2011 Sociando-Mallet, Haut-Médoc (OWC)
Bid on this 12-bottle lot of 2011 Sociando-Mallet, Haut-Médoc (OWC - 91RP, 90JS) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Whether it is due to the vintage or to Gautreau, the ferocity of the tannins in many 2011 Medocs seems relatively tame, but there is no lacking concentration in this wine, which is clearly of classified growth quality. It boasts a dense purple color along with abundant notes of creme de cassis, crushed rocks and spring flowers. Medium-bodied and super-rich, it is a real revelation in a vintage such as 2011. Given its precociousness and silky tannins, it can be drunk in 2-3 years, or cellared for two decades. (RP)" (04/2014)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2011 Clinet Pomerol (OWC - 95RP, (91-93WE), 93WS, 92JS, (89-92ST)) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Clinet has produced a blockbuster wine, even in the lighter, less consistent vintage of 2011. It reveals a dense purple color as well as an abundance of black cherry, black currant and blackberry fruit intermixed with licorice, incense and a touch of camphor. Full-bodied, opulent and fleshy with a substantial finish, this showy, dramatic 2011 should drink well for 15-20 years. Brilliant! (RP)" (04/2014)

Bid on this 12-bottle lot of 2008 de Fieuzal, Pessac-Léognan (OWC - 92RP, 90JS, 90ST, 90WS) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A big time sleeper of the vintage and a terrific success for Fieuzal, the 2008 is a wine to buy given its realistic price. Dense plum/purple-colored with a soaring bouquet of blue and black fruits, unsmoked cigar tobacco, lead pencil shavings and spring flowers, it is a suave, savory, medium to full-bodied, remarkably silky, appealing wine to enjoy over the next 12-15 years. Bravo!" (05/2011)

Still quite fresh, but the long finish hints at a mellow nuttiness that will develop with age. Drink now through 2015." (03/2013)

1976 Mouton Rothschild, Pauillac (3L)
Bid on this 3L-bottle lot of 1976 Mouton Rothschild, Pauillac (3L). From Robert Parker…'Mouton-Rothschild can often be the most dramatic and flamboyant wine of the Medoc. The heavy reliance on Cabernet Sauvignon (85%) with tiny quantities of Merlot (8%) and Cabernet Franc (7%) in the 185-acre vineyard tends to produce powerful, nearly opaque purple wines that taste remarkably well young but close up quickly, with the wine's tannin dominating the fruit for 10-15 or more years.' 2010 Haut-Brion, Pessac-Léognan
Bid on this bottle of 2010 Haut-Brion, Pessac-Léognan (100RP, 99WS, 98ST, 98WE, 97JS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "As for the 2010 Haut-Brion, it does not have the power of Latour’s 2010 or the intense lead pencil shavings and chocolaty component of Lafite-Rothschild, but it is extraordinary, perfect wine. It has a slightly lower pH than the 2009 (3.7 versus the 2009's 3.8), and even higher alcohol than the 2009 (14.6%). The wine is ethereal. From its dense purple color to its incredibly subtle but striking aromatics that build incrementally, offering up a spectacular smorgasbord of aromas ranging from charcoal and camphor to black currant and blueberry liqueur and spring flowers, this wine’s finesse, elegant yet noble power and authority come through in a compelling fashion. It is full-bodied, but that’s only apparent in the aftertaste, as the wine seems to float across the palate with remarkable sweetness, harmony, and the integration of all its component parts – alcohol, tannin,

