1989 Latour Pauillac
Bid on this bottle of 1989 Latour Pauillac (94WS). Wine Spectator: "This is so decadent and exciting on the nose, with very ripe fruit, tobacco, meat and cedar. Full-bodied, offering amazing raspberry fruit in the core of the palate. Ultrapolished, velvety tannins wonderfully coat every inch of your palate. This will age for years ahead, but it's so lovely now. Much better than many people think. (Web Only—2010)"

1996 Lynch-Bages, Pauillac
Bid on this bottle of 1996 Lynch-Bages, Pauillac (93RP, 92WS, 91ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1996 exhibits a dark plum/ruby/purple color that is just beginning to lighten at the edge, surprisingly velvety tannins and a classic Pauillac bouquet of lead pencil shavings, cedarwood, black currants, sweet cherries and spice box. This medium to full-bodied, elegant, savory, broad wine is still five years away from full maturity. It should continue to drink well for another 10-15 years." (08/2011)

2008 Montrose, St-Estèphe (1.5L)
Bid on this magnum of 2008 Montrose, St-Estèphe (1.5L) (95RP, 94JS, 94WE, 91WS, 90ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "One of the superstars of the vintage, this classic Montrose is not as showy or opulent as the 2010, 2009 or 2003, but it offers a dense purple color followed by gorgeously sweet black raspberry and black currant fruit intermixed with loamy, earthy, forest floor notes, a floral component and a long, full-bodied finish. The 2008 was fashioned from yields of 44 hectoliters per hectare which is slightly less than the 2010's 45 hectoliters per hectare. Forget it for 5-8 years and drink it over the following 20+. Bid on this bottle of 2005 Grand-Puy-Lacoste, Pauilliac (95RP, 93ST, 93WS, 90W&S). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The brilliant 2005 Grand-Puy-Lacoste exhibits classic Pauillac aromas and flavors of creme de cassis along with stony/floral notes. Proprietor Xavier Borie has created a wine that should rival the brilliant 1982, 1990, 1996, and 2000. Full-bodied with sweet tannin and superb length (a 40+ second finish), the purity of this beauty’s black currant fruit is something to behold. Anticipated maturity: 2013-2030. (RP)" (04/2008)

Bid on this bottle of 1975 Nenin, Pomerol. The 1975s were excellent in Pomerol, and although this wine is not professionally reviewed, the 1975 Pomerol vintage is rated 94 points and still "ready to drink" by Robert Parker's Wine Advocate. James Suckling gave this wine 90 points non-blind: "Aromas of black truffles, blackberries and plums with just a hint of flowers. Full and velvety with a delicious finish. Bid on this bottle of 1989 Angélus, St-Emilion (96RP, 95WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A great Angelus and one of the two or three best vintages made under the talented young Hubert de Bouard, this wine still has a youthful, saturated ruby/purple color and a sweet nose of melted licorice intermixed with creme de cassis, tapenade, cedar, spice box, and vanilla. Very full-bodied, opulent, and rich, it is one of the 1989s that justifies the lofty reputation of this vintage. Bid on this bottle of 1986 Cos d'Estournel, St-Estèphe (95RP, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Tasted 7 Times Since Bottling With Consistent Notes. The 1986 is a highly extracted wine, with a black/ruby color and plenty of toasty, smoky notes in its bouquet that suggest ripe plums and licorice. Evolving at a glacial pace, it exhibits massive, huge, ripe, extremely concentrated flavors with impressive depth and richness. It possesses more power, weight, and tannin than the more opulent and currently more charming 1985." (10/1994)

2003 Lafite-Rothschild, Pauillac
Bid on this bottle of 2003 Lafite-Rothschild, Pauillac (100RP, 97WE, 96JS, 96WS, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A modern day version of the 1959 Lafite, the 2003 Lafite Rothschild was bottled in mid-May, 2005 after achieving 12.9% natural alcohol - hardly an astonishing figure given the vintage's weather conditions. A combination of 86% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Merlot, 3% Cabernet Franc, and 2% Petit Verdot, it represents a ripe version of the essence of Lafite-Rothschild. Dense purple-colored, with classic notes of graphite intertwined with melted licorice, creme de cassis, smoke, and flowers, it reveals extraordinary richness, opulence, power, purity, intensity, and viscosity. Whether this wine will close down or not is questionable as it is somewhat atypical given its sweetness and softness." (04/2006)

Turns to sweet, crushed berries. Full-bodied, with very polished tannins and a berry and mineral aftertaste. The serious tannin structure is still hiding behind the fruit of the wine. Tightly wound and beautiful. Solid as a rock. A classic wine. (Web, 2009)"

1990 Haut-Marbuzet, St-Estèphe (1.5L)
Bid on this magnum of 1990 Haut-Marbuzet, St-Estèphe (1.5L). Michael Broadbent called 1990 a five-star vintage: "An excellent vintage with similar attributes to the '89 but certainly not an identical twin." 93 points Robert Parker: "The 1990 is a more classic, tannic, and concentrated example of Haut-Marbuzet. The wine displays a dark ruby/purple color, followed by a lavishly-oaked, vanillin, roasted nut, herb, and sweet, jammy blackcurrant, and olive-scented nose. Rich and opulent, with a thick, chewy texture, low acidity, and gobs of fruit, this hedonistic, decadently oaky, fruity wine will continue to drink well for 10-12 years. 2009 Pontet-Canet, Pauillac
Bid on this bottle of 2009 Pontet-Canet, Pauillac (100RP, 98JS, 96ST, 96WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "An amazing wine in every sense, this classic, full-bodied Pauillac is the quintessential Pontet Canet from proprietor Alfred Tesseron, who continues to reduce yields and farms his vineyards biodynamically a rarity in Bordeaux. Black as a moonless night, the 2009 Pontet Canet offers up notes of incense, graphite, smoke, licorice, creme de cassis and blackberries. A wine of irrefutable purity, laser-like precision, colossal weight and richness, and sensational freshness, this is a tour de force in winemaking that is capable of lasting 50 or more years. The tannins are elevated, but they are sweet and beautifully integrated as are the acidity, wood and alcohol (which must be in excess of 14%). This vineyard, which is situated on the high plateau of Pauillac adjacent to Mouton Rothschild, appears to have done everything perfectly in 2009. This cuvee should shut down in the cellar an

