2008 Merry Edwards Russian River Valley Pinot Noir (1.5L)
Bid on this magnum of 2008 Merry Edwards Russian River Valley Pinot Noir (1.5L) (93WE). Wine Enthusiast: "A blend of seven vineyards scattered across the valley, this is a full-bodied, ripe Pinot Noir whose tannins suggest cellaring. Thoroughly dry, it shows deep notes of blackberries, black cherries, clove and pepper spice and smoky, vanilla-scented sandalwood. Feels elegant. " (08/2011)

Bid on this magnum of 2010 Ducru-Beaucaillou, St-Julien (1.5L) (100JS, 98RP, 97WS, 96WE, 95ST). James Suckling: "The nose is phenomenal with perfect aromas of Cabernet Sauvignon with currant bush, blackberries and minerals. A pure expression of Cab. The palate is perfect with a full body, but has perfectly integrated tannins with a texture like the finest cashmere. It's strong but noble with perfect form and beauty. All in harmony. A fabulous wine that everyone who loves Bordeaux should have a bottle or case of. Better in 2020. " (02/2013)

Wine Spectator: "Densely packed and rather backward, displaying charcoal and apple wood notes in front of the core of dense roasted fig, macerated plum and steeped cherry fruit. The long finish is well-studded with toasted spice and tobacco hints. Terrific underlying grip for the cellar." (03/2012)

Bid on this magnum of 2005 Marojallia, Margaux (1.5L) (95RP, (90-93ST), 93WS, (89-91WE)). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: " The opaque purple-hued 2005's excellent bouquet of licorice-infused blueberries interwoven with crushed rock, white flower, and cassis scents emanates gently but forcefully from this full-bodied Margaux. The wine is extremely pure and elegant, with sensational texture (a characteristic of so many ‘05 Margaux), a boatload of ripe tannin, and a 45-second finish. While there is tremendous power, depth, and fruit, it does not come across as too heavy or overbearing. Anticipated maturity: 2011-2027." (04/2008)

Bid on this magnum of 2008 Lucien le Moine Montrachet Grand Cru (1.5L) ((92-95BH), (93-94ST)). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A trace of wood spice accompanies backward and still very primary aromas of floral, peach and mineral notes, all of which continue onto the citrus-infused, naturally sweet and powerful flavors of imposing scale and almost painful intensity are blessed with buckets of dry extract and a driving, bone dry finish. At present, this is an understated and moderately austere Monty that will require at least a decade to fully develop." (06/2010)

Bid on this 2-magnum lot of 2005 Clos Fourtet, St-Emilion (1.5L) (98RP, 95WS, 94WE, 92ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Clos Fourtet is on a roll, having produced a stunning wine in 2003, and an even more brilliant effort in 2005. Stephane Derenoncourt, the consulting oenologist, has plenty with which to work given the fact that this is a relatively large vineyard (50 acres) planted with 85% Merlot and the rest Cabernet Franc as well as a small amount of Cabernet Sauvignon. The inky/blue/purple-colored 2005 boasts an exceptional perfume of acacia flowers, blackberry and blueberry liqueur, graphite, scorched earth, and background oak. The wine possesses a full-bodied texture and abundant quantities of stunningly pure black fruits. The result is a sumptuous St.-Emilion of great concentration, intensity, and overall balance. This prodigious effort looks set for 25-30 years of evolution. Utterly awesome." (04/2008)

Wine Enthusiast: "This is Merry Edwards’ personal vineyard, and as the vines gain age, the wines get better and better. The 2006 is young and grapey and needs time in the cellar to come around. It’s a powerhouse of a wine, stuffed with black and red cherry, currant, Dr. Pepper and Asian spice flavors. Impresses for the sheer depth of flavor and overall balance. Best after 2010, if you can keep your hands off it." (08/2009)

Bid on this magnum of 2001 Cerbaiona Brunello di Montalcino (1.5L) (OWC - 96RP, 96ST) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "What a joy it is to taste Molinari’s 2001 Brunello di Montalcino. A dark, translucent ruby, it opens with a profound, deeply expressive nose followed by notes of licorice, tar, black cherries and smoke that take on new dimensions of complexity as this great wine sits in the glass. Deceptively medium in body, it shows plenty of vibrant fruit, structure and fine, noble tannins which insure it will still be a magical wine in 15 years and likely beyond. This Brunello has been nothing short of stunning on the two occasions I’ve tasted it so far and it is undoubtedly one of the vintage’s unqualified successes. It is highly recommended. Recent bottles of the 1999 and 1990 have also been immensely enjoyable. Anticipated maturity: 2011-2023. (AG)" (12/2006)

