Launois "Cuvée Reserve" Brut Blanc de Blancs Champagne (1.5L) Top Pick!
Launois "Cuvée Reserve" Brut Blanc de Blancs Champagne (1.5L)

Wine Spectator: "Notes Harvey Steinman, "...It had what I like to call a winey quality. The flavor profile was more like the fruit-mineral-spice balance of a complex, mouthwatering still Chardonnay wine than the yeasty-citrusy-toasty notes of many blanc de blancs Champagnes. The texture was on the plush side, but had enough acid backbone to be refreshing. 91 points, non-blind." (Web-2010)" K&L Notes: This spectacular Champagne is one of the most sought after in France, and Launois' cult status made it very difficult for us to make a purchase. We lucked out, and now we buy it directly... Read More »

Franck Bonville "Belles Voyes" Brut Blanc de Blancs Champagne (1.5L)

91 points Wine Spectator: "Richly spiced, with ground anise, clove, ginger and cardamom, this offers a lively bead, fresh acidity and flavors of quince, honey, pastry dough and golden raisin. Offers a soft, creamy finish. Drink now through 2018." (12/2012)90 points Wine Enthusiast: "This has finesse and elegance, with a thin stream of bubbles and crisp, dry apple flavor. It is taut with a cool feel, still young in the bottle and worth aging a year." (12/2012) K&L Notes: This is one of the best Champagnes we carry regardless of price. Made from the one-and-three-quarters acres Belles Voyes vineyard in Oger, this is Bonvill... Read More »

Franck Bonville Brut Rosé Champagne (1.5L)

Rated Extraordinary by the Underground Wine Journal, which writes: "This is a great rosé. Light pink in color it has an absolutely gorgeous perfume with raspberry and cherry fruit accented by floral citrus notes and a faint hint of spice. There is a creamy texture with a nice crispness underneath and the fruit is complex with raspberry, cherry, and citrus offset by a kiss of vanilla. Irresistible now this is really terrific." K&L's notes: This is the first time we have had the Rosé from Bonville, an estate that grows only Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs. Olivi... Read More »

Billecart-Salmon Brut Rosé Champagne (1.5L)

94 points Wine Enthusiast: "Such an elegant, ethereal wine, this orange-pink wine is dry and crisp with fruity raspberry flavor at the fore. This particular bottling could improve for a year, but makes a great food Champagne now." (12/2013)92 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "(roughly 50% chardonnay, 35% pinot noir and 15% pinot meunier; L344234): Light orange. Vibrant strawberry and orange zest aromas are complicated by notes of tea rose, smoky lees and chalky minerals. Bright, incisive red fruit flavors pick up a toasty nuance with air. Laurent-Perrier Brut Champagne (1.5L)

91 points Wine Enthusiast: "Laurent-Perrier’s dry style is reflected in this crisp, elegant and fine Champagne. The character is mineral, taut, with a great burst of citrus and white fruit acidity. The ensemble creates a delicious food-friendly wine." (12/2011)90 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Vivid yellow. Fresh pear and yellow apple on the perfumed nose and in the mouth. In a chewy, expansive style, but with good clarity and thrust. The pear note repeats on the persistent finish, which leaves notes of toasty lees, iodine and honeysuckle behind." (12/2013) Connoisseurs Guide: "Steering a little more toward yeast than it does to fruitines ...Read More »

Bruno Michel Brut Rosé Champagne (1.5L)

What an opportunity! One of Bruno Michel's other importers in Europe passed on this all-2006 (although not marked as a vintage) special lot of rosé in magnum. This all-Meunier, all skin contact rosé Champagne offers the same sort of savory flavor profile as the much loved "les Roses" but with more richness and a greater array of spicy complexity, at a better deal than the 750ml bottle. The balance of this wine is near perfect, with the wildness of the 750ml checked by bread-like richness. This is great rosé Champagne! (Gary Westby, K&L Champagne Buyer)

Veuve Clicquot Brut Champagne (1.5L)

