2011 Schrader "Beckstoffer Las Piedras, LPV" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (OWC)
Bid on this bottle of 2011 Schrader "Beckstoffer Las Piedras, LPV" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (OWC - 93RP, 91AG, 90WS) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Schrader’s newest offering is the 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Las Piedras Vineyard LPV, which comes from clone 337 of the Las Piedras site. This is a west side valley floor vineyard with a foundation of alluvial river pebbles and rocks as well as gravelly loam. The Schraders have a long-term lease on 5 acres, which, added to their 16 acres of Beckstoffer To Kalon and 5 acres of Beckstoffer George III, gives them some pretty serious leases on some of the finest terroirs in Napa Valley. The softest wine of this portfolio, there are 350 cases of the 2011 LPV, far less than the 600 cases produced in 2012. Given its warm micro-climated, these grapes were picked before the rains descended. The wine exhibits a dark ruby/purple color, supple tannins, and sweet red and black currants, licorice, Christmas fruitcake, i

2007 Quilceda Creek Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 2007 Quilceda Creek Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (100RP, 96WE, 95ST, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A monumental wine in the making, the 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon is one of those wines that presents such an over the top array of aromas and flavors that it’s hard to figure out what you think about it with just a quick glance. It’s only with the second or third sip that you really start to see how special this effort truly is. Offering up perfumed, intense aromas of plum, violets, ink, licorice and black currants, it flows onto the palate with a massive, incredibly full-bodied texture that builds through the mid-palate and carries layers of polished tannins, awesome purity of fruit and blockbuster length. Most likely not for everyone given the sheer size, it is an incredible wine in my opinion. Still tasting like a barrel sample, it will have 30+ total years of longevity. Drink 2017-2037. Assorted Ridge "York Creek" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Tasting Lot
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of Assorted Ridge "York Creek" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Tasting Lot, including 1-bottle of 1979 Ridge "York Creek" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, 1-bottle of 1983 Ridge "York Creek" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, and 1-bottle of 1990 Ridge Vineyards "York Creek" Napa Valley Merlot. Of the 1979 Ridge "York Creek" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon,Where quality is concerned, York Creek owner Fritz Maytag has credentials. His Anchor Steam Beer is one example, his vineyards in Napa's Mayacamas Range another. Ridge made its first York Creek wine in 1971. Yields on the old, dry-farmed vineyards are low; clusters and berries are small. The word "intensity" is inescapable; it also applies to the wines. They have considerable structure - firm acid, big tannins - and take their time to come around. Then they stay around a long time, growing ever more interesting.

Of the 2012 Carter "Beckstoffer To Kalon-The Three Kings" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "Another killer effort is the 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard The Three Kings. It’s splitting hairs at this level of quality, but this cuvée achieved 14.8% natural alcohol compared to its siblings’ 14.9%. You certainly can’t tell that in the glass. Bid on this bottle of 2010 Sine Qua Non "Five Shooter" Central Coast Syrah (98AG, 98RP, 94ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2010 Syrah Five Shooter is straight up gorgeous. A massive wine that somehow holds everything together, it offers a wild array of cassis, blackberry, white chocolate, underbrush and pepper that flows to a full-bodied, layered Syrah that has masses of fine tannin and enough substance to evolve for decades. A blend of 85% Syrah, 5% Grenache, 3% Petite Sirah, 5% Roussanne and 2% Viognier that was fermented with 20% whole cluster and aged 22 months in 59% new French oak, it opens up beautifully in the glass and should be decanted if drinking anytime soon. Wine Enthusiast: "* Editors' Choice - #5 of Top 100 Wines of 2010 * An extraordinary Cabernet that stands out even in this great vintage, and among its Rutherford peers. Quite dry and tannic in youth, it shows an astringency that strongly suggests the cellar. Underneath are powerhouse flavors of blackberries, black and red cherries, spices, tea and cedar. Bid on this bottle of 2001 Paul Hobbs "Beckstoffer To-Kalon" Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon (97RP, 94WE, 94WS, 91ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "From the undeniable first-growth quality site comes the 2001 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To-Kalon Vineyard. When the fruit from this vineyard is handled properly, the resulting wine often flirts with perfection. Hobbs’ 2001 boasts a dense blue/purple color along with an incredibly pure nose of spice box, cedarwood, creme de cassis, blueberry pie and subtle smoke as well as graphite notes that could easily pass for a first- or second-growth Pauillac. Broad, expansive, full-bodied flavors reveal stunning purity, amazing depth and richness, and a finish that goes on for nearly a minute. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This wine exhibits a dense ruby/purple color as well as sweet tannin, and copious black currant fruit intermixed with soil undertones and licorice. The wine is medium to full-bodied, pure, ripe, and nicely-textured with a long finish. Heitz Wine Cellars has followed their impressive 1996 with this equally splendid special commemorative cuvee honoring the late Joe Heitz. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The dense ruby/purple-colored 1999 Monbousquet exhibits a port-like bouquet of super-ripe black cherry and black currant fruit intermixed with scents of coffee, tobacco, and vanilla. Tipping the scales at a whopping 14% alcohol (extremely high for Bordeaux), this wine, which spends 18 months in 100% new oak and is bottled unfined and unfiltered, is a blend of 60% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Franc, and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. It was cropped at an amazingly low 30 hectoliters per hectare. It possesses an amazing texture, a mid-palate that you could get lost in, and a sensational 40-45 second finish. The exotic aromas, incredible texture, and abundant fruit are reminiscent of Pomerol's renowned micro-cuvee, Le Pin. The 1999 is even better from bottle than it was from cask. On the attack, the wine is sweet and pure, with striking symmetry, and a compellingly balanced mid-palate and finish. Aged in American oak, this deep ruby/purple-tinged Zin reveals notes of Provencal herbs intermixed with freshly ground pepper, plums, cherries, and kirsch liqueur. It possesses excellent texture, a full-bodied palate, wonderful density, and a chewy, heady, hedonistic personality. Drink it over the next 4-5 years. " (02/2005)

