2007 Il Poggione "Vigna Paganelli" Brunello di Montalcino Riserva (OWC)
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2007 Il Poggione "Vigna Paganelli" Brunello di Montalcino Riserva (OWC - 96AG, 95JS, 95RP, 95WE, 92WS, 91ST) in original wood. Antonio Galloni: "Il Poggione's 2007 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva Vigna Paganelli is utterly stunning, but it is surprisingly tannic and huge for a vintage in which so many wines are much more approachable. Layers of dark red stone fruit open up on the palate, followed by sweet spices, savory herbs and mint. Beautifully perfumed and expressive throughout, the 2007 is a jewel of a wine. The only thing it needs is time." (05/2014)

2001 Giuseppe e Figlio Mascarello "Monprivato" Barolo
Bid on this bottle of 2001 Giuseppe e Figlio Mascarello "Monprivato" Barolo (95RP, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2001 Barolo Monprivato is striking. It boasts gorgeous textural depth and richness to match its highly expressive, compelling aromatics. The wine has begun to soften a touch. Though not at all forbidding at this stage, the 2001 Monprivato remains an infant with at least two more decades of fine drinking ahead. This is a gorgeous effort from Mauro Mascarello. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2031." (04/2012)

2007 Gaja "Conteisa" Langhe (OWC)
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2007 Gaja "Conteisa" Langhe (OWC - 95JS, 95RP, 94ST) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: " The 2007 Langhe Conteisa is impeccably ripe and silky on the palate, with expressive La Morra red fruits, flowers, mint and spices that emerge from the glass. This is another soft, seamless wine from Gaja, with gorgeous purity in the fruit that carries through all the way to the deeply satisfying, creamy finish. The tannins remain impeccably refined and beautifully balanced with the fruit. The wine is likely to firm up a touch in bottle, but it should be one of the most accessible of Gaja’s 2007s. The 2007 is easily among the finest Conteisas ever made. Anticipated maturity: 2017-2027. (AG)" (02/2010)

2009 Bruno Giacosa "Falletto" Barolo (OWC)
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2009 Bruno Giacosa "Falletto" Barolo (OWC - 94RP, 93JS, 92WS, 91AG, 91ST) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Barolo Falletto is an exuberant and exciting wine with tight, firming tannins surrounded by deep layers of dried cherry, licorice, cassis, moist tobacco and campfire ash. What sets this Barolo apart is the focus and care it shows on the bouquet. It is as if each layer is a separately audible voice in a united chorus of flavors and aromas. Also notable is the balanced acidity that adds a bite of freshness without being too sharp. Anticipated maturity: 2015-2035. (ML)" (06/2013)

2004 Giuseppe E Figlio Mascarello "Monprivato" Barolo
Bid on this bottle of 2004 Giuseppe E Figlio Mascarello "Monprivato" Barolo (96AG, 96RP, 92ST, 90WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Mascarello’s 2004 Barolo Monprivato is an explosive wine with an almost Pinot-like expression of purity in its fruit. This round, sweet Barolo is extremely primary at this stage, with tons of dense fruit that almost cover the wine’s tannins completely. Subtle overtones of roses and tar develop in the glass, rounding out this majestic wine. Monprivato is one of the world’s very finest values in collectible, age-worthy wine, and the 2004 is another classic in the making. I was blown away by this wine’s sheer balance and harmony, both of which are remarkable considering the wine’s age. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2034." (10/2008)

2004 Vajra Barolo Bricco delle Viole
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2004 Vajra Barolo Bricco delle Viole (94RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2004 Barolo Bricco delle Viole has lost that touch of freshness that is still found in the 2005. The structured, layered 2004 has begun to develop wonderful complexity in its tobacco, leather, licorice, spices, minerals and menthol. In another few years it should be a magical wine, but for now patience is required. This is another sublime Barolo in the making. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2024." (10/2009)