90 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "(roughly 50% Pinot Noir, 30% Chardonnay and 20% Pinot Meunier; Lot 14009913): Light gold. Musky orchard fruits and dried fig on the mineral-accented nose. Fleshy and broad on the palate, offering smoky pear and nectarine flavors and a hint of honey. Finishes on a gently spicy note, with very good cling and a touch of bitter lemon pith. Things have definitely begun to turn around for this bottling, which had been lagging behind the winery's vintage offerings for some time." Krug "Grande Cuvée" Brut Champagne (1.5L)

97 points Wine Spectator: "This is all about balance and the integration of power and finesse, with finely honed acidity supporting flavors of quince paste, dried black cherry, spun honey and candied orange zest, while rich notes of roasted walnut, coffee liqueur and toasted cardamom resonate on the finish. Hard to stop sipping. Drink now through 2028." (9/2013)95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Krug’s NV Brut Grande Cuvee ID 112001 -- disgorged already over the winter of 2011-2012 but then further aged before release -- reinforces the belief that, thankfully, even wine lovers of modest means who occasionally splurg ...Read More »

Offers a lightly chalky finish. Disgorged January 2012. Drink now through 2020." (6/2013)91 points Antonio Galloni: "Light gold, with a faint onion skin cast. Michel Loriot "Authentic" Brut Champagne (previously Cuvee Reserve) (1.5L)

Champagne always tastes better from magnum! This all-estate grown Champagne is 100% Meunier from the village of Festigny. Unlike many "Reserve" designation Champagnes, this lives up to its name with half of the wine coming from old reserves. It is quite round, with a wonderful pie crust and spice nose, with some hints of exotic fruit in the flavor. This is medium to full bodied Champagne and makes great drinking on its own as well as being fantastic with pates of all sorts. (Gary Westby, K&L Champagne buyer)

Veuve Clicquot Brut Rosé Champagne (1.5L)

91 points Wine & Spirits: "Scents of cedar, forest mushrooms and red fruit rise out of this deep copper pink rosé. It’s bright and spicy, a lovely pinot noir essence over limestone minerality. Supple and finely made." (12/2011)90 points Wine Spectator: "The impression here is elegant overall, but there's a firm backbone of acidity that's finely meshed with the delicate range of flavors, including white raspberry, spiced plum, biscuit, pink grapefruit zest and a base note of smoky minerality. Michel Arnould Verzenay Brut Rosé Champagne (1.5L)

The Arnoulds own 27 acres in the village of Verzenay, a quite sizable holding in this high rent area. If you have enjoyed the wines of Lallement, Bollinger and Krug in the past, you may very much enjoy the bold Champagne of Michel Arnould. The Brut Rosé is 100% Pinot Noir Grand Cru, acquired by assembling different vintages and red Coteaux Champenoises coming from old vines. This lovely Rosé Champagne offers hints of raspberry, strawberry and redcurrant. Very refined on the palate where more berries and finally grenadine notes emerge.

2002 Moet & Chandon "Cuvée Dom Pérignon" Brut Champagne (1.5L)

96 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2002 Dom Perignon is at first intensely floral, with perfumed jasmine that dominates the bouquet. With time in the glass the wine gains richness as the flavors turn decidedly riper and almost tropical. Ripe apricots, passion fruit and peaches emerge from this flashy, opulent Dom Perignon. The wine's volume makes it approachable today, but readers in search of more complexity will want to cellar this for at least a few years to allow for some of the baby fat to drop off. Geoffroy describes the vintage as very ripe and adds that some of the Chardonnay ...Read More »

Pol Roger "White Foil" Brut Reserve Champagne (1.5L)

92 points Wine Enthusiast: "This is Pol Roger’s absolutely bone-dry Champagne. It is an exhilarating wine, pure by name and by its crisp citrus fruit and tight texture. It does have some of the typical weight of Pol Roger Champagnes, but with an edge. Let it breathe in the glass for a few moments, which will bring out some extra richness." (12/2011)90 points Wine Spectator: "Fresh and open-knit, this chalky Champagne offers lively notes of green apple and crunchy white peach fruit, spring blossom, biscuit and candied lemon zest. Krug Brut Rosé Champagne (1.5L)

