2007 Pride Mountain Sonoma/Napa Counties Merlot

94 points Wine Spectator: "(#34 on the Top 100 of 2010) Lush and rich, yet impeccably structured, with bold red currant and toasty mocha aromas and layered flavors of ripe plum, loamy earth and spice, finishing with big but ripe tannins." (6/2010)92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2007 Merlot, which comes from both Napa and Sonoma fruit (the Pride Mountain vineyards are split by the county line), exhibits a dense purple color as well as abundant chocolate and berry fruit notes, medium to full body, and great freshness, length, and depth. It is a heady, succulent style of Merlot to drink over the next 7-10 years ...Read More »

2007 Joseph Swan "Trenton Estate" Russian River Valley Syrah

90 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Opaque ruby. Black and blue fruits on the nose, complicated by notes of black cardamom and candied violet. Spicy and precise on entry, then fleshier in the mid-palate, offering sweet blackberry and boysenberry flavors lifted by zesty acidity. The smoky, sweet, clinging finish leaves a note of cracked pepper behind." (5/2012)90 points Wine Enthusiast: "This is a notable wine for its smooth, supple tannins and its intense flavors of black cherry jam, mocha, bacon, black pepper and sandalwood. 2007 Peay Vineyards "Scallop Shelf" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir

95 points Wine & Spirits: "Scallop Shelf takes its name from the fossils found in the soil at this old fruit orchard, a vineyard site four miles from the Pacific. It's a blend of six clones, emphasizing the spicy red fruit character of the Pommard clone, which, when it hits on the far Sonoma Coast, makes some of the region's most distinctive pinot noirs. The wine is transparent in color and in its strawberry-like fruit, bright and intense against the smoky conifer minerality of the soil. There's a weave of energy to it, tart and brash as a young wine, growing more focused and refi ...Read More »

2007 Peay "La Bruma" Sonoma Coast Syrah

93 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Bright purple. Vibrant raspberry, cherry, potpourri and incense on the sharply focused, highly expressive nose. Dense, juicy and sweet, with graceful strawberry and raspberry flavors and a supple, seamless texture. Picks up spiciness and floral character, as well as a hint of smoke, with a few minutes of aeration. Finishes very long, with gentle tannins and a strong note of candied flowers. I marginally prefer this wine's elegance to the power of the Les Titans today." (5/2010) K&L Notes: La Bruma ("the mist or fog") pays tribute to the role fog plays in producing th... Read More »

2007 Peay Vineyards "Les Titans" Estate Sonoma Coast Syrah

92 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Inky violet. Powerful aromas of crushed blackcurrant, violet, black pepper and olive. Lush and sappy, with deeply concentrated black and blue fruit and spice flavors energized by smoky minerality. Nothing thick or heavy about this wine, which packs a real punch. Finishes with enticing spicy lift and very good persistence. This should be even better with a bit of bottle age." (6/2010)

2007 Mount Eden "Estate" Santa Cruz Mountains Chardonnay

94 points Wine Enthusiast: "This is a big, vital Chardonnay brimming with fresh acids and oak, whose underlying pineapple, pear and lemon-lime flavors are delicious. Despite the richness, it's dry and crisp in acidity, with a minerally tang. Drink now." (2/2011)93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The Mount Eden 2007 Chardonnay Estate (normal release) comes across as quite lush and fat relative to the Reserve tasted alongside it. This is a sweet, generous style, with beautifully filled out layers of fruit and an open, inviting personality, while the Reserve is decidedly more mineral-driven and pointed. 2007 Laurel Glen Sonoma Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon

93 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Glass-staining ruby. Pungent, assertively spicy scents of red- and blackcurrant, licorice, pipe tobacco and cocoa powder, plus a sexy floral quality. Broad and pliant but focused, offering sweet red and dark berry flavors, a candied cherry note and an exotic rose pastille nuance. There's a spine of minerality here that keeps the sweet fruit and floral flavors in check and adds lift and cut to the long, spicy finish. Very young but has the depth and balance to reward at least a decade of patience. 93+ points (ST)" (5/2010) Wine Spectator: "Offers a dry, savory mix of loamy ...Read More »

2007 Williams-Selyem "Westside Road Neighbors" Russian River Valley Pinot Noir

95 points Connoisseurs Guide: "*Three stars* The Westside Road Neighbors bottling is traditionally one of our Williams Selyem favorites, and it rises to the head of the class once again in 2007. It leads with the deep and downright succulent aromas of wonderfully pure cherry-like fruit that mark the best of its district, and, even if a little tight in construction, it shows fruity substance to spare and its precise, well-extracted flavors go on and on. 2007 Kosta Browne "Garys' Vineyard" Santa Lucia Highlands Pinot Noir

93 points Connoisseurs Guide: "The outstanding vineyard that is the source of these grapes is a name that shows up on more than a few labels, but, in this vintage, none rival this bottling in fruity strength. Similarly the wine is unequaled when it comes to fine balance, and its fleshy, fully expressed fruit is underpinned by tailored tannins that, combined with its sense of sheer depth, make for an eminently ageworthy Pinot with a future as bright as bright gets." This full-bodied, classic Insignia reveals fabulous depth, ripeness, texture, viscosity and richness. Still young and unformed, it should evolve for 25 or more years. 2007 Marcassin "Marcassin Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir
Bid on this bottle of 2007 Marcassin "Marcassin Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir (98RP, 96WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: " I had always believed the 2007 Pinot Noir was the finest Helen Turley and John Wetlaufer had produced at their Estate Vineyard, but after doing this vertical and seeing the performances of the 1998, 2002 and 2004, that belief rings somewhat hollow. The still young, incredible 2007 has all the potential needed to achieve a three-digit rating in a few years. A dense plum/purple color is followed by notes of subtle smoke, barbecue spice, blueberries, red and black currants, flowers, and a smoky meat-like character that I first compared to the aroma of Peking duck. There is something exotic about this full-bodied, dense 2007. Young and vibrant, it should hit its peak in 5-6 years, and last until 2030-2035. Fleshy and voluptuous with terrific floral notes, it should drink well for 15-20 years." (12/2010)

