Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2010 Chateau Montelena "Estate" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (OWC - 94AG, 94ST, 93JS, 91RP, 91WS) in original wood. Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Bright, saturated ruby-red. Deep, complex nose offers cassis, blueberry, mocha, espresso, menthol, bitter chocolate and tobacco. Densely packed and vibrant, with layered, seamless flavors of cassis, licorice and minerals. Shows an almost chocolatey ripeness yet retains outstanding verve. This chewy, superconcentrated wine finishes with ripe, pliant tannins and outstanding length and mineral reserve. Should be long-lived. 94(+?) points." (06/2013)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2010 Caymus "Special Selection" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (OWC - 98RP, 96WS, 93AG, 92W&S) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Special Selection exhibits an opaque purple color, slightly more toasty oak in the aromatics, and explosive richness on the attack, mid-palate and length. The nose is slightly more restrained than in the regular bottling, but there is no doubting the Special Selection is a cut or two above the Napa bottling when it hits the palate. Extraordinary purity of fruit, creme de cassis, licorice and incense all emerge from this full-bodied, iconic classic. It can be enjoyed now and over the next 25+ years. (RP)" (10/2013)

Supple and juicy at first, the 2010 has plenty of underlying structure. Rose petals, violets, new leather and a hint of orange peel appear on an exotic, perfumed finish laced with veins if dark red and blue fruits." (11/2013)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Moving to the Grenache-driven efforts, the 2012 Grenache Stein incorporates 16% Syrah and 8% Mourvedre. Aged 22 months in mostly used oak (various sizes), it offers awesome purity and freshness in its black raspberry, cassis, ground herbs, white pepper and licorice-driven bouquet. The palate follows suite and is full-bodied, deeply concentrated and layered, with fabulous precision and length. This is blockbuster stuff that will have two decades of longevity. (JD)" (08/2014)

Antonio Galloni: "A wine that takes over all the senses, Dunn's 1994 Cabernet Sauvignon Howell Mountain is a drop-dead gorgeous beauty. New leather, smoke and spices are some of the many notes that develop in the glass, adding complexity and character. This is an especially powerful, brooding vintage for the Howell Mountain. All the elements fall into place effortlessly. The 1994 is rich, broad, ample and incredibly expressive today. What a wine. " (02/2014)

2012 Martinelli "Blue Slide Ridge" Fort Ross-Seaview Pinot Noir
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2012 Martinelli "Blue Slide Ridge" Fort Ross-Seaview Pinot Noir (95RP, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "From the estate’s grand cru vineyard, the 2012 Pinot Noir Blue Slide Ridge comes from a site planted in 1995 with Dijon clones 667, 777, 115, Pommard and Clone X which was sourced from Helen Turley and John Wetlaufer. It’s a big wine with 15.2% natural alcohol. Stunning aromas of forest floor, mulberries, blueberries and blackcurrants soar from the glass of this deep ruby/purple-tinged Pinot Noir. Full-bodied and voluptuous, this stunner should drink well for 10-15 years. Sadly, only 234 cases were produced. (RP)" (12/2014)

2009 Harlan "The Maiden" Napa Valley Proprietary Red

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Proprietary Blend The Maiden wraps around the palate with dark cherries, plums, cinnamon, cloves and new leather. This is a surprisingly muscular style for the year, with quite a bit less of the early appeal than is found in many other wines. The aromas and flavors remain dark, powerful and brooding from start to finish. Flowers, cinnamon and mint add further complexity on the finish. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2024. "

1985 Joseph Phelps "Eisele" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 1985 Joseph Phelps "Eisele" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (93RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The backward 1985 Eisele Vineyard is marvelously concentrated, but extremely tannic and at least 5-10 years away from full maturity. Impressively endowed, well-focused, dense, powerful, thick, and tannic, this wine leaves little doubt that the extract, ripeness, and quantity of fruit are more than sufficient to balance out the wine's tannic ferocity. This is a huge, massive, stunningly proportioned Cabernet Sauvignon that should hit its stride by the turn of the century and last for two decades. (RP)" (04/1995)

