2007 Domaine du Vieux Telegraphe "La Crau" Châteauneuf-du-Pape (1.5L)
Bid on this magnum of 2007 Domaine du Vieux Telegraphe "La Crau" Châteauneuf-du-Pape (1.5L) (96RP, 95WS, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2007 Vieux Telegraphe may be the greatest wine made at this property since the 2005 and 1998. Dense ruby/purple-tinged with an exquisite nose of salty sea breezes, licorice, ground pepper, jammy black cherries, black currants, figs, and plums, this is a full-bodied, rich, Provencal-styled offering with lots of sweet, ripe tannin. It is surprisingly accessible for a Vieux Telegraphe (this wine normally shuts down several years after bottling), but it should have great longevity (25+ years) given its power, full-bodied mouthfeel, and enormous length and richness. This is a brilliant effort from brothers Frederic and Daniel Brunier. (RP)" (10/2009)

2001 Domaine de la Mordorée "Cuvée de la Reine des Bois" Châteauneuf-du-Pape
Bid on this 9-bottle lot of 2001 Domaine de la Mordorée "Cuvée de la Reine des Bois" Châteauneuf-du-Pape (100RP, 94ST, 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: " More youthful and backwards, the 2001 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee de La Reine des Bois has been incredibly consistent for me and always comes in near the top of the scale. Black raspberry, blackberry, wood smoke, licorice, crushed rock-like minerality and smoked beef are just some of the nuances here, and it hits the palate with serious levels of fruit, thrilling structure and blockbuster length. It still needs another handful of years to hit full maturity, but its off-the-hook good today (assuming you’re not completely against tannin). (JD)" (08/2014)

2001 E. Guigal "Ex Voto" Ermitage
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2001 E. Guigal "Ex Voto" Ermitage ((94-96RP), (94-96ST), 95WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The debut release of the Hermitage Ex-Voto, the spectacular 2001 spent 42 months in new French oak. Produced from four vineyard sites, l’Hermite, Les Murets, Les Greffieux, and Les Bessards, it boasts an amazingly thick purple color as well as a rich, sumptuous bouquet of smoke, licorice, creme de cassis, and earth. Full-bodied and rich, with good acidity and magnificent concentration, this is a tour de force in red Hermitage. Given its high tannin and crisp acidity, it will require patience. Anticipated maturity: 2015-2040." (12/2004)

2012 Saxum "Terry Hoage" Paso Robles Rhône Blend
Bid on this bottle of 2012 Saxum "Terry Hoage" Paso Robles Rhône Blend (97RP, 92AG). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Just bottled five weeks ago, the 2012 Terry Hoage Vineyard (330 cases) is a thrilling blend of 51% Syrah, 31% Grenache and 18 % Mourvedre. It has an up front approachable and sexy feel in its cherry blossom and black raspberry fruit, crushed flowers and spice aromas and flavors. Full-bodied, concentrated and with sweet tannin, it’s the most ready-to-go in the lineup, yet will still have 10-12 years of longevity. (JD)" (08/2014)

This stunningly concentrated, full-bodied, rich wine takes Cote Rotie to a new quality level." (02/2006)

2007 Clos des Papes Châteauneuf-du-Pape
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2007 Clos des Papes Châteauneuf-du-Pape (99RP, 97WS, 95ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "It is unquestionably one of the great Chateauneufs of my lifetime...Wow, what potential complexity, mind-boggling richness, and compelling flavor profile are apparent. It is a sublime expression of the art of winemaking as evidenced by its dense purple color and big, sweet kiss of kirsch, framboise, blackberries, licorice, roasted herbs, and smoked meat. It hits the palate with a fascinating combination of substance, power, full-bodied authority yet extraordinary freshness, elegance, and precision. Give it 3-4 years of cellaring, and watch it unleash its glory over the next three decades. This is a prodigious wine of great quality from one of the most important reference point estates in Chateauneuf du Pape. 99+ (RP)" (10/2009)

2009 Saxum "James Berry Vineyard" Paso Robles Rhône Blend
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2009 Saxum "James Berry Vineyard" Paso Robles Rhône Blend (98RP, 97JS, 97WS, 96ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Simply put, the 2009 James Berry Vineyard is one of the greatest young wines I have ever tasted from California, or anywhere for that matter. Bright, floral aromatics lead to expressive red fruit in this impossibly elegant, dazzling wine. A melange of rose petals, mint and licorice follows as the James Berry shows off its breathtaking clarity and finesse. Fine-grained, chalky tannins frame the exceptional finish. Frankly, I am surprised this is the first wine of the tasting. Where does one go from here? (AG)" (08/2011)

