2012 Schrader "Beckstoffer To Kalon, CCS" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 2012 Schrader "Beckstoffer To Kalon, CCS" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (100RP, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer to Kalon Vineyard CCS is Clone 4 from another block, and always seems to hit all the sweet spots on my palate. It’s aged 20 months in 100% new Darnajou barrels. The good news is there are 520 cases of it. Just a prodigious wine, this spectacular Cabernet Sauvignon is inky bluish/purple with a gorgeous nose of spring flowers, blueberry, blackberry and cassis fruit, a touch of background toast and graphite. It has a very full-bodied, multidimensional mouthfeel and a skyscraper-like finish. It is fabulously open, sexy and a total thrill to smell and taste. This should continue to drink well for two decades. (RP)" (10/2014)

Bid on this magnum of 2006 Ridge "Monte Bello" Santa Cruz Mountains Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L) (94RP, 93JS, 93ST, 92W&S). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "...the 2006 Monte Bello is a very strong effort. Its dense purple color is followed by copious aromas of creme de cassis, licorice, spice box, and a touch of oak. Well-balanced, dense, pure, layered, and rich, its big, rich style is similar to the 2003. This cuvee should keep for 25-30 years in a cool cellar." (02/2010)

2007 Peter Michael "Les Pavots" Knights Valley Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this bottle of 2007 Peter Michael "Les Pavots" Knights Valley Bordeaux Blend (97RP, 95WS, 93JS, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2007 Les Pavots, a Bordeaux varietal blend of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 17% Cabernet Franc, 10% Merlot, and 3% Petit Verdot, is brilliant. Its opaque purple color is accompanied by gorgeously complex aromas of melted chocolate, espresso roast, blackberries, and cassis. Full-bodied with a superb texture, a subtle note of oak, and fabulous concentration, it is more reminiscent of a Right Bank Bordeaux than one expects with this much Cabernet Sauvignon in the blend. A thirty-year wine, its impeccable balance and the sweetness of its tannins make it accessible already. (RP)" (02/2010)

2004 Lascombes, Margaux
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2004 Lascombes, Margaux (93RP, 91ST, 90W&S). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Another brilliant effort from this estate, the 2004 Lascombes (a blend of 50% Merlot, 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 5% Petit Verdot) exhibits a deep blue/purple hue along with a sweet perfume of blueberries, black raspberries, cherries, incense, smoke, and spring flowers. While opulent, underneath the full-bodied richness of fruit and depth is a structured wine. As it sits in the glass, an espresso roast character (no doubt from new oak) also emerges. Enjoy this pure, structured, fleshy beauty between 2010-2025. (RP)" (06/2007)

2008 Merry Edwards "Klopp Ranch" Russian River Valley Pinot Noir (1.5L)
Bid on this magnum of 2008 Merry Edwards "Klopp Ranch" Russian River Valley Pinot Noir (1.5L) (96WE, 92CG). Wine Enthusiast: " ** Top 100 Wines of 2011 ** An awesome wine. So delicious and complex now in wild cherry, raspberry, Dr. Pepper cola, bacon and smoky sandalwood flavors, brightened with crisp acidity and totally dry despite the fruitiness. But you’ll also find a firm tannic structure that gives it some astringency. It’s the kind of Pinot Noir that California does at its best, drinkable now for sheer beauty, but easily capable of a decade of aging." (08/2011)

1994 Joseph Phelps "Insignia" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this bottle of 1994 Joseph Phelps "Insignia" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (98RP, 96WS, 95ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: " The 1994 boasts an inky/purple color along with a glorious nose of black raspberries, blackberries and black currants that is still somewhat primary despite nearly 18 years in bottle. The Phelps team kept this cuvee in 100% new French oak for 28 months. Its magnificent structure, intensity and purity of fruit, ripeness, balance combined with authoritative power and the magnetic appeal of this full-bodied, Bordeaux-styled wine are extraordinary. This amazing effort is just coming into its best years, and should drink well for at least another 15-20 years. (RP)" (11/2013)

