Of the 2003 Mitolo "GAM" Shiraz McLaren Vale South Australia,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "The spectacular, dense ruby/purple-colored 2003 Shiraz G. A. M. (named after the Mitolo family’s three children) exhibits aromas of lead pencil shavings, blackberries, blueberries, cassis, licorice, new oak, and scorched earth. This complex 2003 comes across as a hypothetical blend of a great La Mission-Haut-Brion from Bordeaux and a Rhone Valley Hermitage such as Chapoutier's Pavillon. Bid on this bottle of 2002 Penfolds Grange Shiraz South Australia (98RP, 95WS, 94ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Opaque purple, it gives off an ethereal bouquet of violets, saddle leather, blueberry, blackberry, pencil lead, and chocolate. This is followed by a full-bodied wine with tremendous concentration, multiple layers of flavor, ripe tannins, and great balance. Thick and rich, with a 60-second finish, it will slowly blossom over the next 15-20 years and provide pleasure through 2050. It is a legend in the making!" (10/2007)

2006 Noon Reserve Shiraz Langhorne Creek South Australia
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2006 Noon Reserve Shiraz Langhorne Creek South Australia (99RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2006 Reserve Shiraz was sourced from a 45-year-old vineyard and aged for 18 months in small and large French and American oak. Opaque purple/black in color, it gives up a lavish perfume of smoke, mineral, game, bacon, and blueberry that leaps from the glass. Thick, opulent, and intense, it coats the mouth with savory fruit, spices, and a hint of chocolate. Seamless on the palate, it nevertheless conceals enough structure to evolve for a decade for those able to resist its immediate come-on. It should be at its best from 2012 to 2030. " (02/2009)

1998 Fox Creek "Reserve" Shiraz McLaren Vale South Australia
Bid on this bottle of 1998 Fox Creek "Reserve" Shiraz McLaren Vale South Australia (96RP, 95ST, 90JH). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1998 Shiraz Reserve has the most potential of this trio. It combines some of the mature elements of the 1997 with the massive richness of the 1996, but without the 1996's slightly rustic framework. A dense purple color is followed by a sensational bouquet of creme de cassis, charcoal, and incense. Full-bodied, opulent, and voluptuously-textured, this is a big, but incredibly well-balanced wine. Its fruit bomb-like personality of a decade ago has morphed into something far more civilized, delineated, and refined. This gorgeous offering is a superb example of McLaren Vale Shiraz. Enjoy it over the next 10-15+ years. (RP)" (06/2009)

2010 Penfolds "St. Henri" Shiraz South Australia
Bid on this bottle of 2010 Penfolds "St. Henri" Shiraz South Australia (98JS, 97JH, 97RP, 95WE, 95WS, 93ST, 92W&S). James Suckling: "A rare vintage of only shiraz in this wine, the sourcing is Barossa Valley, McLaren Vale, Coonawarra, Adelaide Hills, Wrattonbully and Clare Valley. A very handy vintage of this classically styled Penfolds red. Bright hearty fruit dominates amid earth, tar and dark nutty elements; boot polish too, really deep. The palate has seamless flow and build with immense concentration at play. Dark liquorice, blackberry and plum are swathed in deeply ripe, smooth but strong tannins. The finish holds and holds, with dark plum here too. Having terrific length and depth, this will go down as one of the greatest ever St. Henri releases." (02/2015)

2002 Greenock Creek "Apricot Block" Shiraz Barossa
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2002 Greenock Creek "Apricot Block" Shiraz Barossa (96RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The prodigious 2002 Shiraz Apricot Block (only 10-year-old vines) was produced from fruit cropped at 1.5 tons per acre. Its big, peppery, floral, blueberry, blackberry, pen ink, and vanillin-scented bouquet is followed by a wine with a nervous energy that is totally in keeping with the cool 2002 vintage. Dense, with great purity of fruit, a fabulously multi-layered, full-bodied palate, and an inky finish with enormous concentration, sweet tannin, and superb overall balance, this young, unevolved Shiraz should begin to strut its stuff in 3-4 years, and last for two decades. 1998 & 2004 Peter Lehmann "Stonewell" Shiraz Barossa Valley South Australia Tasting Lot
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1998 & 2004 Peter Lehmann "Stonewell" Shiraz Barossa Valley South Australia Tasting Lot, including 1-bottle of 1998 Peter Lehmann "Stonewell" Shiraz Barossa Valley South Australia (95W&S, 94RP) and 1-bottle of 2004 Peter Lehmann "Stonewell" Shiraz Barossa Valley South Australia (93WS, 92RP, 91ST, 91WE). Of the 1998 Peter Lehmann "Stonewell" Shiraz Barossa Valley South Australia,Wine & Spirits writes: "Black, smoky, dense and floral, this wine packs everything you'd want in a Barossa shiraz and presents it with silken refinement. And then there's the spice, the bold and explosive layers of Moroccan, Arabian, Mexican and Caribbean spice, endless layers of it sailing off into the finish. Stonewell is made from Lehmann's top, low-yielding old-vine sources in western Barossa, some over a century old. This is one of the best of the '98s we've tasted, remarkably young for a six-year-old wine, well suited to another five to ten years of aging." (02/2005)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2003 Kay Brothers "Amery Vineyards Hillside" Shiraz McLaren Vale South Australia (92RP, 90ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "One of Australia’s most traditional winemakers, Colin Kay fashions old style, high quality, distinctive Australian reds. Tarry, chewy, and fleshy, the 2003 Shiraz Hillside has a bit more punch (15% alcohol) as well as a sappy character that is not present in the regular bottling. It is a broad, savory, expansively flavored, full-bodied Shiraz ... (RP)" (10/2005)
