2012 Sea Smoke "Southing" Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir 1.5L
Bid on this magnum of 2012 Sea Smoke "Southing" Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir 1.5L (93WE). Wine Enthusiast: "Named after the famed vineyard’s south-facing slopes, this vintage is expertly crafted, with aromas of ripe red cherry, sandalwood, black pepper, graphite, purple flowers and damp pine needles. It’s complex, with dark red fruit and tickling cardamom spice set against fine-grained tannins. Quite precise and tight now, the violet and rose petal elements will expand…" (04/2015)

2010 Pascal Marchand Vosne Romanee
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2010 Pascal Marchand Vosne Romanee ((89-91ST)). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "(30% vendange entier; a blend of three vineyards, one in the south section, one in the middle and one on the north side of the village): Bright red-ruby. Black cherry, blackberry, minerals and a wild whiff of meaty reduction on the nose. Juicy, intense and concentrated, with good density and strength for village wine. This possesses a firm tannic spine for aging. Marchand has 8 barrels of this juice; the 2009 fruit from the same vineyards yielded 12.)" (02/2012)

Wine Spectator: "Firm, intense and concentrated, with an engaging wild streak running through the zesty blackberry and wild berry fruit flavors. On the finish, it reveals its youthfulness with its mix of new oak and firm, stemmy tannins, but a year or two in bottle should do the trick, rounding out the few rough adolescent edges." (08/2004)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2009 Domaine Henri Boillot Beaune 1er Cru "Clos du Roi" ((91-93ST), 90BH). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Saturated medium ruby. Deep aromas of kirsch, smoke, minerals, flowers and earth are reticent but pure. Big, rich and broad, with harmonious acidity framing the black cherry, chocolate and leather flavors. This classic, complete Beaune wine spreads out to saturate the palate, with lush tannins reaching the front teeth. Quite thick in the style of the vintage but without any excess weight." (01/2011)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2004 Bouchard Père et Fils Beaune-Grèves 1er Cru "Vigne de L'Enfant Jésus" (92BH, 90ST, 90WS). Allen Meadows - Burghound: " **Sweet spot Outstanding!** Fans of this wine will notice a good deal more wood influence than normal but the good news is that it appears to also possess the requisite stuffing to successfully integrate it with time in bottle. The nose is earthy but fresh with excellent density and volume, culminating in an explosively powerful finish. More importantly for a firmly structured wine like this, the supporting tannins are ripe and this too should reward extended cellaring." (04/2006)

Allen Meadows - Burghound: "*Sweet Spot Outstanding* This is also quite restrained with ultra-pure aromas of wet stone, floral hints, sandalwood and very fresh red berry fruit scents. There is a focused power to the robust yet refined medium-bodied flavors that possess plenty of supporting sap that helps to buffer the otherwise firm and well-integrated tannic spine on the explosively long, balanced and moderately austere finish. Bid on this magnum of 1999 Domaine de Montille Volnay 1er Cru "Les Taillepieds" (1.5L) (93ST, 91BH). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Ruby-red. Deep, ripe aromas of raspberry, spices and minerals. Wonderfully chewy and voluminous for a wine from this domain; the 12.9% alcohol is barely average in the context of Burgundy '99, but high for a de Montille wine. Nearly confectionery sweetness leavened by superb vinosity. Finishes with thoroughly sweet, suave tannins and a late burst of cherry flavor. A great Cote de Beaune wine, bottled in August of 2001. Like the Mitans and Rugiens, this aged on its lees for 22 months without being racked. (ST)" (03/2002)

