Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2009 A. Palacios "Finca Dofi" Priorat (OWC - (94-97RP), 93ST) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Finca Dofi is an exotic, slinky beauty with tremendous structure, proportion, and length. It will benefit greatly from 8-10 years of cellaring. Alvaro Palacios established his namesake winery in 1989. The flagship L’Ermita made its debut in 1993. Finca Dofi and L’Ermita vineyards are farmed biodynamically. 2009 Domaine Henri Boillot Beaune 1er Cru "Clos du Roi"
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2009 Domaine Henri Boillot Beaune 1er Cru "Clos du Roi" ((91-93ST), 90BH). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Saturated medium ruby. Deep aromas of kirsch, smoke, minerals, flowers and earth are reticent but pure. Big, rich and broad, with harmonious acidity framing the black cherry, chocolate and leather flavors. This classic, complete Beaune wine spreads out to saturate the palate, with lush tannins reaching the front teeth. Quite thick in the style of the vintage but without any excess weight." (01/2011)

This is terrific and one of the best vintages that I have ever seen for this wine." (01/2011)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Gevrey-Chambertin floats on the palate in its finessed, well-articulated fruit. Subtle and ethereal through to the finish, the wine captures the essence and nobility of Gevrey. With time in the glass the fruit turns darker and the wine puts on weight, showing tons of pedigree and dazzling overall harmony. Anticipated maturity: 2017-2029. (AG)" (05/2011)

2009 Mouton Rothschild, Pauillac
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2009 Mouton Rothschild, Pauillac (99RP, 98JS, 98WS, 97ST, 96WE). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Mouton Rothschild has a striking label from Anish Kapoor. The wine is a blend of 88% Cabernet Sauvignon and 12% Merlot that begs comparison as a young wine with what the 1982 tasted like in 1985 or, I suspect, what the 1959 may have tasted like in 1962. Representing 50% of their production, the wine has an inky purple color to the rim and not terribly high alcohol for a 2009 (13.2%), but that is reflected by the high percentage of Cabernet Sauvignon. It has a remarkable nose of lead pencil shavings, violets, creme de cassis and subtle barrique smells. It is stunningly opulent, fat, and super-concentrated, but the luxurious fruit tends to conceal some rather formidable tannins in the finish." (02/2012)

2009 DRC Domaine de la Romanée-Conti La Tâche Grand Cru
Bid on this bottle of 2009 DRC Domaine de la Romanée-Conti La Tâche Grand Cru (98BH, 97RP, 97WS, 96ST). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A discreet but incredibly complex nose features notes of spicy, pure and relatively high-toned fruit that is laced with plenty of rose petal and violet hints. There is excellent energy and freshness to the lacy and stunningly precise broad-scaled flavors that build in intensity from the densely concentrated mid-palate to the explosive and mouth coating finish that seemingly goes on without end. This is a big LT with ample muscle and very firm but not aggressive structure along with superb depth of underlying material and positively mind-blowing length. But the real genius of this wine is the Zen-like harmony and poise though note that it is very tightly wound and will need many years of cellaring before it will be completely ready. In a word, magnificent." (01/2012)

2009 Cayuse "Bionic Frog" Walla Walla Valley Syrah (OCB)
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2009 Cayuse "Bionic Frog" Walla Walla Valley Syrah (OWC - 96RP, 95WE, 94ST, 94WS) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Cayuse’s 2009 Syrah Bionic Frog originates in the Coccinelle Vineyard, planted in 1998, which features iron-rich clay with significant fine earth run-off from the nearby Blue Mountains, and, paradoxically, dries out quickest. In more ways than one, it’s the opposite of En Chamberlin. 'This is, 90% of the time, the Syrah that we pick first,' notes Baron, 'which was September 24 in 2009.' Vinification was in concrete (though future vintages will ferment in recently-arrived wooden uprights), and the mix of barrels - all Dominique Laurent’s self-styled 'magic barriques' (which until 2011 was the favored medium for this bottling) - was around 20-30% new. Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2009 Bruno Giacosa "Falletto" Barolo (OWC - 94RP, 93JS, 92WS, 91AG, 91ST) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Barolo Falletto is an exuberant and exciting wine with tight, firming tannins surrounded by deep layers of dried cherry, licorice, cassis, moist tobacco and campfire ash. What sets this Barolo apart is the focus and care it shows on the bouquet. It is as if each layer is a separately audible voice in a united chorus of flavors and aromas. Also notable is the balanced acidity that adds a bite of freshness without being too sharp. Anticipated maturity: 2015-2035. (ML)" (06/2013)

