1986 Joseph Drouhin Beaune Rouge 1er Cru "Clos des Mouches"
Bid on this bottle of 1986 Joseph Drouhin Beaune Rouge 1er Cru "Clos des Mouches". Allen Meadows - Burghound: "The nose is extremely exotic with obvious botrytis notes as well as mango and pineapple that seems perfectly in keeping with the notably rich, full and almost viscous texture of the mouth coating flavors. There is good complexity here though I find the finish to lack vibrancy as there is barely enough acidity to avoid heaviness. For my taste, I would strongly suggest consuming this over the next year or two as it will inevitably start to decline." (10/2006)

1998 Pahlmeyer Napa Valley Merlot
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1998 Pahlmeyer Napa Valley Merlot (90RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1998 Merlot is light, but it is undoubtedly one of the finest Merlots produced in this irregular vintage. A blend of 95% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Franc (1,750 cases), Jayson Pahlmeyer and winemaker Erin Green decided to eliminate 38% of the wine. Full-bodied, thick, and juicy, with low acidity as well as melted chocolate, cherry, smoke, and toast aromas and flavors ... (RP)" (12/2000)

An outstanding effort, it boasts a dark ruby/purple color, and sweet cassis flavors nicely dosed with subtle oak. Licorice, truffle, mineral, and spice notions are also apparent in this impressively endowed wine's full-bodied flavors. It possesses moderate but sweet tannin. There is more tannin, but it is not intrusive. Fleshy, with fine purity, medium to full body, and a sweet mid-palate and finish, this wine should be cellared for 3-4 years, and consumed over the following 15-20 years. (RP)" (12/1998)

Of the 1986 Kenwood "Jack London" Sonoma Valley Cabernet Sauvignon,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "This wine from Kenwood is a monster Cabernet Sauvignon, exhibiting youthful colors, and huge quantities of fruit, extract, glycerin, and tannin...Although it possesses a youthful black/ruby/purple color, full body, and gobs of sweet, smoky, herb and licorice-tinged, blackcurrant fruit, its finish is ferociously tannic. A stunningly opulent wine with a dense purple color, the 2005 possesses a beautiful perfume of spring flowers, blueberries, blackberries, creosote, and graphite, full body, silky but noticeable tannins, a layered mouthfeel, and a stunning, 45+-second finish. 2007 Foxen "Toasted Rope" Santa Ynez Valley Syrah
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2007 Foxen "Toasted Rope" Santa Ynez Valley Syrah (94RP, 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2007 Syrah Toasted Rope is a Marcel Guigal-like blend of 86% Syrah and 14% Viognier. (Guigal’s famous single-vineyard La Mouline Cote Rotie is a blend of 89% Syrah and 11% Viognier, give or take a few percentage points one way or the other depending on the vintage.) Dedicated to Andrew Murray, as the source of the Syrah and Viognier was planted by him in the early 1990s, the wine has a dark ruby/purple color and an exotic nose of lychee, apricot, and spring flowers, with the Syrah component offering up black cherry, blackberry, and spice. Almost off-the-charts complexity in the perfume is followed by a silky-textured, voluptuously built wine with loads of fruit, velvety tannins, and undeniable appeal. The Viognier clearly adds an element of complexity and suppleness that makes the wine individualistic." (08/2010)

A blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Merlot, the 2000 is an elegant, nicely textured, smoky, sweet wine offering scents of caramels intermixed with black currants, cherries, cedar, and licorice. 2007 Seavey Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 2007 Seavey Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (96RP, 94ST, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon (90.5% Cabernet Sauvignon and 9.5% Petit Verdot) is one of the more remarkable bargains for world-class Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley. Like most vintages of Seavey (the 1990 and 1991 are still very young wines), it will require patience. Dense purple opaque to the rim, it reveals a stunning nose of burning embers, soy, blackberries, coffee, and cassis along with a hint of scorched earth. It is a true blockbuster, concentrated, massive Cabernet that should be forgotten for 5-10 years, and drunk over the following four decades. Seavey’s 2007s could be compared to some of the Mayacamas Cabernet Sauvignons from the late 1960s and early 1970s. 96+ points. (RP)" (12/2009)

