2007 d'Escurac, Medoc

This is a property to watch in the future. Very well-priced wines that have great balance and fruit. This one has toasty aromas and a very fruity palate impression. Super value. Very elegant wine from one of my favorite ready-to-drink vintages. Enjoy with a rack of lamb. (Clyde Beffa, K&L Wine Merchants)

2007 Carbonnieux Blanc, Graves

92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Tasted at the UGC in London. Ripe nose with lime, gooseberry and a touch of cut grass: good definition and lift. The palate is ripe and full of grapefruit, lime and gooseberry notes, but just lacking some tension towards the finish. This should be better considering that 2007 was a favourable vintage for Bordeaux Blanc. Drink now-2014." (4/2010) 91 points Wine Enthusiast: "Dominated by the grassy characters of Sauvignon Blanc, this is a tight wine, almost cool in its character. The fruit skin tannins are very apparent, giving the wine a crispness, layering acidity and a strong citrus ...Read More »

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2007 Tourelles De Longueville, Pauillac in original wood. Wine Spectator: "Offers beautiful aromas of blackberry, currant and lightly toasty oak. 2007 Doisy-Védrines, Sauternes

93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Tasted at the château, the 2007 Château Doisy-Védrines does not achieve the same level of precision as the 2006 on the nose, although there is plenty of botrytis here with scents of melted candle wax and white peach. The palate is vibrant on the entry with impressive weight: hints of orange peel and apricot with a tender, almost understated finish. This improves in the glass, gaining more complexity and nuance and yet never quite demonstrating the sheer ambition as the 2009. Yet I notice even within the limited amount of time at my disposal some meliorat ...Read More »

2007 Climens, Barsac

98 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Tasted single blind against its peers. Chateau Climens always tends to go into its shell after bottling, which is probably why I was not dishing out an even higher score to this still, spellbinding Barsac. The 2007 is endowed with a lovely bouquet: very pure with honey, a touch of orange-blossom and a touch of quince. The palate is very well-balanced with great purity and a dash of spice as well as a lovely viscous, botrytis-laden finish that possesses awesome weight and persistency. This is a slice of heaven in a glass, but it definitely needs time to r ...Read More »

2007 Larrivet Haut-Brion Blanc, Pessac-Léognon

94 points and a Cellar Selection, Wine Enthusiast: "Finely balanced, this has plenty of weight, which shines with the fresh lemon, pear and sweet grapefruit flavors. There is some wood there, but just a hint to give texture. A big success from a fine white wine vintage, and worth aging for 3-4 years." (07/09) 87-90 points Robert Parker. K&L's notes: One of the many Haut-Brion properties, Ch. Larrivet-Haut-Brion is located on a gravelly ridge near K&L favorite Ch. Haut-Bailly. This is a very earthy white with a decent middle.

2007 Clerc-Milon, Pauillac

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This impressive effort reveals more layers of flavor than most 2007s. Its deep ruby/purple color is followed by notes of black currants, coffee, and white chocolate, medium to full body, surprising density and purity, and a very good finish. Drink it over the next 10-12 years. (RP)" (4/2010) Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Good deep red. Expressive aromas of currant, licorice, graphite and chocolatey oak complicated by hints of iron, leather and game. Broad, ripe and lush but quite dry; this tightened up in the glass. Offers very good texture for the vintage, though, finishing with subs ...Read More »

2007 Barde-Haut, St-Emilion

90-92 points Robert Parker. 89-92 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Good ruby-red. Sappy aromas of black cherry, minerals, violet and mint. Suave on entry, then fresh and alive in the middle palate, with noteworthy intensity to the black cherry and licorice flavors. From fruit picked between October 10 and 17-including the Merlot-according to Helene Garcin. Finishes subtle, ripe and long, with supple tannins and lively notes of black fruit and minerals. This is very promising. " (May/June '08) According to Wine Spectator: "Blackberry a... Read More »