Wine Enthusiast: "This is a hopelessly gorgeous wine with so much energy, intensity, density and good cheer. The superb ensemble—Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot—delivers chocolate fudge, ripe cherry, rhubarb, cola, tobacco and cedar wood. It’s tight and supple, with seamless harmony and excellent succulence on the finish. But it’s that incredible intensity that truly sets this wine apart." (04/2008)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1996 Gaja "Conteisa" Nebbiolo Langhe ((93-95RP), 93WS, 91ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The opaque purple-colored 1996 Barolo Conteisa reveals a sweet, ripe nose with an element of sur-maturite given its over-ripe cassis, melted road tar, licorice, and spice-scented bouquet. It exhibits a voluptuous texture, layers of concentrated fruit, and full body. Its tannin is largely concealed by the wine's glycerin, alcohol, and extract. Anticipated maturity: 2001-2020. 1999 Giuseppe Mascarello "Monprivato" Barolo
Bid on this bottle of 1999 Giuseppe Mascarello "Monprivato" Barolo (97AG, 95RP, 93ST). Antonio Galloni: "The 1999 Barolo Monprivato is once again stellar. In this tasting, it is the wine's flamboyant fruit and super-expressive aromatics that jump from the glass. Sweet red cherries, pomegranate, hard candy, rose petals and mint meld together as this generous, resonant Barolo shows off its pure and total sense of majesty. Spices and a hint of blood orange develop in a kaleidoscope of aromas and flavors. In 1999, Monprivato is just about as good as it gets. Mauro Mascarello did not bottle his Riserva Ca' d'Morissio in 1999; instead all the best fruit was blended into the Monprivato. Today, the 1999 is utterly thrilling. It's as simple as that." 2001 Paolo Scavino "Cannubi" Barolo
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2001 Paolo Scavino "Cannubi" Barolo (94RP, 93ST, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2001 Barolo Cannubi, a dark ruby, is a classic in the making. It offers a multi-dimensional, delicate nose of flowers, menthol and minerals with plenty of ripe dark cherry fruit, great length and a nuanced, ethereal finish. It will require at least a few years of bottle age and will still be vibrant and full of flavor at age 20. Compared to Scavino’s more imposing Barolos Carobric and Bric del Fiasc, the Cannubi can sometimes be overpowered, but given some cellaring it typically begins to strut its stuff around age 10 and develops into a magical Barolo that can challenge many of the region’s top wines. I still have fond memories of the sublime 1989 and 1990 tasted last year. A great effort. Anticipated maturity: 2009-2019. (AG)" (10/2006)

2004 Conti Costanti Brunello di Montalcino (1.5 L)
Bid on this magnum of 2004 Conti Costanti Brunello di Montalcino (1.5 L) (93ST, 92WS, 90RP). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Bright medium red. Knockout nose suggests a wine of strong extract and extends one's Brunello vocabulary: cherry, peach pit, licorice, lead pencil, honey, jasmine, botanical herbs, you name it. Dry, classic and sharply delineated, conveying a strong impression of energy allied with great delicacy. This manages to be very ripe, broad and silky and at the same time virtually weightless. Finishes sweet, pliant, minerally and very long. With aeration, though, this shut down dramatically in my glass and showed a leathery element. One for the cellar." (07/2009)

