2013 Alexander Valley Vineyards "Wetzel Family Estate" Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L) Top Pick!
2013 Alexander Valley Vineyards "Wetzel Family Estate" Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "87% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest mostly Merlot with a little Cabernet Franc, Malbec and Petit Verdot. The wine has a dark ruby/purple color and lovely blackcurrant, licorice-infused notes with subtle background wood spice. It is ripe, has an excellent texture, is medium-bodied and is best drunk over the next 3-4 years. (RP)" (3/2016) K&L Notes: The Wetzel family has been growing Cabernet Sauvignon in Alexander Valley since the 1960s, and embody the Sonoma County spirit of winemaking, charging very fair prices for estate-grown, Alexander Valley wines, yet always in... 2014 Caymus Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1L) Top Pick!
2014 Caymus Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1L)

The little brother to Caymus' famed "Special Selection" Cabernet Sauvignon, the winery's Napa Valley release has also been a consistent 91+ point wine in Wine Spectator for the past 10 years--although the 2014 has not yet been professionally reviewed. It's also been a 90-and-better hit lately with Robert Parker, who recently reaffirmed his praise for the winery in Wine Advocate: "I am old enough to remember Chuck Wagner and his father, who I first met at Caymus in the late seventies. This is clearly one of Napa Valley’s iconic wineries, as well as one th... Read More »

2012 Stag's Leap Wine Cellars "Artemis" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 1.5L

91 points Wine & Spirits: "Artemis is SLWC’s cabernet blend from purchased grapes and, in 2012, it’s broad and juicy, emphasizing full-on depths of plum-skin flavor and richness while retaining freshness in the fruit. Generous in its creamy texture, this is a match for filet mignon." (6/2015) 90 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Already bottled, the 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Artemis is similar to its siblings. It offers delicious blackcurrant fruit, not as much complexity as the Fay or S.L.V., but an attractive meaty, rich blackcurrant fruitiness, well-integrated wood, and hints of spice and oak. Fleshy and medium-bodied ...Read More »

2014 Ridge "Geyserville" Alexander Valley Zinfandel (1.5L)

93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The proprietary red wine, the 2014 Geyserville from Alexander Valley is a big boy at 14.6% alcohol. Made from a blend of 60% Zinfandel, 24% Carignan, 12% Petite Sirah and the rest Mourvèdre, this is a big-time winner in 2014, with copious quantities of juicy blackberry and black cherry fruit, some wood spice and loamy soil undertones. Full-bodied, fleshy and seductive, the wine is clean, pure, textured, and offers sensational drinking now and over the next 7-8 years. Full-bodied yet wonderfully firm and formed with refined and polished tannins. Super definition. Drink in 2018, but wonderful to experience." (1/2016) 95 points Vinous: "Just as magnificent from bottle as it was in barrel, the 2013 Napanook is dense, powerful and brooding, with searing intensity and extraordinary balance. Lavender, plums, violets, licorice and smoke are some of the signatures, but the 2013 exudes finesse, power and intensity. ...Read More »

2013 Ridge Vineyards "Monte Bello" Santa Cruz Mountains Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L)

98 points Vinous: "The 2013 Monte Bello is utterly spellbinding in its beauty. Finely sculpted and chiseled, with super-expressive aromatics and searing tannins, the 2013 is shaping up to be a modern-day classic. The 2013 is remarkably pure and vibrant for such a big wine. It will be years before the 2013 is close to being ready to drink. Even so, it is magnificent today. Where will the 2013 end up? The future seems limitless for now. Quite simply, the 2013 is a must-have wine. In 2013, Monte Bello is very heavy in Cabernet Sauvignon, partly because Merlot suffered in the ...Read More »

2013 Hall "Kathryn Hall" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L)

98-100 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Kathryn Hall from their Sacrashe Rutherford Vineyard delivers a relatively profound set of aromatics even for a wine that’s only 11 months of age. With almost unreal richness of blue and black fruits, spring flowers, graphite and spice, this is a sensational inky, full-bodied wine that will come close to being a perfect wine when bottled after its full élevage in barrel. 2013 Faust Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 1.5L

90 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The Faust 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon comes largely from vineyards in southern Napa Valley’s Coombsville and Atlas Peak, but also includes some cross-AVA material from areas such as Yountville, Mt. Veeder, St. Helena and Rutherford. It is a well-made, ripe, concentrated, deep ruby/purple-colored Cabernet Sauvignon with sweet tannin, an attractive, cedary, licorice-infused aromatic and flavor profile, medium to full body and supple tannins. It seems to be the most drinkable and up-front of the Faust wines. (RP)" (10/2015)

Drink it over the next 12-15 years. 2014 Ridge "Lytton Springs" Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel (1.5L) New!
2014 Ridge "Lytton Springs" Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel (1.5L)

