Bid on this bottle of 2001 Domaine William Fèvre Chablis Grand Cru "Les Clos" (94BH, 94ST, 94W&S). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Brilliant pale, green-tinged color. Liquid stone, green apple, lime, mint and talc on the nose. Dense, chewy, penetrating and powerful, with extraordinary force in the middle palate. Tactile, dusty and gripping. The wine's ripeness and palate-staining length transcend the vintage. " (07/2003)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2010 Pax "Griffin's Lair" Sonoma Coast Syrah (93ST, 92AG). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Glass-staining ruby. A flamboyantly perfumed bouquet displays scents of cherry liqueur, cassis, bitter chocolate, anise and espresso, complicated by notes of dried flowers. Then youthful and vibrant in the mouth, offering energetic, finely etched flavors of ripe blackberry and boysenberry. Creamy and powerful but with excellent focus and vivacity. The sweet dark berry flavors linger impressively on the smooth, gently tannic finish." (06/2013)

1987 Chateau Montelena "Estate" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 1987 Chateau Montelena "Estate" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (98RP, 92ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Chateau Montelena has made so many sensational Cabernets that it seems almost impossible to believe that their 1987 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate could be even more profound than any of the exceptional wines made previously at this property. The black/purple color, the extraordinary bouquet of rich cassis, violets, and licorice, the massive extraction of flavors, sensational depth, super ripeness, and a length that must last over a minute, suggest to me that this is easily the most concentrated and potentially longest-lived Cabernet Sauvignon that Chateau Montelena has ever made. The extract level is incredible, yet the balance is there. Anticipated maturity: 1997-2025." (10/1993)

2001 Mommessin Grand Cru Clos de Tart
Bid on this bottle of 2001 Mommessin Grand Cru Clos de Tart (94RP, 93BH, 93ST, 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2001 Clos de Tart is aging beautifully and is maturing into one of Sylvain Pitiot’s finest wines. Replicating its performance in 2010, it has a very expressive bouquet of vivacious red berry fruit: wild strawberry and raspberry, laced with minerals and dried rose petals. The palate is very well-balanced and full of succulent brambly red fruit. Perhaps it is moving into its secondary phase less slowly than I anticipated, with nuanced undergrowth notes developing toward the finish, which remains very fruit-driven and tense. There is a sense of style and class to this Clos de Tart, a grand cru bound to age with those same attributes over the following decade and beyond. Drink now-2024+." (04/2014)

2007 Boisson-Vadot Meursault 1er Cru "Les Chevalières"
Bid on this 12-bottle lot of 2007 Boisson-Vadot Meursault 1er Cru "Les Chevalières" (90ST). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Medium yellow. Captivating, high-pitched nose combines lemon, white peach, powdered stone, smoke, flint and iodine. Then broad, dense and sweet but with brisk acids, a pungent crushed stone element and strong extract keeping the mid-palate under wraps today. Silky and quite full for the year but with firm acid/mineral spine giving this wine real grip. Finishes long and quite refined. A lovely 2007 for cellaring." (09/2010)

Wine Spectator: "Shows a lovely interplay between the creamy bead and rich notes of almond financier, apricot preserves, treacle and cardamom, with finely cut, persistent acidity and flavors of pastis, raspberry puree, fennel seed and fleur de sel. Offers a refined, lasting finish, with a push of saline-tinged minerality. Drink now through 2029. (Insider)" (11/2013)

2001 Dominio de Pingus "Flor de Pingus" Ribera del Duero
Bid on this bottle of 2001 Dominio de Pingus "Flor de Pingus" Ribera del Duero (95ST, 93WE, 92WS, 90RP). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Deep, bright ruby-red. Cherry, licorice and smoked meat at the outset; then exploded with raspberry fruit. Lush, smooth and silky, with lovely inner-mouth perfume. Highly complex flavors of raspberry, minerals, bitter chocolate and smoky oak convey an extraordinary sweetness without any excess weight. Expands wonderfully on the extremely long, aromatic finish, which features noble, palate-dusting tannins. From the recorked bottle, the wine again began with dominant smoky, tarry torrefaction notes, and within minutes was taken over by red berries and flowers. More classic than the '03, but the 2003 may be even richer." (09/2004)