Allen Meadows - Burghound: " *Sweet spot Outstanding* Here the nose is slightly more elegant with a pretty array of saline, citrus, floral and spiced pear aromas that are in keeping with the lightly mineral-inflected, textured and ultra-pure middle weight flavors that culminate in a linear and driving finish. This is extremely dry, indeed it is unusually dry for the vintage and while it will undoubtedly put on weight and flesh as it ages, it could at present pass for a fine Chablis. 2009 Sojourn "Gap's Crown" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2009 Sojourn "Gap's Crown" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir (93RP, 92WS, 90WE). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "An up-and-coming hillside vineyard seen more and more in Sonoma is the Gap’s Crown Vineyard on the Sonoma Coast. The 2009 Pinot Noir Gap’s Crown Vineyard, made from some whole clusters, is one of the deeper, more saturated ruby-colored Pinot Noirs from Sojourn. Very Burgundian, with deep raspberry, forest floor, and black cherry fruit as well as hints of earth and mineral, there is a sense of spring flowers as well in this complex, deep, rich, full-bodied Pinot Noir, which is stunning. It has loads of black and red fruits, and to me is the most complex of the Pinot Noirs in the Sojourn Cellars portfolio. It is also a blend of the more modern clones, 113, 114 and 828. Already drinking well, with lots of complexity, it should continue to do so for 7-8 more years." (02/2011)

2009 Heitz Cellar Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2009 Heitz Cellar Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. At the risk of being accused of hyperbole, this 2009 vintage is without question the best Heitz Napa bottling I have ever tasted. In assessing a wine we are taught to break a wine down and examine it critically—its structure, its texture, its flavors and aromas. With this wine, though, that seems a kind of sacrilege, an act of vinous vandalism that does no justice to its perfect balance, its seamlessness. This is a wine that is truly greater than the sum of its parts, and can only be appreciated comprehensively. For what it’s worth, however, I did admire its bright acidity and fine tannins, its rich texture, and its generous fruit. But ignore all that. Just take a sip, close your eyes, and enjoy. Bid on this magnum of 2009 Checkerboard Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L) (OWC - (90-93RP), 93ST) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon is the lightest of these three vintages, but it will undoubtedly put on weight as its siblings did. At present, it reveals beautifully pure fruit, velvety tannins and sweet black currant, charcoal, graphite, blueberry and earth characteristics. These are all fragrant, rich, concentrated stylish reds made from primarily Cabernet Sauvignon blended with Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Petit Verdot. (RP)" (12/2010)

Bid on this bottle of 2009 Saxum "James Berry Vineyard" Paso Robles Rhône Blend (98RP, 97JS, 97WS, 96ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Simply put, the 2009 James Berry Vineyard is one of the greatest young wines I have ever tasted from California, or anywhere for that matter. Bright, floral aromatics lead to expressive red fruit in this impossibly elegant, dazzling wine. A melange of rose petals, mint and licorice follows as the James Berry shows off its breathtaking clarity and finesse. Fine-grained, chalky tannins frame the exceptional finish. Frankly, I am surprised this is the first wine of the tasting. Where does one go from here? (AG) " (08/2011)

Bid on this magnum of 2009 Rhys "Alpine Vineyard" Santa Cruz Mountains Pinot Noir (1.5L) (95RP, 93BH, 92ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Pinot Noir Alpine Vineyard tends towards a dark red, almost black expression of wild cherries. It is an intensely coiled, powerful wine in need of a few years of cellaring. The mineral notes speak very clearly in this pointed, beautifully articulated Pinot. With time in the glass the wine’s inner perfume begins to emerge, but the best is years away. The chiseled, pure finish leaves a lasting impression. Of the 2009 Silverado "Limited Reserve" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon,Wine Enthusiast writes: "This is a barrel selection, presumably limited in cases. It’s an extraordinarily rich, concentrated 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, made in the modern cult-style of massively extracted blackberries, black currants, cassis liqueur and chocolate, with oak bringing the usual sweet toast and vanilla complexities. Black cherries, flowers, new leather, spices, tobacco and savory herbs are some of the many notes that flow from this deep, dark wine. 2009 Philippe Pacalet Ruchottes-Chambertin Grand Cru
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2009 Philippe Pacalet Ruchottes-Chambertin Grand Cru (94RP, (91-93ST)). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "The 2009 Ruchottes-Chambertin bursts from the glass with dark red fruit, violets, mint and crushed rocks. There is a sense of wildness and pure unrestrained energy that is beautiful to behold. The 2009 needs time to finds its center, but when it does everything works beautifully. Here, too, the 2009 is very closed in on itself. Layers of fruit build effortlessly to the intense, saline finish. This is another hugely promising wine from Philippe Pacalet. Anticipated maturity: 2019-2034. (AG)" (04/2012)