2010 Saxum "Booker Vineyard" Paso Robles Rhône Blend (1.5L)
Bid on this magnum of 2010 Saxum "Booker Vineyard" Paso Robles Rhône Blend (1.5L) (98RP, 95AG, 94ST, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2010 Syrah Booker Vineyard - a blend of 81% Syrah and 19% Mourvedre - is about as textbook a representation of a Paso Robles Syrah as I can think of. Locked and loaded with notions of ripe black and blue fruits, smoke, bouquet garni, espresso, and licorice, it is unabashedly full-bodied, rich, and yet elegant on the palate. Showing real class, as well as first-rate freshness, superb depth and concentration, and masses of tannin, this blockbuster Syrah needs a solid 3-4 years of bottle age to flesh out, and will keep for 15-20 years or more. A benchmark estate for California, Saxum, under the helm of superstar winemaker Justin Smith, continues to produce some of the most compelling, profound wines on the planet. While Smith’s wines are always full-flavored and intense, there has been a stylistic change over recent vintages, with the wines showin

2004 Von Strasser "Estate" Diamond Mountain District Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L)
Bid on this magnum of 2004 Von Strasser "Estate" Diamond Mountain District Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L) (93W&S, 92ST, 92WS, 90RP). Wine & Spirits: "Rudy von Strasser has become one of the premier Cabernet growers in Napa Valley; his 2004s are clear proof of his talent. This wine is a barrel selection of some of the best lots from his estate, including a good dose of Petit Verdot (15 percent) and a touch of Merlot (5 percent). It's long on pure black currant fruit, succulent as a fresh forest mushroom. And there's a youthful electricity that drives it, sleek and elegant even if it is far too young to drink-if you want to get the full benefit of the ferrous tannins and the potential complexity they hold. If you like to follow a wine through all the stages of its life, open this now, an hour or two before serving a beef tenderloin stuffed with mushrooms." (02/2007)

1990 Arrowood Reserve Speciale Sonoma Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L)
Bid on this magnum of 1990 Arrowood Reserve Speciale Sonoma Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L) (90RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1990 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve Speciale (only 240 cases of magnums were produced) is an outstanding wine. It possesses a bold, aromatic profile of cassis, herbs, sweet oak, licorice and minerals, full body, excellent density, beautiful balance and purity, and a long, moderately tannic finish. Like the other Arrowood offerings, it demonstrates impeccable flavor purity and excellent balance. All the Arrowood red wines from the 1990 vintage forward display a more natural texture and have largely been bottled unfined and unfiltered where possible. This departure in philosophy for Arrowood has resulted in wines with more complex aromatic profiles and wonderfully rich, full-flavored personalities." (04/1994)

Bid on this magnum of 2011 Kistler "Trenton Roadhouse" Sonoma Coast Chardonnay (1.5L) (94AG, 91RP). Antonio Galloni: "The 2011 Chardonnay Trenton Roadhouse is one of the highlights in this range. Bright, focused and lively, the 2011 flows across the palate with high-toned floral notes, white and green pears, mint and slate. The style is aromatic, lifted and precise throughout, with a level of crystalline purity and translucence that is a marvel to behold. Density, understated power and finesse - all supported by saline minerality - come together in the Trenton Roadhouse. This is much more polished in bottle than it was from tank." (02/2014)

2003 Seavey Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L)
Bid on this magnum of 2003 Seavey Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L) (97RP, 92ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "One of the blockbuster wines of the vintage, Seavey’s 2003 Cabernet Sauvignon was made with consulting assistance from Philippe Melka. It spent 19 months in 50% new French oak prior to bottling. A big, robust, exuberant, powerful Conn Valley Cabernet Sauvignon from dry-farmed hillside vineyards and extremely low yields, it achieved a lofty 15.4% natural alcohol (which is not the least bit noticeable in the wine’s flavor profile). Truffle, new saddle leather, black currant, spice box and Grave-like scorched earth and barbecue notes are present in this full-bodied, broodingly rich, primordial Cabernet Sauvignon. It possesses plenty of tannin, but also enormous, luxurious fruit and body. This 2003 should hit its peak in 5-6 years and last at least two decades. (The 1990 and 1991 Seaveys are still young wines!) (RP)" (06/2013)