Bid on this bottle of 2002 Domaine Raveneau Chablis 1er Cru "Vaillons" ((93-95RP), 91BH, 90ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2002 Chablis Vaillons offers aromas reminiscent of liquefied stones, spices, and pears. Medium to full-bodied, it bursts on the palate with awesome layers of creamed almonds, salt, flint, and white fruit pulp. Its extraordinary texture, super-rich, plush, and sexy, is only surpassed on the wow-scale by its stupendous length ... this level of quality and Bernard Raveneau had not reached for the grand crus yet! Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2009 Bruno Clavelier Nuits-St-Georges 1er Cru "Aux Cras" Vieilles Vignes (93BH, (91-93ST), 91WS). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Deep red-ruby. Slightly reduced aromas of violet, licorice, menthol and bitter chocolate. Juicy, tight and lively, with a strong underlying rocky quality providing energy. The firmly tannic finish leaves the palate vibrating. I'm not sure if I would have identified this superb wine blind as a 2009." (01/2011)

Of the 2010 Peter Michael "Ma Danseuse" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "Pure perfection, the amazing 2010 Pinot Noir Ma Danseuse is one of the greatest Pinots I have ever tasted ... anywhere. There are only 140 cases of this beauty, which was cropped at just over a ton of fruit per acre. It offers up notes of bouquet garni, roasted meats, black raspberries, black currants, strawberries and cherries. Of the 1990 Beausejour (Duffau-Lagarrosse), St-Emilion,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "One of the most singular Bordeaux I have ever tasted, it verges on being port-like, but it pulls back because of the extraordinary minerality and laser-like focus. The wine is massively concentrated, still black/purple-hued to the rim, and offers a nose of incense, blackberries, blueberry liqueur, acacia flowers, and forest floor. It reveals low acidity and high tannins, which are largely concealed by the sheer concentration and lavish glycerin the wine possesses."

Of the 2007 Domaine de la Janasse "Vieilles Vignes" Châteauneuf-du-Pape,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: " The finest wine I’ve ever tasted from the Sabon’s (although the 2010 gives it a run for its money), the 2007 Chateauneuf du Pape Vieilles Vignes is a flawless example of what this estate is capable of in a great year. Full-bodied, decadent and layered, with incredible purity and freshness, it boasts heavenly notes of blackberry, chocolate, licorice, red wine marinade and roasted meat. Inky, deep, and full-bodied to the core, the 2010 blasts out of the glass with graphite, pencil shavings, menthol, melted road tar, plum, cassis and licorice notes. The 2010 is an exciting, viscerally thrilling wine that takes hold of the sense and never lets up. Today, it is firing on all cylidners. Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2011 Saxum "Broken Stones" Paso Robles Rhône Blend (96RP, 95AG, 94ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The brilliant 2011 Syrah Broken Stones comes from a cooler block of the James Berry Vineyard and checks in as a blend of 78% Syrah, 18% Mourvedre and 4% Petit Sirah. Relatively forward (especially when compared to the locked up Bone Rock), with fabulous purity and freshness, it exudes notions of creme de cassis, blueberry, pepper, crushed flowers and sweet oak on the nose. 1996 Domaine Joseph Drouhin Marquis de Laguiche Montrachet Grand Cru
Bid on this bottle of 1996 Domaine Joseph Drouhin Marquis de Laguiche Montrachet Grand Cru (96BH, (94-96RP)). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "As is always the case with this negociant house, the Montrachet Marquis De Laguiche is given a longer elevage than any of the other white wines. The 1996 promises to be a stunner! Massively rich but precisely defined minerals, grilled hazelnuts, and toast engulf the nose. The impressive aromatics are followed by an awesomely complex, wide, broad-shouldered, tart, tightly-wound style of wine. As its minerals, toasted almonds, and notes of tropical fruits saturate the palate, they appear to grow in power and focus with each passing second. Intense, super-concentrated, highly-extracted, yet pure and steely, this Montrachet demands patience. I recommend holding it at least until 2005, and it should certainly evolve magnificently through 2015 given proper cellaring conditions. (Barrel Tasting) (PR)" (02/1998)

Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Fresh aromas of white peach, pineapple, lime and crushed stone. Rich, thick and full but with a pungent vein of stony minerality running through the wine and giving it energy and lift. Wonderfully silky and fine-grained grand cru with superb volume and a slowly building, extremely long finish. Before I tasted this approximation of the final blend, I tried the two components of this wine, from the top and lower parts of the vineyard. The Chevalier du Haut, which was near the end of its malo, showed an almost painful spine of acidity and minerality and a rather strict, calcaire-driven finish of lemon oil and iodine. The Chevalier du Bas was distinctly more floral and smoky on the nose and sweeter and more lush in the mouth, without quite the mineral tension of the first sample. But these two components should be extremely complem

