Drappier "Carte Blanche" Brut Champagne (Previously $40) Top Pick!
Drappier "Carte Blanche" Brut Champagne (Previously $40)

91 points Wine Spectator: "A rich, smoky Champagne, exhibiting toast, brioche and roast chestnut character that mixes with flavors of quince paste, crystallized honey and candied orange peel. Fine-grained, with a long, nut-tinged finish. (AN)" (11/2011) Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The NV Brut Carte d’Or is a very pretty, entry-level wine graced with expressive dried pears, apricots, flowers and mint. Delicate and polished throughout, the Carte d’Or should drink nicely for the next few years. Fresh, floral notes add lift on the finish. (AG)" (10/2011) K&L Notes: From the tiny village of Urville, in the middle of the Aube de... Read More »

Franck Bonville (Old Label) Grand Cru Brut Blanc de Blancs Champagne (Previously 35)

Jancis Robinson: "Olivier Bonville is the third generation to make wine here. Super-clean fresh nose, smells like a health scrub. Vigorous mousse. Crisp edges and a creamy middle, streaked with verbena. More green than lemon, and just slightly sour. Quite weighty and substantial yet with a cutting edge, like prow of a ship. *Good Value* (TC)" (12/2014)

Drappier "Quattuor" Brut Champagne (Previously $119)

We only recieved an 18 bottle allocation of this great Champagne rarity. It is composed of 25% Arbanne, 25% Petit Meslier, 25% Pinot Blanc and 25% Chardonnay from the Drappier estate in Urville and dosed at a very low 4.2g/l of sugar. These are grapes that are so rare in Champagne that they aren't even on the test for Champagne educators! -Gary Westby

Taittinger "La Francaise" Brut Champagne Methuselah (6L) (Previously $500)

90 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The deliciously delicate Taittinger NV Brut La Francaise L2383PK01300 is strikingly buoyant and dominated by subtle scents of yeast-tinged flowers and foliage – honeysuckle and mint immediately come to mind – that allude to its roughly one-quarter Meunier component, with a luscious matrix of lime-drenched honeydew melon and apple well-supported by discreet residual sugar leading to a sustained and refreshing finish. Hints of toasted almond and vanilla-tinged cookie dough lend a faintly confectionary cast that manages to harmonize with the dominant fruiti ...Read More »

Veuve Clicquot Brut Champagne Methuselah (6L) (Previously $1100)

92 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "This remains quite fresh with its cool nose of apple, citrus and exuberant yeast elements that continue onto the crisp, intense and energetic flavors that terminate in a saline-inflected, wonderfully complex and beautifully well-balanced finale. In contrast to some '90s today, this is still in terrific shape and should continue to hold if not improve for years to come. In a word, lovely." (10/2015) 92 points James Suckling: "This famous Yellow Label is is in great shape with a really fresh and complex integrated feel to it from head to toe. The nose has plenty of lemon and grapefrui ...Read More »

Louis Roederer "Brut Premier" Champagne Methuselah (6L) (Previously $600)

92 points James Suckling: "Beautifully composed reduction across lemon citrus, white peach, cherries and deeper, more savory notes of spice and grilled nuts; fresh and complex at once. The palate's assertively flavored, yet runs on a smooth and fine textural thread. Acidity is paramount, redder fruits hold court here. Great balance and depth." (7/2015) 92 points Wine Enthusiast: "To judge by the cork, this bottling has some age, giving it a toasty as well as fruity character that adds complexity to this baked-apple and citrus-flavored wine. It also means that it needs no further aging and is delicious to drink ...Read More »