94 points Vinous: "The 2014 Lytton Springs is another absolutely gorgeous wine. Perhaps because of its relatively recent bottling, the 2014 feels a bit compressed, but there appears to be plenty of complexity and depth hiding behind the acidity and tannin. Far from an easygoing Zinfandel, the 2014 Lytton is a wine to buy and cellar for at least a handful of years. The wine's richness, persistence and vertical intensity all lead me to believe it will be special in time. Black cherry, pomegranate, mint and sweet spices meld into the resonant finish. Ripe and voluptuous on the palate - yet with a super-classic conception of structure, the 2013 offers superb depth and impeccable overall balance. Waves of dark red cherry, pomegranate, spice, tobacco lead to more savory/ferrous notes that develop in the glass. Saline notes give the 2013 much of its energy and vivacity. In keeping with the style of the year, the 2011 is medium in body, feminine and gracious. Best of all, it will drink well pretty much right out of the gate. (AG)" (7/2014) 91 points Wine & Spirits: "Blended from lots that didn’t make it into the flagship Monte Bello, Ridge’s 2011 Estate is still a pretty classic Santa Cruz Mountains cabernet, shot through with cassis aromas, bright acidity and dark, mineral tannins. Currants, black cherries and sweet oak abound still, and the wine does a fine balancing act between being slightly supple and polished and still having an appropriate backbone of varietal tannins. There’s plenty of berry and currant fruit as well as oak, but it’s accompanied by tobacco and herbs that give the wine an earthiness. What the wine lacks in dazzle it more than makes up for in elegance and subtlety. Should develop well for at least a decade." It is moderately tannic and just rough enough on the back end to dissuade hasty drinking, but at the finish, just as at every stop along its vigorous, well-focused flavors, deep and decisive, black-cherry fruit is its governing message and will continue to be for a good many years to come." Then fatter, riper and sweeter than the basic 2003 Bien Nacido syrah, with blackberry, floral and spice flavors enlivened by harmonious acidity. Very suave use of oak here. Finishes long and uncompromisingly dry, with toothdusting tannins and a suggestion of cinnamon." (7/2005) 91 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The late-released 2002 Syrah Bien Nacido Vineyard Hillside Estate reveals licorice, smoke, camphor, and oak characteristics. This firmly-structured, smoky, black currant-scented and flavored wine is long, rich, and backward. Giv ...Read More »

2002 Blankiet "Paradise Hills" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L)

98 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This beautiful hillside vineyard is situated behind the Dominus Estate in Yountville. The 2002 Cabernet Sauvignon Paradise Hills Vineyard (100% Cabernet Sauvignon) has turned out even better than I predicted seven years ago. Made by Helen Turley when she was the consultant at Blankiet from tightly spaced, steep hillside vineyards planted by her husband, John Wetlaufer, it exhibits a beautiful nose of flowers, high quality unsmoked cigar tobacco, creme de cassis, chocolate, espresso and blueberries. Extraordinarily young, fresh and fabulously concentrated ...Read More »

2005 Qupé "Los Olivos Cuveé" Santa Ynez Valley Rhône Blend (1.5L) (Previously $100)

90 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Lindquist’s homage to a southern Cotes du Rhone is his 2005 Los Olivos Cuvee, a blend of 40% Syrah, 37% Mourvedre, and 23% Grenache. It is a world-class effort displaying notes of tapenade, sweet black cherry and cassis fruit, earth, pepper, roasted herbs, and a subtle hint of smoke. This wine comes across like a Crozes-Hermitage from a fine vintage in France’s northern Rhone Valley. (RP)" (8/2007) Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "(40% Syrah, 37% Mourvedre and 23% Grenache) Medium red. Cherry and blackberry on the nose, with a mocha quality building with air. 2013 Barnett "Rattlesnake Hill" Spring Mountain District Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L)

98 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The opaque blue/purple color jumps from the glass of the 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Rattlesnake, a 100% Cabernet Sauvignon aged in 90% new French oak. A nose of white flowers, blueberries, blackberries, cassis should make this one of the most profound Rattlesnake Cabernet Sauvignons made yet at Barnett Vineyards. Gorgeous purity, fabulous balance, a full-bodied mouthfeel and multi-dimensional texture result in a compelling Cabernet Sauvignon to drink over the next 25 years. 98+" (12/2015) Vinous: "The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Rattlesnake is similar in style to the Napa ...Read More »

