2007 Bollinger "Grande Année" Brut Champagne Top Pick!
2007 Bollinger "Grande Année" Brut Champagne

94 points Jeb Dunnuck: "I loved the 2007 La Grande Année, which is based on 70% Pinot Noir and 30% Chardonnay. Over 90% of this cuvée was sourced from Grand Cru sites, with the balance from Premier Cru villages. Vinified all in older barrels and aged 6 years in bottle on lees, it boasts a deep, rich, creamy style as well as full-bodied notes of ripe stone fruits, wood smoke, and spice. It has vibrant acidity, impressive length, and notable purity, all making for a classy, impressive Champagne that will keep for 10-15 years." (3/2018) 94 points Wine Spectator: "A bright, lacy Champagne, offering a tapestry ...Read More »

2008 Drappier "Grande Sendrée" Brut Champagne

94 points Wine Enthusiast: "*Cellar Selection* 0 This ripe wine offers great balance between the rich, structured Pinot Noir and the mineral Chardonnay. From a very fine vintage, it reveals intense flavors, layers of ripe apple and a taut texture that promises further aging. The wine can be drunk now, but it will be so much better from 2018. (RV)" (12/2016) 94 points Wine Spectator: "Very minerally on the nose, with brine and smoke accents leading to flavors of cassis, mandarin orange peel and dried white cherry on the buoyant, creamy mousse. Bright and harmonious, with a rich, lasting finish of toast, chopped ...Read More »

2008 Veuve Clicquot "Gold Label Reserve" Brut Champagne

93 points James Suckling: "Attractive creamy pastry notes and pithy lemon citrus fruits on offer here. There's also a gently nutty edge of autolysis, all locked in nice and fresh here. The palate's bright, crisp and has attractive fresh lemon and peach-fruit flavours. It's a really tidy and more chiselled vintage for this wine." (8/2016) 93 points Wine Spectator: "Very elegant, this is chiseled by racy acidity that's swathed in the refined, creamy mousse and flavors of crème de cassis, preserved lemon, biscuit and dried apricot. Long and lacy on the smoke-tinged, minerally finish. (AN, Web-2016)" 92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Assembling 35% ...Read More »

2010 Louis Roederer Blanc de Blancs Brut Champagne

92 points Vinous: "An overachiever in this range, the 2010 Brut Blanc de Blancs is terrific. Green apple, mint, white flowers and mineral-driven notes give the 2010 freshness vivacity and lift. The Blanc de Blancs is one of the hidden gems in the Roederer lineup and does not seem to get much attention. That is a shame, as it is a first class wine all the way. (AG)" (12/2017)

Veuve Clicquot Extra Brut Extra Old Champagne

93 points James Suckling: "A new cuvée and an assemblage of reserve wines from 1988, 1996, 2006, 2008, 2009 and 2010 laid down in vats for three years, in bottle for another three, followed by a year's rest after disgorging. The freshness belies its age on the nose. This is still bursting with lemon citrus and peach stone fruits, pastry and gently spicy nuances. The palate has a mellow texture (lower pressure bottling at 4.5 atmospheres) and a seamless integration of glossy citrus and stone fruit flavors with biscuity, spicy and nutty complexity. Sweetness of time is all that's re ...Read More »

2009 Alexandre Le Brun "Cuvée Fascination" Brut Blanc de Blancs Champagne (1.5L) (Previously $119)

Alexandre Le Brun is the smallest producer that we import, or even carry from Champagne at just 7.5 acres. He only makes wine from half of the grapes he brings in, selling the rest off to negociants--his production is just one thousand cases a year total. This tiny scale allows Alex to do nearly everything himself and this hands-on approach shows through in the finished product. He only uses his own estate fruit for his Champagne, and although small, it is diverse. He farms 22 plots in eight different villages. Among these are the oldest vines that I hav... Read More »

2008 Pol Roger Vintage Brut Champagne

94 points James Suckling: "Attractive red berries, nectarines and biscuity notes with a hint of spice, too, and a sweet-smelling freshness to it. The palate delivers a very attractive and concentrated array of yellow stone fruit flavors. Smooth and creamy, sorbet-like finish. Drink now or age." (10/2017) 90 points Vinous: "Pol Roger's 2008 Brut Vintage is bright and energetic, but also tightly wound and not fully expressive today. There is good energy to the orchard fruit and citrus driven flavors, not to mention plenty of acid-driven persistence. I would prefer to cellar the 2008 for at least a year ...Read More »

