Bid on this 12-bottle lot of 2003 M. Chapoutier Côte-Rôtie "La Mordorée" (96RP, 94WS, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The finest Cote Rotie Chapoutier has produced since 1991, the dense purple-hued 2003 Cote Rotie La Mordoree reveals a sumptuous perfume of new saddle leather, barbecued meats, herbs, black raspberries, and creme de cassis. This stunningly concentrated, full-bodied, rich wine takes Cote Rotie to a new quality level." (02/2006)

2007 Clos des Papes Châteauneuf-du-Pape
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2007 Clos des Papes Châteauneuf-du-Pape (99RP, 97WS, 95ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "It is unquestionably one of the great Chateauneufs of my lifetime...Wow, what potential complexity, mind-boggling richness, and compelling flavor profile are apparent. It is a sublime expression of the art of winemaking as evidenced by its dense purple color and big, sweet kiss of kirsch, framboise, blackberries, licorice, roasted herbs, and smoked meat. It hits the palate with a fascinating combination of substance, power, full-bodied authority yet extraordinary freshness, elegance, and precision. Give it 3-4 years of cellaring, and watch it unleash its glory over the next three decades. This is a prodigious wine of great quality from one of the most important reference point estates in Chateauneuf du Pape. 99+ (RP)" (10/2009)

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2003 Delas "Les Bessards" Hermitage (97RP, 97WS, 95WE, 93W&S, 92ST). Wine Spectator: "Tremendous depth of fruit right from the start, with layers of freshly crushed blackberry, fig paste and currant confiture, all carried by seamless, fine-grained tannins while truffle and cocoa notes fill out the background. Enthralling finish is stretched out by underlying minerality and exotic spice notes, but still remains firmly planted in its terroir. Drink now through 2030." (05/2006)

1990 Paul Jaboulet Aîné "La Chapelle" Hermitage
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1990 Paul Jaboulet Aîné "La Chapelle" Hermitage (100RP, 97WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1990 La Chapelle is sexy and opulent. I had the 1990 at the Jaboulet tasting, and again out of a double magnum three months ago. On both occasions it was spectacular, clearly meriting a three-digit score. The modern day equivalent of the 1961, it deserves all the attention it has garnered. The color remains an opaque purple, with only a slight pink at the edge. Spectacular aromatics offer up aromas of incense, smoke, blackberry fruit, cassis, barbecue spice, coffee, and a touch of chocolate. As it sits in the glass, additional nuances of pepper and grilled steak emerge. There is extraordinary freshness for such a mammoth wine in addition to abundant tannin, an amazing 60-second finish, and a level of glycerin and thick, fleshy texture that have to be tasted to be believed. Despite its youthfulness, the 1990 La Chapelle is lovely to drink, although it will be e

2006 Clos des Papes Châteauneuf-du-Pape
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2006 Clos des Papes Châteauneuf-du-Pape (98RP, 95ST, 95WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2006 Chateauneuf du Pape is one of the two or three candidates for the wine of the vintage. An extraordinarily great wine, the 2006 is far superior to the 2005, which was amazing, and while made in a different style, is as great as the 2003, and such legends as 1990 and 1978. Fashioned from a minuscule 21 hectoliters per hectare, and tipping the scales at 15.2% natural alcohol, the 2006 boasts a dense ruby/purple color to the rim, in addition to an extraordinary bouquet of melted licorice, spring flowers, raspberries, black currants, spice box, and earth. In the mouth, it is utterly profound – full-bodied and multidimensional with astonishing purity, length, equilibrium, and intensity. This is a superb vintage for the Avrils, and Vincent deserves huge accolades for producing a wine of such incredible intensity and complexity. Think of Clos des Papes as a Chateaune

1989 Chateau de Fonsalette "Réserve" Côtes-du-Rhône
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1989 Chateau de Fonsalette "Réserve" Côtes-du-Rhône (92RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1989 Fonsalette Cotes du Rhone is a beautifully made, seductive mouthful of wine. It is all velvet and silk, and there is a whopping degree of alcohol in the finish. Along with the huge 1990, it appears to be the finest Fonsalette since the late 1970s. The tannin is soft and the acidity is low, yet the wine's concentration and magical flavors (over-ripe, jammy cherries, truffles, grilled meats, and thyme) are dazzling. Drink it over the next 10-12 years. (RP)" (02/1996)

