95 points Decanter: "The wine's appeal is heightened by the fact that Beaujolais Blanc is new to many wine lovers. Abundant white flower aromas, hints of melon and minerals; the taut, chalky palate has a taste of the soil. Quite serious, and worthy every penny." (3/2015) Antonio Galloni: "(raised in a combination of stainless steel and concrete tanks): Bright straw. Vibrant citrus fruit and melon aromas are sharpened by a hint of quinine and pick up a smoky nuance with air. Round and seamless on the palate, offering pliant honeydew and nectarine flavors and a refreshingly bitter lemon pith qual ...Read More »
92 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Bright violet color. Intense, mineral-tinged red and dark berry aromas show excellent clarity and hints of licorice and potpourri. Juicy and expansive on the palate, offering vibrant black raspberry and bitter cherry flavors that turn sweeter with air. Clean and minerally on the finish, which lingers with excellent tenacity and silky, slow-building tannins." Fleshy and broad in the mouth, with juicy blackberry and bitter cherry flavors gaining sweetness with air. Rich yet lively Beaujolais with excellent finishing clarity and cling and smooth tannins that come in late. This is a more delicate, juicier Morgon than the producer's Côte de Py. Foillard's Cuvée Corcelette exemplfies how far Beaujolais has come in the last few decades--the wine is so versatile and food friendly, served with a slight chill and a salad in the summer or a hearty stew of white beans and sausage in the winter.
The folks at Maison Louis Tête have been growing wine in Beaujolais since the start of the 19th century, and they own vineyards in all of the best of Beaujolais' crus. The Moulin-a-Vent is an eminently drinkable, juicy red table wine.
