Laurent-Perrier "Grand Siècle" Brut Champagne Top Pick!
Laurent-Perrier "Grand Siècle" Brut Champagne

97 points Wine Enthusiast: "*Cellar Selection* Laurent-Perrier’s prestige cuvée has always been nonvintage, a blending of top wines from top years. It remains an exceptional wine, not quite dry and with a tinge of softness, but so elegant and balanced. This bottling has just the right amount of maturity, hinting at toast while guarding every iota of fruitiness. (RV)" (12/2014) 95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The NV Grand Siècle Grande Cuvée is a Grand Cru Brut based on 55% Chardonnay and 45% Pinot Noir from a total of eleven villages. Full yet racy and intense. A beautiful center palate. Linear. Shows potential for aging but so good right now." (12/2016) 97 points Vinous: "The 2006 Dom Pérignon is a beautifully balanced, harmonious Dom Pérignon that strikes an incredibly appealing stylistic middle ground. (ME)" (10/2016) 97 points James Suckling: "A very rich and full-bodied Cristal that harks back to 2006 or 1989 in style. It's round and rich, which underlies the ripeness of the vintage. 100 points James Suckling: "The much-anticipated 2002 has impeccable detail and depth with a lot of chalky, stony and flinty elements on the nose as well as a very fresh edge. The nose is very complex and wound up tight but presents itself as very integrated and compressed. There are aromas of lemon rind, lime juice and a lime custard all at once, complemented in turn by a super-restrained hazelnut-like edge. 2006 Taittinger "Comtes de Champagne" Brut Blanc de Blancs Champagne

97 points Decanter: "The 2006 brings back all the wonder of classic Comtes: the innocence of a joyful childhood, a free-as-air dash through endless blue daylight and a breathless plunge into an icy mountain rock pool. A wine of coiled energy, focus, precision and minerality that bores to the very core of the finest chalkfields of the Côte des Blancs." (1/2016) 97 points Vinous: "The 2006 Comtes de Champagne is striking, especially in the way it brings together elements of ripeness and freshness in a hypothetical blend of the 2002 and 2004. 2004 Dom Pérignon Brut Rosé Champagne

96 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The fascinatingly copper-colored 2004 Dom Pérignon Rosé has a beautifully delicate bouquet of red fruits, and indicates a great purity and freshness. Kept on the lees for at least nine years to smooth the tannins the 2004 reveals a weightless power on the palate. It has a deep and concentrated, highly elegant Pinot character (though Chardonnay and Pinot are more or less 50/50), and is full of finesse and freshness. 2002 Pol Roger "Cuvée Sir Winston Churchill" Brut Champagne

It has weight and richness, with a dense, full and rich texture. It’s in perfect balance, bringing together maturity and crisper apple and green plum fruit flavors that are cut with lemon. A mineral edge gives a nervy character that will allow this magnificent wine to age further. 97 points Vinous: "The 2004 Dom Ruinart is just as brilliant and viscerally thrilling as it has always been. If anything, the 2004 has shut down considerably over the last six months. Tightly coiled and exceptionally beautiful, the 2004 boasts fabulous intensity, class and pedigree. The flavors are vibrant, chiseled and crystalline in their precision. Time in bottle is doing wonders for the 2004. This is a tremendous showing. Disgorged June 2013. Gorgeous and flamboyant. Sexy. Drink now or hold. Decant before if you want to have the chalk undertones, a reflection of the great soils of Champagne." (12/2016) 96 points Wine & Spirits: "From a late harvest saved by fine fall weather, this 1998 is part of a new program at Dom Pérignon, released after extended aging on the lees, disgorged when Richard Geoffroy considers the wine to be reaching its second peak of develo ...Read More »