2007 Flowers "Camp Meeting Ridge" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir

91 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "*Outstanding* An exceptionally pretty nose features notes of fresh cranberry and strawberry yet there is good breadth and depth to the fruit and this depth continues as the detailed and obviously mineral-infused flavors possess excellent balance and fine length. This is a genuinely lovely effort and despite the expressiveness of the nose, it's actually relatively understated in the mouth. While 45 minutes in a decanter will render this approachable now, the balance should enable it to age well." (10/2009) Wine Spectator: "Tight and edgy, with firm mineral, dusty berry, sag ...Read More »

2007 Pax "Cuvee Moriah" Sonoma County Rhône Blend

90 points Wine Spectator: "Firm and focused, with a tight beam of spicy berry, mineral, sage and tea. Full-bodied and well-structured, ending with tannins that give the flavors traction. Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre and Counoise. Drink now through 2017. 450 cases made." (03/10) 90 points Robert Parker: "The dark ruby/garnet-hued 2007 Pax Cellars Cuvee Moriah (80% Grenache and the rest Syrah, Mourvedre, and Counoise) exhibits kirsch liqueur, pepper, lavender, licorice, and damp earth characteristics. This medium-bodied, Rhone-styled red should drink nicely... Read More »

Of the 2007 Tablas Creek "Esprit de Beaucastel" Paso Robles Rhône Blend (1.5L),Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "The prodigious 2007 Esprit de Beaucastel is a blend of 44% Mourvedre, 29% Grenache, 21% Syrah, and the rest Counoise. A very great wine, very much in the mold of its French cousin, Chateau Beaucastel, the wine has a saturated ruby/purple color and a gorgeous nose of melted licorice, charcoal, blueberry, and blackberries intermixed with freshly sliced mushrooms, tree bark, and pepper. Spicy, dense, full-bodied, and extraordinarily complex, yet at the same time well-delineated and fresh, it should drink well for 10-15+ years. (RP)" (08/

2007 Williams-Selyem Russian River Valley Pinot Noir Back In Stock!
2007 Williams-Selyem Russian River Valley Pinot Noir

92 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Vivid red. Expressive aromas of black raspberry, Asian spices and fresh rose, with a nervy mineral underpinning. Lively and sharply focused, offering sweet red and dark berry flavors and an exotic floral pastille quality. The finish strongly echoes the red fruit and spice notes and is strikingly persistent. This is already long on personality but I'd give it at least three more years of cellaring." (6/2009)92 points Wine & Spirits: "A bright pinot noir with lush cherry flavors that feel silken and plump, this has a fine glint of acidity in the end. The oak behind it becomes smokier ...Read More »

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2007 Marcassin "Three Sisters Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Chardonnay (96RP, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2007 Chardonnay Three Sisters Vineyard (a terrific site owned by the Martinelli family) reveals a straw color with a greenish hue (always a positive sign) and a wonderful citrus oil, lemon blossom and crushed rock-scented perfume with a subtle hint of oak as well as a distinctive minerality. Full-bodied with good acidity and superb purity, it should drink well for 10-15 years. 96+ points. (RP)" (02/2011)

2007 Kistler "Cuvée Catherine-Occidental Station" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir

95-97 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The compelling 2007 Pinot Noir Cuvee Catherine from the Occidental Station Vineyard on the Sonoma Coast is made entirely from the Calera clone. Deep ruby/purple with crushed raspberries, violets, Chinese black tea, and chalky, almost wet stone-like notes, the wine is rich, full-bodied, multi-dimensional, with superb depth and length, and a remarkable finish." (12/2008)93 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Vibrant ruby. Aromatic, high-pitched nose combines black raspberry, cherry, violet pastille and smoky minerals. Juicy, spicy and sweet, with a supple texture and excellent complexity to the ...Read More »

2007 Saxum "Heart Stone Vineyard" Paso Robles Rhône Blend

98 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The late-released 2007 Heart Stone, which spent 28 months in a combination of barrels, demi-muids, and pungeons, turned out to be a final blend of 65% Syrah, 21% Grenache, and 14% Mourvedre. Like all of Justin Smith’s 2007s, it is a riveting, sensational wine that carries its heavy weight, profound richness, and intensity very gracefully. That is no doubt an effect of the limestone soils of this region. Blackberry and smoked meats as well as some garrigue and floral notes are followed by a dense, rich, pure, multi-layered wine that just screams for grill ...Read More »

2007 Pride Mountain "Reserve" Sonoma/Napa Counties Cabernet Sauvignon

95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve is a slightly more brooding and formidably endowed effort displaying more extract, tannin and structure. In spite of its massive size, concentration and extract, it possesses gorgeously sweet tannins as well as a sense of equilibrium." (12/2010)94 points Wine Spectator: "A rich, savory style, thick and concentrated, offering firm cedar, black licorice, mineral and graphite, with a touch of espresso and tar. Full-bodied, chewy and complex, very backward now but sure to reward. (Web-2011)"93 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Bright, full red.