Bid on this bottle of 2009 Mas de Boislauzon "Cuvee de Quet" Châteauneuf-du-Pape (96RP, 94WS, 90ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee du Quet (80% tank-aged Grenache and 20% small barrel-aged Mourvedre from 60-year-old vines) is spectacular. Its dense purple color is accompanied by an exquisite bouquet of boysenberries, mulberries, blueberries and other wild mountain blue and black fruits. Possessing great intensity, a full-bodied mouthfeel and superb purity, it is a singular expression of old vine Grenache blended with Mourvedre. The finish lasts for 50+ seconds, and the wine has a skyscraper-like texture as well as a multidimensional set of aromatics and flavors. This brilliant offering is more evolved and forward than either the 2007 or 2010. (RP)"

Bid on this bottle of 2010 Bosquet des Papes "À la Gloire de Mon Grand-Père" Châteauneuf-du-Pape (98RP, 94WS, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A 100% Grenache cuvee from the Gardiole lieu-dit is the 2010 Chateauneuf du Pape a la Gloire de Mon Grandpere. With 43 separate parcels spread throughout the appellation, the Boiron family can pick and choose the best, but it must be a strategic nightmare to manage all these different parcels. This 2010 (500 cases produced) includes 50% stems and is aged entirely in demi-muids. Close to perfection, it is the finest example of this cuvee I have tasted since its debut in 1998. Drinking it is like drinking pure kirsch liqueur intermixed with notes of crushed spring flowers."

Bid on this magnum of 2000 Pierre Usseglio "Mon Aieul" Châteauneuf-du-Pape (1.5L) (95RP, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The profound 2000 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee de Mon Aieul (85% Grenache and the rest equal parts Syrah, Mourvedre, and Cinsault) tips the scales at 15% alcohol. From an old vineyard and cropped at 15 hectoliters per hectare, and aged only in foudre, it boasts a dense purple color in addition to an exquisite nose of violets, minerals, blueberries and blackberries. Pure and concentrated, but atypically tannic, it requires considerable aging as it is one of the vintage's more backward, broodingly powerful efforts. Anticipated maturity: 2006-2020." (02/2003)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2005 Beaucastel Coudoulet Cotes du Rhone is another outstanding example of this Cotes du Rhone made essentially across the border from Chateauneuf du Pape. Notes of tapenade, licorice, smoked herbs, and meat juices interwoven with black cherry and darker fruits are followed by an expansive, broadly flavored, full-bodied wine with no hard edges, gorgeous fruit purity, and a long, spicy, heady finish. This is almost the bottled essence of Provence. Drink it over the next decade or more. (RP)" (08/2008)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2007 Domaine La Millière "Vieilles Vignes" Châteauneuf-du-Pape (92RP, 91ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The beautiful 2007 Chateauneuf du Pape Vieilles Vignes (from 80- to 100-year-old vines) is a blend of 60% Grenache and the rest equal parts Syrah, Mourvedre, Cinsault, and Counoise aged in concrete tanks and old wood foudres. An effusively fruity, exuberant effort, it reveals plenty of juicy black currants and black cherries intermixed with lavender, licorice, incense, and forest floor. Full-bodied, dense, and seductive with silky tannins and a long, lush, opulent finish, it is impossible to resist at present, and should continue to evolve for 10-12+ years. (RP)" (10/2009)

It has fabulous purity, solid mid-palate concentration and great acidity. Drink it anytime over the coming decade or more. (JD)" (08/2014)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2003 Domaine du Pégaü "Cuvée Reservée" Châteauneuf-du-Pape (98RP, 97WS, 94ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: " Starting with the 2003 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee Reserve, this wine showed spectacularly on release, closed down for a few years, and has now emerged, at close to full maturity, and is straight-up fabulous. Out of the entire tasting, it remained my favorite. Giving up gorgeous blackberry, currants, garrigue, pepper and beef blood, it hits the palate with a massive, full-bodied texture that carries layers of sweet fruit, awesome concentration and blockbuster length. Tasting like the essence of both this estate and the terroir, it’s an incredible wine that I’m happy to taste/drink anytime. Dense ruby/purple-tinged with an exquisite nose of salty sea breezes, licorice, ground pepper, jammy black cherries, black currants, figs, and plums, this is a full-bodied, rich, Provencal-styled offering with lots of sweet, ripe tannin. Produced from four vineyard sites, l’Hermite, Les Murets, Les Greffieux, and Les Bessards, it boasts an amazingly thick purple color as well as a rich, sumptuous bouquet of smoke, licorice, creme de cassis, and earth.
