2011 Domaine Dauvissat-Camus (René & Vincent) Chablis 1er Cru "La Forest"

94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A brothy sense of richness to Vincent Dauvissat's 2011 Chablis La Forest evokes stock of chicken, clams and mussels, something that would count as utterly anomalous in wine from any other wine region. Chalk segues into white pepper, which, along with a bitter edge of dried herbs, makes for invigorating tactile impingement, even though there is an underlying hint of creaminess to the palpably lees-enriched mid-palate. Similarly, a light lemon freshness complements the richness of this peppery, pungent chowder of Chablis. The finish here milks my salivary ...Read More »

2012 Domaine Anne & Arnaud Goisot Saint-Bris (Sauvignon)

Saint Bris les Vineux is a village with its own appellation, producing the only Sauvignon Blanc-based white Burgundy. It used to be called Sauvignon de Saint Bris, but since they received an official appellation a few years ago, it is now just Saint Bris, AOC. Anne and Arnauld Goisot are not only the proprietors of this domaine, they do most everything. If they are not out in the vineyard, they are receiving the public at their lovely cave, located in the basement of their old stone house in St. Bris les Vineux. Reminiscent of a cross between a Loire Val... Read More »

2012 Domaine Jean Marc Brocard Chablis 1er Cru "Montée de Tonnerre"

91-94 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Bright, pale yellow with green highlights. Knockout nose combines lemon oil, peach, mandarin orange, musky stone, white flowers and mint. Dense, rich and chewy with extract; broad and very dry, with excellent cut to the grapefruit and crushed stone flavors. Finishes long and scented, with a light touch that's impressive for a wine of such large dimensions. Very minerally and refined: outstanding potential here." 2012 Domaine Louis Michel "Forets" Chablis (Pre-Arrival)

91 points Antonio Galloni: "The 2012 Chablis Forêts is gorgeous. Ample and resonant on the palate yet with plenty of brightness, the 2012 speaks to balance above all else. The combination of weight, silkiness and energy is absolutely compelling. Floral and citrus infused notes add brightness to the finish. From bottle, the Forêts is even better than it was from tank." (8/2014)91 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2012 Chablis 1er Cru Forets comes from 1.7 hectares of 45-year-old vines planted double-Guyot and sees 12 to 14 months in stainless steel vats. 2012 Billaud-Simon Chablis 1er Cru "Mont de Milieu" Vieilles Vignes (Pre-Arrival)

94 points Antonio Galloni: "The 2012 Chablis Mont de Milieu Vieilles Vignes, from vines planted in 1952, captures the essence of this site in its intense, deeply resonant personality. Apricot pit, smoke, chamomile and licorice are all woven together in the expressive, beautifully layered finish. What a striking wine this is. The 2012 was done 60% in stainless steel and 40% in oak. (Antonio Galloni)" (8/2014)92 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "(<40% new wood; from vines near the bottom of the slope that were planted in 1952 and 1960) There is enough wood to notice but not enough to dominate the ripe yellow orchard frui ...Read More »

90-92 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "This is notably ripe but not really exotic with hints of white peach, pear, spiced tea and hints of sea breeze and iodine. There is good volume and solid density to the rounded yet reasonably precise medium-bodied flavors that possess good energy, a lovely minerality and fine length. This should prove to be a quality effort and mature over a moderately early period in the context of the appellation which is to say 4 to 5 years. Classy juice. Drink: 2018+" (10/2014)

This floats across the palate with inimitable grace and classiness. The richness of the fruit (peach and apricot) is very nicely balanced with floral and minty overtones. This is a terrific showing from Billaud-Simon." 2012 Domaine Testut Chablis 1er Cru "Vaillons"

There is plenty of punch to the delicious, intense and well-delineated medium weight flavors, all wrapped in a mineral-driven and citrusy finish. Note that while this should reward mid-term cellaring that there is sufficient mid-palate fat to allow it to be enjoyed young too." Densely packed, chewy and tactile; a bit smaller-scaled than the Vaudesir but strong integrated acidity perfectly balances the wine's sweetness and gives the palate outstanding cut. The very long, palate-staining finish conveys a strong impression of dusty extract. Great potential here." (7/2014) 91-94 points Antonio Galloni: "The 2013 Chablis Valmur is magnificent. Overall, the 2012 is a vertical wine built on pure old-vine structure. Ideally, the 2012 needs another year or more in bottle, but it is terrific. The Vieilles Vignes was bottled a full seven months later than the straight Butteaux. --" (8/2014) 90-91 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Sweet-saline, iodine-tinged shrimp shell reduction and oyster liqueur along with fresh lemon and lime mouthwatering ...Read More »

2013 Patrick Piuze Chablis Grand Cru "Bougros"

A broad, resonant wine, the Bougros delivers plenty of intensity and immediacy, but it is also a bit blowsy and lacking in focus." (8/2014) 88-90 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2013 Chablis Grand Cru Bougros is more closed on the nose compared to the Blanchots, but well-defined and earthier. The palate was still slightly gassy on the entry but you could still discern attractive notes of orange peel, lime, hints of toffee apple coming through on the finish. Very fine. Drink 2016-2026." Wonderfully stylish and intense in the mouth, with its fruitiness accented by minerals and spices. Most impressive today on the very long, gripping finish, where orange zest and mineral elements stimulate the taste buds." (10/2011)93 points Wine & Spirits: "With 10.18 acres, Fèvre owns one-third of this grand cru, a southwest-facing hillside that produced a spherical wine locked in a Kimmeridgian limestone shell. The silky and refined flavors are wonderfully seductive with an intense minerality to the austere, bone dry and balanced finish that exudes hints of saline and iodine. An inward, powerful and intense wine, the 2011 is going to require considerable patience to fully come together. In a vintage in which so many wines are approachable young, the 2011 Clos is anything but that. Today, it is one of the most reticent wines of the vintage. I am deeply intrigued to see how this huge, structured Chablis develops over the coming years. This is another 2011 that has turned out beautifully." But rounder in the mid-palate and broader and longer on the aftertaste." (8/2013) K&L Notes: This is from vines of over 40 years of age, most planted in 1957 by Gerard's father. Bid on this 12-bottle lot of 2004 Domaine William Fevre Chablis Grand Cru "Les Clos" (96RP, 95BH, 94ST, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The star of this extraordinary line-up is Domaine William Fevre’s show-stopping 2004 Chablis Les Clos (domaine). Its creamed stone aromatics are followed by a bold, muscular, powerful character. Medium to full-bodied and ample, it explodes on the palate, unleashing waves of iodine-laced minerals, white fruits, and liquefied rocks. This masculine counterpart to the Les Preuses is suave, seamless, and immensely concentrated. Projected maturity: 2008-2017. Though it is difficult to fathom, Fevre’s 2005 Chablis Les Clos, tasted at an unbelievably young age, was even bigger, denser, and more powerful! Bravo!" (06/2006)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Fevre owns or controls nearly one quarter of the acreage in Preuses. Their 2006 Chablis Preuses marries fruit from a southeast-facing parcel just above the Cote de Bouguerots and conducive to 'cool' fruit and overt minerality, with a southwest-facing parcel inherently inclined toward richness that was harvested at hugely high ripeness even before this year’s ban de vendange. From its aroma through its impressively dense and expansive palate display, through its lingering finish, this sensually extravagant expression of Preuses (in a manner distinctly reminiscent of Vincent Dauvissat’s) is totally suffused with the savory salinity and sweetness of shrimp and lobster shell reduction.
