Ruinart Brut Rosé Champagne

92 points Antonio Galloni: "Light orange. Sharply focused red berry and tangerine scents are complicated by suggestions of allspice and cinnamon, with a hint of smokiness in the background. Sappy and minerally on the palate, offering fresh strawberry and blood orange flavors lifted by juicy acidity. Packs a serious punch but carries no excess weight and finishes stony and very long, with echoing red berry character. (JR)" (1/2015)92 points Wine Spectator: "A pretty rosé, harmonious and lithe, with flavors of dried strawberry and smoke carrying on a fine bead and intermingling with the accents of toasted almon ...Read More »

Barnaut "Authentique" Brut Rosé Champagne

91 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Bright orange-pink. Red berries, citrus zest, brioche and smoky minerals on the deeply scented nose. Chewy and broad on entry, then tighter in the mid-palate, offering focused strawberry and bitter blood orange flavors and a hint of dusty minerals. The mineral quality adds cut to the finish, which lingers with very good smoky tenacity. This Champagne could stand up to spicy, strongly seasoned foods." (12/2013)90 points Wine Spectator: "Smoky, this austere version shows angular acidity and a firm bead, offering flavors of black currant, pomegranate, licorice snap and slivered almond ...Read More »

Laurent-Perrier "Cuvée Rosé" Brut Rosé Champagne (1.5L) *Oversized, Ships as a 3L

96 points Connoisseurs Guide: "***Three Stars*** Elegant and fruity at the same time with a quick invitation from bright, pure cherryish notes and then filled out handsomely by whiffs of chalky soils and well-integrated, rich and uplifting yeast-driven scents, this wine manages to be both vigorous and layered at one and the same time. Its bubbles are insistent, finely carved and add to the early sensations of lightness and energy yet also carry the wine long into a balanced, refined finish. And its latter palate grip is exactly what one should expect from the genre. While service with ...Read More »

2012 Bollinger "La Côte aux Enfant" Still Champagne New!
2012 Bollinger "La Côte aux Enfant" Still Champagne

Made only in great vintages, this still Pinot Noir comes from the Bollinger family's oldest vines in Ay. This vineyard is one of the few ungrafted, pre-phylloxera sites in France. We managed to get 12 more bottles! This wine is a real Pinot Noir, one can see through it, and it is haunting rather than powerful. I would compare it to Volnay, with subtle strawberry fruit on the nose and considerable vivacious acidity. I would pair it with lamb during an all-Champagne meal! (Gary Westby, K&L Champagne Buyer)

2007 Thienot "Cuvée Garance" Brut Blanc de Rouges Champagne

This bottling is named after Garance Thienot, who handles the communications and marketing for the family firm. They have chosen to call this Champagne "Blanc de Rouges" instead of "Blanc de Noirs" because of the effort that they put into keeping the wine feminine. This is 100% Pinot Noir and a large proportion of the fruit comes from the grand cru Ay that the family purchased from Krug as well as from Garance's own personal vines in the village of Tauxieres, on the border with Bouzy. This is one of the most intriguing, delicate examples of pure Pinot Cha... Read More »

Taittinger "Prestige" Brut Rosé Champagne

92 points Wine Spectator: "A firm, toasty rosé, with roasted hazelnut and smoke notes underscoring kirsch, dried strawberry, piecrust and fresh ginger flavors. This is lip-smacking, softened and balanced by a fine, creamy texture. Drink now through 2023." (11/2013)90 points Antonio Galloni: "Light orange-pink. Cherry, orange zest and fresh rose aromas show very good clarity and energy. Sappy red fruit flavors display a spicy quality, picking up energy and a floral nuance with air. Concentrated, vibrant and precise, finishing on a zesty mineral note, with lingering spiciness and firm grip. (JR)" (1/2015) Jancis Robinson: "15% st ...Read More »