Allen Meadows - Burghound: "**Outstanding** This is also quite ripe with earthy red cherry, plum, earth and spice hints preceding the solidly mineral-driven medium-bodied flavors that also possess unusually fine tannins that contribute to the refined mouth feel of the moderately structured and beautifully complex finish. As with virtually all of the wines in the Taupenot 2010 range, this has a palpable feel of energy to it and you just feel like drinking this, if for no other reason that all of the structural elements are in perfect harmony. Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2008 Jean Grivot Nuits-St-Georges 1er Cru "Les Pruliers" ((89-91BH), 91RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Blond tobacco, faded lily, iris, blackberry, red currant, and rhubarb on the nose of Grivot’s 2008 Nuits-St.-Georges Les Pruliers lead to a bright, invigoratingly tart and saline yet creamily-textured palate underlain by marrowy-rich meat stock. Abundant, fine-grained tannin does nothing to halt either the flow of primary fruit juiciness or of saliva in response. A hint of cherry pit bitterness and savory salinity help extend the finish. Grivot is managing to capture a vivacious, almost delicate side of Nuits-St.-Georges, especially evident in this instance. I wouldn’t be surprised to witness this take on depth with time, and certainly expect it will be worth following for at least 10-12 years. (DS)" (06/2010)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2011 Hudelot-Noëllat Vosne-Romanee 1er Cru "Les Suchots" (91BH, 90ST). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "**Outstanding** An adroit application of wood frames equally restrained but more overtly spiced aromas of black fruit and high-toned floral nuances. This is richer and slightly more full-bodied though with less obvious minerality to the medium-bodied flavors that possess a silky texture, all wrapped in a more structured and even more persistent finish. There is a bit of wood on the finish as well but my score assumes that this will be more fully integrated in time. I should also point out that there is noticeable gas on the finish so if you're going to try a bottle young I would advise decanting it first." (01/2014)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2011 Domaine Clos Frantin (Albert Bichot) Vosne-Romanee 1er Cru "Aux Malconsorts" (90RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Tasted blind at the Burgundy 2011 horizontal tasting in Beaune. The Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Les Malconsorts 2011 has a more obvious nose than de Montille’s, perhaps less complex but still nicely defined with crisp bruised raspberry and blueberry aromas. Only with aeration in the glass does it reluctantly reveal its mineral core – this is more taciturn at the moment. The palate is silky smooth on the entry, the acidity discretely cutting through the concentrated brambly red berry fruit. There is a sense of density on the “solid” finish that is obdurate at the moment but should soften with bottle age without drying out. A little tough natured at present – give this plenty of time in the cellar. (NM)" (11/2014)

2013 Maybach Family "Irmgard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2013 Maybach Family "Irmgard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir. From the winery: "The far reaches of the Sonoma Coast tend to produce wines with distinctive notes driven by the unyielding conditions of their locale. From this vineyard you can see the Pacific Ocean, which puts the site near the fringe of where it is possible for nature to allow the cultivation of wine grapes. In planting this vineyard in 2007, we chose two different California Heritage clones, Swan and Calera, to produce a distinct wine that reflects the soil and climate. This Pinot Noir has leagues of depth and aromatic notes of forest floor, cassis, and cinnamon. On the palate, notes of plum, cranberry compote, rosemary, oolong tea and a zesty acidity draw out into a clean perfumed finish."

Bid on this bottle of 2009 DRC Domaine de la Romanée-Conti La Tâche Grand Cru (98BH, 97RP, 97WS, 96ST). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A discreet but incredibly complex nose features notes of spicy, pure and relatively high-toned fruit that is laced with plenty of rose petal and violet hints. There is excellent energy and freshness to the lacy and stunningly precise broad-scaled flavors that build in intensity from the densely concentrated mid-palate to the explosive and mouth coating finish that seemingly goes on without end. This is a big LT with ample muscle and very firm but not aggressive structure along with superb depth of underlying material and positively mind-blowing length. But the real genius of this wine is the Zen-like harmony and poise though note that it is very tightly wound and will need many years of cellaring before it will be completely ready. In a word, magnificent." (01/2012)