2012 Alain Hudelot-Noellat Bourgogne Rouge
Bid on this 5-bottle lot of 2012 Alain Hudelot-Noellat Bourgogne Rouge. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2012 Bourgogne Rouge comes from four parcels, two located in Chambolle with one parcel over 60-years old, the others between 30 and 40 years. It has a crisp delicate bouquet with scents of raspberry leaf and blackberry, hints of bergamot developing with aeration. The palate is clean and fresh with pert raspberry and redcurrant fruit on the entry, well judged acidity and a brisk, linear finish as fresh as a daisy. Lovely! " (12/2013)

2009 Brewer-Clifton "Ampelos Vineyard" Sta Rita Hills Pinot Noir
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2009 Brewer-Clifton "Ampelos Vineyard" Sta Rita Hills Pinot Noir (92RP, 92ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Pinot Noir Ampelos comes across as quite energetic and tightly wound. Dark cherries, plums, sweet spices and menthol emerge, but only with great reluctance. Sweet floral notes and licorice appear later, adding complexity and nuance to the red fruit. There is marvelous integrity in the glass; the only thing needed is time. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2021. Of the 2010 Robert Craig Mount Veeder Cabernet Sauvignon,Wine Enthusiast writes: "*Cellar Selection* Tasted in summer, 2013, this Cab was so tannic it was basically undrinkable. The astringency locks down the palate, but through it are faintly discernible notes of the wine’s richness, in the form of incredibly concentrated blackberries, black currants, dark chocolate and smoky oak. Give this wine at least eight years in the cellar, and it should be providing plenty of delicious pleasure for an additional decade beyond that, if not even longer." (11/2013)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2012 Caymus "40th Anniversary" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (96RP, 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "I am old enough to remember Chuck Wagner and his father, who I first met at Caymus in the late seventies. This is clearly one of Napa Valley’s iconic wineries, as well as one that, amazingly, never went through a bad patch. Obviously, no matter which generation is in the driver’s seat (or should I say tractor’s seat), Caymus Vineyard knows how to deliver flavor and deliciousness." (10/2014)

2005 Lewis Cellars "Reserve" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2005 Lewis Cellars "Reserve" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (96CG, 93WS). Connoisseurs Guide: "***Three Stars*** As deep and defined and impressively structured as any wine in this issue, Lewis adds to its recent string of show-stopping Char-donnay successes with a Cabernet that stands with the best. A big, highly extracted wine whose concentration and sheer sense of scale are matched by few, it shows layer upon layer of cassis, creamy oak, cola, chocolate, coffee and loamy soil qualities that outdistance its ample young tannins and handily buffer its scant edge of heat. Downright enthralling, yet only a shadow of what it is bound to become, it deserves seeking out and needs to be cellared for ten or more years." (08/2008)