The palate's bright and crisp and really has an air of fleshy depth and refinement. There's also a great warm, toasty finish that displays grilled hazelnuts. Great now through to to 2020 and beyond." 91 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "(60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay; disgorged in October, 2013): Light gold, with a faint onion skin cast. Spicy orange zest and honeydew on the fragrant, mineral-accented nose. Dry and tightly focused, offering lively Meyer lemon and melon flavors and a deeper suggestion of nectarine. Finishes with building floral character and excellent tangy persistence, leaving bitter citrus zest and dusty mineral notes behind. (JR)" (1/2015) 90 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Pierre Paillard's Bouzy Grand Cru Brut (the final name has still to be decided when I tasted it in March 2016) is a 60% Pinot No ...Read More »

Billecart-Salmon Brut Reserve Champagne Jeroboam (3L)

92 points James Suckling: "This has impressive ripe stone fruits on the nose with peaches, mangoes, melon and cherries. Really upbeat and attractive purity. The palate follows the same thread of fruit characters with a clever balance of flesh and crunch, a bright finish and good balance. Drink now. A blend of roughly equal thirds of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier." (10/2016) 91 points Wine & Spirits: "Its remarkable fruitiness might be tied to the firm’s long, slow, cool fermentations, which, they believe, allow meunier to maintain its perfume. This is a graceful, vinous Champagne with dramatic high ...Read More »

Krug "Grande Cuvée" 161 Ème Édition Brut Champagne

Jancis Robinson: "This is the 161st creation of Krug Grande Cuvée, code 312036, based on the 2005 vintage, the oldest wine is from 1990 and the youngest 2005 with 134 wines from 12 vintages to make the Krug signature Grande Cuveé. Dosage 6 g/l. Disgorged summer 2012. Tasted blind. Fizzy and tight. But not one of the densest or finest. Base ...Read More »

Louis Roederer "Brut Premier" Champagne Jeroboam (3L)

92 points James Suckling: "Beautifully composed reduction across lemon citrus, white peach, cherries and deeper, more savory notes of spice and grilled nuts; fresh and complex at once. The palate's assertively flavored, yet runs on a smooth and fine textural thread. Acidity is paramount, redder fruits hold court here. Great balance and depth." (7/2015) 92 points Wine Enthusiast: "To judge by the cork, this bottling has some age, giving it a toasty as well as fruity character that adds complexity to this baked-apple and citrus-flavored wine. It also means that it needs no further aging and is delicious to drink ...Read More »

Bollinger "Special Cuvée" Brut Champagne (1.5L)

93 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "*Outstanding* There is lovely complexity to the distinctly yeasty nose that combines high-toned green apple, pear, white flowers and gentle citrus nuances. The clean and sleek flavors are supported by a crisply firm but fine mousse where the finish is medium dry and lingering. It's not all that often that I suggest that readers cellar NV Brut but this is an example that absolutely cries out for it. I suspect that the texture will materially change for the better (i.e. become creamier) and better depth will be in the offing as well. Put it this way: this ...Read More »

2012 Bollinger "La Cote aux Enfant" Still Champagne

Made only in great vintages, this still Pinot Noir comes from the Bollinger family's oldest vines in Ay. This vineyard is one of the few ungrafted, pre-phylloxera sites in France. We managed to get 12 more bottles! This wine is a real Pinot Noir, one can see through it, and it is haunting rather than powerful. I would compare it to Volnay, with subtle strawberry fruit on the nose and considerable vivacious acidity. I would pair it with lamb during an all-Champagne meal! 2005 Dom Pérignon Brut Champagne (1.5L)

97 points James Suckling: "I believe that the 2005 DP is the best since 2002, which remains the best recent vintage and is probably only eclipsed by the amazing 100-point 1996. The 2005 is a full-bodied DP with so much richness and loads of ripe fruit such as pineapple and papaya. It has a wonderful, creamy texture and a long and intense finish. It’s a Champagne that fully satisfies but at the same time challenges you with its strength, depth and persistence on the palate." (4/2015) 95 points Wine Enthusiast: "With some age, this is a gloriously ripe and toasty wine. It has a rich character emphasized by the r ...Read More »
