1985 Veuve Clicquot "Rare" Brut Rosé Champagne
Bid on this bottle of 1985 Veuve Clicquot "Rare" Brut Rosé Champagne (95W&S, 94WE, 93WS, 91RP). Wine & Spirits: "This wine's elegance starts with the delicate, salmon-pink color and runs right through the luscious, succulent flavors of strawberries. It's chalky and lithe, the flavors lasting with an exotic edge of litchi and Brazil nuts. A beautifully mature wine, this offers tremendous pleasure on its own or with seared Coho salmon and wild mushrooms." (12/2006)

2004 Jacquesson "Champs Cain" Avize Extra Brut Champagne (OWC)
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2004 Jacquesson "Champs Cain" Avize Extra Brut Champagne (OWC - 96RP, 95VN, 93ST) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "From vines planted in 1962, the single-vineyard Jacquesson 2004 Extra Brut Avize Champ Cain leads with an utterly remarkable nose. A greenhouse-like profusion of leafing and flowering things is imposed over sea breeze, with jasmine; musky narcissus; nose-prickling spice as if from some exotic orchid; iodine-tinged toasted shrimp shells; and toasted grain all pungently present and anticipating the elusive complexity delivered on a caressingly polished yet consummately refreshing and almost ethereally delicate palate. Over time, the sense of creaminess and the refinement of bubbles became more evident, along with a contrasting impression of enhanced piquancy, suggesting hops and lentil sprouts, all in the context of remarkable poise and transparency to nuance. The endlessly fascinating finish remains infectiously juicy and subtly

2008 Vouette et Sorbée "Sobre" Extra Brut Champagne
Bid on this bottle of 2008 Vouette et Sorbée "Sobre" Extra Brut Champagne. Antonio Galloni writes of Vouette et Sorbée: "Like many artisan Champagnes, the Vouette et Sorbee are wines first and foremost. They should be opened in advance, given some air and served in regular white wine glasses, never flutes. All of the wines are fermented in barrel, using only indigenous yeasts. There is no cold stabilization, fining or filtering and the wines are bottled with no dosage. When the wines are on, they are among the most exciting wines being made in Champagne." (10/2011)

1971 G.H. Mumm "René Lalou" Brut Champagne
Bid on this bottle of 1971 G.H. Mumm "René Lalou" Brut Champagne (90JG). John Gilman: "The 1971 Mumm’s Cuvée René Lalou is impressively bright and vibrant for a forty year-old bottle of bubbly, but it still retains just a touch of angularity on the palate from its early days. The first class bouquet jumps from the glass in a musky blend of backed apples and peaches, warm biscuits, stony soil tones, a touch of acacia blossom and grapefruit peel in the upper register. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, crisp and focused, with a good core, plenty of minerality, good mousse, sound acids and very good length and grip on the finish. After forty years, one suspects that the angularity here is never going to go away, but other than a slightly gangly backend palate impression, this is really very fine juice and still quite young for its age. (Drink between 2011-2030)" (08/2011)

1996 Pierre Péters "Les Chétillons - Cuvee Spéciale" Brut Champagne (1.5L)
Bid on this magnum lot of 1996 Pierre Péters "Les Chétillons - Cuvee Spéciale" Brut Champagne (1.5L) (93ST). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Pungent, multidimensional nose combines grapefruit, passion fruit, fresh herbs, dusty stone and toasted nuts; shows an almost metallic mineral character. Large-scaled and broad but without any excess weight; expressive, Burgundian flavors of grapefruit, vanilla and minerals. A complete Champagne of terrific class and nuance. Very long and rich on the back end. Both this and the Brut Millesime should develop and deepen in bottle for many years. (ST)" (11/2001)