2008 Merry Edwards Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir (1.5L)
Bid on this magnum of 2008 Merry Edwards Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir (1.5L) (90CG). Connoisseurs Guide: "*One Star* Not far off the pace set by the winery's more expensive, single-estate offerings, this vibrant and well-structured effort is a Pinot with plenty of pieces and a fine sense of depth. Its brightness comes at a slight cost, and there is a bit of stiffening acidity at the finish, but there is solid, keenly defined fruit to be found at every step of the way, and there is no doubt in our minds that the wine will age famously." Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Year in and year out, one of the three greatest Hermitages made is Chapoutier’s Le Pavillon. The black/blue-colored 2000 Ermitage Le Pavillon is brilliant out of bottle. Notes of graphite, ink, licorice, creme de cassis, and minerals jump from the glass of this syrup of Hermitage. Full-bodied, unctuously-textured, gorgeously rich, spectacularly concentrated and long, it is a tour de force in winemaking. Anticipated maturity: 2007-2040. (RP)" (06/2003)

2011 Saxum "Broken Stones" Paso Robles Rhône Blend (1.5L)
Bid on this magnum of 2011 Saxum "Broken Stones" Paso Robles Rhône Blend (1.5L) (96RP, 95AG, 94ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The brilliant 2011 Syrah Broken Stones comes from a cooler block of the James Berry Vineyard and checks in as a blend of 78% Syrah, 18% Mourvedre and 4% Petit Sirah. Relatively forward (especially when compared to the locked up Bone Rock), with fabulous purity and freshness, it exudes notions of creme de cassis, blueberry, pepper, crushed flowers and sweet oak on the nose. Full-bodied, seamless and elegant, yet with building richness and rock star length, it’s an elegant version of the cuvee to drink over the coming 15 years or more. (JD)" (08/2014)

Few Pinots offer richer, more massive flavors. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2008 Nuits St. Georges Clos des Forets St.-Georges is a gorgeous wine. Here the freshness of the vintage plays off the warmth of the site nicely. The 2008 is naturally less extroverted than the 2009 tasted alongside it, but the wine nevertheless impresses for its cool, mineral-laced fruit and fabulous length. Bid on this magnum of 2012 Schrader "Colesworthy - Beckstoffer Las Piedras Vineyard" Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L) (OWC - 95RP) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A selection of the best barrels of this wine, representing only 110 cases or basically 41/2 barrels, is the 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Las Piedras Vineyard Colesworthy. This is largely Clone 337, aged 20 months in 100% new Darnajou. This is deep, rich, full, backward and not quite as easy to access as its sibling, although at some point the Schraders and Thomas Brown thought these were the best barrels from Las Piedras. It seems to share much of its siblings opaque purple color, lots of coffee, blackberry and cassis fruit, charcoal and graphite, but seems to also require more bottle age to round into shape. Forget it for 3-4 years and drink it over the following 20-25 years. (RP)" (10/2014)

Bid on this 2-magnum lot of 2005 Château de Beaucastel Châteauneuf-du-Pape (1.5L) (96WS, 94RP, 94ST). Wine Spectator: "*#8 on the Top 100 Wines of 2008* Really dense and locked up now, this is packed with dark fig, currant and blackberry fruit shrouded by layers of tar, hot stone, bittersweet licorice and espresso. The long, dense finish has a great tug of iron buried within it. " (04/2008)