2009 Heitz Cellar Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2009 Heitz Cellar Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. At the risk of being accused of hyperbole, this 2009 vintage is without question the best Heitz Napa bottling I have ever tasted. In assessing a wine we are taught to break a wine down and examine it critically—its structure, its texture, its flavors and aromas. With this wine, though, that seems a kind of sacrilege, an act of vinous vandalism that does no justice to its perfect balance, its seamlessness. This is a wine that is truly greater than the sum of its parts, and can only be appreciated comprehensively. For what it’s worth, however, I did admire its bright acidity and fine tannins, its rich texture, and its generous fruit. But ignore all that. Just take a sip, close your eyes, and enjoy. 2013 Aubert "Lauren Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Chardonnay
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2013 Aubert "Lauren Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Chardonnay ((98-100RP), 97AG). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Named after Mark Aubert’s daughter, the 2013 Chardonnay Lauren Estate (1,000 cases produced) is made from Old Wente clones as well as the Mt. Eden clone planted in Goldridge soils. This stony, mineral-laced, crisp yet full-bodied effort comes across as a California version of a Coche-Dury Corton-Charlemagne. Citrus oil, tangerine skin, orange blossom, liquified rock, white flower and quince notes along with great fruit, a full-bodied, stunning texture, and a long finish with no noticeable oak suggest this prodigious Chardonnay will drink well for 10+ years. At the end of our tasting, Mark Aubert conducted a mini-vertical of the Lauren Estate Chardonnay starting with the 2009 and going back to 2003. At 11 years old, I rated the 2003 96 points, and it remains a lively, exuberant, fresh, stunning wine. All of them were fabulous, with my favorite being the 2

2011 Saxum "James Berry Vineyard" Paso Robles Rhône Blend
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2011 Saxum "James Berry Vineyard" Paso Robles Rhône Blend (96AG, 96RP, 94ST, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Reminding me of a top 2010 Chateauneuf du Pape (the 2010 Raymond Usseglio Cuvee Imperiale to be exact), the 2011 James Berry Vineyard is a blend of 69% Grenache, 13% Mourvedre, 13% Syrah, 2% Counoise, and a splash of Roussanne, that was aged in a combination of concrete (Grenache) and larger oak puncheons. A fresh, detailed and more elegant example of the cuvee, it offers gorgeous notes of ripe berry fruit, loads of exotic spice, violets, pepper and lavender to go with a full-bodied, beautifully pure and layered profile on the palate. It’s no blockbuster, but has loads of energy and tension, as well as class and refinement. Give it 2-3 years in the cellar and enjoy it over the following decade or longer. (JD)" (08/2014)

2012 Sine Qua Non In the Abstract Proprietary White
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2012 Sine Qua Non In the Abstract Proprietary White (97RP, 94AG). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "In the same league, the 2012 In The Abstract is a classic Sine Qua Non white blend of 37% Chardonnay, 31% Roussanne, 16% Petite Manseng and 16% Viognier. Coming from roughly equal parts Bien Nacido, Cumulus and Eleven Confessions vineyard, it spent just under 19 months in 48% used barrels (1-4 years old), 27% new French oak and the balance in concrete eggs. It sports a slightly darker color than the Chardonnay and offers up incredible notes of caramelized peaches, poached apples, white flowers and crushed rock that flow seamlessly to a full-bodied, decadent, yet classy and graceful feel on the palate. It’s a classic effort that doesn’t pull any punches, yet also never seems hot, heavy or puts a foot wrong. Enjoy this beauty over the coming decade or more. (JD)" (08/2014)

Bid on this 2-magnum lot of 2007 Sea Smoke "Southing" Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir (1.5L) (95WE, 90ST). Wine Enthusiast: "A fabulously rich and approachable Pinot Noir that offers everything now, yet will also age. The considerable tannins will protect it in the cellar for a good 6-8 years, but it's so fresh and vibrant in cherries, red currants and oak-inspired red licorice that it's hard not to drink it now. The wine's sweetness is currently hiding its underlying acidity and minerality. " (03/2010)

