1998 Rockford "Basket Press" Shiraz Barossa Valley South Australia
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1998 Rockford "Basket Press" Shiraz Barossa Valley South Australia (90RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Given his very traditional style of winemaking, my instincts suggest these wines probably are least impressive in their first several years of life, and that certainly seemed to be confirmed by the best vintages in the vertical. Nevertheless, this wine is loaded with potential. The wine exhibits a saturated black ruby/purple color, a superb nose of blackberries, relatively high tannin, a full body, and a closed, dense, chewy constitution. Anticipated maturity: 2005-2020. (RP)" (02/2002)

2004 Penfolds "Kalimna—Block 42" Cabernet Sauvignon South Australia
Bid on this bottle of 2004 Penfolds "Kalimna—Block 42" Cabernet Sauvignon South Australia (100JS, 98ST, 97RP, 97WE, 97WS). James Suckling: "This is phenomenal, with game, meat, deer and fruit. Black truffles. Wild fruit. Insane. Black and green olives. Full bodied, with big velvety tannins and a long, long finish. Amazing sliced meat and fruit character. Fabulous wine that just blows me away and makes me think of great pre-phyloxera Bordeaux of 1864 and 1865. From vines in the mid-1880s. About 10 acres. 500 cases. Screwcap." (11/2011)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "There are 1,500 cases of the 2003 Shiraz Alices (from 9-year-old vines), a wine of great nobility, purity, texture, and layers of flavor. While it possesses phenomenal power as well as richness, it carries itself with extraordinary elegance and finesse. The whopping 16.5% alcohol is beautifully incorporated into this massive, but impeccably well-balanced Shiraz. (RP)" (10/2006)

1999 D'Arenberg "The Dead Arm" Shiraz McLaren Vale South Australia
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1999 D'Arenberg "The Dead Arm" Shiraz McLaren Vale South Australia (96RP, 91JH, 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This estate's most renowned offering is their old vine Shiraz (90+ year old vines) called The Dead Arm. The unfined/unfiltered 1999 The Dead Arm Shiraz (2,000 cases) was aged in 100% new oak, of which 70% was American and 30% French. It is about as natural and unmanipulated a product of the vineyard as one can find. Full-bodied and awesomely rich, notes of black pepper, licorice, and blackberry as well as cherry liqueur cascade over the palate with enormous concentration and intensity, high tannin, and a structured, muscular style. Give it 3-4 years of cellaring, and consume it over the following 2-3 decades. It is a timeless museum piece made in a style that can only be produced in Barossa or McLaren Vale." (10/2002)

2003 Greenock Creek "Seven Acre" Shiraz Barossa Valley
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2003 Greenock Creek "Seven Acre" Shiraz Barossa Valley (98RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "From 16-year-old vines, the inky/purple-tinged 2003 Shiraz Seven Acres was aged 28 months in American wood, but it has soaked up all its vanillin characteristics, exhibiting a beautifully sweet nose of blueberries, blackberries, tar, and crushed rocks. Dense, full-bodied, and opulent, this stunning Shiraz is a candidate for “Shiraz of the Vintage” in 2003. Drink it over the next 15+ years." (10/2006)

2004 Penfolds Bin 60A Cabernet Sauvigon-Shiraz Coonawarra-Barossa South Australia
Bid on this bottle of 2004 Penfolds Bin 60A Cabernet Sauvigon-Shiraz Coonawarra-Barossa South Australia (99RP, 96ST, 96WE, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Blended of 56% Coonawarra Cabernet from Block 20 and 44% Barossa Shiraz from Koonunga Hill Block 56G and Kalimna Blocks 4 and 14, the wine was matured in 100% new American oak hogsheads for 13 months. Very deep purple-black in color, it offers restrained notes of game, smoked meat, earth, blackberry and black currant liqueurs, yeast, marmite-toast plus whiffs of dried lavender, cedar and bark. Very crisp, very tight and very firm, this taut medium-bodied wine is still all structure at this stage, going very long and earthy in the finish. (LPB)" (12/2010)

2006 Mollydooker "Carnival of Love" Shiraz McLaren Vale South Australia
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2006 Mollydooker "Carnival of Love" Shiraz McLaren Vale South Australia (97RP, 95WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2006 Shiraz 'Carnival of Love' was sourced from a single vineyard. The sensational nose, consisting of violets, lilacs, meat, game, leather, blueberry, and chocolate, leaps from the glass. On the palate this full-bodied wine somehow manages to combine power with elegance. The sweet tannins are well-concealed and the finish lasts for at least one minute. It will provide pleasure for 25 years but who will be that patient? (JM)" (10/2007)