1993 Tenuta dell'Ornellaia "Ornellaia" Toscana
Bid on this bottle of 1993 Tenuta dell'Ornellaia "Ornellaia" Toscana (92RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1993 Ornellaia (magnum) is just plain beautiful. Plums, tobacco, spice box, cedar and spices come together with notable elegance. The wine possesses exceptional purity in a soft, approachable style. The 1993 is one of the best Ornellaias for current drinking. It is a wonderful effort. In 1993 Ornellaia relies heavily on Cabernet Sauvignon (78%) and Cabernet Franc (5%) in the blend, while the remaining 17% is Merlot. The wine spent 16 months in French oak, 33% new. Sweet roses, tar, licorice and menthol are all woven together in this deceptively medium-bodied Barolo. There is plenty of muscle to back things up. Bid on this magnum of 2001 Cerbaiona Brunello di Montalcino (1.5L) (OWC - 96RP, 96ST) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "What a joy it is to taste Molinari’s 2001 Brunello di Montalcino. A dark, translucent ruby, it opens with a profound, deeply expressive nose followed by notes of licorice, tar, black cherries and smoke that take on new dimensions of complexity as this great wine sits in the glass. Deceptively medium in body, it shows plenty of vibrant fruit, structure and fine, noble tannins which insure it will still be a magical wine in 15 years and likely beyond. This Brunello has been nothing short of stunning on the two occasions I’ve tasted it so far and it is undoubtedly one of the vintage’s unqualified successes. It is highly recommended. Dark cherries, chocolate, espresso, blackberries and mocha are just some of the many notes that explode from the glass. A rich tapestry of licorice, tar and camphor notes develop in the glass, adding considerable complexity. The 2008 is a huge, structured Ornellaia endowed with massive structure. Sweet dark cherries, menthol, licorice and spices are some of the notes that take shape in the glass. The vineyard's high altitude seems to have helped preserve a measure of freshness and vibrancy. Terra di Lavoro is usually a huge wine in its youth, but not so in 2009. This is one of the most open, approachable young Terra di Lavoros I have ever tasted. The wine shows good intensity in its dark fruit, with layers of ash, smoke, crushed flowers and minerals that develop in the glass. The 2009 is a pretty, accessible Terra di Lavoro that will make a great introduction for readers who are new to the wine and don't want to wait for some of the more important vintages to come around. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2006 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva Vigna Paganelli is huge, powerful and totally implosive. The seductive allure of the 2007 is nowhere to be found. Instead, the 2006 is built on a serious spine of formidable tannin and dark red/black fruit. Hints of tar, licorice, rose petals and tobacco inform the powerful, virile finish. The 2006 is going to require considerable patience, but it is clearly a jewel of a wine, even at this early stage. Anticipated maturity: 2016-2046.(AG)" (04/2012)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2009 Sette Ponti "Oreno" Toscana (OWC - 95JS, 94RP, 93W&S) in original wood. James Suckling: "Currants, blueberries and mint on the nose. Full body, with velvety tannins and juicy fruit. Tannic now, but will soften with age. Lots going on here. Very close to the superb 2008. A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot. Try after 2013." (09/2011)

2007 Pieve di Santa Restituta (Gaja) Brunello di Montalcino "Sugarille" (OWC)
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2007 Pieve di Santa Restituta (Gaja) Brunello di Montalcino "Sugarille" (OWC - 96AG, 95JS, 95ST, 94WE, 92WS) in original wood. Antonio Galloni: "The 2007 Brunello di Montalcino Sugarille is dazzling. Dark fruit, tar, licorice and smoke come to life in this dramatic, large-scaled Brunello. The 2007 boasts incredible intensity and power all the way through to the palate-staining finish. Today the tannins are big and imposing, but they should start settling down as the wine approaches its tenth birthday. I saw the wine shut down quickly in the glass, which is an excellent sign for its potential longevity. This is a flat-out gorgeous bottle of wine. " (04/2012)

2010 Tenuta dell'Ornellaia "Ornellaia" Bolgheri Superiore
Bid on this bottle of 2010 Tenuta dell'Ornellaia "Ornellaia" Bolgheri Superiore (97AG, 97RP, 97WE, 95JS, 94WS). Antonio Galloni: "One of the highlights of the vintage on the Tuscan coast, the 2010 Ornellaia is dazzling. A tightly wound, powerful wine, the 2010 is going to need a few years in the cellar to show the full breadth of its potential and class. Still, it is impossible to miss the wine's pure pedigree and class. Freshly cut flowers, mocha, tobacco, grilled herbs and plums burst from the glass in this beautifully layered, polished Ornellaia. The 2010 is vivid, nuanced and precise from start to finish. I can't wait to see how it develops over the coming years. Today, the 2010 is all about precision, vibrancy and saline-infused energy. I very much like the way the wine continues to open up in the glass."

2004 Conterno Fantino "Sorì Ginestra" Barolo
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2004 Conterno Fantino "Sorì Ginestra" Barolo (96RP, 96ST, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Conterno-Fantino have once again produced one of the vintage’s finest wines with their stunning 2004 Barolo Sori Ginestra, which is just as impressive in bottle as it has been on the several occasions I have tasted it from barrel. This explosive, heady Barolo bursts onto the palate with seamless layers of ripe dark fruit, black cherries, menthol, cinnamon, pine and minerals, revealing profound depth and richness. It offers superb length, gorgeous, sweet tannins and a finish that lasts forever. Although it is a surprisingly accessible Sori Ginestra at this stage, I expect it will close down at some point in the near future. Readers who have an opportunity to taste this wine in the next few months should not hesitate to do so. This is a remarkable Barolo in every way. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2024. (AG)" (12/2007)