2006 Vietti "Lazzarito" Barolo
Bid on this bottle of 2006 Vietti "Lazzarito" Barolo (97RP, 93ST, 93WS, 91JS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2006 Barolo Lazzarito has begun to show the pedigree of this great Serralunga site now that Vietti has backed off the French oak, and the 2006 is nothing short of superb. A melange of dark, mineral-infused fruit flows from the glass as the large-scaled Lazzarito gradually shows off its class. Licorice, tar, smoke and earthiness add layers of complexity and nuance. The Lazzarito is still the Barolo that spends the longest number of months in French oak following the malolactic fermentation, but that period is down to several months from a full year the wine spent in small barrels up until 2001 or so. One day the Lazzarito may challenge the Rocche as Vietti’s signature Barolo, and that day may be closer than most people realize. This huge, imposing Barolo will require patience, but it is nothing short of superb. (AG)" (02/2010)

2008 Antica Terra "Botanica" Willamette Valley Pinot Noir
Bid on this bottle of 2008 Antica Terra "Botanica" Willamette Valley Pinot Noir (93ST, 91RP). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Vivid red. Expansive, room-filling bouquet displays red and dark berry preserves, incense and Asian spices, with an intense floral quality and notes of cola and vanilla. Silky in texture and deep in sweet red fruit character, with gentle tannins adding structure but playing second fiddle to the fruit. The spice and floral notes repeat on the juicy finish, which is broad, smooth and impressively persistent. Delicious now but has the depth to repay at least another five years of cellaring. This wine got about two-thirds new oak while the Willamette Valley bottling got about one-third. Both were fermented with about 10% whole clusters." (07/2010)

2005 Brane-Cantenac, Margaux
Bid on this bottle of 2005 Brane-Cantenac, Margaux (94RP, 94WE, 92WS, 91ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This is the finest Brane-Cantenac I have tasted in over thirty years. Unusually perfumed and already approachable (atypical for most 2005 Medocs), it reveals a deep plum/purple color as well as a stunningly flamboyant bouquet of smoked herbs, licorice, camphor, black cherries, currants, and notions of plums and blackberries. Elegant with silky tannin and medium body, it is clearly a classic statement on the Margaux appellation. While not a powerhouse, it is beautifully concentrated, stunningly balanced, and surprisingly forward. It could be drunk now after several hours of decanting, but it should age easily for 20+ years." Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Another resounding success for the vintage, the opaque purple-colored 2008 Clinet (14.4% alcohol) is composed of 85% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon. Yields of 38 hectoliters per hectare, while higher than in 2010, were still modest. Another powerful, big, large-scaled effort, the 2008 exhibits an inky/purple color as well as sweet creme de cassis, blackberry, plum, Asian spice, licorice and incense notes. Composed of 73% Cabernet Sauvignon and 27% Merlot that came in at 13.09% alcohol, it is a surprisingly intense effort displaying a marvelous texture, plenty of black currant, licorice, unsmoked cigar tobacco and earthy characteristics, a full-bodied mouthfeel and stunning purity as well as density. 2007 Cayuse "Armada Vineyard" Walla Walla Valley Syrah
Bid on this bottle of 2007 Cayuse "Armada Vineyard" Walla Walla Valley Syrah (98RP, 97WE, 94ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2007 Syrah Armada Vineyard (100%) was aged in Rostaing puncheons, one of them new, for 30 months. Aromatically, it is the most brooding and Cote-Rotie-like of these Syrahs with notes of smoke, meat, game, garrigue, lavender, and blueberry. The most tightly wound of the Syrahs, it is the one that will most profit from several years of cellaring. It should offer prime drinking from 2014 to 2027. (JM)" (08/2010)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2003 Schrader "Vieux-Os Ira Carter Vineyard" Old Vine Napa Valley Zinfandel . Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Ruby-red. High-toned nose showed some distinctly green notes initially, then delivered enticing black raspberry and graphite. Very sweet, creamy and large-scaled zinfandel, with strong, high-toned berry flavors boasting impressive density and power. The huge tannins come late. Finishes quite dry, with a bit of heat showing. Bid on this bottle of 2008 Figeac, St-Emilion (93WE, 92W&S, 91ST). Wine Enthusiast: "**Cellar Selection** In this smoky, black currant- and damson-flavored wine, the tannins have a firm, chewy structure, derived from the Cabernet Sauvignon in the blend. With the final lip-smacking acidity, this should age impressively." (04/2011)