Juicy and youthfully imploded, with dark berry flavors perked up by violet and mineral elements. Not showing the fleshy side of 2010 but intense and sharply delineated. Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2011 Domaine Taupenot-Merme Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru (,92-94JG, 90BH). John Gilman: "As the domaine's parcels in Charmes and Mazoyères are quite different in age (thirty years for the Charmes and fifty years of age for the Mazoyères), so the domaine has bottled the two wines separately. The 2011 Charmes was showing quite well after its recent botltings, jumping from the glass in a mélange of black cherries, plums, grilled meats, herb tones, a lovely base of soil, French roast and spicy wood. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, pure and focused, with firm tannins, tangy acids and a long, primary and classy finish. This will be superb. (Drink between 2022-2060)" (6/2013)

1999 Giuseppe Mascarello "Monprivato" Barolo
Bid on this bottle of 1999 Giuseppe Mascarello "Monprivato" Barolo (97AG, 95RP, 93ST). Antonio Galloni: "The 1999 Barolo Monprivato is once again stellar. In this tasting, it is the wine's flamboyant fruit and super-expressive aromatics that jump from the glass. Sweet red cherries, pomegranate, hard candy, rose petals and mint meld together as this generous, resonant Barolo shows off its pure and total sense of majesty. Spices and a hint of blood orange develop in a kaleidoscope of aromas and flavors. In 1999, Monprivato is just about as good as it gets. Mauro Mascarello did not bottle his Riserva Ca' d'Morissio in 1999; instead all the best fruit was blended into the Monprivato. Today, the 1999 is utterly thrilling. It's as simple as that." Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2008 Domaine William Fèvre Chablis 1er Cru "Vaulorent-Fourchaume" (95RP, 94BH, 93ST, 92WE, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Fevre’s 2008 Chablis Vaulorent – which, following my argumentative recommendation mentioned in issue 186, has been labeled without the name “Fourchaume” – lives up to the estate’s long-standing characterization of this site as their “eighth grand cru.” Blueberry and raspberry distillate as well as fresh lime, grapefruit and crushed stone both intrigue and invigorate on the nose, impressions reinforced on a palate that combines real richness of texture as well as succulence of fruit with bright acidity, citrus rind pungency, berry skin tartness, and a depth of marine mineral nuances. Vibrantly interactive and faintly sizzling in finish, this practically takes your breath away, and should continue dazzling for a decade or more. And given that this isn’t priced as a grand cru, it represents a remarkable Chablis buying opportunity. Pe

Extremely full-bodied, with amazing purity, mouth-coating richness, sweet tannin, and low acidity, it offers profound drinking even though it has not yet begun to develop secondary nuances. Anticipated maturity: 2003-2025. While only microscopic quantities were produced of this wine, It is an immense wine of extraordinary concentration and depth. Strawberry, mocha and musky brown spices on the rather low-pitched nose. Then dense and sweet in the mouth, with good richness and texture to the raspberry, brown spice and underbrush flavors. More aromatic in the mouth than the nose would suggest, but this tactile, chewy wine is classically dry and backward today. Finishes with plenty of tannins and excellent persistence. 1966 Pichon-Baron, Pauillac
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1966 Pichon-Baron, Pauillac. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This exceeded my expectations given that this was supposed to be after the estate lost their way under Bertrand Bouteiller. A dark mahogany core. The nose is quite attractive, soft red-berried fruit, redcurrant, hot bricks on a summer day with a touch of mint. It is marred by a slight tinge of dishwater. Medium-bodied, good cohesion with a solid structure and good depth. Rustic, edgy but with good ripeness for a ’66, less austere and fleshier than other ’66 Pauillacs. On the finish: decayed cherry fruit, mouldy oranges in an antique glass vase. A pleasant surprise. Drink now. Tasted May 2009. (Neal Martin, Wine Journal)" (09/2009)