2009 Marcassin "Marcassin Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir
Bid on this bottle of 2009 Marcassin "Marcassin Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir (97RP, 97WS). Wine Spectator: "Amazingly seductive, from the initial aromas of smoky, toasty, creamy vanilla-scented oak to the richer mix of wild berry and raspberry fruit. Lifts midpalate and soars from there, finishing with a pleasing tannic grip and a long, persistent finish. Drink now through 2025." (02/2014)

2009 Domaine William Fèvre Chablis Grand Cru "Vaudésir" (OWC)
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2009 Domaine William Fèvre Chablis Grand Cru "Vaudésir" (OWC - 94BH, 93RP, 91ST) in original wood. Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A mildly exotic and atypically reticent nose that is ripe yet airy showcases aromas of orange peel, peach and hints of roasted nut and iodine, before leading to rich, even opulent medium plus weight flavors that are delicious, round and strikingly persistent on the mouth coating and moderately austere finish. This has really come together since I last saw it and like the Bougros, this is quite a bit more refined than I'm used to seeing. An excellent example." (10/2011)

2009 Fattoria Galardi Terra di Lavoro
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2009 Fattoria Galardi Terra di Lavoro (93RP, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "I suppose after so many important vintages it is only natural that Mother Nature takes a break. Terra di Lavoro is usually a huge wine in its youth, but not so in 2009. This is one of the most open, approachable young Terra di Lavoros I have ever tasted. The wine shows good intensity in its dark fruit, with layers of ash, smoke, crushed flowers and minerals that develop in the glass. The 2009 is a pretty, accessible Terra di Lavoro that will make a great introduction for readers who are new to the wine and don't want to wait for some of the more important vintages to come around. Terra di Lavoro is 80% Aglianico and 20% Piedirosso. The 2009 spent 14 months in French oak barrels, 70% new...Anticipated maturity: 2017-2029. (AG)" (06/2011)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2009 Domaine Michel Lafarge Beaune 1er Cru "Grèves" (93BH, (89-92ST), (89-91RP)). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "This is aromatically more complex than the Aigrots with more iron and earth nuances to the panoply of red berry fruit aromas that carry liqueur-like scents. The rich, delicious and charming flavors display good power and focus on the balanced, concentrated and palate staining finish. This beautiful and decidedly serious effort is deceptively open at present yet it should repay a decade, or even more, of cellar time. (Drink starting 2019)" (04/2012)

Full body, with velvety tannins and juicy fruit. Tannic now, but will soften with age. Lots going on here. Very close to the superb 2008. A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot. Try after 2013." (09/2011)

Outstanding!* Like the Taillepieds, this is also highly perfumed with rose petal, fresh red berries, wet stone and an earthy component that can also be found on the equally mineral-inflected, cool and pure flavors that evidence excellent detail and real verve on the delicious, intense and persistent finish. A lovely and understated Pommard of finesse." (05/2011)

2009 Hundred Acre "Deep Time" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 2009 Hundred Acre "Deep Time" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (100RP, 94ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon Deep Time is another perfect wine. Quintessential elegance, seductiveness and ripeness are all present in this full-bodied, gorgeously rich wine along with intense minerality and abundant, corpulent, cassis, mulberry and boysenberry fruit. It takes a wild ride on the palate with incredible intensity yet a surreal finesse and focus that belie the wine’s compelling concentration and intensity. I’ll cut off my notes now since so few people will ever get a chance to try this beauty, but if you do, it takes you deep into the essence of Cabernet Sauvignon as well as the complicated think tank of Woodbridge’s brain. Anticipated maturity: now-2030. (RP)"

It shows stunning richness and intensity, with layers of dark red fruit, smoke, licorice and tobacco in a style that is very expressive but not at all heavy. The 2009 is Clone 4. 2009 Alban "Reva" Edna Valley Syrah
Bid on this bottle of 2009 Alban "Reva" Edna Valley Syrah (97AG, 97JS, 97RP, 93ST, 92WS). Antonio Galloni: "Alban's 2009 Syrah Reva is drop-dead gorgeous. Sumptuous, layered and absolutely impeccable, the 2009 boasts stunning depth and richness but it is never overdone or excessively heavy. Today, the aromas and flavors remain intensely primary, so readers will have to be patient. Still, the Reva is simply thrilling, pretty much as it always has been from barrel. As compelling as Alban's higher-end Syrahs are, in 2009 I prefer the Reva, as it is the most polished, impeccable and balanced wine in the range. It will be interesting to follow the development of these wines over the next few years. (Antonio Galloni)"

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2009 Velvet Glove offers ripe and rich black cherry aromas that are very fragrant and youthful with accents of licorice and toast, marmite and blueberry pie. Very spicy, rich and full-bodied in the mouth, it has a bright acid line, medium-firm, grainy tannins and a long and voluptuous length on the finish. Drink it from 2014 to 2025+. "
