2011 Saxum "Bone Rock—James Berry Vineyard" Paso Robles Syrah
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2011 Saxum "Bone Rock—James Berry Vineyard" Paso Robles Syrah (98RP, 97AG, 95ST, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Decidedly cool climate in character, the 2011 James Berry Vineyard Bone Rock comes from steep, terraced plots of old head trained Syrah vines that, in 2011, wasn’t harvested until November. Co-fermented with a splash of Roussanne and Mourvedre, it’s a spectacular effort that makes the most of the cool, long growing season. It’s also the most long term prospect in the lineup. Offering up a tight, Cornas-like bouquet of black and blue fruits, white pepper, spring flowers and salty minerality, it is full-bodied, beautifully concentrated and seamless on the palate, with ultra-fine tannin and building richness that only starts to develop with a healthy decant. It’s a gorgeous wine, yet needs to be forgotten for at least 4-5 years. It should drink nicely through 2031. (JD)" (08/2014)

2013 Aubert "Eastside Vineyard" Russian River Valley Chardonnay
Bid on this bottle of 2013 Aubert "Eastside Vineyard" Russian River Valley Chardonnay ((98-100RP), 95AG). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2013 Chardonnay East Side (1,000 cases produced) comes from a vineyard owned by Ulises Valdez and planted with the Montrachet clone. It is the rockiest site in the Aubert portfolio. Amazingly, it sees 100% new oak, but you would never know that from smelling or tasting the wine. Copious aromas of wet rocks, almond paste, honeysuckle, pineapple and white peach are followed by a full-bodied, stunningly rich yet crisp, vibrant, zesty Chardonnay that should drink well for a minimum of 10 years. Of the 2012 Occidental (Kistler) "Occidental Station--SWK Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "As good as the Cuvée Catherine is, there is another Occidental Pinot that is also profound. The 2012 Pinot Noir SWK Vineyard also comes from his 65 acres planted in Occidental. This is a 1,000-case cuvée from a site that sits above the Bodega Headlands Vineyard. With a dark ruby color like its siblings, it is made from 100% Calera and sees only about 30% new French oak. 2001 Joseph Phelps "Backus" Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2001 Joseph Phelps "Backus" Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon (97RP, 97WE, 93CG). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "From a steep eastern hillside vineyard in Oakville, the excruciatingly youthful, intense 2001 Cabernet Sauvignon Backus Vineyard possesses an opaque purple color (that resembles a barrel sample rather than a 10-year old wine) as well as an extraordinary perfume of raspberry jam, creme de cassis, acacia flowers and crushed rocks. Full-bodied with magnificent concentration, purity and texture, this modern day legend should still be drinking beautifully in 2035. " (06/2011)