2007 Marcassin "Marcassin Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir
Bid on this bottle of 2007 Marcassin "Marcassin Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir (98RP, 96WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: " I had always believed the 2007 Pinot Noir was the finest Helen Turley and John Wetlaufer had produced at their Estate Vineyard, but after doing this vertical and seeing the performances of the 1998, 2002 and 2004, that belief rings somewhat hollow. The still young, incredible 2007 has all the potential needed to achieve a three-digit rating in a few years. A dense plum/purple color is followed by notes of subtle smoke, barbecue spice, blueberries, red and black currants, flowers, and a smoky meat-like character that I first compared to the aroma of Peking duck. There is something exotic about this full-bodied, dense 2007. Young and vibrant, it should hit its peak in 5-6 years, and last until 2030-2035. This world-class, prodigious Pinot Noir is probably better than 90% of the red Burgundies being produced. 98+ (RP)" (06/2014)

Of the 2010 Linne Calodo "Problem Child" Paso Robles Red Blend,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "I very much like the way the 2010 Problem Child achieves tons of richness, but no sense of heaviness at all. Juicy dark cherries, hard candy, flowers, mint and sweet spices are all woven together in a fabric of notable class. Floral notes reappear on a sweet, perfumed finish buffered by lively acidity. Once again, there is plenty of depth, but little in the way of excess weight. This is a striking effort from Matt Trevisan. Of the 2005 Sine Qua Non Atlantis FE 203-3e Roussanne Vin de Paille,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "The 2005 Atlantis Fe 203-3e Roussanne Vin de Paille is a 100% Roussanne cuvee possessing 352 grams of residual sugar per liter. While it is a stunning effort, when tasted next to the two Mr. K. whites, it comes in slightly below those two out-of-this-world offerings. Incredible aromas of honeysuckle and marmalade are classic late-harvest Roussanne, and the wine’s sweet style is beautifully balanced by terrific acidity (12.5 grams of acid per liter). " (06/2008)

Bid on this bottle of 2013 Aubert "Eastside Vineyard" Russian River Valley Chardonnay ((98-100RP), 95AG). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2013 Chardonnay East Side (1,000 cases produced) comes from a vineyard owned by Ulises Valdez and planted with the Montrachet clone. It is the rockiest site in the Aubert portfolio. Amazingly, it sees 100% new oak, but you would never know that from smelling or tasting the wine. Copious aromas of wet rocks, almond paste, honeysuckle, pineapple and white peach are followed by a full-bodied, stunningly rich yet crisp, vibrant, zesty Chardonnay that should drink well for a minimum of 10 years. 2011 Black Kite "Stony Terrace" Anderson Valley Pinot Noir
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2011 Black Kite "Stony Terrace" Anderson Valley Pinot Noir. Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Notable ripe purple and blue fruit aromas display lovely spice and tea nuances. There is excellent size, weight and power to the concentrated medium weight plus flavors that also possess a very suave and rounded mouth feel before culminating in a dusty and lingering finish. This is a big and muscular wine that won't win any awards for refinement but it certainly makes a statement. Note that those who enjoy power pinot will find this to their taste as it offers plenty of character but without the elevated alcohols levels that many examples of the genre often display."

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2011 Paul Lato "The Prospect - Sierra Madre Vineyard" Santa Maria Valley Pinot Noir (95RP, 92ST, 91AG). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2011 Pinot Noir Prospect Sierra Madre Vineyard, which comes from 15-year-old vines, was fully destemmed and aged on lees for a year before being moved to 50% new French oak for 15 months. Brilliantly styled, with bright black cherry, blueberry, hints of leather, forest floor and edgy minerality, it is totally thrilling on the palate and has medium-bodied richness, great mid-palate depth and a seamless, pure texture. 2011 Ovid Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2011 Ovid Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (95AG, 93ST). Antonio Galloni: "The 2011 Ovid is super-silky, finessed and beautiful. There is a bit less resonance and depth relative to most vintages, but the 2011 makes up for that with its aromatic complexity, pure expressiveness and long, resonant finish. With time in the glass, the spiced and floral notes become more apparent. The delicate, perfumed finish rounds things out beautifully. The 2011 is 81% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Cabernet Franc, 4% Merlot and 2% Petit Verdot, which is more Cabernet Sauvignon and less Franc than is usually the case. This is another striking wine from Ovid. " (11/2013)

