2007 Joseph Swan "Trenton Estate" Russian River Valley Syrah

90 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Opaque ruby. Black and blue fruits on the nose, complicated by notes of black cardamom and candied violet. Spicy and precise on entry, then fleshier in the mid-palate, offering sweet blackberry and boysenberry flavors lifted by zesty acidity. The smoky, sweet, clinging finish leaves a note of cracked pepper behind." (5/2012)90 points Wine Enthusiast: "This is a notable wine for its smooth, supple tannins and its intense flavors of black cherry jam, mocha, bacon, black pepper and sandalwood. 2007 Clendenen "Le Pip" Santa Maria Valley Nebbiolo

Made from Jim Clendenen's estate vineyards, the Au Bon Climat winemaker's Clendenen Family wines also get the most attention for Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Nebbiolo, the noble grape of Barolo and Barbaresco, has had a very uneven record in California. But if there's any California Nebbiolo worth beginning the exploration with, it has to be one from the Central Coast, and this very renowned and talented winemaker.

2007 Heitz Cellar "Trailside Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

92 points James Suckling: "A wine with lovely restraint with plums, blueberries and hints of tobacco. Earthy. Full and silky and long. Lovely length. Juicy and delicious. Needs a year or two to come together." (5/2013) Wine Spectator: "A rustic stye that presents a dried berry, leathery, crushed rock and dried herb-anise profile. Slowly gains depth, maintaining a firm tannic backbone. Drink now through 2022. 2007 MacPhail "Ferrington Vineyard" Anderson Valley Pinot Noir

94 points Wine Enthusiast: "MacPhail continues its string of super 2007 vineyard-designated Pinots with this compact, fine young release. It’s a bit tight now in acids and tannins, but shows a warm, sweet heart of cherries, raspberries and cola that should emerge with a few years in the cellar. Just beautiful. " (112/09) 91 points Wine Spectator: "Elegantly styled, offering ripe, delicate plum, black cherry, wild berry and raspberry fruit, with hints of rose petal and mineral. 2007 Calera "Ryan" Mt. Harlan Pinot Noir

93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "From one of the property’s coolest sites, the 2007 Pinot Noir Ryan Vineyard reveals nearly overwhelming notes of sassafras, root vegetables, plums, red currants, and raspberries. It is a spicy, earthy effort with an autumnal-like herbaceousness. Aged 17 months in French oak (30% new), it is a Pinot Noir for those who prefer that varietal’s spicy, stemmy, earthy side. Nevertheless, there is still plenty of fruit in this complex, singular cuvee." (08/10) 93 points Wine Enthusiast: "This is one of the most forward and accessible of Calera's new releases. 2007 Chateau Montelena Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The dark ruby-colored 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa exhibits abundant aromas of earthy, berry fruit intermixed with black currants, tobacco leaf and spice. Enjoy this medium-bodied, supple, seductive Cabernet over the next 7-10 years." (12/2010) Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Deep ruby. Medicinal blackberry and licorice on the nose, plus a whiff of band-aid. Its full-bodied, luscious finish exhibits a subtle note of oak. The considerable tannins will protect it in the cellar for a good 6-8 years, but it's so fresh and vibrant in cherries, red currants and oak-inspired red licorice that it's hard not to drink it now. Hard to exaggerate the deliciousness factor." (3/2010)90 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Vivid red. Expressive aromas of cherry compote, blackberry, licorice and smoky herbs. It will be another legend for Petite Sirah..." (12/09) 92 points Wine Spectator: "Extremely dense, with a chunky mouthful of black cherry, blackberry and dried fig flavors that are accented with toasted nut, pepper and dark chocolate details. Wrapped up in velvety, thick tannins, full of intensity and detail." (2011) 91 points Stephen Tanzer: "Opaque ruby-blue color. Brooding aromas of black fruits and licorice. 2007 Opus One Napa Valley Proprietary Red

