2011 Saxum "Paderewski Vineyard" Paso Robles Red Blend
Bid on this bottle of 2011 Saxum "Paderewski Vineyard" Paso Robles Red Blend (97RP, 94AG, 94ST, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Kicking off the 2011s and about as seductive and sexy as they come in the vintage, the 2011 Paderewski Vineyard is an eclectic blend of 34% Zinfandel, 31% Mourvedre, 16% Tempranillo, 10% Syrah and 9% Petite Sirah that comes from a warmer terroir of chalky, calcareous soils. Full-bodied, seamless and perfectly balanced, it offers brilliant aromas and flavors of black raspberry, rose petal, bramble and violets that are to die for. A big wine to be sure, yet it stays remarkably elegant, poised and fresh on the palate, with no hard edges and an approachable, utterly impossible-to-resist profile that keeps you pouring another glass. Enjoy this gorgeous wine anytime over the coming 10-12 years. " (08/2014)

2010 Quilceda Creek Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 2010 Quilceda Creek Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (98RP, 96ST, 95WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "98+ points. Rich, backwards, structured and massively concentrated, the 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon comes mostly from the Champoux Vineyard (also from Galitzine, Klipsun, Palengat and Tapteil) and is comprised of 99% Cabernet Sauvignon and 1% Merlot that spent 22 months in all new French oak. Offering up plenty of creme de cassis, coffee bean, toasted spice, pencil shavings and violet-like qualities on the nose, it has palate staining levels of extract and tannin that come through on the mid-palate and finish. Gorgeously full-bodied, layered and textured, with perfect balance, this awesome Cabernet needs to be forgotten for 5-6 years and will have two to three decades of longevity. Drink 2018-2030. (JD)"

1970 Ridge "Monte Bello" Ruby Cabernet
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1970 Ridge "Monte Bello" Ruby Cabernet. Ruby Cabernet may seem like an oddball, old-fashioned varietal from the ever-experimental Ridge Vineyards, but it's a relatively modern cross of Carignane with Cabernet Sauvignon. Released from UC Davis in 1948, it's a productive workhorse that can be interesting when cropped low. What an unusual find!

2009 Abreu Howell Mountain Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this bottle of 2009 Abreu Howell Mountain Bordeaux Blend (98AG, 98RP). Antonio Galloni: "The 2009 Proprietary Red Howell Mountain wraps around the palate with masses of blue and black fruit, smoke, tar, incense and licorice. A dense, resonant wine, the 2009 stands out for its extraordinarily vivid fruit and equally compelling personality. This is pure Howell Mountain at its very best. With time in the glass the 2009 opens up beautifully. There is more than enough fruit to fill out the wine's huge, broad-shouldered frame. The 2009 Howell Mountain is 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Cabernet Franc, 12% Petit Verdot and 8% Merlot. "

Roasted aromas of currant, black cherry syrup, licorice and grilled nuts. Powerful but smooth and sweet, with superb, extremely unevolved dark berry flavors and a strong mineral note of graphite. Excellent acidity contributes to the impression of intensity. Very long, mounting finish features firm tannins and lively dark berry flavors. This bottling has been consistently superb in recent years, even in the difficult 1998 vintage. 93(+?) points" (06/2002)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Made in a lighter style, the fully mature 1999 reveals notes of beef blood, roasted herbs, black truffles, damp earth and black currants intermixed with hints of espresso and spice box. This medium-bodied, velvety textured, lush La Mission should hold nicely for a decade in a cold cellar. (RP)" (08/2012)

2009 Alban "Pandora" Edna Valley Rhone Blend
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2009 Alban "Pandora" Edna Valley Rhone Blend (97RP, 96AG, 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Even richer and fuller on the palate, and capable of standing toe-to-toe with the best Grenaches in the world, the 2009 Pandora checks in as a blend of 95% Grenache and 5% Syrah that was aged in 64% new French oak. Coming from a single block of pure chalk soils, its inky purple color is followed by notions of blackberry, black cherry liqueur, smoked ham, vanilla and hints of chalky minerality that give way to a full-bodied, layered and voluptuously textured wine. Despite all of the fruit, it has beautiful mid-palate density and a big, ripe tannic structure. Count me a fan and don’t miss an opportunity to taste this wine! Bid on this half-bottle lot of 2006 Sine Qua Non "Mr. K Straw Man" Marsanne Vine de Paille (375ml) (97RP, 95ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2006 Mr. K The Strawman Marsanne Vin de Paille is 100% Marsanne from the Beckmen Vineyard that boasts 240 grams of residual sugar per liter. A medium gold-colored effort, it reveals more marmalade notes interwoven with notions of maple syrup, honeysuckle, and exotic tropical fruits. This big, mountain-styled 2001 exhibits lots of structure, tannin, density and powerful flavors. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The light straw/green-colored 2004 Chardonnay Belle Cote offers an exotic nose of tropical fruits, litchi nuts, tangerines, and brioche. Gorgeous acidity buttresses the wine’s full-bodied, concentrated mouthfeel and freshness. It could easily pass for a grand cru from Chassagne-Montrachet. (RP)" (12/2006)

