2007 Tronquoy-Lalande, St-Estèphe Top Pick!
2007 Tronquoy-Lalande, St-Estèphe

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Plum and black currant fruit intermixed with notions of herbs, licorice, and spice box are found in this round, ample, easy-going, silky-textured 2007. (RP)" (4/2010) Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Good red-ruby color. Red berries, licorice, flowers and spices on the nose. Supple and sweet, with red berry fruit complicated by herbs and black olive. Finishes with suave, smooth, nicely ripe tannins. Tronquoy-Lalande was purchased in late 2006 by the Bouygues group, the new owners of Chateau Montrose, who installed Jean-Bernard Delmas as director here as well. (ST)" (5/2008)

2007 Labegorce Zede, Margaux Top Pick!
2007 Labegorce Zede, Margaux

90 points Wine Enthusiast: "From 2009, Labégorce-Zédé will no longer exist, being amalgamated with Château Labégorce-Margaux. So this 2007 is one of the last vintages. The wine has solid but lively black fruits, the tannins dark, firm and full of blackberry juice flavors with a touch of cranberry dryness. It is definitely for aging. (RV)" (6/2010) Wine Spectator: "Delicate aromas of currant and flowers follow through to a medium body, with fine tannins and an aftertaste of licorice and delicate berry. Fresh and elegant. (JS, Web Only-2010)" K&L Notes: This property does not exist anymore as its vineyards go into ... Read More »

2007 Clos du Marquis, St-Julien

91 points Wine Enthusiast: "Definite tannins here, a wine that shows ripe fruits, richness and a solid core. It is not huge, but does have structure, bitter chocolate, sweetness. (RV)" (4/2010) Wine Spectator: "Black licorice and currant aromas lead to a medium body, with a good core of fruit, fine tannins and a delicate finish. Balanced and fine. (JS)" (3/2010)

2007 Langoa-Barton, St-Julien

91 points Wine Enthusiast: "Already the velvet texture is broadening out to give a wine that shows solid fruits, bright and sweet, never heavy, but with plenty of ripeness and polish. Inside this suave character, there is a core of tight tannins, promising medium-term aging. (RV)" (4/2010) 90 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Tasted at BI Wine & Spirits' 10-Years-On tasting, the 2007 Langoa Barton has an attractive bouquet with blackberry, autumn leaves, truffle and salted licorice scents that gain intensity in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with a harmonious entry and a gentle grip in the mouth; it's quite a co ...Read More »

2007 Haut-Bergeron, Sauternes

Wine Spectator: "A rich style, showing dried apricot, glazed peach and maple notes, with a slightly soft texture. A touch short on the finish. Drink now through 2012. 15,000 cases made. –JM" (4/2011)

2007 Haut-Bailly, Pessac-Léognan

92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Tasted at BI Wine & Spirits' 10-Year-On tasting, the 2007 Haut Bailly has a beautiful, quintessential Pessac bouquet with touches of warm gravel filtering through the black fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with impressive, tightly knit black fruit laced with cedar and white pepper. There is superb weight in this 2007 considering the vintage, doling out fine mineralité on the persistent finish. Very fine, but I would actually wait another couple of years before broaching. Tasted February 2017.(NM)" (6/2017) 91 points Wine Enthusiast: "A dense wine, very much in the line of powerful ...Read More »

2007 Malescot-St-Exupéry, Margaux

90 points Wine Spectator: "This exhibits plum, milk chocolate and light toasty oak aromas. Full-bodied, with soft, velvety tannins, delicious fruit and a medium finish. Very balanced and nicely textured. Enjoy the softness. Best after 2013. (JS)" (3/2010) Jancis Robinson: "Healthy ruby. Round and easy and fully evolved. Quite a charmer in Margaux mould even if it is not that ambitious. Relatively light but with classic claret attributes of refreshment. Drink 2014-2024. (JR)" (3/2015)

