Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "There are approximately 500 cases of the brilliant 2006 Sangiovese, which includes 10% Cabernet Sauvignon in the blend. One of the finest Sangiovese-based wines made in northern California, it reveals notes of strawberry jam, cedar, new saddle leather, and roasted herbs. The complex aromatics are accompanied by a medium-bodied wine with sweet, pure fruit and plenty of character. (RP)" (12/2008) Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Bright red-ruby. 2006 Williams Selyem Russian River Valley Pinot Noir

94 points Wine & Spirits: "There's something in this wine that's rivetingly true to its place, a classical simplicity, as if smelling cherry blossoms in a coastal forest, or picking raspberries along Westside Road. It has the gentleness of great Russian River pinot, and a bright, happy flavor that lasts for minutes. From five neighboring vineyards, including Rochioli and Flax, with 90 percent of the fruit coming from Williams Selyem estate plantings at Drake and Litton. Winemaker Bob Cabral believes it's his best Russian River Pinot Noir in years." (10/2008) 91 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Deep red. Captivating, p ...Read More »

This is subtle and complex, but needs another three years." (2/2011) 92 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Bright ruby-red. 2006 Cain "Five" Spring Mountain District Bordeaux Blend

Jancis Robinson: "Dark purplish crimson. Appealing juicy fruit with a little overlay of walnuts on the nose. Some personality and a fruity core. Quite dusty and full blooded with slightly rustic tannins. Distinctive! I like the fact that the winemaker has not been afraid of tannin. Quite burly rather than super smooth. Out of the mould – so therefore mountain fruit..? I just wonder whether the fruit won’t fade a little bit too early for the tannins? Dry finish. But this is serious artisanal wine. (3/2009) Connoisseurs Guide: "This wine's first aromas of bright, energetic red cherry fruit are combined comfortably with a light but evident kiss of oak that adds a nice bit of richness. Its dense ruby/purple color is followed by classic aromas of creme de cassis, melted licorice, smoked meats, burning embers, and graphite... great balance. A candidate for 'wine of the vintage', this dense, full- ...Read More »

2006 Williams Selyem "Westside Road Neighbors" Russian River Valley Pinot Noir

93 points Connoisseurs Guide: "*Two Stars* A perennial favorite in these pages, this Pinot hails from the very heart of what many, including ourselves, view as one of the top two or three Pinot patches outside of the very best in Burgundy. It starts with exceptionally concentrated fruit redolent of sweet red cherries kissed with notes of vanilla, honey, toast and clove-like spices and continues with a delight-fully supple entry texture and a firming backbone of evident but not intrusive tannins." (6/2008) 93 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Bright red. Vibrant raspberry and cherry preserve aromas, with suave incense, rose ...Read More »

2006 Kosta Browne "Kanzler Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir

91 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Bright red color. Ripe red berry and cherry aromas are complemented by clove, mace and cinnamon. Supple and round, with sweet red berry preserve flavors, soft tannins and building ripeness. Maintains admirable clarity on the long, juicy finish, which leaves behind a strong flavor of raspberry. For a rich wine, this is focused and fresh. (ST)" (5/2008) Wine Spectator: "Mature, with subdued cola, sassafras, dried berry and forest floor notes. Drying the finish. (JL, Web-2012)"

2006 Marcassin "Blue Slide Ridge" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir

96 points Wine Spectator: "An extraordinary wine, with a wonderful upswelling of flavors, this features layered notes of complex raspberry, melted black licorice, clove and mineral. Unfolds gracefully and deliberately, gaining depth and velocity on the finish. (JL)" (6/2012) 95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2006 Pinot Noir Blue Slide Ridge possesses wonderful notes of boysenberries, blueberries, raspberries, damp forest and spring flowers. With full-bodied richness and complex aromatics, it seems more evolved and open-knit than the Three Sisters. (RP)" (1/2011)

2006 Dehlinger "Goldridge" Russian River Valley Pinot Noir

93 points Connoisseurs Guide: "The temptation to compare the precise Pinot fruit here to that of the best Volnays is hard to resist, but, truth be told, this wine is California through and through, and Dehlinger at that, meaning that no matter how precise its fruit may be, it is simply fleshier than Volnay is wont to be. Regardless of comparisons, this one is deep and lush, packed with balanced yet voluptuous wild cherry fruit with solid support from youthful tannin, firming acids and rich oak but only the barest hint of a jammy component." (2/2009) 92 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Bright medium red. Alluring perfume o ...Read More »

2006 Sine Qua Non "The Hoodoo Man" White Blend

95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "I opted to just list my scores for the older releases as I find Bob's initial write-ups spot on. (JD) ... [This exceptional effort is a model example of what can be done with white varietals in California’s Central Coast. An exceptional bouquet of lemon blossom, nectarine, orange marmalade-infused honey, quince, and citrus are stunningly aromatic and provide profound richness, yet the freshness, precision, and overall lift are remarkable for a wine of this power and intensity. It offers a prodigious glass of dry white wine that should drink handsomely fo ...Read More »

2006 Amuse Bouche Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend

92 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Bright ruby-red. Vibrant aromas of cassis, flowers and incense, lifted by a violet topnote. Suave and sexy wine, at once plush and light on its feet, with excellent definition and intensity to its scented flavors of dark berries and brown spices. Finishes long and perfumed, with fine-grained tannins." (12/2008) 92 points Wine Spectator: "Intense and well-focused, showing layered aromas of blackberry, espresso and toasty herbs, with complex flavors of briary plum, sage and hints of leather. The tannins are firm but ripe, with a hint of heat on the finish. Merlot and Cabernet Franc. ( ...Read More »

2006 Carlisle "Carlisle Vineyard" Russian River Valley Zinfandel New!
2006 Carlisle "Carlisle Vineyard" Russian River Valley Zinfandel

93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "...exhibits a dark ruby/purple color in addition to vivid aromatics of earth, new saddle leather, pepper, black raspberries, sweet kirsch, and smoke. Full-bodied, rich, ripe, and pure, it is a total hedonistic as well as intellectual turn-on." (12/2008) 92 points Wine Spectator: "Big and bold, but the ripe flavors are balanced by lively acidity. Floral aromas of cassis and licorice lead to flavors of rustic, concentrated wild berry, white pepper and smoky sage. The tannins suggest patience. Best from 2010 through 2015." (4/2009) 91 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Bright ruby. Compelling fresh, spicy bouquet of raspberr ...Read More »