2006 Noon Reserve Shiraz Langhorne Creek South Australia
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2006 Noon Reserve Shiraz Langhorne Creek South Australia (99RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2006 Reserve Shiraz was sourced from a 45-year-old vineyard and aged for 18 months in small and large French and American oak. Opaque purple/black in color, it gives up a lavish perfume of smoke, mineral, game, bacon, and blueberry that leaps from the glass. Thick, opulent, and intense, it coats the mouth with savory fruit, spices, and a hint of chocolate. Seamless on the palate, it nevertheless conceals enough structure to evolve for a decade for those able to resist its immediate come-on. It should be at its best from 2012 to 2030. " (02/2009)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2004 Domaine Leflaive Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru "Clavoillon" ((88-91ST), 90BH). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Pale, green-tinged yellow. Reduced, meaty aromas of lime, flowers, vanilla, spices, flint and truffle. Round and broad but with good firm acid spine. This, too, is a bit diffuse today and in need of more verve. Finishes with very good breadth and length. The wine's acids have not yet harmonized with the fruit. " (09/2006)

2001 Paolo Scavino "Cannubi" Barolo
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2001 Paolo Scavino "Cannubi" Barolo (94RP, 93ST, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2001 Barolo Cannubi, a dark ruby, is a classic in the making. It offers a multi-dimensional, delicate nose of flowers, menthol and minerals with plenty of ripe dark cherry fruit, great length and a nuanced, ethereal finish. It will require at least a few years of bottle age and will still be vibrant and full of flavor at age 20. Compared to Scavino’s more imposing Barolos Carobric and Bric del Fiasc, the Cannubi can sometimes be overpowered, but given some cellaring it typically begins to strut its stuff around age 10 and develops into a magical Barolo that can challenge many of the region’s top wines. I still have fond memories of the sublime 1989 and 1990 tasted last year. A great effort. Anticipated maturity: 2009-2019. (AG)" (10/2006)

Dark fruit on the palate keeps that cool profile going. The flavorful finish rolls on and on, not missing a beat, with beautiful black fruit and espresso notes. An appealing black beauty, best after three years and out through 2010." (11/00) 91 points Wine Spectator: "Complex, with earthy currant, anise, mineral and sage flavors. 2001 Behrens & Hitchcock "Kenefick Ranch Reserve" Napa Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 2001 Behrens & Hitchcock "Kenefick Ranch Reserve" Napa Cabernet Sauvignon (93RP, 90ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The classic 2001 Kenefick Ranch is a blend of 82% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Cabernet Franc, 6% Merlot, and 6% Petit Verdot. This 419-case offering will undoubtedly disappear as quickly as it is released. However, patience will be required as it needs 4-5 years of cellaring. High in tannin and dense, with oodles of sweet black currant fruit intermixed with tobacco leaf, licorice, and spice box, it is an outrageous Bordeaux on steroids that should drink well between 2008-2020. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The inky/purple-colored 2002 Syrah Seymour's Vineyard offers up a huge bouquet of scorched earth, creme de cassis, melted tar, camphor, and the entire black fruit spectrum. Superb, full-bodied flavors are expansive, rich, profoundly concentrated, and velvety textured. Two to three years of patience is warranted for this glorious Syrah. It should easily last 12-15 years. 1998 Fox Creek "Reserve" Shiraz McLaren Vale South Australia
Bid on this bottle of 1998 Fox Creek "Reserve" Shiraz McLaren Vale South Australia (96RP, 95ST, 90JH). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1998 Shiraz Reserve has the most potential of this trio. It combines some of the mature elements of the 1997 with the massive richness of the 1996, but without the 1996's slightly rustic framework. A dense purple color is followed by a sensational bouquet of creme de cassis, charcoal, and incense. Full-bodied, opulent, and voluptuously-textured, this is a big, but incredibly well-balanced wine. Its fruit bomb-like personality of a decade ago has morphed into something far more civilized, delineated, and refined. This gorgeous offering is a superb example of McLaren Vale Shiraz. Enjoy it over the next 10-15+ years. (RP)" (06/2009)