Kirsch, rose petals, pomegranates and spices form a fabric of compelling beauty. The 2007 is rich, sumptuous and generous, just as it should be. Threads of striking perfume are woven throughout, adding aromatic lift and pure sensuality. It leads with the deep and downright succulent aromas of wonderfully pure cherry-like fruit that mark the best of its district, and, even if a little tight in construction, it shows fruity substance to spare and its precise, well-extracted flavors go on and on. The extraordinary intensity, purity and depth in this rich, flamboyant, exuberant wine are mindboggling. This bigger-than-life Cabernet Sauvignon appears set for 20-30 years of aging. This full-bodied, classic Insignia reveals fabulous depth, ripeness, texture, viscosity and richness. Still young and unformed, it should evolve for 25 or more years. 2007 Marcassin "Marcassin Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir
Bid on this bottle of 2007 Marcassin "Marcassin Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir (98RP, 96WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: " I had always believed the 2007 Pinot Noir was the finest Helen Turley and John Wetlaufer had produced at their Estate Vineyard, but after doing this vertical and seeing the performances of the 1998, 2002 and 2004, that belief rings somewhat hollow. The still young, incredible 2007 has all the potential needed to achieve a three-digit rating in a few years. A dense plum/purple color is followed by notes of subtle smoke, barbecue spice, blueberries, red and black currants, flowers, and a smoky meat-like character that I first compared to the aroma of Peking duck. There is something exotic about this full-bodied, dense 2007. Young and vibrant, it should hit its peak in 5-6 years, and last until 2030-2035. Its opaque purple color is accompanied by gorgeously complex aromas of melted chocolate, espresso roast, blackberries, and cassis. Full-bodied with a superb texture, a subtle note of oak, and fabulous concentration, it is more reminiscent of a Right Bank Bordeaux than one expects with this much Cabernet Sauvignon in the blend. Like all of these wines, there is a seamless integration of acidity, wood, and tannin, all of it present in subtle and measured dosages. The sweetness of the plum, meaty, black currant fruit intermixed with cherries, boysenberry, forest floor, and floral notes is nothing short of awesome. 2007 Flowers "Camp Meeting Ridge" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir

91 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "*Outstanding* An exceptionally pretty nose features notes of fresh cranberry and strawberry yet there is good breadth and depth to the fruit and this depth continues as the detailed and obviously mineral-infused flavors possess excellent balance and fine length. This is a genuinely lovely effort and despite the expressiveness of the nose, it's actually relatively understated in the mouth. While 45 minutes in a decanter will render this approachable now, the balance should enable it to age well." (10/2009) Wine Spectator: "Tight and edgy, with firm mineral, dusty berry, sag ...Read More »

Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre and Counoise. Drink now through 2017. 450 cases made." (03/10) 90 points Robert Parker: "The dark ruby/garnet-hued 2007 Pax Cellars Cuvee Moriah (80% Grenache and the rest Syrah, Mourvedre, and Counoise) exhibits kirsch liqueur, pepper, lavender, licorice, and damp earth characteristics. This medium-bodied, Rhone-styled red should drink nicely... Read More »

2007 Brewer-Clifton "Rancho Santa Rosa" Santa Barbara County Chardonnay

94 points from Robert Parker: "The sensational 2007 Chardonnay Rancho Santa Rosa exhibits a light to medium gold color, notes of white peaches, quince, crushed rocks, honeysuckle, and marmalade, a sensational texture, and a full-bodied mouthfeel. Crisp acidity buttresses the wine’s weight, providing terrific delineation and purity. Two brilliant young winemakers, Greg Brewer and Steve Clifton, are symbolic of both the present and future of California high quality wine production. Seemingly coming out of nowhere, with their own personal visions of wine q... Read More »

2007 Harlan Estate Napa Valley Proprietary Red
Bid on this bottle of 2007 Harlan Estate Napa Valley Proprietary Red (100RP, 97JS, 97ST, 96WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The prodigious 2007 Harlan Estate reminds me of a hypothetical blend of the 2002 with a touch of the controversial 1997. Dense plum/purple-colored with sweet aromas of barbecue smoke, blueberries, blackberries, cassis, licorice, hot rocks and subtle oak, it is a splendidly opulent, pure wine with a skyscraper-like texture as well as stunningly deep fruit that expands gracefully across the palate. The finish lasts nearly a full minute. Because of its overwhelming richness and sweet tannins, this brilliant wine seems to be approachable now, but I suspect further nuances and complexity will emerge after 4-5 years in the bottle. This wine will still be going strong at age 25-30."