1990 Léoville-Las-Cases, St-Julien
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1990 Léoville-Las-Cases, St-Julien (96RP, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "As one might expect, this is a brilliant wine, but it remains shockingly young, even for the fast evolving 1990s. Its deep ruby/purple color is accompanied by a classic, nearly restrained set of aromatics that includes notions of sweet black cherries, black currants, lead pencil, and wet stones. In the mouth, it is full-bodied, and while technically low in acidity, there is a freshness, delineation, and classicism in this full-throttle, rich, concentrated, impeccable 1990. While still youthful, it is easy to appreciate despite its substantial tannins. It is not quite as backward as the 1990 Lafite Rothschild or 1990 Latour. Anticipated maturity: now-2035. 1986 Margaux, Margaux
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1986 Margaux, Margaux (98AG, 98RP, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A magnificent example of Chateau Margaux and one of the most tannic, backward Margauxs of the last 50 years, the 1986 continues to evolve at a glacial pace. The color is still a dense ruby/purple with just a hint of lightening at the rim. With several hours of aeration, the aromatics become striking, with notes of smoke, toast, creme de cassis, mineral, and white flowers. Very full-bodied, with high but sweet tannin, great purity, and a very masculine, full-bodied style, this wine should prove nearly immortal in terms of its aging potential. It is beginning to budge from its infantile stage and approach adolescence. Anticipated maturity: 2008-2050. Last tasted, 12/02. (RP)" (01/2003)

Bid on this 10-bottle lot of 2000 Haut-Bergey, Pessac-Léognan (94RP, 90ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "I bought this wine for myself because I thought it was a sleeper of the vintage, and I couldn’t be happier. My score in two tastings was identical to what it was seven years ago. Chocolatey espresso notes jump from the glass of this dark ruby/purple-colored wine. Full-bodied, with a silky texture, loads of concentration and density, this is a beautiful wine that is both hedonistically and intellectually pleasing. The wine seems to have reached full maturity, where it should stay for another 10-15 years." (06/2010)

1989 La Mission Haut-Brion, Pessac-Léognan
Bid on this bottle of 1989 La Mission Haut-Brion, Pessac-Léognan (100RP, 97ST, 96WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Both La Mission-Haut-Brion and Haut-Brion hit home runs in this vintage, which did not produce as many profound wines as the Bordeaux publicity machine suggested. 1989, the 200th anniversary of the French revolution, was an incredibly hot year (surpassed only by 1990 and 2003). Even from barrel the seamless 1989 La Mission revealed a special elixir aspect, tasting like it had been designed by Chanel. It still possesses a blue/purple color with only a hint of garnet creeping in, and the explosive aromatics offer up notes of licorice, creme de cassis, blueberry liqueur, smoky barbecue meats, truffles and graphite. If that’s not enough to get one salivating, the palate has never disappointed either. Full-bodied with extraordinary opulence as well as sweet, well-integrated, velvety tannins, this fresh, lively, blockbuster La Mission appears to be one of those rare wines tha

2009 Mouton Rothschild, Pauillac
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2009 Mouton Rothschild, Pauillac (99RP, 98JS, 98WS, 97ST, 96WE). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Mouton Rothschild has a striking label from Anish Kapoor. The wine is a blend of 88% Cabernet Sauvignon and 12% Merlot that begs comparison as a young wine with what the 1982 tasted like in 1985 or, I suspect, what the 1959 may have tasted like in 1962. Representing 50% of their production, the wine has an inky purple color to the rim and not terribly high alcohol for a 2009 (13.2%), but that is reflected by the high percentage of Cabernet Sauvignon. It has a remarkable nose of lead pencil shavings, violets, creme de cassis and subtle barrique smells. It is stunningly opulent, fat, and super-concentrated, but the luxurious fruit tends to conceal some rather formidable tannins in the finish." (02/2012)

1996 Margaux, Margaux
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1996 Margaux, Margaux (99RP, 96ST, 95WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1996 Chateau Margaux, which was bottled in September 1998, is undoubtedly one of the great classics produced under the Mentzelopoulos regime. In many respects it is the quintessential Chateau Margaux, as well as the paradigm for this estate, combining measured power, extraordinary elegance, and admirable complexity. I tasted the wine of three separate occasions in January, and in short, it's a beauty! The color is opaque purple. The wine offers extraordinarily pure notes of blackberries, cassis, pain grille, and flowers, gorgeous sweetness, a seamless personality, and full body, with nothing out of place." (04/1999)

