2004 Villa Poggio Salvi Brunello di Montalcino Riserva (Pre-Arrival) Back In Stock!
2004 Villa Poggio Salvi Brunello di Montalcino Riserva (Pre-Arrival)

91 points Wine Enthusiast: "Poggio Salvi’s Brunello Riserva offers genuine and linear fruit tones with bright berry and cherry layers lavished over spice and leather. The wine is tonic and tight in the mouth with lingering notes of spice and smoke on the close. — M.L." (8/2010)90 points Antonio Galloni: "The 2004 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva is surprisingly hard and unyielding. Mentholated, balsamic notes add complexity to the dark fruit, followed by earthiness, leather; licorice and tobacco that emerge over time. There is nice depth and plushness to the fruit, but readers will need to be patient. -- ...Read More »

2004 Il Poggione Brunello di Montalcino

95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2004 Brunello di Montalcino is awesome. This finessed, regal Brunello flows onto the palate with seamless layers of perfumed fruit framed by silky, finessed tannins. The wine remains extremely primary at this stage, and its full range of aromas and flavors have yet to emerge, but the sheer pedigree of this Brunello is unmistakable. The elegant, refined finish lasts an eternity, and subtle notes of menthol, spices, licorice and leather add final notes of complexity. The estate's 2004 Brunello is a wine to buy and bury in the deepest corner of the cell ...Read More »

2004 Fuligni Brunello di Montalcino

95 points Wine Spectator: "Has a wonderful nose of roses, strawberries and sandalwood. Full-bodied, with fine tannins and an aftertaste of berry, cedar and light coffee bean. Caresses every inch of your palate. Very fine, yet chewy. Needs time still. Best after 2010." (1/2010)94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2004 Brunello di Montalcino is simply awesome in the way it marries a gorgeous expression of ripe, dark fruit and a classic sense of structure. A rich, enveloping wine, it flows onto the palate with masses of black cherries, minerals, spices, tar, new leather and smoke. This is an exceptionally well-balanc ...Read More »

2004 Fuligni Brunello di Montalcino Riserva

96 points Wine Spectator: "Aromas of blueberry and blackberry, with hints of lilac. Full and velvety, with powerful chewy tannins, but so well-defined and polished. Very long and intense, with bright acidity. Needs time to come together. Best after 2012." (06/10) 96 points Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2004 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva reveals gorgeous clarity, precision and richness in a generous, enveloping style. The fruit remains incredibly pure and almost primary at this stage, suggesting the wine has many years of fine drinking ahead of it. Decep... Read More »

2004 Livio Sassetti "Pertimali" Brunello di Montalcino

93 points James Suckling: "A wine that shows some age now with leaf, mushroom and berry character. Full and silky with soft tannins. Long and beautiful with lovely fruit and a juicy finish. Just right now." (5/2013)93 points Wine Spectator: "Candied plum notes, with hints of flowers and mushroom, follow through to a full-bodied palate, with very soft, juicy tannins and lightly grilled meat, berry and fresh shiitake mushroom flavors. A decadent style. (Web Only-2009)"92 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Good deep medium red. Highly complex, slightly musky aromas of red berries, spices, minerals, incense, iron and graphite; quite Burgundian. Silky ...Read More »

2004 Siro Pacenti Brunello di Montalcino

97 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2004 Brunello di Montalcino is a huge, dense wine that explodes from the glass with tar, smoke, earthiness black cherries and minerals. The wine possesses dazzling concentration and tons of richness, as waves of fruit coat the palate in stunning style. This big, dramatic Brunello needs time in bottle, but it is nothing short of magnificent today. The balance, and the integration of the French oak in particular, is brilliant. For those who are curious to try a bottle now, the wine should be opened a few hours in advance as the tannins are imposing at ...Read More »

2004 Conti Costanti Brunello di Montalcino (1.5 L)
Bid on this magnum of 2004 Conti Costanti Brunello di Montalcino (1.5 L) (93ST, 92WS, 90RP). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Bright medium red. Knockout nose suggests a wine of strong extract and extends one's Brunello vocabulary: cherry, peach pit, licorice, lead pencil, honey, jasmine, botanical herbs, you name it. Dry, classic and sharply delineated, conveying a strong impression of energy allied with great delicacy. This manages to be very ripe, broad and silky and at the same time virtually weightless. Finishes sweet, pliant, minerally and very long. With aeration, though, this shut down dramatically in my glass and showed a leathery element. One for the cellar." (07/2009)

2004 Ciacci Piccolomini d'Aragona "Vigna di Pianrosso" Brunello di Montalcino (1.5l)

94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The estate’s 2004 Brunello di Montalcino Pianrosso possesses striking depth as endless layers of sweet, perfumed fruit emerge with tons of grace. This, too, is an intense, full-bodied wine. The balance here is utterly exceptional, and the wine’s sheer plumpness makes for a highly rewarding glass of Brunello. Succulent dark cherries, spices, underbrush, minerals and new leather come to life as the wine sits in the glass, yet this remains a backward, structured Brunello in need of serious bottle age. The Pianrosso is a terrific effort from proprietor Paolo ...Read More »

2004 Talenti "Pian di Conte" Brunello di Montalcino Riserva

94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2004 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva Vigna Pian di Conte is a rich, sumptuous wine graced with layers of rich fruit and an expansive, seductive personality. There is tremendous elegance and class in this nuanced Brunello that is at times powerful, while at others more delicate. The fruit remains open, which gives an impression of early accessibility, but there appears to be plenty of structure underneath. A lovely sense of inner perfume caresses the palate all the way through to the long, polished finish. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2024. (AG)" (4/2010) ...Read More »

2004 Fontodi "Flaccianello della Pieve" Toscana (375ml)

96 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2004 Flaccianello della Pieve is super elegant, polished and impeccably refined, just as it always has been. At the same time, it is one of the bigger 2004s from Tuscany readers will come across. Dark red berries, flowers, spices and menthol are layered into the finish. Today the aromatics aren’t fully developed, but that should not be an issue in another few years. There is plenty of underlying structure to support many years of fine drinking. The quality of the tannins is particularly fine, especially next to the other great Flaccianellos. Anticipa ...Read More »
