2006 Beaulieu Vineyard "Tapestry Reserve" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend

93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2006 Proprietary Red Wine Tapestry Reserve (a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Petit Verdot) is the finest example of this cuvee I have ever tasted. Flowery, licorice-infused, cassis notes intermixed with forest floor and lead pencil shavings are followed by a layered, impressively built wine with real opulence, lots of red and black fruits, low acidity, and lush tannin. It should drink well for 15+ years." (12/2009) 92 points Wine Enthusiast: "A terrific wine, delicious and classic in structure. Shows the beauty of the blend, which consists of five Bordea ...Read More »

2006 Chateau St. Jean "Cinq Cepages" Sonoma County Cabernet Sauvignon Back In Stock!
2006 Chateau St. Jean "Cinq Cepages" Sonoma County Cabernet Sauvignon

92 points Wine Enthusiast: "Showing the usual balance and harmony of this bottling, which is made from the five Bordeaux varieties, the ’06 nonetheless lacks a bit of the richness of other vintages. It’s beautifully clean and dry, with sound currant, blackberry, herb tea and cedar flavors, but is missing a certain fatness in the middle." (6/2010) 90 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon Cinq Cepages (in this vintage, truly a Cabernet Sauvignon rather than a proprietary red as it is a blend of 83% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest Merlot, Malbec, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot) possesses soft, sed ...Read More »

2006 Stag's Leap Wine Cellars "Artemis" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

90 points Wine Enthusiast: "Made almost exclusively from Cabernet Sauvignon, this is a deeply colored, reipely rich young wine that shows masses of blackberries. There are supporting notes of paine grille, anise, violets, anise and smoky oak, with a firm grounding of minerals. Shows some tartness and astringency that strongly suggest time in the cellar. Try beyond 2012." (4/2012) Jancis Robinson: "Rather closed nose at first, with discreet cassis and leafy notes. Much bigger on the palate, really sophisticated and broad. Very much in its infancy, just hinting at what’s to come with cocoa, coffee, blac ...Read More »

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2006 Silver Oak Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (91W&S, 90WE). 94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "...the 2006 Monte Bello (68% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot, 10% Petit Verdot, and 2% Cabernet Franc) is a very strong effort. Its dense purple color is followed by copious aromas of creme de cassis, licorice, spice box, and a touch of oak. Well-balanced, dense, pure, layered, and rich, its big, rich style is similar to the 2003. This cuvee should keep for 25-30 years in a cool cellar. 2006 Saxum "Broken Stones" Paso Robles Rhône Blend
Bid on this bottle of 2006 Saxum "Broken Stones" Paso Robles Rhône Blend (97RP, 96WS, 94ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2006 Broken Stones (63% Syrah, 24% Grenache, and 13% Mourvedre) blew me away. An inky/purple color and a dazzling, explosive bouquet of black raspberries, camphor, cassis, forest floor, and spring flowers are followed by a rich, elegant wine offering laser-like precision as well as a striking minerality. It is a powerful yet graceful effort that should drink well for 10-12+ years. One of California’s super-star producers, Saxum owns one of the state’s most remarkable vineyard sites, the James Berry Vineyard, which has been broken into a number of different blocks, all planted on rocky limestone hillsides. This estate’s approach to winemaking is decidedly artisinal, with extraordinarily small yields as well as a minimalistic winemaking philosophy. (RP)" (08/2009)

You should even pour the glasses and let them to stand for an hour. The interaction with oxygen will open the wine up and allow it to express its herbal, soft deliciousness. Airing also emphasizes the cherry and red currant fruit, letting the palate enjoy this complex, tannic wine at its best." (12/2010) Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Bright, full red-ruby. Black raspberry, spring flower (violets), and kirsch aromas soar from the glass of this dark ruby/purple-tinged wine. Medium to full-bodied with zesty acidity, beautiful penetration, and a soaring mid-palate as well as length result in a prodigious example of Pinot Noir that should drink well for a decade or more. It possesses phenomenal texture, stunning purity, and remarkable freshness, which, again, is attributable to the limestone soils as well as the proprietor’s brilliant hands-off winemaking philosophy. Quite dusty and full blooded with slightly rustic tannins. Distinctive! I like the fact that the winemaker has not been afraid of tannin. Quite burly rather than super smooth. The other 2006 Pinots I tasted, as well as the 2007s, all seem austere, rather attenuated in the finish, and essentially angular. While obviously less charming and fleshy in their youth, I doubt they will age any better since there is not a whole lot of flesh on them.
