Values like this don't come along very often- even at K&L! The 2008 vintage has been the most anticipated since 1996, and Champagne Louise Brison has delivered a wine that lives up to the hype. This Champagne is composed of 50% Chardonnay and 50% Pinot Noir, exclusively from estate grown, organic vineyards in the Aube department. This wine shows the electric, refreshing character of this great vintage now, and will age for decades if you choose to keep it. Don't miss out on this unbelievable value! -Gary Westby, K&L
Jancis Robinson: "100% Pinot Noir. Dosage 9 g/l. Mostly from 2006 with a bit of reserve wine from 2005. The faintest hint of pink. A fruity nose and chewy, chalky, substantial red-apple fruit on the palate. Lots here and good for the money. A champagne for food." (3/2010) K&L Notes: This is a real deal Champagne from Courteron, a village in the Aube department of Champagne, closer to Chablis than the city of Reims! Their methods are as Burgundian as their location. They are biodynamic, too, the strictest form of organic viticulture. The assemblage of several Pinot Noir vines from diff... Read More »
Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "(50% chardonnay, 40% pinot meunier and 10% pinot noir, all certified organic by Agriculture Biologique): Light gold. Fresh apple and lemon aromas and flavors are complemented by subtle floral and honey nuances. Light-bodied and clean, with good lift and finishing cut. In an understated, relatively straightforward style that's quite easy to drink." (12/2012) Wine Enthusiast: "Very fruity Champagne, well balanced with ripe pear and golden plum flavors, laced with kiwi. It has refreshing acidity, giving a bright, tight texture and a soft finish." (12/2011) K&L Notes: The Canard-Duchene... Read More »
This is certainly one of the greatest Champagnes in the store. Benoit Marguet partnered with previous Duval-Leroy chef de cave to create this wine, the first ever certified organic prestige Champagne blended from across the region. I started tasting this all 1er cru blend as vin clair in 2007, and was sworn to secrecy until now. This has the balance and effortlessness of the best grand marques, and the depth of terroir of the best grower Champagne. All of the vines used in this cuvee are from mid-slope vineyards of over 35 years, and the wine was all fer... Read More »

Barrel-fermented Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Blanc, which is a real rarity in Champagne--it only exists in a few spots in the Aube and it adds a ton of body to this very rich wine. Fleury was one of the first to farm biodynamically in Champagne.
This fantastic Champagne comes from the villages of Pierry and Moussy in the sud-Epernay sub-region of Champagne. Bruno Michel has been organic since 1999 and five of his 37.5 acres are farmed biodynamically. A saignée rosé, this elegant bubbly was made by a very short cuvaison of Pinot Meunier. Spicy and full-bodied, it is a great example of a sparkling wine that can be enjoyed with dinner, even red meat!
90 points Wine Spectator: "A superfine mousse heralds this elegant, vibrant rosé. Vanilla accents, with berry and spice flavors. Glides to a firm finish. Terrific balance and integration. Drink now." (12/2006) K&L Notes: The Fleury rosé is made entirely of Pinot Noir from Courteron, in the southern part of Champagne. Locals proudly say that their town is closer to Chablis than Reims, and the style of wine owes as much to Burgundy as the stylish bottle does to the grand marques of Champagne. The vineyards, which are all owned by Fleury, are farmed 100% biodynamically, the strictest form of orga... Read More »