Bid on this 3-half-bottle lot of 2007 Beringer "Private Reserve" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (375ml) (97RP, 93ST, 92CG, 91W&S, 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2007 Private Reserve is composed of 34% Bancroft Ranch, 33% Steinhauer Ranch, 8% Chabot Vineyard, 8% Lampyridae, and the remainder from St. Helena Home Vineyard, Marston Ranch and Rancho del Oso fruit. A mild spring and summer with only a handful of heat spikes was followed by beautiful weather in September and October. One of the finest Private Reserves made over the last two decades, this phenomenal wine is obviously still an infant in terms of development, but it exhibits a dense purple color as well as an extraordinary nose of blackberries, white chocolate, licorice, tobacco leaf, smoky barbecue, charcoal and a burning ember-like note reminiscent of a Graves from Bordeaux. Of the 2005 Sine Qua Non "Mr. K Straw Man" Marsanne Vin de Paille (375ml),Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "Even more remarkable is the 2005 Mr. K. Marsanne Vin de Paille The Straw Man. One-hundred percent Marsanne from the Beckmen Vineyard, with remarkably low alcohol (7.5%), a whopping 392 grams of residual sugar per liter, and exceptional acidity (6.4 grams of acid per liter), this is one of the most singular sweet wines I have ever tasted. It rivals the great 2000 Suey that was made from Roussanne and ended up with 241 grams of residual sugar. Here it is the wine's sense of energy that stands out most. Vivid, nuanced and structured, the 1999 is a wine to cellar for another 5-10 years at a minimum to allow the flavors to flesh out. 2004 Larkmead "Solari Reserve" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2004 Larkmead "Solari Reserve" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (99RP, 94WS, 92ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Another titan of Napa Valley is Larkmead’s 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon Solari Reserve. Composed of 90% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Petit Verdot, it is a sumptuous, virtually perfect expression of wine with an inky/purple color, beautiful floral aromas intermixed with sweet, pure black currants and hints of licorice as well as subtle oak. The extraordinary ripeness of the tannins, the flawless integration of acidity, tannin, wood and alcohol, the remarkable finish, and the full-bodied texture make for a tour de force in winemaking. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2006 Roberta’s Reserve State Lane Vineyard is potentially the finest Merlot being made in California, although it has several noteworthy competitors, particularly Pahlmeyer. The Roberta’s Reserve exhibits classic Merlot notes of chocolate fudge and mocha intertwined with black currants, sweet black cherries, and hints of smoke and forest floor. The wood component plays a minor role in this complex, medium to full-bodied, pure, intriguing Pinot. It is a singular, perfumed example with loads of texture and flavor ... Bid on this magnum of 2012 Schrader "Colesworthy - Beckstoffer Las Piedras Vineyard" Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L) (95RP, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A selection of the best barrels of this wine, representing only 110 cases or basically 41/2 barrels, is the 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Las Piedras Vineyard Colesworthy. This is largely Clone 337, aged 20 months in 100% new Darnajou. This is deep, rich, full, backward and not quite as easy to access as its sibling, although at some point the Schraders and Thomas Brown thought these were the best barrels from Las Piedras. It seems to share much of its siblings opaque purple color, lots of coffee, blackberry and cassis fruit, charcoal and graphite, but seems to also require more bottle age to round into shape. Rita Hills Grenache,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: " The current release of the estate vineyard (a.k.a. the extended barrel-aged cuvee), the 2010 Grenache Stockholm Syndrome is an incredible effort that I couldn’t find a fault with. A blend of 75% Grenache, 22% Syrah, 2% Roussanne and 1% Viognier, all from the Eleven Confession Vineyard, it spent just under 30 months in 22% new and 78% used French oak prior to bottling. Bid on this 8-bottle lot of 2003 Arietta "H Block Hudson" Napa Valley Red Blend (93RP, 92ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The deep ruby/purple-hued 2003 Proprietary Red H Block Hudson Vineyard (a 500-case blend of 60% Cabernet Franc and 40% Merlot) exhibits a dense ruby/purple color as well as aromas of sassafras, underbrush, menthol, cassis, crushed rocks, and graphite. Although more closed than it was last year out of barrel, it reveals a beautiful texture, an explosively rich style, and a long, pure finish. I would not be surprised to see this wine merit a score in the mid-nineties once it sheds some of its tannin. Anticipated maturity: 2008-2020+. This partnership between winemaker John Kongsgaard and auctioneer Fritz Hatton has produced distinctive, singular wines, with the H Block a California version of Bordeaux’s famed Cheval Blanc, and the Variation One a “who knows what the heck” blend of Merlot and Syrah. Although I have never been able to award it a perfect score, it is as close to perfect as one will find. A terrific success in a vintage that rarely produced Pinot Noir of this quality except at selected micro-climates on the Sonoma coast. Bid on this 2-magnum lot of 2010 Dominus Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (1.5L) (100RP, 99JS, 97AG, 94ST, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Composed of 95% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Petit Verdot, the stunning, full-bodied 2010 Dominus boasts an exceptional perfume of hoisin sauce, licorice, underbrush, forest floor, plums, black currants and jammy cherries intertwined with hints of cedar, baking spices and oak. Full-bodied and voluptuously textured, the 2010 is on a slightly faster evolutionary track than the 2009 (somewhat of an anomaly for these two vintages). This exquisite as well as prodigious 2010 can be drunk young, but it should age effortlessly for 20-25 years. Bravo! " (10/2013)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A new wine for 2012, the 2012 Syrah Sur Echalas Vineyard (same vineyard as the Grenache, and located just beside the Cayuse estate and the Armada Vineyard) is a stunning example of the quality coming from these rocky soils around Milton Freewater. Offering incredible notes of pepper, bacon fat, steak tartare, olive paste and deep, savory dark fruit, this full-bodied barrel sample has fabulous concentration, beautiful purity and a blockbuster finish. It too will have an easy 15 years or more of ultimate longevity. (JD)" (06/2014)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "From Aubert’s oldest vines, the 2013 Chardonnay Ritchie (1,000 cases produced) is made from the 40-year-old Chardonnay clone called Old Wente. Candied citrus, wet rocks, Granny Smith apples, white peach and honeysuckle notes are found in this full-bodied, prodigious Chardonnay with crisp acidity buttressing the viscous, full-throttle style. All of these 2013s have at least a decade of aging potential. (RP)" (12/2014)