1997 Long Meadow Ranch Napa Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L)

90 points Wine Enthusiast: "Made by Cathy Corison, this wine is now in its second vintage, where it shows black-cherry fruit touched up by leather and spice. A big wine needing some time to come together; it is stylish for sure, with a vivid, exciting finish." (11/2000) Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Good bright red-ruby color. Cassis, black cherry, plum syrup, licorice, bitter chocolate and leather on the nose; reminded me of Saint-Julien. Concentrated and rather powerful, with slightly inky flavors of cassis and dark chocolate and a faint herbal streak. Dense and solidly built. Finishes with strong, tongue-dusti ...Read More »

2005 Pride Mountain Sonoma County Cabernet Franc (1.5L) Back In Stock!
2005 Pride Mountain Sonoma County Cabernet Franc (1.5L)

91 points Connoisseurs Guide: "*Two Stars* Leading with intense, blackberry, plum and coffee aromas, this very ripe but well-balanced bottling surprises with its almost claret-like structure, and, while showing up with typical Cabernet Franc toughness at the finish, it also conveys a wholly convincing sense of fruit. It is among the more complex wines of its class, and its emerging elements of rich oak, cola and loamy soil give rise to expectations for further interest ..." 2010 Ridge Vineyards "Monte Bello" Santa Cruz Mountains Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L)

97 points Vinous: "The 2010 Monte Bello is just as stunning as it has always been. Today, the 2010 appears to be entering a closed phase, so it is best left alone for at least another 5-10 years, perhaps longer. The signatures are super-ripe, exotic fruit, sweet aromatics and firm tannins, all of which ensure the 2010 will be utterly magnificent in a few decades. The growing season was characterized by mostly cold weather, with an unexpectedly intense heat spike in mid-October that gave the fruit a final push. One of the things that makes this vintage so compelling is the ...Read More »

2009 Saxum "James Berry Vineyard" Paso Robles Rhône Blend (1.5L)
Bid on this magnum of 2009 Saxum "James Berry Vineyard" Paso Robles Rhône Blend (1.5L) (98RP, 97JS, 97WS, 96VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Simply put, the 2009 James Berry Vineyard is one of the greatest young wines I have ever tasted from California, or anywhere for that matter. Bright, floral aromatics lead to expressive red fruit in this impossibly elegant, dazzling wine. A melange of rose petals, mint and licorice follows as the James Berry shows off its breathtaking clarity and finesse. Fine-grained, chalky tannins frame the exceptional finish. Frankly, I am surprised this is the first wine of the tasting. Where does one go from here? The 2009 James Berry is a bit of departure from previous vintages. This is the highest percentage of Grenache ever used in the blend, and a large portion of the Grenache was aged in concrete, an approach Smith has borrowed from producers in the Rhone. Originally Smith had intended to age less of the Grenache components in concrete, but the low

2013 Goldeneye Anderson Valley Pinot Noir (1.5L)

90 points Wine Enthusiast: "Red-cherry and strawberry aromas meld with rich fruit and warm baking-spice flavors to make this full-bodied wine hard to resist. The style is in the ripe, pastry shop mode, and soft tannins and acidity complete the picture. (JG)" (8/2016)

2010 Saxum "James Berry Vineyard" Paso Robles Rhône Blend (1.5L)
Bid on this magnum of 2010 Saxum "James Berry Vineyard" Paso Robles Rhône Blend (1.5L) (97RP, 96VN, 94ST, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Sporting a vibrant ruby, semi-opaque color, the 2010 James Berry Vineyard is the most tight, backward version of this cuvee that I can recall. A blend of 52% Grenache, 26% Mourvedre, and 22% Syrah, it has a decidedly savory bouquet of blackberry liqueur, kirsch, violets, bouquet garni, ground pepper, and graphite. Full-bodied and layered on the palate, with brilliant mid-palate concentration, superb freshness, and masses of tannin, this brilliant Rhone blend from Paso Robles will stand toe-to-toe with the best wines out there, but it is not for those seeking instant gratification and will require 4-5 years of bottle age. In 2010, the Grenache component was aged in a combination of concrete tank and oak puncheons, and this shows in both the aromatics and texture, with less obvious sweetness and more freshness. It will evolve gracefully for two

2005 Pahlmeyer Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (1.5L)
Bid on this magnum of 2005 Pahlmeyer Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (1.5L) (95CG, 95RP, 94ST, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "As for the 2005 Proprietary Red, it is a blend of 84% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Merlot, 3% Cabernet Franc and 1% each Petit Verdot and Malbec. While this might not be the blockbuster one would expect, there is outstanding depth, purity and overall texture and ripeness. Again, terrific acidity gives the wine vigor and precision, despite a lofty 15.2% alcohol. The wine is fresh and pure, with black raspberry and blackcurrant fruit, some white floral notes, and the telltale forest floor. This is a wine to drink over the next 10-15+ years. Pahlmeyer’s wines age well, as I am still working off the 1995 and 1996 Proprietary Reds, which remain in great shape. (RP)" (06/2015)
