Fluteau "Cuvée Réservée" Brut Champagne

This Champagne is aged on its lees for a minimum of three years. This extended time on the yeast infuses the wine with a robust, creamy texture. The blend mainly Pinot Noir (85%), with 15% Chardonnay. Golden-yellow with a lively, lovely bead and a fine, persistent stream of bubbles, this complex and refined bubbly has a fruity nose with notes of peach preserve, fresh raspberry, bergamot, honey and licorice. The Pinot-driven palate is round and rich while being complemented by a touch of yellow fruit and a hint of citrus from the Chardonnay. This is a gre... Read More »

2008 Fluteau "Symbiose" Brut Champagne Top Pick!
2008 Fluteau "Symbiose" Brut Champagne

92 points Wine Enthusiast: "This impressive Champagne is rich while tight and mineral-textured. Creamy and ripe, it balances the weight of Pinot Noir with the elegance of Chardonnay. The producer's location in the relatively warm Aube region gives its wines extra fullness. This one is just now ready to drink. *Editors' Choice* (RV)" (6/2017)

Canard-Duchêne "Authentic" Brut Rosé Champagne (Previously $40.00)

Wine Enthusiast: "Crisp and dry, this is tight with acidity and with red-currant fruit. It is mineral textured, shot through with crisp red-berry flavors and finished with a refreshing aftertaste. (RV)" (12/2016) Wine Spectator: "A light and airy rosé Champagne, this easy-drinking version is fresh and balanced, offering modest hints of raspberry, white peach and lemon zest, with a touch of smoke on the finish. (AN, Web-2016)" K&L Notes: This Champagne is composed of 45% Pinot Noir, 30% Chardonnay and 25% Meunier. It has a great strawberries and cream nose, yet is completely dry on the palate. This is a ... Canard-Duchêne "Authentic" Brut Champagne

Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Light gold. Fresh apple and lemon aromas and flavors are complemented by subtle floral and honey nuances. Light-bodied and clean, with good lift and finishing cut. In an understated, relatively straightforward style that's quite easy to drink. (JR)" (12/2012) Wine Enthusiast: "This blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay is the producer’s nonvintage wine. Crisp and fresh, it’s delightfully tangy and bright with acidity, citrus and juicy apple flavors. It is made to be a great apéritif style with its fruity, light aftertaste. (RV)" (12/2015) K&L Notes: The Canard-Duchene "Authentic" Brut C... Read More »

2004 Krug Brut Champagne Top Pick!
2004 Krug Brut Champagne

97 points Decanter: "This is the current and latest vintage release from Krug, and is a fitting successor to 2002, though it's very different in style - unusually, the blend contains more Chardonnay than Pinot Noir. Despite this, it is hallmark Krug with its oxidative profile. It has a luminous freshness and good density without heaviness. There’s a controlled power to this poised, vinous, linear 2004, displaying candied fruits, minerals, gingerbread, white chocolate, caramel and marzipan. This has a long, dry autolytic finish, great balance and lovely bead. Disgorged just a ...Read More »

Thienot Brut Champagne

91 points Wine Enthusiast: "This finely balanced wine is both crisp and fruity. Zingy acidity and lemon crispness are contrasted by riper apple and pear fruitiness. On the drier side of Brut and with lively mousse, this is a great wine for an apéritif. *Editors' Choice* 9RV)" (12/2017) 91 points Wine Spectator: "Lightly toasty and mouthwatering, this creamy Champagne offers flavors of baked pear and lemon curd, with rich hints of coffee liqueur and pastry cream. Balanced, showing minerally smoke and spice nuances on the finish. Drink now through 2021. (AN)" (11/2017) K&L Notes: This Champagne was the surprise of the 2013 O... Read More »

