2013 Gundlach Bundschu "Mountain Cuvée" Sonoma County Red Blend

91 points Wine Enthusiast: "This full-bodied beauty traffics in cigar, tar and chocolate, expressing a rich, robust and smoky world of goodness. With a velvety texture, it continues to impress beyond the first sip, offering both memorable length and breadth. It blends together 80% Merlot, 8% Cabernet Sauvignon and 2% Malbec." (2/2017) 90 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The outstanding 2013 Mountain Cuvée Proprietary Red, which is 80.4% Merlot, 17.4% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest Malbec, was aged ten months in a combination of new and used oak. 2014 Louis M. Martini Sonoma County Cabernet Sauvignon Top Pick!
2014 Louis M. Martini Sonoma County Cabernet Sauvignon

90 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "One of the best values in Cabernet Sauvignon anywhere in the world remains Louis Martini’s Sonoma Cabernet Sauvignon. The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Sonoma County (89% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Merlot and the rest Petite Sirah, Cabernet Franc and other varieties) is just a beautiful wine. Dense ruby/purple with classic tobacco leaf, blackcurrant, loamy soil notes and a touch of wood spice, this wine (aged 16 months in French and American oak) has relatively modest alcohol for Cabernets these days (13.5%), and what’s even more remarkable is that there are 408,0 ...Read More »

2012 Lyeth Sonoma County Meritage

Wine & Spirits: "A velvety blend based on Merlot, this is simple but clean, its strawberry-red fruit lifted, the structure easy rather than gripping. It’s light enough for roast chicken." (8/2015) Wine Enthusiast: "This wine has a foundation of 57% Merlot, followed by almost equal parts Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec, then smaller percents of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. Perfumed, it expresses itself in tight, chewy tannins before revealing cedar, pencil shavings and cranberry in a medium-bodied package. (6/2016) Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Even the 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Olema offers plenty of value in an elegant, tasty, cedary, blackcurrant-scented and flavored wine that has good concentration, light tannin and a tasty, savory mouthfeel. Blended with 10% Merlot, it finds a jolt of richness on the finish, a showcase for notions of chocolate, cherry and blackberry." (2/2017) K&L Notes: About the producer: "Since the inaugural vintage of our Decoy Napa Valley Red Wine almost a quarter century ago, Decoy has taken an important place in the Duckhorn Wine Company family of wines. 2014 Sebastiani "Gravel Bed" Sonoma County Bordeaux Blend

This is 67% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Merlot, 12% Malbec and 3% Petit Verdot from--as the name suggests--some of the winery's more gravely vineyard sources, including the famed Cherryblock, with Mountain Terraces and Bedrock. Though the 2014 has yet to be professionally reviewed, the 2013 earned 97 points from Robert Parker, who enthused about the venerable Sonoma winery's recent successes: "If you haven’t noticed the qualitative efforts by winemaker Mark Lyon and the Sebastiani team over the last decade or more, it’s time to take notice. 2013 Anakota "Helena Montana" Knights Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

96 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Helena Montana offers chocolate, sweet black cherries, a dense purple color, great intensity and purity - a real mountain style, but with surprisingly soft tannins. It is easily a 30-year wine. The good news is that there are 520 cases of this big, boisterous, yet voluptuously textured offering from Anakota. (RP)" (10/2015) 93 points Vinous: "The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Helena Montana is a dark, powerful wine. It delights in luxuriously bright acidity and a jammy explosion of blackberry, chocolate, clove and tobacco, the texture roundly approachable. (VB)" (12/2016) K&L Notes: Founder Patrick Campbell made a name for Laurel Glen back in the 1980s, with one of Sonoma County’s first "cult" Cabernet Sauvignon wines. 94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon 55 Degrees Slope exhibits an opaque ruby/purple color as well as beautiful, sweet crème de cassis, Asian plum sauce, licorice and forest floor notes. Full-bodied with velvety tannins, and impressive concentration, texture and length, this superb Cabernet can be drunk early in life because of its velvety opulence or cellared for two decades. 2013 Sebastiani "Cherry Block" Sonoma Valley Cabernet Sauvognon

98 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Lastly, the 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Cherryblock ratchets up the level of color to basically black/blue/purple. It has an extraordinary nose of almost super-concentrated essence of cherries and blackberries, along with some graphite and licorice. There is a touch of camphor in this multidimensional, world-class wine that is another spectacular offering from Sebastiani. The finish must last for close to a minute. This is a killer wine that can compete with the very best Cabernet Sauvignons made anywhere in the world. Give it 3-4 years of cellaring and drin ...Read More »

2013 Arrowood Knights Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

91 points Vinous: "The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon (Knights Valley), all Knights Valley fruit in this vintage, is superb. Raspberry jam, spice, scorched earth, rose petal, cloves and new leather are some of the signatures. Knights Valley is often noted for Graves-like sense of gravel-infused minerality, naturally allied to a California expression of fruit. That is exactly what readers will find in the 2013. This is certainly a major sleeper of the vintage and one of the more attractively priced world-class Cabernet Sauvignons coming out of California’s North Coast in this miraculous vintage for Bordeaux varietals. The wine impresses with its purity of flavors and youthfulness. Shows some tannins on the finish... (Web Only—2005)" 92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1995 Cinq Cepages is tasting even better than it was prior to bottling. 2012 Calluna "Cuvée CVC" Chalk Hill Bordeaux Blend

95 points Wine & Spirits: "David Jeffrey’s estate, in the hills east of the Russian River Valley, tends to give a cool, taut expression of the Bordelaise grapes, thanks to maritime influence and the vineyard’s sandstone and shale-based soils. This Merlot-based blend includes Cabernet Sauvignon, Franc, Petit Verdot and Malbec; in 2012, the wine’s flavors are vigorous and cohesive, with hints of black plum and mint, though the overall impression is primarily mineral, the refreshing glints of fruit completely tied to the structure. A blend of 93% Cabernet Sauvignon and 7% Petit Verdot, aged 27 months in a combination of French and American oak, the wine is dense, full-bodied, with notes of dusty, loamy soil interwoven with crème de cassis, blackberry, toasty oak and hints of chocolate and espresso. Graphite, smoke, grilled herbs, black fruit, game and savory herbs meld together in a dense, powerful, intensely mineral-driven Cabernet Sauvignon. A very slight touch of brett gives the Clajeux much of its distinctive Old World personality. As long as readers know what to expect, the Clajeux is a wine full of personality. 2010 Ravenswood "Pickberry" Sonoma Red

Connoisseurs Guide: "Given its maker's predilection for wines of real substance and size and its fairly high percentage of Cabernet , it should come as no surprise that this wine does no more than hint at typical Merlot. It is built along somewhat tighter lines, and grabby tannin presently gets in the way of its fruity expression, but it is a wine for keeping rather than one for gulping down soon, and it should be left alone for upwards of five or six years at the least."