2004 Conti Costanti Brunello di Montalcino (1.5 L)
Bid on this magnum of 2004 Conti Costanti Brunello di Montalcino (1.5 L) (93ST, 92WS, 90RP). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Bright medium red. Knockout nose suggests a wine of strong extract and extends one's Brunello vocabulary: cherry, peach pit, licorice, lead pencil, honey, jasmine, botanical herbs, you name it. Dry, classic and sharply delineated, conveying a strong impression of energy allied with great delicacy. This manages to be very ripe, broad and silky and at the same time virtually weightless. Finishes sweet, pliant, minerally and very long. With aeration, though, this shut down dramatically in my glass and showed a leathery element. One for the cellar." (07/2009)

2004 Agharta North Coast Syrah
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2004 Agharta North Coast Syrah (98RP, 92ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Proprietors Pam and Pax Mahle have fashioned a 2004 Syrah called Agharta. Aged 58 months (that’s not a typo) in French oak casks (the 2005, 2006, and 2007 vintages will spend 45-48 months in cask), the extraordinary 2004 is a 475-case blend of 92% Syrah, 5% Grenache, and the rest Viognier, Marsanne, and Roussane. Most of the Syrah comes from the Alder Springs Vineyard in Mendocino. This profound wine’s inky/purple color is followed by aromas of smoky barbecue meats, grilled Provencal herbs, and exotic tropical fruits intermixed with blackberry, cassis, blueberry, and graphite. This super-rich effort tastes like the nectar of Syrah, yet it is dry, elegant, and remarkably fresh and precise. In the mouth, the impression is like that of a multilayered cake -- everything is there. This is an amazing, very multi-dimensional wine that must be tasted to be believed. It can be drunk now or c

2007 Sine Qua Non "Body & Soul" Roussanne-Viognier
Bid on this bottle of 2007 Sine Qua Non "Body & Soul" Roussanne-Viognier (96RP, 94ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The new cuvee of white wine, the 2007 Body and Soul, a 475-case blend of 71% Roussanne and 29% Viognier, is primarily from the 11 Confessions Vineyard. Krankl has dropped Chardonnay from the blend, and the resulting wine is a beacon for what can be achieved by blending two white Rhone varietals. About one-third new French oak is used. Honeysuckle, orange blossom, lemon oil, tropical fruit, and floral notes are found in this unctuously-textured white. Full-bodied and dry, with good underlying minerality, crispness, and an alluring freshness, it is impossible to know how such a wine will age. I just finished my last bottle of the 2001 Albino, which is aging fabulously well, and seems capable of lasting another 4-5 years. These wines are so spectacularly perfumed and intense in their youth that they are hard to resist. (RP)" (08/2009)

Of the 2010 Carlisle "Pagani Ranch" Sonoma Valley Zinfandel,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "The 2010 Zinfandel Pagani Ranch is one of the most nuanced and layered of the 2010 Zinfandels here. Dark red cherries, flowers, licorice and spices are woven together beautifully in this layered, silky Zinfandel. The wine's balance is enhanced by the elegant, well-integrated tannins and textured finish. This is a terrific showing. Pagani Ranch was planted in the 1890s. Bid on this bottle of 1999 Pierre Gaillard "Les Viallieres" Côte-Rôtie (94RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "As I reported last year when the wines were still in barrel, the 1999 Cote Roties are awesome. The 1999 Cote Rotie Les Viallieres Reserve (20% Viognier included) offers up a potent perfume of violets, spring flowers, sausage, black fruits, and vanilla. Concentrated, serious, and complex is the 2003 Proprietary Red, a combination of 56% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest Sangiovese, Petite Sirah, and Syrah. In contrast to the leaner, more austere and streamlined 2002, the 2003 is an exuberant, flamboyant, dense ruby/purple-colored effort offering a rich, sumptuous nose of black raspberries, spice box, cedar, subtle Provencal herbs, and earth. Full-bodied, expansive, and beautifully textured, this is a savory, sumptuous wine to drink over the next 5-8 years."