Bid on this magnum of 2007 Merry Edwards "Klopp Ranch" Russian River Valley Pinot Noir (1.5L) (97CG, 94WE, 91WS, 89ST). Connoisseurs Guide: "It is not that this wine is bigger or bolder than its stablemates. It just seems that way because its generous aromas seemingly jump out of the glass, and the layered quality of those aromas reinforces the notion that this is top-notch Pinot. Its full and supple impressions at entry are followed by ripe, deep and deliciously fruity flavors of sweet red cherries, toasted bread, rich, creamy oak and hints of dried raspberries. High-pitched aromas of pomegranate, white pepper, crushed stone and cardamom. Sharply defined, tightly wound and penetrating, with tart berry flavors accented by pepper and braced by a firm acid spine. Like an essence of crunchy crushed fruits. Leanish and not yet pliant, but this vibrant premier cru is nonetheless seamless and very long on the aftertaste. The pH of 3.4 is at the low end in the context of this set of wines." (01/2012)

2008 Domaine Henri Boillot Volnay 1er Cru "Les Fremiets"
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2008 Domaine Henri Boillot Volnay 1er Cru "Les Fremiets" (91ST, 90RP). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: " Good deep red. Black cherry, licorice and herbs on the nose, given punch by strong peppery spices. Sweet, supple and nicely concentrated if a bit less complex and high-pitched than the 2009 version. Lovely black cherry fruit displays a tangy sweetness. The very long finish features dusty, fine-grained tannins. The crop level here was just 18 hectoliters per hectare, according to Boillot. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2011 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Les Cherbaudes has a feminine, lifted bouquet that is very fragrant with cold stone and spice. This has a lovely voluminous palate adorned with immense precision, fresh acidity and lovely tension and race toward the finish. Full of vigor and minerality, the Cherbaudes is one of Jean-Marie’s finest 2011s. Drink 2014-2023. (NM)" (08/2013)

Bid on this magnum of 2004 Domaine des Lambrays Clos des Lambrays Grand Cru (1.5L) (97WE, 93WS, 91ST, 90BH). Wine Enthusiast: "To say this is textbook Pinot Noir is to do this stunning wine an injustice. But it does have everything that should be in a great Pinot Noir--the sumptuousness, the silky tannins, the touch of wood, the red fruits. All of these are enveloped in an elegant structure, leaving freshness and delicious, refreshing acidity at the end. " (03/2007)

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2010 Domaine Taupenot-Merme Chambolle-Musigny ((89-91BH), (89-90RP)). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "**Outstanding** This is quite ripe yet remains both elegant and attractively fresh while displaying aromas of violet, cassis and red berry fruit liqueur. The mineral-inflected medium weight flavors are classic Chambolle and extremely fine as the supported tannins are perfectly integrated with the balanced and tension-filled finish. This is really lovely." (01/2012)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2011 Domaine Michel Lafarge Volnay 1er Cru "Clos des Chênes" (93BH, 92ST, 91RP). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "**Outstanding** This is more deeply pitched still with a gorgeously pure, elegant and ultra-pure nose of dark berries, cherry liqueur and plum. There is marvelous concentration to the overtly muscular and powerful large-scaled, intense and mouth coating flavors that exude a fine minerality on the austere, serious and explosively persistent finish. This is a big yet perfectly balanced effort that will likely require a full 12 years of cellar time as the supporting tannins are very firm. Arguably the Clos des Chênes of the vintage." (04/2014)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2011 Domaine Robert Chevillon Nuits-St-Georges 1er Cru "Les Saint Georges" ((92-95BH), (91-94ST)). Allen Meadows - Burghound: " *Don't miss! Outstanding * Like the Pruliers this is very reserved, indeed it required plenty of swirling to coax the otherwise pretty, layered and remarkably complex nose of underbrush, earth, spice hints, floral nuances plus both red and blue pinot fruit. There is a distinctly earthy and entirely serious character to the refined flavors that are at once supple yet concentrated, all wrapped in balanced, overtly powerful and jaw-dropping persistent finish. Most impressive." (01/2013)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2002 Domaine Comte Armand Pommard 1er Cru "Clos des Epeneaux" (92BH, 90RP). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "This is evolving somewhat more slowly than I originally foresaw because while there is some secondary development to the earthy dark berry fruit aromas trimmed in just enough wood to notice, there is enough primary character remaining to suggest that this is still several years away from its peak. There is fine concentration and volume to the mouth coating and utterly delicious medium-bodied flavors that possess impressive depth and length. This is not a particularly refined vintage for this wine but I like the sleek muscularity and power on the lingering finish. Lovely stuff and very much still on the way up." (10/2013)