Of the 2011 Rhys "Home Vineyard" San Mateo County Pinot Noir,Antonio Galloni writes: "The 2011 Pinot Noir Home Vineyard bursts from glass with racy red berries, flowers, smoke, licorice, incense and orange peel. Exotic, beguiling and beautifully layered, the 2011 boasts stunning depth, yet weightless elegance and tons of pure personality. The racy, explosive finish is a marvel to behold. An utterly dazzling Pinot, the 2011 should drink well for years. It is one of the few California Pinots I would bet on to age gracefully for more than a decade. This dazzling Pinot Noir has pedigree and structure to burn. In a word: superb! Home was the first parc

2006 Quilceda Creek Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2006 Quilceda Creek Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (98WE, 96RP, 95ST, 94WS). Wine Enthusiast: "The 2006 flagship Cabernet from Quilceda Creek is a massive wine that has just begun to emerge from its slumber. When first released the wine seemed to have entered a dumb phase, but six months later it responds to decanting and shows its muscle. Fruit flavors of black, brandied cherries, cassis and bourbon-soaked plums are wrapped in generous, layered oak. The wine is dusty, smoky, laced with streaks of licorice and brightened with sharp acids. It continues to expand further in the glass, adding flesh and spice to its frame, with a cedar/cigar box finish." (03/2010)

2011 Saxum "James Berry Vineyard" Paso Robles Rhône Blend
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2011 Saxum "James Berry Vineyard" Paso Robles Rhône Blend (96AG, 96RP, 94ST, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Reminding me of a top 2010 Chateauneuf du Pape (the 2010 Raymond Usseglio Cuvee Imperiale to be exact), the 2011 James Berry Vineyard is a blend of 69% Grenache, 13% Mourvedre, 13% Syrah, 2% Counoise, and a splash of Roussanne, that was aged in a combination of concrete (Grenache) and larger oak puncheons. A fresh, detailed and more elegant example of the cuvee, it offers gorgeous notes of ripe berry fruit, loads of exotic spice, violets, pepper and lavender to go with a full-bodied, beautifully pure and layered profile on the palate. It’s no blockbuster, but has loads of energy and tension, as well as class and refinement. Give it 2-3 years in the cellar and enjoy it over the following decade or longer. (JD)" (08/2014)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2005 Erna Schein "Behrens Famiily Reserve" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend ((92-94RP), 92ST, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2005 Behrens Family Reserve is a 400-case blend of 31% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Cabernet Franc, 23% Merlot, and the rest Petit Verdot. A saturated ruby/purple color and blackberry as well as charcoal notes emerge from this full-bodied 2005. Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2006 Alban "Seymour's Vineyard" Edna Valley Syrah (98RP, 96ST, 96WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The succession of prodigious Syrahs continues with the 2006 Syrah Seymour’s Vineyard (named after John Alban’s father). An infant in terms of development, it exhibits a smoky meatiness along with a forest floor character as well as its siblings’ colossal level of concentration, enormous, multilayered texture, and skyscraper-like mouthfeel. Remarkably, there is no sense of heaviness. Another tour de force in Central Coast Syrah, it should drink well for 30-40 years. (98+)" (08/2009)