2006 Kongsgaard "Vio Rous" Napa Valley Viognier-Roussanne
Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2006 Kongsgaard "Vio Rous" Napa Valley Viognier-Roussanne (95RP, 94ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "One of California’s most exotic whites is Kongsgaard’s innovative blend of Roussanne and Viognier. It is reminiscent of some of Sine Qua Non’s whites. The 2006 Roussanne/Viognier (60% and 40% respectively) exhibits classic aromas of rose petals, lychee nuts, pineapples, honeysuckle, and a touch of lilacs. This exotic, exuberant wine will either be loved or hated by consumers. I happen to love it. (RP)" (12/2007)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The blockbuster 2000 Pinot Noir Clone 115 exhibits a deliriously intoxicating nose of jammy red and black fruits intermixed with spicy oak, minerals, and spring flowers. Once past the explosive, complex aromatics, it delivers on the palate with expansive, full-bodied, seamless, deep flavors. The finish lasts 40+ seconds. It should drink well for 4-6 years." 2008 Maybach Family "Materium" Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 2008 Maybach Family "Materium" Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon (96RP, 95WE, 94ST, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2008 Materium comes from a single block called the Weitz Vineyard at a 1,000-foot elevation on the eastern hillsides of Oakville. It would be hard to improve upon the virtually perfect 2007, but the 2008 is not far behind. Notes of graphite, blueberry, charcoal, spring flowers, and some background oak are followed by a dense, purple-colored wine with full-bodied power, great elegance, precision, and purity. This is again an extraordinary effort from Maybach. It should drink well for 20-25 years. (RP)" (12/2010)

2002 Domaine Michel Lafarge Beaune-Greves 1er Cru
Bid on this bottle of 2002 Domaine Michel Lafarge Beaune-Greves 1er Cru ((89-91BH)). Allen Meadows - Burghound: " **Outstanding** Very ripe red cherry, strawberry and pinot fruit aromas explode from the glass and introduce exceptionally fresh and exuberant, sappy and pure medium weight flavors underpinned by dusty, textured tannins and plenty of finishing velvet and silk. There is an utterly seductive inner mouth perfume and the length is most impressive. As good a young Lafarge Grèves as I can recall at this stage." (04/2004)

2002 Marquis d'Angerville Volnay 1er Cru "Clos des Ducs"
Bid on this bottle of 2002 Marquis d'Angerville Volnay 1er Cru "Clos des Ducs" (93BH, 92RP, 92ST). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Even after 10 years this remains almost as primary as when it was bottled as there are no secondary hints in evidence on the elegant and pure red berry fruit and stone-infused nose. The detailed, intense and strongly mineral-driven medium-bodied flavors possess a sophisticated mouth feel while coating the palate with dry extract. There is a noticeably firm acid spine on the moderately austere and gorgeously persistent finish. This is a distinctly understated vintage for Clos des Ducs that seems to be evolving at a glacially slow pace...As d'Angerville suggests, these '02s are brilliantly balanced and while they may not last quite as long as the more structured '99s, they are genuinely stunning wines. 1988 Lamarche Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru “La Grand Rue”
Bid on this bottle of 1988 Lamarche Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru “La Grand Rue” . Ancestors of the Lamarche family were already established in the village of Vosne-Romanée in around 1740. Since the end of the 19th century (for five generations), the estate has grown bigger over the years: Henri Lamarche, a cooper, married Marie Grivelet from Chambolle-Musigny and founded the estate at the beginning of the 20th century He produced, matured and already sold his wines directly from the estate. Their son, Henri Lamarche, born in 1903, took over the estate. He inherited la Grande Rue in 1933, the year of his marriage to Aline Demur (La Grande Rue became a grand cru for the INAO in 1989, the decree being passed in 1992). 2002 Pahlmeyer Napa Valley Merlot
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2002 Pahlmeyer Napa Valley Merlot (95RP, 93ST, 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Made from a blend of 96% Merlot and 4% Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2002 Merlot is the ultimate Merlot in terms of pure, seductive prowess. It possesses a dense purple color in addition to a gorgeous perfume of espresso roast, melted fudge, black currants, cherries and subtle smoke as well as earth, great intensity, and full-bodied opulence, in a voluptuous, juicy, unctuously textured style that cascades over the palate with no hard edges. This is haute couture of Merlot. Moreover, while it has always been open and accessible, this 2002 will last for another 15-20 years given its concentration. (RP)" (06/2012)

2009 Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru
Bid on this bottle of 2009 Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru. According to the importer, Michael Skurnik Wines: "Pierre Yves Colin was the winemaker for his father's Domaine Marc Colin until 2005. He began his own domaine, first as a micro-négociant operation, focusing on tiny quantities of the finest wines that he can buy. Now he has grown his domaine with the help of family holdings to 70% plots that he owns and 30% grapes he purchases. His holdings are mostly in Chassagne-Montrachet (where the domaine is located) but he also produces multiple bottlings of Meursault, St. Aubin, and Puligny-Montrachet. Pierre-Yves has rapidly become a star in Cote de Beaune and is now considered one of the pre-eminent young producers of White Burgundy. His choice to use larger demi-muid barrels and eschew the use of battonnage, makes each one of his bottlings a clear expression of its terroir and a study in mineral-driven Chardonnay.