It has a beautifully elegant nose of black fruits intermixed with truffle, flower, and oak. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Utterly perfect, the 2008 Chardonnay Marcassin Estate is a dead-ringer for the 2007, but slightly richer and longer, as hard as that may be to believe. This extraordinary effort is unquestionably the 'Chardonnay of the Vintage.' In fact, it may be the 'Chardonnay of the Decade.' Intense and elegant at once, with finesse and structure, ending with a saline and mineral aftertaste. Try it in five years. Best from 2014 through 2040. 1,000 cases made. –BS" (04/2011)

2003 Shafer "Hillside Select" Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 2003 Shafer "Hillside Select" Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon (100RP, 96WE, 93ST, 93WS, 92CG). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "One of the great so-called 'first growths' of Napa is Shafer’s 2003 Cabernet Sauvignon from their Stags Leap vineyard known as Hillside Select. This has been one of the top dozen or so wines in every vintage for over 15 years. A big wine at 14.9% alcohol, it is aged an atypically long time of 32 months in 100% new French oak, but at ten years of age, no oak is present. It is an utterly perfect wine, surpassing almost everything else made in 2003! It possesses everything one could desire in a Cabernet Sauvignon -- minerality, flowers, creme de cassis, blackberries, velvety tannins, a skyscraper texture, perfect balance and integration between the acidity, tannin, alcohol and wood, all well-concealed by the luxurious nature of this great wine. The finish is endless in this prodigious offering from a great family of grape growers and w

2003 Montrose, St-Estèphe
Bid on this 5-bottle lot of 2003 Montrose, St-Estèphe (99RP, 97JS, 96ST, 95WE, 95WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The blend in 2003 was 62% Cabernet Sauvignon, 34% Merlot (a very high percentage), 3% Cabernet Franc and 1% Petit Verdot. The wine, unlike most 2003s, has a freshness and liveliness provided by their extraordinary terroir. This wine can be drunk now. It has a dense bluish/purple color to the rim and an extraordinary nose of blueberries and mulberries, with blacker cassis and blackberry entering the picture. Scorched earth, spice and licorice are all present in this magnificent, full-bodied, opulent wine that is very Montrose, very classic and somewhat atypical of the vintage. Anticipated maturity: 2015-2040. (RP)" (08/2014)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2008 Fontaine-Gagnard Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru "La Romanée" (93BH). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Here the nose is marked by a certain exoticism that is less obvious than it typically is with relatively subtle aromas of citrus, mango, white peach and apricot aromas that are trimmed in a subtle touch of wood before introducing rich, full and generous flavors brimming with buckets of dry extract that really coat the palate yet the balanced finish is bone dry with terrific intensity and persistence. This and the Caillerets always seem to be the very best 1ers in the Fontaine stable and they again distinguish themselves most admirably in 2008." (06/2010)

2004 Henri Boillot Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2004 Henri Boillot Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru (96BH, (92-95ST)). Allen Meadows - Burghound: " *Don't Miss!* This is gorgeously pure and incredibly focused aromatically with an incredible breadth of aromas, from white flower to ripe orchard fruits nuanced by a panoply of spice notes. The unbelievably intense flavors are deep and strikingly transparent yet the level of dry extract this enjoys is nothing short of remarkable. The crystalline finish doesn't just end but rather its ends with one complex wave after another and the sense of energy and drive here is palpable. Flat out terrific." (07/2006)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "There are 1,500 cases of the 2003 Shiraz Alices (from 9-year-old vines), a wine of great nobility, purity, texture, and layers of flavor. While it possesses phenomenal power as well as richness, it carries itself with extraordinary elegance and finesse. The whopping 16.5% alcohol is beautifully incorporated into this massive, but impeccably well-balanced Shiraz. (RP)" (10/2006)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Cassis, black cherry and cacao can be discerned in the aromatics of the 2000 Gevrey-Chambertin Petite Chapelle. Lush, sweet, and enthralling, it is a dense, sultry, hugely concentrated offering. Red cherries, blackberries, spices, and black currants permeate its personality as well as its supple, interminable finish. (PR)" (06/2003)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2004 Mas Doix Costers de Vinyes Velles Priorat, Spain (OWC - 98RP, 93ST, 93WS) in original wood. 98 points from the Wine Advocate! They say, "The 2004 Costers de Vinas Viejas is 50% Carinena, 48% Garnacha, and 2% Merlot aged for 16 months in new French oak. Deep purple, the aromas are other-worldly with truffle, tar, graphite, kirsch, and wild blueberry among the array of scents leaping from the glass. Flamboyant and opulent, the wine has remarkable richness and depth of flavor leading to a 60-second finish. Drink this hedonistic effort over the next 10-12 years. 2/28/2007"