96 points Wine & Spirits: "The best bottle of Krug Rosé we’ve tasted in some time, this is a glorious pinot noir, cloud-like in its raspberry and forest floor scents. It follows a chalk line of flavor, seamless and linear while the wine rolls and tumbles in precisely choreographed length. Delicate pink heaven in a glass." (12/2013)95 points Wine Spectator: "Very expressive and beautifully balanced, this is all in the details, from the palate-caressing texture to the vibrant acidity, finely meshed with flavors of black raspberry, plum, wild strawberry, candied citrus peel, honey and ground spice, accented by ...Read More »

Very layered and juicy. This was a very hot year for Champagne and a year for pinot noir. But this is so fresh and complex." (9/2014)95 points Wine Spectator: "Very elegant, ethereal in texture and well-knit, offering flavors of poached pear, black licorice, lemon pâte de fruit, pastry and ground ginger. Shows fine balance and integration, with a fresh, lasting finish of ripe fruit and saline minerality." (12/2014)93 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Yellow-gold. Fleury Brut Rosé Champagne (1.5L)

90 points Wine Spectator: "A superfine mousse heralds this elegant, vibrant rosé. Vanilla accents, with berry and spice flavors. Glides to a firm finish. Terrific balance and integration. Drink now." (12/2006) K&L Notes: The Fleury rosé is made entirely of Pinot Noir from Courteron, in the southern part of Champagne. Locals proudly say that their town is closer to Chablis than Reims, and the style of wine owes as much to Burgundy as the stylish bottle does to the grand marques of Champagne. The vineyards, which are all owned by Fleury, are farmed 100% biodynamically, the strictest form of orga... Read More »

1988 Lanson Vintage Collection Brut Champagne 1.5L

These magnums are only available on a special order basis- and will be disgorged fresh for you in Reims before being shipped to K&L. The 1988 Lanson Vintage Collection Brut Champagne is a spectacular magnum, from one of my very favorite vintages for drinking right now. This is one of the last "classic" Champagne vintages with a nice, long, even growing season. This wine only showed the slightest tinge of gold in its straw color after 25 years. The nose is developing the white truffle aromas that only time can bring, framed by the savory Pinot Noir charac... Read More »

2004 Dom Pérignon Brut Champagne (1.5L)

97 points Antonio Galloni: "This tasting only serves to highlight just how great the 2004 Dom Pérignon is. A wine that has totally blossomed in bottle, the 2004 is firing on all cylinders right now. Rich, ample and beautifully nuanced, the 2004 has it all; expressive aromatics, deep fruit and more than enough structure to age well for decades. I have been tasting the 2004 since before it was released and it just keeps getting better and better. Today, it is stunning. It is amazing to consider that in 2004, yields were the largest ever recorded in Champagne. (AG)" (5/2014)96 points James Suckling: "A return to ...Read More »

1990 Ruinart "Dom Ruinart" Brut Rosé Champagne Magnum 1.5L

92 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Copper-orange color, deeper at its core. Fascinating nose reminded me of a great 40-year-old red Burgundy : truffle, smoke, minerals, earth and a hint of celery seed. Then high-toned, quite ripe and uncompromisingly dry, with iron-like earth, mushroom and tobacco flavors suffused by a smoky, meaty character. Extremely idiosyncratic rose-and I love it! Finishes long and harmonious; shows Pedro Ximenez-like notes of toffee, raisin and molasses on the end, but sound acids give lift and verve to the aftertaste. 1999 Roederer "Cristal" Brut Champagne (1.5L)

98 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "One of the finest Champagnes I have ever brought to my lips, the 1999 Cristal bursts from the glass with fresh hazelnut and apple scents. Elegant, deep, and silky-textured, this medium to full-bodied beauty is immensely concentrated, pure, packed with apple flavors, and astoundingly long in the finish. Louis Roederer does not display a disgorgement date or consumer friendly lot number on its non-vintage Brut. This is regrettable as it has consistently been one of the finer bottlings in this category. (PR)" (12/2005)97 points James Suckling: "From the family collection, disgorged te ...Read More »