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: " Approaching full maturity, Pichon-Lalande’s1989 has a deep ruby/plum color with some lightening at the edge. The nose offers sweet plums and creme de cassis intermixed with vanilla and graphite. The wine is lush, medium to full-bodied, and layered with texture, low acidity, sweet tannin, and the hallmark purity and elegance this estate routinely produces. Made in a more floral, supple, Margaux-like style, the deep ruby/purple-hued 2004 Leoville Poyferre exhibits sweet, broad flavors, and plenty of tannin lurking beneath the surface. The 1993-95 vintages from Delon are brilliant wines. Leoville-Las-Cases remains one of the irrefutable reference points for high class Bordeaux. It will require many years to come around, so I suspect all of us past the age of fifty might want to give serious consideration as to whether we should be laying away multiple cases of this wine. It is also the first Lafite-Rothschild to be put into a new engraved bottle (designed to prevent fraudulent imitations). The wine exhibits a thick-looking, ruby/purple color, and a knock-out nose of lead pencil, minerals, flowers, and black currant scents. Extremely powerful and full-bodied, with remarkable complexity for such a young wine, this huge Lafite is oozing with extract and richness, yet has managed to preserve its quintessentially elegant personality. 2005 Ducru-Beaucaillou, St-Julien
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2005 Ducru-Beaucaillou, St-Julien (97RP, (94-96WE), 95JS, 95WS, 94ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2005 Ducru Beaucaillou is a 10,000-case blend of 67% Cabernet Sauvignon and 33% Merlot (they used to produce 18,000-20,000 cases). It is an exceptionally powerful wine with a dense purple color, superb intensity, and a beautiful, sweet nose of spring flowers, raspberries, blueberries, graphite, and creme de cassis. Full-bodied with fabulous concentration, exceptionally high tannin, good acidity, and massive layers of richness that build incrementally on the palate, this monumental effort is more structured than their outstanding 2003. It may be the finest wine produced at this estate since the 1982 and 1961 Ducrus. Anticipated maturity: 2018-2050." (04/2008)

2000 Brane-Cantenac, Margaux
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2000 Brane-Cantenac, Margaux (92JS, 92RP, 91WS, 90WE). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Fully mature and very attractive, the 2000 Brane Cantenac, which started a succession of brilliant wines from this famous estate in the Margaux appellation, has a dark plum/ruby/purple color, a sweet, juicy nose of blue, red, and black fruits, and a hint of damp earth as well as subtle herbs. Spicy, round, complex, very lush, and at its plateau of maturity, this wine should continue to drink well for another 10-15 years at minimum. This is Margaux elegance and silkiness at its very best..." (06/2010)

James Suckling: "This is a Bordeaux white from Mouton-Rothschild with the density and richness of a serious white Burgundy, but the sémillon in the blend gives it an exotic dried-fruit character, with plenty of pineapple and mango. Full and rich. Best ever from here. Decant now or hold for three or four years. 60% sauvignon blanc, 38% sémillon and 2% muscadelle. Drink or hold." (02/2014)

2003 La Mondotte, St-Emilion
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2003 La Mondotte, St-Emilion (96RP, 94WS, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: " A killer wine (I’m so sorry I didn’t buy any), the 2003 La Mondotte is clearly one of the superstars of the vintage. An intriguing perfume of licorice, Asian soy, black currant jam, ripe cherries and subtle toast emerges from this extravagantly rich, voluptuously textured, opulent, full-bodied St.-Emilion. Just coming in to full maturity, it is pure, rich and full. Drink it over the next decade or more. (RP)" (08/2014)

1990 Beausejour (Duffau-Lagarrosse), St-Emilion
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1990 Beausejour (Duffau-Lagarrosse), St-Emilion (100RP, 98WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "One of the most singular Bordeaux I have ever tasted, it verges on being port-like, but it pulls back because of the extraordinary minerality and laser-like focus. The wine is massively concentrated, still black/purple-hued to the rim, and offers a nose of incense, blackberries, blueberry liqueur, acacia flowers, and forest floor. It reveals low acidity and high tannins, which are largely concealed by the sheer concentration and lavish glycerin the wine possesses. Aging at a glacial pace, it is approachable, but it will not hit its peak until 2020; it should last for twenty years thereafter. (RP)" (06/2009)

1989 Lynch-Bages, Pauillac
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1989 Lynch-Bages, Pauillac (99RP, 96WS, 95ST, 94JS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1989 has taken forever to shed its formidable tannins, but what a great vintage of Lynch Bages! I would rank it at the top of the pyramid... Its dense purple color reveals a slight lightening at the edge and the stunning bouquet offers classic notes of creme de cassis, subtle smoke, oak and graphite. Powerful and rich with some tannins still to shed at age 22, it is still a young adolescent in terms of its evolutionand will benefit from another 4-5 years of cellaring. It should prove to be a 50 year wine. (RP)" (08/2011)