2004 Sylvain Cathiard Vosne Romanee 1er Cru "Aux Reignots"
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2004 Sylvain Cathiard Vosne Romanee 1er Cru "Aux Reignots" ((89-92BH)). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Cool and somewhat reserved spicy black fruit aromas laced with obvious minerality merge into deep, velvety and brooding flavors and an understated but long and penetrating finish. This is a really lovely effort with style and grace that is distinctly different than the other wines in the range as there is a coolness here similar to fine examples of Clos des Ducs or Reignots' immediate neighbor La Romanée. I find this to be really quite attractive and all the more so when you consider just how young the vines are." (01/2006)

Antonio Galloni: "Schrader's 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon RBS Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard is pure silk on the palate. The aromas, flavors and textures are incredibly refined and lifted. A soft, seamless wine that stands out for its gorgeous balance, the 2011 is showing beautifully today. Freshly cut flowers, mint and red berries all flow through to the impeccably refined finish. It is fascinating to taste the RBS next to Las Piedras. Both wines are Clone 337 Cabernet Sauvignon, but here we are in To Kalon, where the flavors seem to have a little more definition." (11/2013)

Bid on this bottle of 2006 Joseph Phelps "Insignia" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (95CG, 94RP, 94WE, 94WS, 92JS). Connoisseurs Guide: "*Three stars* Already amazingly seductive with wonderfully rich aromas of sweet oak, cocoa and fully expressed fruit making a first-rate introduction, this riveting young wine in no way lets up on the palate and delivers deep, multi-faceted flavors that combine ripeness, sweet oak and very precise fruit in near-perfect proportion. As is often the case with Insignia bottlings, it is so beautifully balanced that it invites early drinking, and, while we do not condemn giving in to its charms, we also would lobby strongly for patience as its best years lie down the line."

Bid on this bottle of 2010 Cayuse "Armada Vineyard" Walla Walla Valley Syrah (97RP, 97WE, 95ST, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Christophe’s Armada Vineyard Syrah has slowly become one of my favorite releases and the 2010 Syrah Armada Vineyard does nothing to dampen my growing enthusiasm for the vineyard. From a high-density planting in 2001 that lies just behind the winemaking facility (or 'studio' if you’re talking with Christophe), it offers up a brilliant bouquet of sweet kirsch and plum liqueur intermixed with notions of bacon fat, wild herbs, ground pepper and liquid rock. Evolving beautifully with air and incredibly complex aromatically, it is full-bodied, voluptuously textured and delivers serious levels of fruit and richness without ever seeming the least bit heavy or cumbersome."

2004 Alban Edna Valley Grenache
Bid on this bottle of 2004 Alban Edna Valley Grenache (99RP, 94WS, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "We should all be happy about this as the 2004 Grenache is easily one of the top examples of the variety I’ve tasted from California. Flirting with perfection and reminding me of Clos Saint Jean’s Deus Ex Machina from Chateauneuf du Pape (despite being 100% Grenache and having no Mourvedre in the blend), it will easily stand toe to toe with the greatest southern Rhones out there. Sporting a semi-opaque, youthful ruby color, it offers spectacular aromas and flavors of smoked black cherries, melted licorice, graphite, smoked meats and roasted herbs that continue to evolve and gain in richness and depth with time in the glass. Full-bodied and decadent, yet far from a heavyweight, it is graceful and lively on the palate with no hard edges, perfect balance and a seamless, elegant profile that shows only hints of maturity. Bid on this bottle of 2012 Kosta Browne "Giusti Ranch" Russian River Valley Pinot Noir (94RP, 92AG, 92ST, 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "I believe a new vineyard, the 2012 Pinot Noir Giusti Vineyard, shares some similarities to the the Koplen Vineyard, with its intense, focused style. Showing plenty of plum, licorice, toasted spices (cinnamon) and hints of vanilla bean, this beauty flows onto the palate with no hard edges, beautiful mid-palate density and a focused, lengthy feel on the finish. Nothing is out of place here, and it's a rock-star bottle of wine that can be consumed anytime over the coming 4-6 years. (JD)" (10/2014)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "I opted to just list my scores for the older releases as I find Bob's initial write-ups spot on. (JD) [This exceptional effort is a model example of what can be done with white varietals in California’s Central Coast. An exceptional bouquet of lemon blossom, nectarine, orange marmalade-infused honey, quince, and citrus are stunningly aromatic and provide profound richness, yet the freshness, precision, and overall lift are remarkable for a wine of this power and intensity. It offers a prodigious glass of dry white wine that should drink handsomely for a decade. In short, I call it 'How do he do it man.' (RP, 6/2008)]" (08/2013)