2005 Merry Edwards "Tobias Glen" Russian River Valley Pinot Noir (1.5L)
Bid on this 2-magnum lot of 2005 Merry Edwards "Tobias Glen" Russian River Valley Pinot Noir (1.5L) (93WE, 92CG). Wine Enthusiast: "You’ll want to give a few months in the cellar to this Pinot. It’s dark and ripe, and shows the supple, silky tannins Pinot is known for. The flavors are enormously complex. They range from black and red cherries and cola to currants and blueberries, with notes of tangerine rind, licorice and dusty Asian spices. Best from the winter of 2008 and for another five years." Bid on this 2-magnum lot of 2004 Domaine des Lambrays Clos des Lambrays Grand Cru (1.5L) (97WE, 93WS, 91ST, 90BH). Wine Enthusiast: "To say this is textbook Pinot Noir is to do this stunning wine an injustice. But it does have everything that should be in a great Pinot Noir--the sumptuousness, the silky tannins, the touch of wood, the red fruits. All of these are enveloped in an elegant structure, leaving freshness and delicious, refreshing acidity at the end. " (03/2007)

2012 Schrader "Old Sparky" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L)
Bid on this magnum of 2012 Schrader "Old Sparky" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L) (OWC - 100RP) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Another compelling, perfect wine is the 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer to Kalon Vineyard Old Sparky. This is Clone 4 and Clone 6, as well as Clone 337, blended together from the Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard, aged in 100% new Darnajou barrels. For whatever reason, this wine seems to show more chocolate, espresso roast, barbecue smoke, dense blackberry and blueberry fruit and enormous body with not a touch of heaviness or astringency. This is a fabulous offering. It should drink well for 20-25 years. (RP)" (10/2014)

2005 Merry Edwards Russian River Valley Pinot Noir (1.5L)
Bid on this 2-magnum lot of 2005 Merry Edwards Russian River Valley Pinot Noir (1.5L) (91CG). Connoisseurs Guide: "As has happened before in the past, the winery's basic Russian River Valley appellation bottling challenges its pricier vineyard-designate siblings when it comes to ample and keenly defined fruit. Long on ripe cherries with a fine sense of concentration from front to back, it is a wine whose strength is found in focus rather than finesse, and its slightly firm structure points the way to a very bright future." 2000 La Conseillante, Pomerol (1.5L)
Bid on this magnum of 2000 La Conseillante, Pomerol (1.5L) (96RP, (90-93ST), 92JS, 90WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "La Conseillante made an excellent wine in 2001, another great one in 2005, and the estate hit home runs in both 2008 and, above all, in 2009. In fact, the latter vintage may well end up being the modern-day reference point for La Conseillante. Nevertheless, there’s a lot to be said for this 2000. An elegant, gentle style that is never a blockbuster, the 2000 La Conseillante has a deep ruby/plum/purple color and an unbelievably expressive nose of sweet kirsch liqueur intermixed with raspberries, incense, toast, and licorice. Full-bodied yet ethereal in the sense that it seems to combine power along with eloquence and delicacy, this is a beautifully pure wine that has just hit its plateau of full maturity, although ideally I think it would benefit strongly from another 4-5 years of bottle age and drink well for two to three decades." Bid on this magnum of 1998 Chateau de Beaucastel Châteauneuf-du-Pape (1.5L) (96WE, 95WS, 92RP, 90ST). Wine Enthusiast: "A big, rich wine with huge amounts of fruit oozing out of the glass. Great concentration and intensity, with licorice flavors from the Mourvèdre, finishing with chewy tannins. A great year for this wine, which should age well for 15 to 20 years. " (12/2001)

Full and very powerful. Lots of ripe tannins. Goes on for minutes. Better in 2014." (01/2011)

2006 Mouton Rothschild, Pauillac (1.5 L)
Bid on this magnum of 2006 Mouton Rothschild, Pauillac (1.5 L) (98RP, 97WE, 96ST, 95JS, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A sensational effort, the 2006 Mouton Rothschild exhibits an opaque purple color as well as a classic Mouton perfume of creme de cassis, flowers, blueberries, and only a hint of oak. Dalhuin told me that in whisky barrel-tasting vintages such as 1989 and 1990, Mouton was aged in heavily-toasted barrels, and they have backed off to a much lighter toast for the barrels’ interior. I think this has worked fabulously well with the cassis quality fruit they get from their Cabernet Sauvignon. The full-bodied, powerful 2006 possesses extraordinary purity and clarity. A large-scaled, massive Mouton Rothschild that ranks as one of the top four or five wines of the vintage, it may turn out to be the longest-lived wine of the vintage by a landslide.