2007 Rouget, Pomerol

Decanter: "Proper Pomerol richness and attack with black fruit. Fresh and forceful ripe fruit and perfume. Acidity adds balance; very fresh as well." (11/2010) Jancis Robinson: "Sweet and mellifluous and lively with some freshness. Well done! Good balance. Long." (4/2008) Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This property appears to be making better and better wines with each vintage. The soft, silky, tasty 2007 boasts copious black cherry and ripe strawberry fruit interwoven with notions of sandy soil. Enjoy this medium-bodied, plush Pomerol over the next 7-10 years." (4/2010) Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Deep, bright ruby-red. Musky, rather wild aroma ...Read More »

2007 Clos La Madeleine, St-Emilion

90-92 points Robert Parker. K&L's notes: *+ Tasted at UGC, this tiny property produced a great wine in 2007. Sweet and ripe and lush on the palate. Great body. Some chocolate flavors. Lovely. This is K&L Bordeaux buyer Clyde Beffa's pick for value of the vintage: "A sleeper."

2007 Lafleur, Pomerol

90-93 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Good deep ruby-red. Complex nose melds black plum, musky chocolate, licorice, menthol and fresh herbs. Sweet, dense, ripe and silky, with lovely life and palate coverage. Pure and harmonious from the outset, with a firm architecture for the year. Finishes a bit strict but not hard, with a smoky nuance and lovely length. Pomerol does not get much better than this in 2007. The alcohol here will be in the low 13s. (ST)" (6/2008) 92 points Wine Spectator: "Perfumed, fruity and aromatic, with licorice and berry on the nose. Full-bodied, with a solid core of ripe fruit and a spicy, almost ...Read More »

2007 Doisy-Daëne "Extravagant" Sauternes (375ml)

98 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Delivering 12.0% ABV and 200gms residual sugar, Denis Dubourdieu’s luxury Barsac, the 2007 L’Extravagant de Doisy-Daene, does not hold back, born with a lucid golden hue with big fat tears (of joy). The bouquet is very intense but very tight at first, demanding time to unfurl in the glass at its own pleasure: white peach, apricot, orange-blossom and a touch of marmalade with breathtaking definition. The palate is full-bodied with a viscous entry, so pure and caressing with mellifluous honey, apricot and citrus lemon, wonderful delineation on the finish, ...Read More »

2007 Tertre Rotebouef, St-Emilion

89-92 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Deep ruby-red. Ripe but subdued aromas of black raspberry, licorice, mocha and espresso. Dense, sappy and quite sweet for 2007, with a firm licorice edge and a saline nuance to the dark berry and spice flavors, giving the wine an uncompromising dryness. But this has the silky, velvety, Burgundian texture that long-time fans of this domain love. Finishes with fine-grained tannins and lingering notes of mocha, coffee and licorice. (ST)" (6/2008) Jancis Robinson: "Evolved ruby. Sweet dark chocolate plus greenness on the nose. Very mellifluous at first but it’s just not quite p ...Read More »

2007 Latour, Pauillac (1.5L)

95 points Wine Enthusiast: "A big and powerful wine, with tannins that are compact and dense. The dryness of the tannins go right to the core, surrounded by chocolate, sweet fruit and dark berry flavors. The wine is well structured, big and bold, with plenty of firmness promising aging. (RV)" (4/2010) 92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2007 Latour is the most recent late-release from the First Growth estate that abandoned en primeur after the 2011 vintage. Incidentally, this was the first vintage that Frédéric Engerer made with cellar technical director, Hélène Génin. "It was not an easy wine when it was young," h ...Read More »

2007 Lynch-Bages, Pauillac(lightly bin soiled label)

93 points Wine Enthusiast: "Rich, impressively ripe fruit, the fruit dense and black, with juicy black plum flavors followed by dusty tannins. The wine is chunky, powerful for the year, the dryness smoothed by new wood." (4/2010) Jancis Robinson: "Attractive note of blueberry complements the cedar fresh note. One of the firmest wines of the day. Firm but not aggressive, just in need of more time. Fresh long finish." (11/2011) Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Delicious, supple and close to full maturity, the 2007 Lynch Bages exhibits a dark plum/purple color with some lightening at the edge along with tobacco leaf, bay leaf, black curra ...Read More »
