2013 Petit Guiraud, Sauternes (375ml)

The second wine of Château Guiraud and made by Xavier Planty, Château Guiraud's oenologist since 1982. It is a modern style with a high proportion of Sauvignon Blanc (approximately one third), made from a blend of lots fermented in stainless steel (for minerality and freshness), and new French oak barrels, which promote the development of richness, body, and intensity of flavor on the palate. Guiraud has employed organic farming methods since 1996, and obtained organic certification in 2011.

Bid on this bottle of 1990 d'Yquem, Sauternes (99RP, 95WS, 94ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "An extraordinary effort, Yquem's 1990 is a rich and fabulously superb, sweet wine. This wine also possesses lots of elegance and finesse. The wine's medium gold color is accompanied by an exceptionally sweet nose of honeyed tropical fruits, peaches, coconut, and apricots. High quality, subtle toasty oak is well-integrated. The wine is massive on the palate, with layers of intensely ripe botrytis-tinged, exceptionally sweet fruit.