Juicy and expansive, with impressive clarity and power to its dark berry and floral pastille flavors. Finishes with excellent floral lift and striking persistence. This pinot, which was made from fruit that was sorted three times according to Morlet, offers a very suave blend of richness and vivacity." (05/2013)

Bid on this bottle of 2005 Shafer "Hillside Select" Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon (99RP, (94-97ST), 94JS, 94W&S, 93CG, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Like many 2005s (I’ll be doing a retrospective of this vintage in several months and look forward to it), this was a vintage that seemed to start off relatively uneventfully and was rather slow to reveal its true merit early in life. Like a thoroughbred race horse, it just seemed to get stronger and stronger in barrel, and now that the wines have been in bottle, they continue to strut their stuff. Of course, 2004 got much more publicity because of the heat, and after 2001 and 2002, there weren’t a lot of superlatives left to give, but 2005 has turned out to be a great vintage and the 2005 Shafer Cabernet Sauvignon Hillside Select is certainly one of the superstars of the vintage." Bid on this bottle of 2004 Kistler "Cuvée Elizabeth-Bodega Headlands" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir ((96-98RP)). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Bordering on perfection, the 2004 Pinot Noir Bodega Headlands (from Kistler’s new vineyard planted on the Sonoma Coast) offers up sweet plum, forest floor, and violet scents along with a La Tache-like, ethereal, floral, and black raspberry-like character. This prodigious, deep ruby/purple-colored Pinot possesses fabulous concentration as well as a layered, multidimensional palate, wonderful fruit, sweet tannin, and good acidity. It should age beautifully for 10-12 years. Interestingly, Steve Kistler planted this vineyard with the old Calera clone, which is rumored to be a suitcase clone pulled out of the Domaine de la Romanee-Conti grand cru vineyards." (12/2005)

Layers of exotic black fruit, spices, mocha and espresso burst onto the palate with striking depth, power and richness. There is an immediacy to the 2010 that is simply compelling. No longer a true second wine, Altagracia now also includes a small amount of purchased fruit and is being crafted to stand on its own. The 2010 achieves that, and so much more. It boasts a dense ruby/purple color along with a sweet bouquet of lead pencil shavings, black currants and a hint of toasty oak. More evolved than usual, this full-bodied, opulent 2004 is part of the new wave of Opus Ones made under the administration of Philippe Dhalluin, the administrator of Mouton Rothschild, who has begun to exploit this estate’s enormous potential. 2004 Maybach Family "Materium" Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 2004 Maybach Family "Materium" Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon (95RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Named after the famed luxury car, Maybach has none other than Thomas Brown as its winemaker, who produced this debut vintage of 340 cases from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from a single-parcel on the Silverado Trail in the Oakville sector. This is a deadly serious wine, and when compared to the price of a Maybach car, a great value. A beautifully sculptured style of wine with deep purple color, with a sweet nose of creme de cassis, pain grille, spice box, and loamy soil notes, the wine has fabulous intensity, great purity (as one might expect given the winemaker), sweet silky tannins, and a terrific finish of close to 50 seconds. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Levy and McClellan's 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon, which spent 26 months in new oak (mostly Taransaud), is developing at an incredibly slow rate. Its opaque ruby/purple color is accompanied by beautiful aromas of roasted coffee, melted chocolate, creme de cassis, burning embers, camphor, and a hint of cedar. On the palate, the wine combines considerable substance, power, and extract with a sense of harmony as well as elegance. Black currant, blackberry, and gamy, meaty notes are also present in this full-bodied effort with an incredibly long finish. The wine is just beginning to shed some tannin and become accessible. It will benefit from another 4-5 years of bottle age, and will easily last for three decades or more. " (12/2008)

2001 Whitehall Lane "Leonardini" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 2001 Whitehall Lane "Leonardini" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (91RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "More of a long distance runner is the 2001 Cabernet Sauvignon Leonardini Vineyard. This wine still shows plenty of oak and notes of new saddle leather intermixed with graphite and black currants in a structured, full-bodied, youthful, almost infantile stage of development. I can’t imagine this wine has moved much from its post-bottling days. It still needs another 5-6 years of cellaring, and should keep for at least 20+ years. (RP)" (06/2011)

