It is very rare to find the delicate, still Pinot Noir rosés from Riceys in the USA - grab it before it is gone... We only got three cases! (Gary Westby, K&L) This is a SERIOUS Rose, not a simple picnic type of Rose. It has a dark garnet colour and a nose of fresh picked strawberries. On the palate, strawberries, pomegranate and blood orange. Long, nicely acidic finish with cranberry undertones. This may even be a main course Rose! Benoit Marguet is one of the leaders of the organic revolution in Champagne, and all of his estate vineyards are in conversion to biodynamic farming. He has returned to plowing the vineyards with a horse rather than with a tractor, as the horse hooves aerate the soil while a tractor compacts the soil. Fluteau Brut Rosé Champagne

Wow, is this stuff dark! If you are interested in tasting a red wine Champagne, this is your opportunity. This potent, even tannic, Champagne reminds me very much of red wine, but with wonderful bubbles. It is entirely estate grown Pinot Noir, from the Fluteau estate in Gye-Sur-Seine, made by the macerating all of the grape skins so they stay in contact with all of the juice to get the maximum flavor and color.