Spring flowers, crushed rocks, creme de cassis and some subtle oak are followed by a full-bodied, concentrated wine that transcends the vintage character in its power, richness, and aging potential. It also exhibits tremendous precision, purity, and depth of character. It is more forward than the 2010 is likely to be, but probably not as sumptuous as the 2009 will turn out to be. Full-bodied, dense purple in color, with floral notes intermixed with blackberries, cassis, graphite and spring flowers, this full-bodied, legendary effort is long and opulent, with wonderfully abundant yet sweet tannin, a skyscraper-like mid-palate and a thrilling, nearly one-minute finish. 2002 Pichon-Lalande, Pauillac
Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2002 Pichon-Lalande, Pauillac (94RP, (91-94ST), 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "One of the best wines of the vintage, this is a classic Pauillac that is a blend of 51% Cabernet Sauvignon, 34% Merlot, 9% Cabernet Franc, and 6% Petit Verdot. Dense ruby/purple in color with a glorious nose of melted licorice, lavender, barbecue smoke, black currants, and graphite, the wine is tannic, classically structured with an opaque ruby/purple color, beautiful definition, and a 1996-ish personality. This deep, full-bodied, elegant yet powerful 2002 should age handsomely for over two decades. Some patience will be required since this vintage exhibits more muscle and virility than normal. 2003 Latour, Pauillac
Bid on this bottle of 2003 Latour, Pauillac (100JS, 100RP, (96-98WE), 98WS, 97ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Administrator Frederic Engerer says the 2003 is “the sexiest Latour ever made.” He also described it as “the 1990 without any brettanomyces.” I loved this wine from the barrel and was fortunate enough to be able to purchase a small quantity, enjoying every bottle I have had. A profound example of Chateau Latour, the full-bodied, opulent 2003 is already performing well at age eleven, which is somewhat atypical. The pH is a relatively high 3.8, which also indicates low acidity. The wine is very ripe, but not over-ripe, offers great freshness, and lots of creme de cassis and camphor as well as hints of blackberries and chocolate. Dense, thick and unctuously textured, this staggering Latour is undeniably the most sumptuous, opulent wine made here since the 1982 or 1961. Drink it over the next two decades. " (08/2014)

2010 Cheval Blanc, St-Emilion
Bid on this bottle of 2010 Cheval Blanc, St-Emilion (100JS, 100RP, 100WE, 98WS, 95ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2010 is one of the most impressive two-year-old Cheval Blancs I have tasted in 34 years in this profession. The final blend of 54% Cabernet Franc and 46% Merlot has the tell-tale berry/floral nose with subtle hints of menthol, blueberry, raspberry and flowers in addition to some forest floor and a delicate touch of lead pencil shavings. The wine exhibits more structure and density than it did from barrel, and it was already remarkable then. The foresty/floral notes seem to linger and linger in this surprisingly full-bodied, powerful Cheval Blanc, yet it possesses a very healthy pH that should ensure enormous longevity. Dense purple in color, and a bigger, richer wine than usual, this is one Cheval Blanc that will probably need a decade of cellaring. I like the description from the estate’s administrator, Pierre Lurton, who said it tasted like “liquid cashmere,” a p

Of the 2000 Cos d'Estournel, St-Estèphe,Wine Spectator writes: "*#2 on the Top 100 Wines of 2003, Collectibles* Absolutely gorgeous on the nose, with currants, blackberries and freshly cut flowers. Full-bodied, with ultrafine tannins and a solid core of fruit. This goes on and on on the palate. The essence of class and refinement. Relatively good value, considering the superb quality. 1999 Margaux, Margaux
Bid on this bottle of 1999 Margaux, Margaux (94RP, 93ST, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The sexy, dark plum/purple-colored 1999 Margaux is already revealing complex aromatics. This surprisingly charming and round offering is reminiscent of a vintage such as 1985. Although neither a blockbuster nor a heavyweight, it grows in the mouth revealing tremendous length as well as purity. Administrator Paul Pontallier prefers it to the more austere 1998, as do I. This is an archetypical Chateau Margaux of richness, finesse, balance, and symmetry. It can be drunk young, but promises to age nicely for two decades. Extrapolating backwards, it would probably have something in common with the underrated 1962 Medocs. (RP)" (04/2002)

