2006 Dom Pérignon Brut Champagne Top Pick!
2006 Dom Pérignon Brut Champagne

97 points Vinous: "The 2006 Dom Pérignon is a beautifully balanced, harmonious Dom Pérignon that strikes an incredibly appealing stylistic middle ground. Rich, voluptuous and creamy, the 2006 shows off fabulous intensity in a style that brings together the ripeness of 2002 with the greater sense of verve and overall freshness that is such a signature of the 2004. Bass notes and a feeling of phenolic grip on the finish recall the 2003, as the Pinot Noir is particularly expressive today. After an irregular summer that saw elevated temperatures in July followed by cooler, dam ...Read More »

2006 Louis Roederer "Cristal" Brut Champagne Top Pick!
2006 Louis Roederer "Cristal" Brut Champagne

97 points James Suckling: "Deep Pinot-driven presence is the first and lasting impression. Power with control. Superfine bead, bread and spiced biscuits, candied ripe red fruits and a sense of tight-knit complexity. Some grapefruit, lemon pith & gently flinty notes too - impressive nose. In the mouth it is rich, powerful, mouth-filling and flavoursome with a core of the same biscuity red fruit flavour, savoury nutty notes and a wrap of assertive, persistent acidity that holds rich powerful flavour deep and focused whilst maintaining a polished, gently creamy texture. Long chalky b ...Read More »

2006 Drappier "Grande Sendrée" Brut Champagne

94 points Wine Enthusiast: "This vintage of Drappier’s top cuvée is showing signs of delicious maturity. With tropical fruits morphing into toast and ripe almonds, it’s a wine on the cusp of greatness. For now, there is still plenty of freshness there, tight acidity and the ripe character that’s typical of Champagnes from the Aube." (12/2014) 93 points Wine Spectator: "An elegant version, with a smoky underpinning and finely knit flavors of black raspberry, candied kumquat, toasted almond and biscuit, layered with vivid acidity. Long and lacy on the lightly spiced finish. Disgorged February 2014. Drink now thr ...Read More »

2006 Fluteau "Symbiose" Brut Champagne

Made entirely from estate-grown fruit, the Symbiose is composed of 50% Chardonnay and 50% Pinot Noir from Gye-Sur-Seine in the southernmost part of Champagne. This wine is so clean, subtle and balanced that it will be finished before you know it. I think that is embodies all the best traits of this very good vintage; it is vibrant, pure and best of all, classically styled Champagne. I plan on putting a case in the cellar for myself! 2006 Pol Roger Brut Rosé Champagne

93 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Bright orange-pink. Displays intense aromas of fresh red berries, orange pith, buttered toast and smoky minerals, with a suave floral nuance in the background. Fleshy and seamless on the palate, offering sappy strawberry and blood orange flavors that expand and gain sweetness with air. Closes spicy, smoky and long, with excellent clarity and no rough edges." (12/2014) 93 points Wine Enthusiast: "With its mature orange, onion skin color, this is a soft, toasty wine. It is losing fruit and gaining a wide range of mature flavors while keeping tight acidity. The wine tastes drier than pr ...Read More »

2006 Veuve Clicquot "La Grande Dame" Brut Champagne

94 points Wine Enthusiast: "Veuve Clicquot’s prestige cuvée is named after the widow Clicquot, the great lady who built up the house in the early 19th century. This latest incarnation is just showing signs of ripe toasty maturity. It is rich and soft with a high dosage, in the house style, with a full panoply of lime, red apple and apricot. Drink now and until 2022." (12/2015) 94 points Wine Spectator: "Bright and graceful, this seamlessly knits a subtle streak of smoke-tinged minerality with flavors of almond financier, poached pear, candied kumquat and crème de cassis, focused by vibrant acidity and a refine ...Read More »

2006 Louis Roederer "Cristal" Brut Rosé Champagne

95 points Wine Spectator: "Still so fresh, this is fruity, yes, but it has such a depth of flavor with its red fruits the starting point for an adventure in tastes and textures. Produced from Roederer’s own vineyards, it is ready to drink, although it will age in bottle for many years." (12/2014)

2006 Deutz "Amour de Deutz" Brut Rosé Champagne (Pre-Arrival)

95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Dressed in a beautifully bright and brillant salmon rosé color and further characterized by a creamy effervescence creating an extremely noble bead chain, a ridiculously pure, subtle, refined and delicate aroma of red currant, white nectarines, coconut milk, wild flowers (alpine rose) and berries as well as densely woven minerals is revealed on the nose. On the palate this light-hearted yet full-flavored and persistent prestige Champagne reveals a delicate, fresh, racy, tightly yet stimulating mineral character, which is generous enough to admit refined, ...Read More »

2006 Louis Roederer Brut Nature Champagne

94 points James Suckling: "A delicious collaboration with France's guru designer of cool, this goes against the grain of Louis Roederer and has no dosage, making it very dry. It's dense and powerful with layers of fruit. It’s also full and almost spicy with a long and powerful finish. Soft texture too. If you closed your eyes, it tastes like a red. Starck actually was involved with the blend; he says it's so good you almost don't need the bottle. But the bottle makes it. A blend of two-thirds Pinot Noir and one-third Chardonnay. No malo." 2006 Deutz "Amour de Deutz" Brut (Pre-Arrival)

94 points Vinous: "The 2006 Amour de Deutz is fabulous, and also shows what the house can do in a strong vintage. A rich, powerful Blanc de Blancs, the 2006 boasts notable texture and breadth. Even with all of its intensity, the 2006 preserves considerable freshness. Brioche, spice and yellow stone fruit nuances meld into the resonant, creamy finish. Readers will have to give the 2006 at least a year or two in bottle, possibly more, as it is tightly wound and energetic to the core. Still, there is a lot to like in the wine's crisp, citrus-inflected notes and vibrant person ...Read More »

2006 Philipponnat "Le Léon" Extra Brut Champagne

91 points Vinous: "Rich, ample and broad on the palate, the 2006 Aÿ Le Léon blossoms beautifully in the glass. White pepper, spices and expressive, generous fruit flesh out nicely. This supple, resonant wine is another excellent choice for drinking over the near and medium term. This is another fairly open, expressive wine that will drink well upon release. (Drink between 2014-2020) (AG)" (5/2014)
