Le Brun was named Champagne Producer of the Year, 2015 International Wine & Spirit Competition. This Champagne is made in the Seazanne, a terroir within Champagne whose product is rarely seen in the U.S. It is composed of 60% Chardonnay and 40% Pinot Noir and is aged for five years on the lees. This sur-lee aging is done on a cork rather that a crown cap, a process usually reserved for much more expensive wines, most famously Bollinger vintage. (Gary Westby, K&L Champagne buyer)
NYC's NoMad Hotel Restaurant was named one of the Top 100 Wine Restaurants in 2013 by Wine Enthusiast, and its bar manager was named one of the Top 40 Under 40 Tastemakers. They teamed up with the renowned Billecart-Salmon Champagne house to create a cuvée that has truly become a destination bottle for the restaurant. A blend of 40% Pinot Meunier, 35% Pinot Noir, and 25% Chardonnay, with zero dosage.
This Champagne is 1/3 each Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Meunier from 25-30 year old vineyards on the Ariston estate in Brouillet.
Made entirely from estate-grown fruit, the Symbiose is composed of 50% Chardonnay and 50% Pinot Noir from Gye-Sur-Seine in the southernmost part of Champagne. This wine is so clean, subtle and balanced that it will be finished before you know it. I think that is embodies all the best traits of this very good vintage; it is vibrant, pure and best of all, classically styled Champagne. I plan on putting a case in the cellar for myself! Sappy and expansive on the palate, offering intense orchard fruit flavors braced by gentle acidity. A smoky, leesy nuance lingers on the long, supple finish.