2003 Larkmead "LMV Salon" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2003 Larkmead "LMV Salon" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (96RP, 92ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2003 LMV Salon is a blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Cabernet Franc, 6% Malbec, 5% Petit Verdot and 4% Merlot. It takes its name from the iconic San Francisco socialite, Lillie Hitchcock Coit, who established a “salon” at Larkmead. This wine cuts an even broader, more expansive flavor profile across the palate, offering gorgeous notes of creme de cassis, background oak and licorice, and hints of lead pencil shavings and spring flowers. Strikingly complex, this stunning wine reveals a freshness and vivacity that go against the general reputation of this vintage. It is a crunchy, juicy effort with 14.7% alcohol, although the latter component is not the least bit noticeable. Slightly more evolved than the basic Cabernet Sauvignon, this beauty is accessible now, so there is no reason to delay your pleasure. It should be strutting its stuff for 15-20 years.

1995 Flora Springs "Hillside Reserve" Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1995 Flora Springs "Hillside Reserve" Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon (92RP, 90WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Readers looking for blockbuster Cabernet Sauvignon offerings should check out the 1995 and 1996 Hillside Reserve Cabernets from Flora Springs. The winery tends to give this wine 12 months aging in old oak barrels. At the conclusion of that period, the wines are moved into 100% new oak for 10 months. At that point they are racked into tank and bottled unfiltered. This is not dissimilar to how Caymus handles its Special Selection Cabernet Sauvignon. Sadly, only about 800 cases of these exquisite Cabernets are produced. The 1995 Cabernet Sauvignon Hillside Reserve is a backward, tannic wine with an opaque purple color, and copious quantities of sweet black currant fruit, cedar, and spice. Muscular, rich, and full-bodied, with sweet tannin, this is a layered, concentrated, unevolved and youthful Cabernet Sauvignon that requires 4-5 years of cellaring

2008 Abreu "Thorevilos" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this bottle of 2008 Abreu "Thorevilos" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (98RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "As outstanding as all the Abreu wines are, if I had to choose one that stands apart from the others it would be Thorevilos. The 2008 Thorevilos is the most complete and deeply satisfying of Abreu’s 2008s because the balance of fruit and structure is so impeccable. The 2008 literally explodes onto the palate with masses of dark fruit, tar, licorice and smoke. There is a fleshiness and depth of the fruit here that separates the Thorevilos from the other 2008s. Layers of fruit build towards the massive, masculine finish. In 2008 Thorevilos is 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Cabernet Franc and 15% Petit Verdot. Anticipated maturity: 2018-2038. (AG)" (12/2011)

2005 Kistler "Cuvée Cathleen" Sonoma Valley Chardonnay
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2005 Kistler "Cuvée Cathleen" Sonoma Valley Chardonnay ((96-100RP), 95ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2005 Chardonnay Kistler Vineyard Cuvee Cathleen is a selection of the finest lots from all the vineyards, but most of it comes from the Kistler Vineyard. Full-bodied, firm, and backward, it is behaving more like a red wine than a Chardonnay. It boasts fabulous concentration, superb ripeness, plenty of honeysuckle, orange rind, and tropical fruit characteristics, copious minerality, and enormous length as well as richness. This beauty is as good as any Chardonnay made in either the New or Old World. Kistler Vineyards, undeniably one of the world’s finest winemaking estates, is run with passionate dedication to detail and quality by Steve Kistler and Mark Bixler. It is wines like these that keep an old critic like me inspired and energized. (RP)" (12/2006)

Bid on this bottle of 2010 Beaulieu Vineyard "Georges de Latour" Private Reserve Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (94AG, 93RP, 93WS). Antonio Galloni: "The 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Georges de Latour Private Reserve is a drop-dead gorgeous beauty. Freshly cut flowers, mint, spices, licorice and graphite all burst from the glass as the 2010 shows off its personality. While some of Beaulieu's 2010s are ripe and flashy, the Georges de Latour is wonderfully fresh and alive in the glass, not to mention absolutely classic in feel. Graphite, violets and pencil shavings linger on the close. The 2010 has captured every bit of the potential I sensed last year." (11/2013)

It possesses terrific acidity, a striking terroir-based minerality, and beautiful delineation as well as purity. This is a large-scaled yet remarkably fresh wine with the balance and grace of a world-class ballerina. Enjoy it over the next decade. (RP)" (12/2007)

There is more tannin, but it is not intrusive.