2010 Forman Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2010 Forman Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (98RP, 94ST, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Just as impressive from bottle as it was from barrel, the 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon jumps from the glass with an exotic, beguiling melange of violets, cassis, spices and menthol. Layers of fruit supported by vivid, beautifully articulated tannins cover every inch of the palate. Rich and powerful, the 2010 never abandons its classic sense of structure. Today, the 2010 is a bit compact, but time should prove to be very beneficial in releasing the wine’s true potential. There is absolutely nothing out of place in this majestic Cabernet Sauvignon. The tannins are virtually imperceptible, as is the new oak. The long growing season produced a wine that is among the finest of the vintage. This is an unforgettable wine from Ric Forman. Anticipated maturity: 2016-2035. (AG)" (12/2012)

2004 Pahlmeyer Napa Valley Proprietary Red (1.5L)
Bid on this magnum of 2004 Pahlmeyer Napa Valley Proprietary Red (1.5L) (98RP, 92ST, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Composed of 79% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc, 4% Petit Verdot and 1% Malbec, the saturated purple-colored 2004 Proprietary Red Wine is a wonderful monster in the making. It boasts a dense purple color as well as notes of beef blood, creme de cassis, licorice, incense and spring flowers. It looks more like a 2-year-old wine than one that has seen its tenth birthday. Mouth-coating, unctuously textured, corpulent but well-delineated, this is a spectacular Proprietary Red that is even greater than I remember it in its youth. Bravo to Jayson Pahlmeyer (I believe his winemaker at the time was Erin Green) for this dynamic duo of 2004s." (04/2014)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2009 Cobb "Rice Spivak Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir (93RP, 93ST, 90BH). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Pinot Noir Rice-Spivak Vineyard emerges from the glass with dark red cherries, flowers, mint, licorice and minerals. This is a tightly wound, more focused Pinot than the Emmaline Ann. Firm yet well-integrated tannins and bright acidity give the wine its focus and drive. Ross Cobb used 20-25% whole clusters here. This is a very, very beautiful wine. Anticipated maturity: 2013-2019. (AG) " (02/2012)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Luc Morlet’s 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Coeur de Vallée is a 300-case blend of 75% Cabernet Sauvignon and 25% Cabernet Franc from the Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard. A mindblowing effort, it offers up notes of mocha, forest floor, blueberries, blackcurrants, asphalt and licorice. Full-bodied and opulent, this sensational 2012 is one of the vintage’s superstars. 2002 Revana Family Vineyard St. Helena Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2002 Revana Family Vineyard St. Helena Cabernet Sauvignon (95CG, 92WS, 91RP). Connoisseurs Guide: "Here is a deep and wonderfully concentrated young Cabernet that is long on showy oak but is directed first and foremost by its very deep and confident curranty fruit. It is full and fleshy in feel with carefully integrated tannins lending structure without undue toughness, and both its balance and real sense of fruity reserve make a strong and compelling case for five to ten years of steady improvement. Some may find its reliance on ripeness a bit more than they like, but if you are a seeker of depth and precise character, then this beauty is going to taste as good as it can get in the variety." 1999 Abreu "Madrona Ranch" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 1999 Abreu "Madrona Ranch" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (93RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1999 Cabernet Sauvignon Madrona Ranch (90% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Cabernet Franc, and 5% Merlot) exhibits a saturated purple color in addition to a gorgeous bouquet of espresso beans intermixed with licorice, incense, blueberries and blackberries. There is more tannin in the unusually austere finish, but the wine is remarkably complex, and should be exceptionally long-lived. There are 500 cases of this beauty, which should be at its finest between 2006-2025." (08/2002)

Of the 2005 Silver Oak Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon,Wine & Spirits writes: "A classic Alexander Valley cabernet, this is dark and cedary, and as smooth as velvet. The tannins last, built on black cherry-skin flavor and earthy, root-vegetable notes. With time, that black cherry flavor should become more prominent, balancing the wine's earthy complexities." Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2006 Zinfandel Dusi Vineyard, another Paso Robles site, is a whopper at 16.4% alcohol, but has terrific fruit, slightly caramelized Amarone-like licorice, tar, and blackberry fruit, with decent acidity and a full-bodied mouthfeel with high glycerin." 2005 Winter Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