Bid on this bottle of 2000 Léoville-Las-Cases, St-Julien (100JS, 100WS, 98RP, 95ST, 95W&S). Wine Spectator: "*Collectibles, #5 on the Top 100 Wines of 2003* Absolutely fantastic. This is one of the most exciting young reds I have tasted in a long, long time. It shows intense aromas of berries, currants and minerals, with hints of mint. Full-bodied and packed with fruit and tannins, its long finish is refined and silky. A benchmark for the vintage. Las Cases has always wanted to make first-growth quality in a top-notch vintage, and it certainly did in 2000. Best after 2012. " (03/2003)

Full-bodied and very sweet, with fantastic concentration of ripe and botrytized fruit, yet balanced and refined. Electric acidity. Lasts for minutes on the palate. This is absolutely mind-blowing. This is the greatest young Sauternes I have ever tasted. Best after 2010." (09/2004)

1966 Ducru-Beaucaillou, St-Julien
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1966 Ducru-Beaucaillou, St-Julien. Wine Spectator: "Shows good intensity in a fully mature wine. Ripeness comes through in the sweet dried fruit and brown sugar flavors, but it has a firm backbone of tannin." (10/1992)

1966 Montrose, St-Estèphe
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1966 Montrose, St-Estèphe. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1966 is still dark ruby with a peppery, very spice, yet tight, relatively closed bouquet. The wine is austere and tough on the palate, with good fruit and firm, rough tannins. Comparatively, it is not as massive or as rich as the 1970, 1964, or 1961, but is still backward and austere. Will the fruit hold up to the tannins? Anticipated maturity: Now-2005. Last tasted, 1/90." (01/1998)

1966 Grand-Puy-Lacoste, Pauillac
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1966 Grand-Puy-Lacoste, Pauillac. In his book "Vintage Wine," critic Michael Broadbent wrote of the 1966 Grand-Puy-Lacoste: "This always is a long-distance runner, and a château whose wine I now buy every vintage. My first taste of the '66 was a pleasant, piquant Justerini & Brooks' bottling in 1971. At a Decanter tasting in 1979, softer than Ducru; a well-developed, characteristically sinewy classic in the mid-1980s. Last tasted April 1993. **** and still developing."

1973 Pichon-Lalande, Pauillac
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1973 Pichon-Lalande, Pauillac. This well-regarded chateau was named one of the Second Growths in the Official 1855 Classification of Bordeaux, and has continued to make a name for itself in the ensuing years with a voluptuous, soft style, thanks to a higher percentage of Merlot in its wine than its Left-Bank neighbors. One of the so-called "Super Seconds," it's known for elegance, complexity, and serious longevity.

2005 Grand Pontet, St-Emilion
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2005 Grand Pontet, St-Emilion (93RP, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Kudos to proprietress Sophie Porquet, who also makes the sensational Cotes de Castillon, Joanin-Becot. From this 35-acre vineyard she has fashioned a sensational blend of 70% Merlot and the rest Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. Her finest effort since taking over this property in 1999, the 2005 boasts a saturated purple color followed by notes of ripe blackberries, black currants, licorice, incense, chocolate, and espresso. Thick, highly-extracted flavors nearly obscure the elevated tannins. This big, serious, rich claret is meant to last for three decades or more. A great wine for the vintage, it is also a sleeper of the vintage given the fact that this estate remains under most consumer’s radar. Anticipated maturity: 2015-2030+. (RP)" (04/2008)

2004 Gracia, St-Emilion
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2004 Gracia, St-Emilion (93RP, (90-91ST)). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Sculptor/stone mason Michel Gracia has turned in another astonishing performance. His friendship with Alain Vauthier (Ausone’s proprietor) has no doubt resulted in some serious discussions on wine quality. Cropped at a remarkably low 20 hectoliters per hectare and made from a blend of 80% Merlot and the rest Cabernet Franc as well as a dollop of Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2004 boasts an Ausone-like perfume of black fruits, crushed rocks, and spring flowers. In the mouth, it’s full-bodied, powerful, rich, pure, and beautifully layered. Bottled unfined and unfiltered, there are only 358 cases of this tour de force in garagiste winemaking.