Bid on this bottle of 2002 Vincent Girardin Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru ((93-94RP), 94WS, 92BH, 92ST). Wine Spectator: "Intense and minerally, rich but not fat, and racy, evoking lemon, apple and stone notes accented by spicy oak. Still very tightly wound and balanced, this will need time to unwind, or decant if you must drink it now. Best from 2006 through 2015." (07/2004)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Brooding, smoky, cassis-like scents along with earth and spice are found in the 2003 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve. Rich, but not over-done, with good glycerin and volume on the palate, sweet tannin, nice acidity and glycerin, as well as a multilayered texture and a long finish. (RP)" (12/2006)

He has now made his mark on the property, combining elegance and power. The style of the property seems to hone in on structure and tannins, but the fruit, dense and black, is also there." 1996 Grand-Puy-Lacoste, Pauillac
Bid on this bottle of 1996 Grand-Puy-Lacoste, Pauillac (93RP, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This is unquestionably a profound Grand-Puy-Lacoste, but it is excruciatingly backward. It reveals an essence of creme de cassis character which sets it apart from other Pauillacs. The wine is displaying plenty of tannin, huge body, and sweet black currant fruit intermixed with minerals and subtle oak. Massive, extremely structured, and with 25-30 or more years of longevity, this immensely-styled Grand-Puy-Lacoste will require 7-8 years of patience, perhaps longer. A superb, classic Pauillac. Anticipated maturity: 2007-2030. (RP)" (04/1999)

2003 Monbousquet, St-Emilion (1.5L)
Bid on this magnum of 2003 Monbousquet, St-Emilion (1.5L) (93RP, 90ST, 90WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This was an amazing performance for Monbousquet. The 2003 exhibits plenty of fat and succulence along with a full-bodied, sexy mouthfeel, and lots of black cherry and black currant fruit intermixed with licorice, baking spices and roasted herbs. Fully mature yet in no danger of falling apart or in decline, the color remains a healthy plum/garnet to the rim. This full throttle 2003 was one of the great buys of the vintage when it was first released, and continues to prove that great winemaking and viticultural management from less heralded terroirs can result in wines well-above their pedigree. Drink this beauty over the next 2-3 years. (RP)" (08/2014)

2012 Saxum "Booker Vineyard" Paso Robles Rhone Blend
Bid on this bottle of 2012 Saxum "Booker Vineyard" Paso Robles Rhone Blend ((97-99RP), (91-94AG), 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Even better, and up with the top 2-3 wines in the vintage, the 2012 Booker Vineyard is a blend of 73% Syrah and 27% Mourvedre that saw 30% whole clusters during fermentation and aging in 60% new 350-liter French oak hogsheads. Possessing an insane level of purity and focus, with liquid violets, white chocolate, ground pepper, spice and licorice-laced dark fruit all soaring from the glass, this is a decidedly fresh, focused and elegant example of the vineyard. Nevertheless, it doesn’t skimp on fruit or texture and has awesome depth, richness and length. Like most of these 2012s, it should benefit from short-term cellaring, and knock your socks off over the following decade. " (08/2014)

1998 Cos d'Estournel, St-Estèphe
Bid on this bottle of 1998 Cos d'Estournel, St-Estèphe (90JS, 90ST). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Red-ruby. Currant, black olive, minerals and currant leaf on the nose. Bright, pure and focused, with aromatic inner-mouth flavors of cedar and lead pencil. Austere but not dry. More fruity and less tannic than the '96, but of roughly similar weight. Finishes firmly tannic, with sneaky persistence." (06/2001)