2009 Louis Roederer Starck Brut Nature Champagne

94 points James Suckling: "The clarity of chalk and white almond is striking. Gentle perfume with some light cherry fruits, peach, grapefruit and lemon citrus. The palate has a piercing burst of lemon and grapefruit flavor on the front and builds into gently biscuity and more savory flavors through the middle. Holds on to bright zesty acidity into the finish. Smooth, resolved and balanced. Really detailed." (10/2016) 94 points Vinous: "Roederer's 2009 Brut Nature is compelling. Powerful, ample and creamy, the 2009 has more than enough natural richness and texture to carry the wine with no dosage. The ...Read More »

2007 Delamotte Brut Blanc de Blancs Champagne

92 points Vinous: "Delamotte’s 2007 Blanc de Blancs is deep, fleshy and seductive, with lovely textural depth and nuance throughout. The 2007 is a relatively soft, open-knit Delamotte that will drink well upon release. I especially admire the wine's sense of balance and overall proportion, two of the many qualities that give the 2007 its considerable appeal. (AG)" (6/2016) 92 points Wine Enthusiast: "Delamotte, the sister house of the legendary Salon, is based in the Côte des Blancs so it has plenty of experience with Chardonnay. This crisp, fruity and lightly toasty wine shows well-balanced freshness ...Read More »

Krug "Grande Cuvée" Brut Champagne (375ml)

96 points James Suckling: "A very complex nose here with ripe, deep lemon and grapefruit aromas on offer plus some restrained chalky elements, biscuit, some roasting herbs, hints of pepper, then a little tobacco too. Very complex and full of fresh characters. The palate has a wealth of different fruit flavors like lemon, peach, nectarine, and plums. The finesse in terms of structure, detail and precision is staggering; sherbet-like elegance with immense concentration and power. A great Grande Cuvée. Incredibly satisfying. Based on 2006. 2002 Thienot "Cuvée Alain Thiénot" Brut Champagne

92 points Wine Enthusiast: "Rich and ripe, this wine shows a great balance between fresh, fragrant fruit and toasty hints of maturity. There's a soft feel on the palate, but a tangy, vibrant texture adds complexity to this very fine wine. (RV)" (12/2013) K&L Notes: Precious few 2002's are available these days- grab one of these when you can! This classy vintage Champagne is composed of 60% Chardonnay and 40% Pinot Noir. Like all of the Thiénot vintage wines, this bottling is entirely estate grown from the family's nearly seventy acres of vines. The Alain Thiénot has so much aroma that I thought... Read More »

Fleury Blanc de Noirs Brut Champagne (1.5L)

95 points Decanter: "The original 'green' Champagne producer, organic since 1970 and biodynamic since 1989. I picked the Brut Sonate 2011 to include in my book, which is a little more expensive, but this blanc de noirs is also brilliant, rich and creamy but dancing with a salty minerality. Drinking Window 2017 - 2024. (JA)" (12/2017) 91 points James Suckling: "Very attractive spicy and floral aromas make this an alluring proposition. But don't be fooled – the palate has yellow and pink grapefruit amid a savory, deep and embracingly powerful finish. Drink now." It has a steely core, showing a taut texture as well as some maturity. Ready to drink, it will also age in bottle. (RV)" (12/2013) 94 points James Suckling: "Beautiful aromas of light butter, dough, cooked apples and apple purée. Full-bodied and very rich with plenty of fruit, intense nut, and light toasted oak. Louis Roederer "Brut Premier" Champagne (1.5L)

92 points John Gilman: "The new release of Brut Premier is from the base year of 2012 and was disgorged in the spring of 2016, after spending three years aging on its fine lees. The wine is its customary blend of forty percent each of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir and twenty percent Pinot Meunier. The bouquet wafts from the glass in a complex and still youthful blend of apple, white peach, gentle leesiness, patissière, lovely soil tones and a smoky topnote. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, crisp and beautifully balanced, with excellent mid-palate depth, refined mousse, excell ...Read More »

(AN, Web-2016)" 90 points Wine Enthusiast: "This well-balanced nonvintage Champagne from this major producer in the Aube region is dominated by Pinot Noir, giving rich character and structure. (AN)" (8/2014) K&L Notes: This is one of the most exotic, complex bottles of Champagne in the store. The Chateau de Bligny is a big property, one of the largest growers in all of Champagne at 75 acres.
