook and cranny of the palate. Tasting this next to the 2006 is quite a comparison, as both wines are fabulous. Readers who can should be sure to own bottles of both. A side-by-side comparison is sure to be fascinating as the wines develop over the coming years. Astute readers will note the slight name change here, which is the result of new regulations that require the use of the historic vineyard name, in this case Ginestra, or a proprietary name. Call me nostalgic, but it is sad to see one of the iconic labels in Barolo disappea

The nose shows ripe plum, as well as green coffee bean character. Full-bodied, with very soft and round tannins and ripe fruit. Turns to coffee, sweet tobacco and berries on the finish. Give it another couple years to mellow. 1998 Piedmont blind retrospective. (Web-2008)"

1997 Vietti Barolo Riserva "Villero"
Bid on this bottle of 1997 Vietti Barolo Riserva "Villero" (95RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1997 Barolo Riserva Villero is at the early part of its drinking window. It shows drop-dead gorgeous intensity and marvelous inner perfume, all supported by plenty of tannic heft. This is pure Villero and pure 1997, both at their very best. The fruit builds with considerable momentum to the glorious finish. The 1997 is another wine in which only one of the two Villero parcels was vinified. Anticipated maturity: 2011-2021." (09/2011)

2000 Domenico Clerico "Pajana" Barolo
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2000 Domenico Clerico "Pajana" Barolo (93WS, 89ST). 93 points The Wine Spectator: "Loads of new wood showing on the nose right now, but there is beautiful ripe fruit underneath. Full-bodied, with chewy tannins and a long finish. Slightly too much wood right now, but should come around nicely." (06/2004) 89 points Stephen Tanzer: "Deep red. Nutty oak and marzipan on the nose. Lush, sweet and forward, in the style of the vintage. Shows distinct signs of surmaturite, with rather low acidity. Notes of tobacco, chocolate and underbrush. Finishes with substantial but slightly drying tannins." (Nov/Dec 2002)

2006 Vietti "Lazzarito" Barolo
Bid on this bottle of 2006 Vietti "Lazzarito" Barolo (97RP, 93ST, 93WS, 91JS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2006 Barolo Lazzarito has begun to show the pedigree of this great Serralunga site now that Vietti has backed off the French oak, and the 2006 is nothing short of superb. A melange of dark, mineral-infused fruit flows from the glass as the large-scaled Lazzarito gradually shows off its class. Licorice, tar, smoke and earthiness add layers of complexity and nuance. The Lazzarito is still the Barolo that spends the longest number of months in French oak following the malolactic fermentation, but that period is down to several months from a full year the wine spent in small barrels up until 2001 or so. One day the Lazzarito may challenge the Rocche as Vietti’s signature Barolo, and that day may be closer than most people realize. This huge, imposing Barolo will require patience, but it is nothing short of superb. (AG)" (02/2010)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1996 Ceretto "Bricco Rocche" Barolo ((92-96RP), 95WS, 93ST, 93W&S). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This wine exhibits a saturated ruby color with purple nuances. Additionally, it is rich, with lots of extract, tannin, and body. Ceretto's opaque ruby/purple-colored 1996 Barolo Bricco Rocche is sensational stuff. It combines explosive levels of fruit, glycerin, and extract with an uncanny sense of elegance and finesse. There are copious quantities of black cherry fruit, intermixed with raspberries, cedar, spicy oak, licorice, and tar. (RP)" (08/1999)

Bright aromas of raspberry, redcurrant, fresh flowers, tar and underbrush, all perked up by mint. Sweet, lush and silky, with nicely judged extraction. Very suave Barolo, finishing with big tooth- and palate-coating tannins. Showing well today." (11/2004)

2004 Aldo Conterno "Romirasco" Barolo
Bid on this bottle of 2004 Aldo Conterno "Romirasco" Barolo (95RP, 94ST, 94WE, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "There is no need to taste the 2004 Barolo Romirasco, the nose alone is enough to understand that this is magnificent wine. Aromas of tar, roses, menthol, scorched earth and smoke lead to a core of dark red fruit than unfolds onto the palate with uncommon grace and elegance. As it sits in the glass the wine gradually puts on weight, filling out its considerably structured frame with notable class. The last Romirasco was made in 1993. This bottling has typically only been made in vintages where quality is not sufficient for the family to make their top of the line Riserva Granbussia, as was the case in 2004....Anticipated maturity: 2009-2024.