2002 Thienot "Cuvée Alain Thiénot" Brut Champagne

92 points Wine Enthusiast: "Rich and ripe, this wine shows a great balance between fresh, fragrant fruit and toasty hints of maturity. There's a soft feel on the palate, but a tangy, vibrant texture adds complexity to this very fine wine. (RV)" (12/2013) K&L Notes: Precious few 2002's are available these days- grab one of these when you can! This classy vintage Champagne is composed of 60% Chardonnay and 40% Pinot Noir. Like all of the Thiénot vintage wines, this bottling is entirely estate grown from the family's nearly seventy acres of vines. The Alain Thiénot has so much aroma that I thought... Read More »

1996 Krug Brut Champagne
Bid on this bottle of 1996 Krug Brut Champagne (100W&S, 99ST, 99WS, 98VN, 97JG, 97RP). Wine & Spirits: "It's hard to imagine how a wine of this power can sustain perfect balance. What is now a more nonchalant intensity in the aroma was, in fact, too much to handle when we tasted this last year, as if the wine had no time for mere humans with their limited sense receptors. If you stop to taste ripe pear, ginger spice, apple blossom and butterscotch the wine leaves you lost in random flavor descriptors as it soars off into a vinous glow that lasts for minutes. This may well be the greatest vintage wine of Henri Krug's career (unless it is challenged by the 2002). It is impossible to predict how long this wine will thrive in bottle, though considering the current fine condition of the 1959 Krug, the first 50 years are a given." (12/2008)

2003 Krug Brut Champagne

95 points James Suckling: "Looking very fresh and complex with plenty of richness and caramelized autolysis characters. Quite distinctively fragrant chardonnay notes of citrus, stone fruits and melon. It heads into spicy territory, very resolved and composed, with nutty, bready nuances and chalky notes. There’s trademark kaleidoscopic appeal. The palate has depth and composure with assertive acidity amid supple, fleshy chardonnay grapefruit and white-peach-sorbet flavors, plus lemon pith and nougat. Long, majestic, commanding, dark, nutty, red-grape flavors and phenolics drive the ...Read More »

Canard-Duchêne "Charles VII" Brut Champagne

91 points Wine Enthusiast: "Rich, with a hint of toast, this floral wine, with its almond blossom aromas, is drier than many other bottlings from this producer. It has a crisp, tight texture, with a mineral edge as well as a firm structure that suggests it is still young, so drink from 2018. (RV)" (12/2017) K&L Notes: This is a blend of 55% Pinot Noir and 45% Chardonnay from Avize, Avenay, Ludes and Trepail. It is composed of 20% reserve wines and is dosed at 11 grams per liter. This crisp bottle of Champagne has a lot to offer with very good pear flavor and refreshing zip. (Gary Westby, K&L Ch... Read More »

1999 Louis Roederer "Cristal" Brut Rosé Champagne Back In Stock!
1999 Louis Roederer "Cristal" Brut Rosé Champagne

96 points Wine & Spirits: "Classical Champagne, this is predominantly pinot noir from old vines in Cumières, creating a wine that focuses its flavors high in the mouth. It feels sleek and lively and lasts for minutes. The floral scents of strawberry and brisk taste of toasted lees provide a transparent flavor that magnifies the minerality of the wine. The perfect form makes it lovely to drink on its own, or with slices of sashimi." (12/2006) 94 points Vinous: "Still incredibly youthful and primary, the 1999 Cristal Rosé offers plenty of power, but it is clearly much less refined than the other wines i ...Read More »

Brisk and linear on the palate, which shows very good clarity and refreshing spiciness. Closes clean and long, with a touch of bitter citrus pith and a resonating floral note. 2004 Jacquesson "Champs Cain" Avize Extra Brut Champagne (torn capsule)

96 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "From vines planted in 1962, the single-vineyard Jacquesson 2004 Extra Brut Avize Champ Cain leads with an utterly remarkable nose. A greenhouse-like profusion of leafing and flowering things is imposed over sea breeze, with jasmine; musky narcissus; nose-prickling spice as if from some exotic orchid; iodine-tinged toasted shrimp shells; and toasted grain all pungently present and anticipating the elusive complexity delivered on a caressingly polished yet consummately refreshing and almost ethereally delicate palate. Over time, the sense of creaminess and ...Read More »