A striking, inky/ruby/purple color offers up notes of black currants, licorice, graphite, forest floor, and spice box. Flawlessly constructed with sweet tannin, good acidity, and superb purity, this is a tour de force in winemaking. 2004 Cardinale Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 2004 Cardinale Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (96RP, 91ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Winemaker Chris Carpenter has turned out a brilliant wine that’s a blend of 91% Cabernet Sauvignon and 9% Merlot, from the To-Kalon, Taylor, Veeder Peak and Keyes vineyards, so this is definitely a cross-Napa Valley offering. This wine has an opaque purple color, a big sweet kiss of licorice, incense, lead pencil shavings and a boatload of creme de cassis and blueberry liqueur. Tannins are present, but ripe, and the wine is voluptuously textured and full-bodied, with stunning purity and stature on the palate. This is one serious, yet approachable, proprietary red that can be drunk now, or cellared for another 10-15+ years. (RP)" (04/2014)

2006 Dunn Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2006 Dunn Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon (95RP, 92ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon Howell Mountain is big, dark and juicy. There is an element of wildness that runs through the wine. Graphite, licorice, tar and smoke are just some of the nuances that add complexity. The 2006 boasts superb purity from start to finish. Elements of fleshiness give the impression the 2006 might drink well relatively early, until the massive tannins set in. Floral notes add freshness on the finish. This is another fabulous wine from Randy Dunn. Anticipated maturity: 2016-2036. (AG)" (12/2011)

Bid on this bottle of 2007 Continuum Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (98RP, 97WE, 97WS, 94ST, 93JS, 91CG). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A glorious blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 22% Cabernet Franc and 18% Petit Verdot, it boasts an inky/purple color as well as an extraordinary perfume of blueberries, blackberries, spring flowers and subtle hints of burning embers and earth. Akin to the seamlessness of haute couture from the likes of Chanel, the integration of acidity, tannin, alcohol and wood has been brilliantly accomplished by Mondavi. This textured, opulent, full-bodied wine cuts a lacy, graceful texture across the palate. A tour de force in winemaking, it is a profound wine from someone who has been front and center during the golden age of California Cabernet Sauvignon as well as the revolution in quality begun by his father. Drinkable now, drinkable in ten years and exquisite in two decades, it is not to be missed. (RP)" (12/2010)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2008 Kapcsandy Family "Grand Vin - State Lane Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (100RP, 94JS, 94ST, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Another perfect wine (identical to the 2007) is the 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon Grand Vin State Lane Vineyard. Composed of 87% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot (430 cases produced), this is an exquisite wine of great precision and profound concentration and complexity. It possesses an inky/purple color in addition to an ethereal nose of cassis, chocolate, burning embers, espresso and forest floor. Sweet tannins, a multidimensional mouthfeel, full-bodied power and good structure as well as freshness make for a prodigious example of wine that will benefit from 4-5 years of cellaring, but will keep for 25-30 years. This is an awesome effort, particularly after what the Kapcsandy family achieved in 2007. As I have written many times over the last several years, the Kapcsandy estate, w

This is Clone 4 and Clone 6, as well as Clone 337, blended together from the Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard, aged in 100% new Darnajou barrels. For whatever reason, this wine seems to show more chocolate, espresso roast, barbecue smoke, dense blackberry and blueberry fruit and enormous body with not a touch of heaviness or astringency. This is a fabulous offering. It should drink well for 20-25 years. (RP)" (10/2014)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The brilliant 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon boasts an inky/purple color as well as glorious aromas of spring flowers, lead pencil shavings, licorice and a multitude of wild mountain fruits, in particular black raspberry, blackberry and cassis reminiscent of a French Pauillac (although I always think of Spottswoode as the Chateau Margaux of Napa). With a flawless integration of tannin, wood and acidity, it comes across like a liquid version of haute couture from the house of Chanel. It should drink well young yet age for 25 years. It cuts a bigger swath across the palate than the Merlot, but with no hard edges. Deeply textured and multidimensional with loads of fruit as well as a flawless integration of acidity, alcohol, tannin and wood, this medium to full-bodied, classic Blankiet should continue to drink well for another 15-20 years.
