2014 Substance (K Vintners) "Powerline Estate" Walla Walla Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

94-96 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The new 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Powerline is a new cuvee based around a vineyard in the southern part of Walla Walla. Harvested from tiny yields and aged in mostly neutral barrels, this full-bodied, luxuriously textured, seamless beauty gives up lots of classic Cabernet notes of creme de cassis, licorice, toasted spice and graphite. There's an undeniably sexy style here, and while it will certainly be approachable on release, my money's on it evolving gracefully for 15-20 years. These latest releases from Charles Smith check in at the top of the pyramid ...Read More »

2015 Wines Of Substance Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "One of the best values I’ve tasted in a long time, the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon from the team at K Vintners was hand-harvested, natively fermented and aged all in French oak. Smoking good notes of cassis, black currants and hints of plum all emerge from this rich, beautifully textured, layered beauty that has solid tannic grip, a silky, elegant texture and a great finish. It has real elegance and finesse and is a dark fruited, unctuous beauty to drink over the coming 3-4 years. These are the Bordeaux variety releases from K Vintners. (JD)" (6/2017)

2014 Seven Hills Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Top Pick!
2014 Seven Hills Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

Seven Hills winery was founded in 1988, which makes it “old” in the Washington wine scene but a baby in the eyes of most wine regions around the world. Fourth-generation winemaker Casey McClellan founded Seven Hills with the goal of making wines from Bordeaux varietals, since those grapes excel in the Columbia and Walla Walla Valleys. The 2014 Seven Hills Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon shows a dark red color in the glass, which is brimming with aromas of black cherry kirsch, mocha and baker’s chocolate. 2014 DeLille "Four Flags" Red Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon

It shows the vintage's more forward, charming style with its full-bodied, rich, textured style, yet it firms up considerably on the finish. Possessing lots of graphite, toasted spice, currants and black raspberry aromatics, I love its purity and balance. It's best today with a decant, but it should be in its finest from 2020-2034. Fruit flavors of black, brandied cherries, cassis and bourbon-soaked plums are wrapped in generous, layered oak. 2011 Quilceda Creek Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Back In Stock!
2011 Quilceda Creek Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

96 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "More serious, and one of the wines of the vintage, the 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon (100% Cabernet Sauvignon) has uncommon concentration and depth in the vintage, as well as a broad, structured profile that will allow it to age gracefully. Loaded with sweet creme de cassis, exotic spice, licorice and graphite, it’s a full-bodied, elegant and classically styled effort that has nothing out of place, fine, building tannin and a rock star finish. It will be approachable at an earlier stage than most vintages, yet still have two decades of longevity. (JD)" (6/2014) ...Read More »

2012 Quilceda Creek Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2012 Quilceda Creek Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (98RP, 96WS, 95VN, 95WE). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon is brilliant. Made from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, mostly from the famous Champoux Vineyard in the Horse Heaven Hills, it was aged all in new oak and bottled unfined and unfiltered. It offers a captivating bouquet of black cherry liqueur and cassis-like fruit, Asian spice, coffee bean and lead pencil shavings to go with a full-bodied, ripe, seamless and hedonistic style on the palate. One of the more approachable, opulent examples of this cuvee, it has no hard edges, plenty of tannin and a massive, heady finish. (JD)" (06/2015)

2012 K Vintners "The Klein Blend-Klein Vineyard" Columbia Valley Bordeaux Blend

96 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A blend of 41% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon and 29% Cabernet Franc, the 2012 Klein (they do two wines from this site, a 100% Syrah and this Bordeaux blend) has fabulous Cabernet notes of currants, ground herbs, crushed rocks and graphite to go with a deep, full-bodied, layered, concentrated style on the palate. There's an upfront feel here due to the wealth of fruit, but it has ample tannic grip through the mid-palate and finish. As usual, this was a massive lineup by Washington's wild man, Charles Smith. Despite the larger-than-life persona, these win ...Read More »

2012 Quilceda Creek "Palengat Vineyard" Horse Heaven Hills Bordeaux Blend

94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A single-vineyard blend of 59% Merlot, 29% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Cabernet Franc and 5% Petit Verdot, the 2012 Palengat Vineyard offers a deep, decadent style to go with classic blackberry liqueur, blueberry, graphite, toasted spices and licorice. A big, beefy, layered and full-bodied effort, it has building tannin, a supple mid-palate and terrific length. It should evolve nicely for 2-4 years and hold for a decade or more after that. This is another serious lineup by Paul and Alex Golitzin and I was able to taste their 2012s multiple times, once at my o ...Read More »