Charles de Cazanove Brut Rosé Champagne

91 points Wine Spectator: "Refined, with well-meshed acidity providing a backbone for delicate flavors of dried currant, graphite, green plum, meringue and grapefruit zest. Fresh, smoke-tinged finish. Drink now through 2020. (Web Only—2012)" Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Dark pink. Red berry and cherry scents are lifted by a zesty citrus pith quality. Offers juicy raspberry and cherry flavors and a touch of anise. Clings nicely on the finish, which shows good energy and a slightly bitter edge. (JR)" (12/2012) K&L Notes: This rich, round rosé is a truly affordable luxury. Although thus far off the radar of wine critics, I th... Read More »

Barnaut "Grande Réserve" Brut Champagne

92 points Wine & Spirits: "No tasting note given." (12/2004)91 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Vivid yellow. Smoky black raspberry and blood orange scents are lifted by a chalky mineral nuance and a hint of white pepper. Chewy and expansive in the mouth, offering intense red and dark berry and buttered toast flavors and a touch of bitter citrus pith. Finishes with very good power and focus, leaving a suave floral pastille note behind." (12/2013)90 points Wine Spectator: "A hint of peat smoke accents flavors of juicy black cherry, licorice, fruit cake and lemon curd in this tightly knit version, backed by firm acidity and texture. Drappier Rose Brut Champagne

92 points Wine Spectator: "Lightly floral on the nose, with hints of lavender and verbena, and spicy on the palate, offering ground clove and anise accents to the flavors of pastry dough, wild cherry, golden raisin, grated coconut and fleur de sel. Harmonious and elegant throughout, presenting a long, mouthwatering finish. Drink now through 2021." (11/2014)91 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The NV Brut Rose is very, very pretty. This is a fresh, energetic wine that impresses for its length and persistence. The wiry finish suggests the wine will drink well for a number of years, perhaps more if the fruit fleshes out. ...Read More »

1996 Moët & Chandon "Dom Pérignon" Brut Rosé Champagne

97 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Three 1996s from Dom Perignon are special. After having compared original releases and OEnotheque bottlings across a number of vintages going back to 1964, I am increasingly of the belief that the most enjoyable Dom Perignons are impeccably stored bottles of the original release. The 1996 Dom Perignon Rose is simply off the charts. What a wine. The 1996 Rose has begun to fill out rather dramatically. Today it is rich, powerful and totally seductive. (AG)" (11/2010)95 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Bright, amber-tinged pink with pinpoint bubbles. Deep, smoky and complex, with a kaleidoscop ...Read More »

2004 Bollinger "Vieilles Vignes Françaises" Blanc de Noirs Brut Champagne

90 points Antonio Galloni: "We start with a side-by-side comparison of Bollinger’s 2002 and 2004 Vieilles Vignes Françaises, one of my favorite Champagnes. The 2002 is spectacular, as it always is. Rich, warm and resonant, the 2002 covers the palate with seemingly endless layers of burnished, honeyed fruit and the most finessed, subtle mousse imaginable. I don’t see the 2002 making old bones, but it is flat-out great tonight. The 2004, on the other hand, is disappointing. More advanced in its flavors and with quite a bit less structure than the 2002, the 2004 is already maturing an ...Read More »

1996 Krug "Clos d'Ambonnay" Brut Champagne

97 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1996 Clos d’Ambonnay is very similar to the Clos du Mesnil in this vintage. It has the same piercing purity and minerality with the heft of the Pinot still to fully emerge. Hints of menthol, spices and berries wrap around the eternal finish. Clos d’Ambonnay, from a single, walled-in parcel in the village of Ambonnay, is in many ways the red equivalent of Clos du Mesnil. (97+)" (6/2011)95 points Antonio Galloni: "Krug’s 1996 Clos d’Ambonnay comes across as quite nuanced and understated, with precise, crystalline fruit and tons of detail." (10/2014)92 points Wine Spectator: "A warm, inviting Champagne, despi ...Read More »