Easily the best Groth Cabernet in many years, dry, full-bodied and crazily rich in blackberries, cherries, tobacco and new oak. The ripe, sweet fruit is held in check by brisk acidity and firm tannins, resulting in an exciting tension. Beautiful now, and should develop gracefully throughout the decade. " (02/2012)

2010 Carlisle "James Berry Vineyard" Paso Robles Syrah
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2010 Carlisle "James Berry Vineyard" Paso Robles Syrah (92RP, 90WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Smoke, tar, incense, licorice and game literally explode from the glass in the 2010 Syrah James Berry Vineyard. A deep, imposing wine, the 2010 shows the more masculine side of Syrah in its flavor and structure. Big tannins frame the broad, explosive finish. This isn’t a subtle wine by any means, but it is full of personality. The James Berry Syrah was made with about 17% whole clusters. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2025. " (04/2013)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2010 Paul Jaboulet Aîné "Domaine de Thalabert" Crozes-Hermitage (93RP, 92ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2010 Crozes-Hermitage Domaine de Thalabert, which I raved about last year, is slightly better than their brilliant 2009. It boasts a dense purple color along with a beautiful perfume of camphor, licorice, forest floor, black currants and Christmas fruitcake. With tremendous intensity, full body and supple tannins, it should drink well for 10-15 years, perhaps longer where well-stored. This cuvee is always one of the best buys in the Northern Rhone. A long, singed iron note hangs on the finish. Shows amazing power and vivacity. A new paradigm for Cornas. Best from 2013 through 2023. 50 cases imported. " (10/2011)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2010 Pax "Griffin's Lair" Sonoma Coast Syrah (93ST, 92AG). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Glass-staining ruby. A flamboyantly perfumed bouquet displays scents of cherry liqueur, cassis, bitter chocolate, anise and espresso, complicated by notes of dried flowers. Then youthful and vibrant in the mouth, offering energetic, finely etched flavors of ripe blackberry and boysenberry. Creamy and powerful but with excellent focus and vivacity. 1987 Chateau Montelena "Estate" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 1987 Chateau Montelena "Estate" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (98RP, 92ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Chateau Montelena has made so many sensational Cabernets that it seems almost impossible to believe that their 1987 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate could be even more profound than any of the exceptional wines made previously at this property. The black/purple color, the extraordinary bouquet of rich cassis, violets, and licorice, the massive extraction of flavors, sensational depth, super ripeness, and a length that must last over a minute, suggest to me that this is easily the most concentrated and potentially longest-lived Cabernet Sauvignon that Chateau Montelena has ever made. The extract level is incredible, yet the balance is there. Anticipated maturity: 1997-2025." (10/1993)

2001 Mommessin Grand Cru Clos de Tart
Bid on this bottle of 2001 Mommessin Grand Cru Clos de Tart (94RP, 93BH, 93ST, 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2001 Clos de Tart is aging beautifully and is maturing into one of Sylvain Pitiot’s finest wines. Replicating its performance in 2010, it has a very expressive bouquet of vivacious red berry fruit: wild strawberry and raspberry, laced with minerals and dried rose petals. The palate is very well-balanced and full of succulent brambly red fruit. Perhaps it is moving into its secondary phase less slowly than I anticipated, with nuanced undergrowth notes developing toward the finish, which remains very fruit-driven and tense. There is a sense of style and class to this Clos de Tart, a grand cru bound to age with those same attributes over the following decade and beyond. Drink now-2024+." (04/2014)

2001 Dominio de Pingus "Flor de Pingus" Ribera del Duero
Bid on this bottle of 2001 Dominio de Pingus "Flor de Pingus" Ribera del Duero (95ST, 93WE, 92WS, 90RP). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Deep, bright ruby-red. Cherry, licorice and smoked meat at the outset; then exploded with raspberry fruit. Lush, smooth and silky, with lovely inner-mouth perfume. Highly complex flavors of raspberry, minerals, bitter chocolate and smoky oak convey an extraordinary sweetness without any excess weight. Expands wonderfully on the extremely long, aromatic finish, which features noble, palate-dusting tannins. From the recorked bottle, the wine again began with dominant smoky, tarry torrefaction notes, and within minutes was taken over by red berries and flowers. More classic than the '03, but the 2003 may be even richer." (09/2004)