2006 Clos des Papes Châteauneuf-du-Pape
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2006 Clos des Papes Châteauneuf-du-Pape (98RP, 95ST, 95WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2006 Chateauneuf du Pape is one of the two or three candidates for the wine of the vintage. An extraordinarily great wine, the 2006 is far superior to the 2005, which was amazing, and while made in a different style, is as great as the 2003, and such legends as 1990 and 1978. Fashioned from a minuscule 21 hectoliters per hectare, and tipping the scales at 15.2% natural alcohol, the 2006 boasts a dense ruby/purple color to the rim, in addition to an extraordinary bouquet of melted licorice, spring flowers, raspberries, black currants, spice box, and earth. In the mouth, it is utterly profound – full-bodied and multidimensional with astonishing purity, length, equilibrium, and intensity. This is a superb vintage for the Avrils, and Vincent deserves huge accolades for producing a wine of such incredible intensity and complexity. Think of Clos des Papes as a Chateaune

1989 Chateau de Fonsalette "Réserve" Côtes-du-Rhône
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1989 Chateau de Fonsalette "Réserve" Côtes-du-Rhône (92RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1989 Fonsalette Cotes du Rhone is a beautifully made, seductive mouthful of wine. It is all velvet and silk, and there is a whopping degree of alcohol in the finish. Along with the huge 1990, it appears to be the finest Fonsalette since the late 1970s. The tannin is soft and the acidity is low, yet the wine's concentration and magical flavors (over-ripe, jammy cherries, truffles, grilled meats, and thyme) are dazzling. Drink it over the next 10-12 years. (RP)" (02/1996)

2009 Mas de Boislauzon "Cuvee de Quet" Châteauneuf-du-Pape
Bid on this bottle of 2009 Mas de Boislauzon "Cuvee de Quet" Châteauneuf-du-Pape (96RP, 94WS, 90ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee du Quet (80% tank-aged Grenache and 20% small barrel-aged Mourvedre from 60-year-old vines) is spectacular. Its dense purple color is accompanied by an exquisite bouquet of boysenberries, mulberries, blueberries and other wild mountain blue and black fruits. Possessing great intensity, a full-bodied mouthfeel and superb purity, it is a singular expression of old vine Grenache blended with Mourvedre. The finish lasts for 50+ seconds, and the wine has a skyscraper-like texture as well as a multidimensional set of aromatics and flavors. This brilliant offering is more evolved and forward than either the 2007 or 2010. (RP)"

2012 Saxum "James Berry Vineyard" Paso Robles Rhône Blend
Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2012 Saxum "James Berry Vineyard" Paso Robles Rhône Blend (97RP, 94AG). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "There are 1,580 cases of the 2012 James Berry Vineyard and it reminds me of the 2009 Janasse Chaupin (which is one of Justin’s favorite wines). Incorporating more Mourvedre than normal, it’s made from 43% Grenache, 29% Mourvedre, 18% Syrah and 10% Counoise that’s aged in a combination of concrete and barrel. Rock star stuff, with fabulous black raspberry, cassis, spring flowers and charred meat aromas and flavors, this beauty hits the palate with full-bodied richness and depth, yet stays lively, incredibly pure and elegant, with lots of fine tannin emerging on the finish. It will benefit from 2-3 years in the cellar and have 15-20 years of ultimate longevity. (JD)" (08/2014)

2010 Saxum "James Berry Vineyard" Paso Robles Rhône Blend
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2010 Saxum "James Berry Vineyard" Paso Robles Rhône Blend (97RP, 94ST, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Sporting a vibrant ruby, semi-opaque color, the 2010 James Berry Vineyard is the most tight, backward version of this cuvee that I can recall. A blend of 52% Grenache, 26% Mourvedre, and 22% Syrah, it has a decidedly savory bouquet of blackberry liqueur, kirsch, violets, bouquet garni, ground pepper, and graphite. Full-bodied and layered on the palate, with brilliant mid-palate concentration, superb freshness, and masses of tannin, this brilliant Rhone blend from Paso Robles will stand toe-to-toe with the best wines out there, but it is not for those seeking instant gratification and will require 4-5 years of bottle age. In 2010, the Grenache component was aged in a combination of concrete tank and oak puncheons, and this shows in both the aromatics and texture, with less obvious sweetness and more freshness. It will evolve gracefully for two decades

2000 Pierre Usseglio "Mon Aieul" Châteauneuf-du-Pape (1.5L)
Bid on this magnum of 2000 Pierre Usseglio "Mon Aieul" Châteauneuf-du-Pape (1.5L) (95RP, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The profound 2000 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee de Mon Aieul (85% Grenache and the rest equal parts Syrah, Mourvedre, and Cinsault) tips the scales at 15% alcohol. From an old vineyard and cropped at 15 hectoliters per hectare, and aged only in foudre, it boasts a dense purple color in addition to an exquisite nose of violets, minerals, blueberries and blackberries. Pure and concentrated, but atypically tannic, it requires considerable aging as it is one of the vintage's more backward, broodingly powerful efforts. Anticipated maturity: 2006-2020." (02/2003)