2007 Latour, Pauillac

95 points Wine Enthusiast: "A big and powerful wine, with tannins that are compact and dense. The dryness of the tannins go right to the core, surrounded by chocolate, sweet fruit and dark berry flavors. The wine is well structured, big and bold, with plenty of firmness promising aging. (RV)" (4/2010) 92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Tasted at BI Wine & Spirits' 10-Years-On tasting, the 2007 Latour was late-released last year, and I reviewed it at that time. This bottle reaffirmed my remarks from a few months ago albeit here within the context of all the other First Growth. I noticed that it has slightly more intens ...Read More »

2007 Suduiraut, Sauternes

97 points Wine Enthusiast: "*Cellar Selection* Powered by dry botrytis, this is a wine with immense potential. It has weight, complexity and richness, all under the cloak of botrytis. To leaven the power, there is acidity, but this is certainly for aging. (RV)" (6/2010) 92-95 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "(90% Semillon with 10% Sauvignon Blanc) Bright yellow-gold. Subdued but powerful nose offers fresh stone fruits, grapefruit zest, ginger and honey, all lifted by a floral topnote. Lush, thick and honeyed, but with superb acidity framing the flavors of mandarin orange, pineapple, honey and chalk. Finishes very long and ...Read More »

2007 Magdelaine, St-Emilion

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Performing much better than it did from cask, Magdelaine’s elegant 2007 (virtually all Merlot) exhibits a Chateauneuf du Pape-like kirsch component intermixed with licorice and spice. Supple-textured, medium-bodied, and fruity, it is ideal for drinking over the next decade." (4/2010) Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Moderately saturated dark red. Aromas of black cherry, licorice, menthol and tree bark, with a floral nuance. Supple and silky but a bit folded in on itself today, with reticent red and darker fruit flavors firmed on the end by iron and mineral nuances. Finishes with good brea ...Read More »

2007 Mouton-Rothschild, Pauillac

95 points Wine Enthusiast: "The wood element is important here, but it is based on a firm Cabernet Sauvignon structure, dry but rich tannins. The wine is a great success for the vintage, giving sweetness, ripe fruit that only shows light extraction, and dark plum and berry flavors. The feeling is of polished fruit and wood, rounded but always dense." (4/2010) 94 points James Suckling: "This Mouton is starting to show the complexity of an aged Mouton with truffles, dried strawberries and cherries. Full body, firm tannins and flavors of sous bois and mushrooms, which make this really quite sexy. Better in a year ...Read More »

2007 Kirwan, Margaux

91 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Tasted blind at Farr Vintners 2007 Bordeaux tasting. I have always admired the 2007 Kirwan, one of the better Margaux wines of the vintage. Here, it has a clean and pure bouquet, not complex but demonstrating good vigor: wild strawberry, hot gravel and sous-bois notes complemented by cigar box after time. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, moderate depth, a little more feminine than its peers with cracked black pepper towards the finish. (NM)" (6/2017) 91 points Wine Enthusiast: "This is a solid, finely perfumed wine, the tannins giving concentration and structure. There i ...Read More »

2007 Margaux, Margaux Top Pick!
2007 Margaux, Margaux

95 points Decanter: "All of the Left Bank firsts are tasting excellent, but Margaux stands out for the tightness and clarity of its sweet cherry and cassis fruit expression, the menthol grip on the finish, and the perfume that runs through the palate. This is a vintage that could almost be ready to drink with a good carafing, but the layers of graphite and the finesse to the tannins suggest it could also go longer. A great example of the subtle crafting possible in 2007. (JA)" (2/2017) 93 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Bright, dark red. Knockout nose combines redcurrant, blackberry, spices, flowers, tobacco an ...Read More »

2007 Troplong Mondot, St-Emilion

92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Tasted at BI Wine & Spirits' 10-Years-On tasting, the 2007 Troplong-Mondot has long been a Saint Emilion that has surpassed the vintage. It has a sophisticated bouquet with crushed strawberry, fresh mint and subtle gamy aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly grainy tannin on the entry, the fruit a little darker and the personality a little broodier than the Canon-la-Gaffelière, gently fanning out on the almost Pomerol-like finish. Probably à point, but it will give another decade's worth of pleasure. (NM)" (6/2017) 91 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Deep red-ruby. Expressive arom ...Read More »