2007 Rhys Santa Cruz Mountains Pinot Noir Tasting Lot

Of the 2007 Rhys "Alpine Hillside" Santa Cruz Mountains Pinot Noir,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "Rhys Vineyards produces very ambitious wines from vines planted in specific sites in the Santa Cruz Mountains...it is almost impossible to latch on to a few bottles unless you are on the mailing list. The vineyards are generally tightly spaced (2 by 3 feet for Pinot Noir and 4 by 3 feet for Syrah), and the clonal selections are multiple in order to hopefully achieve more complexity and nuance. This is an impressive, well thought out operation, believing, certainly with Pinot Noir, in whole clusters, no racking, and a minimal, artisinal approach to winemaking. The yields are naturally very smal

2007 Littorai "Hirsch Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2007 Littorai "Hirsch Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir (91ST, 90RP, 90WS). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Medium red. Strawberry, flowers, fresh herbs, black tea and spices on the nose. Juicy, bright and gripping, with lovely acidity framing the strawberry, orange peel, licorice and spice flavors. Finishes with sweet tannins and very good length. Winemaker/owner Ted Lemon noted that cool weather in May and June of '07 resulted in an extended and uneven flowering but that the season from that point was "close to ideal, with little stress on the vines." Some brilliant sunshine at the end of August was great for early-picked vines (as a general rule, Lemon prefers to pick early, especially with chardonnay), but then "everything stopped" during the middle two weeks of September due to cooler conditions, and there was "a very long pause" at Littorai. Ultimately, says Lemon, the 2007s have acidity levels similar to those of the 2006s but with lower

2009 Sojourn "Gap's Crown" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2009 Sojourn "Gap's Crown" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir (93RP, 92WS, 90WE). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "An up-and-coming hillside vineyard seen more and more in Sonoma is the Gap’s Crown Vineyard on the Sonoma Coast. The 2009 Pinot Noir Gap’s Crown Vineyard, made from some whole clusters, is one of the deeper, more saturated ruby-colored Pinot Noirs from Sojourn. Very Burgundian, with deep raspberry, forest floor, and black cherry fruit as well as hints of earth and mineral, there is a sense of spring flowers as well in this complex, deep, rich, full-bodied Pinot Noir, which is stunning. It has loads of black and red fruits, and to me is the most complex of the Pinot Noirs in the Sojourn Cellars portfolio. It is also a blend of the more modern clones, 113, 114 and 828. Already drinking well, with lots of complexity, it should continue to do so for 7-8 more years." (02/2011)

Allen Meadows - Burghound: " * Outstanding * Wonderfully fresh and exuberant with a very pretty and complex mix of minerals, spices, red raspberry and black cherry fruit aromas that are a good deal riper than those of the Vosne villages. The round, sweet and sappy medium weight flavors offer good detail and enough power to be interesting as well as good if not special length." (01/2004)

I quite like this as it offers buckets of character and excellent aging potential." (01/2007)

A flat out brilliant wine for this level and best that de Vogüé has ever made." (01/2009)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The compelling 2012 Pinot Noir Ma Danseuse (1,480 cases) is even better than the 2013. Notes of lead pencil shavings, DRC-like forest floor, black raspberry, blackcurrant, Asian plum sauce, rose petal and sweet cherry characteristics are found in this spectacular, multidimensional, prodigious Pinot Noir that should drink well for 10-15+ years."
